ujoinme: It seems that we can all agree that the biggest problem threatening the ability of Nigeria to meet its responsibilities to its citizen is corruption! Everyone will agree that the Number one problem of the country.Corruption should carry the death penalty. Just like we should adopt the Jerry Rawlings approach to execute any former Nigerian leader guilty of corruption. We must make sure people aren't allowed to enjoy the proceeds of corruption. Also any journalist paid by politicians to write malicious falsehood, character assassination and bogus allegations of corruption against public office holders merely because of their tribe or creed should also attract the death penalty as in China, because when a journalist takes bribes in order to deliberately making an accusation of corruption against a person when it is false, is tantamount to attempted murder. http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/10/26/us-china-reporter-confession-idUSBRE99P01H20131026 |
To me, the only way to fix Ibadan is to detonate an atomic bomb there to level everything and then start afresh. The jaga-jaga is just too much for any human being. |

Fashola should build this airport quickly. It will alleviate a lot of congestion currently experienced at MMIA. Lagos for its size and volume of traffic need at least 2 international airports. |
FreeGlobe: Are these hospitals? smh. where is the room for ventilation? I bet people who go there for treatment will return with new infections. These are the poor structures Peter Obi is dumping in the state, nowhere like his Abuja mall. I'm curious as to why he doesn't award projects to competent contractors but heck its late and they will zoom with the money. what a petty and visionless governor.Bros, I like you, but sometimes when you write petty things like this i wonder if you are truly an im.becile. Let me teach you a tactics with answering questions. If you are in an argument and someone present a hard fact that make your position untenable, try to evade talking about that hard fact by saying something unrelated. If you dwell into the fact and start talking crap about the hospital not being ventilated, when all can clearly see the air-conditioners hanging on the window or to say its not done by a competent contractor when you can obviously see it is a structurally sound building, you truly appear as the "Retardeen" . Ngige may be your man. But i have said it before that he was a complete failure in healthcare delivery under his regime in spite of being a doctor. I know Anambra civil servants have worse things to say about Ngige, but from my perspective as a nurse at Onitsha General Hospital when Ngige was ruling Anambra, and he just let that hospital sink to its lowest pit of hell. Do you know i was once in the labour room and a woman died because she had sudden attack of asthma and there was not one vile of aminophylline injection in the whole hospital? The hospital pharmacy was empty!.. and when the woman's husband rushed with okada into town to buy the medication from a pharmacy,by the time he came back his wife had died. Do you know how many times we have had to send relatives of patients to run around all the blood banks in Onitsha to buy blood in order to save their relation or wife experiencing hemorrhage after child birth? Just because our hospital blood bank had packed up or there were no storage refrigerators.Do you know how many caesarian sections that was performed with a dying torchlight because we had to save the baby and there was no generator for the hospital? That is the level of decay at Onitsha General Hospital when Ngige was governor. All he did was to carry on tarring roads around Alor with hundreds of millions of naira as if there was no tomorrow and that was all to governance. Go to the same Onitsha General hospital today and see how Gov. Obi not only transformed the whole place by making the pharmacy fully stocked, two functional standby generators, the labs and blood banking systems are state of the art, and he had even attracted many consultant nephrologists to make the place a center of excellence in dialysis and kidney surgery. He did all these while building another state of the art hospital in Amaku, Awka, and still tarring roads and building schools, best state in Fadama III agricultural revolution, workers secretariate, attracting big companies to Anambra etc I personally think Ngige lacks the capacity to be a good administrator. It often shows when you hear him say he has one or two point agenda for development, which shows he truly believes his duty involves only the tarring of roads and that's it! You can support Ngige to high heavens, but the truth is that Obiano will be a better manager of human resources to achieve a more holistic development than Ngige can ever ponder. |
If I were Ifeanyi Ubah, i would use that N5 Million to buy an English dictionary and pay a good English teacher to teach me tenses. It is disgraceful when he gubernatorial aspirant uses "Come" instead of "Came"to refer to a previous event. |
How did NL let nyou type S.ex ? I though it was a bad word! Na wao ! |
FreeGlobe: is it not funny Peter Obi has awarded more contracts in his last few months than in his 8 years? Just yesterday he awarded 2.4 billion for building of schools. Trying to save face. I guess the criticism is getting to him. it will be worse when he leaves to a performing governorWould it be better if he took the money and ran or invested it into Anambra infrastructure. May i remind you again that Obi has done so many roads that it would be a ridiculous waste of time to begin itemizing them, especially for someone so rabidly anti-obi. Anyhow, you are still my beloved brother even if our opinions differ completely on the person of Gov. Obi. We agree on Stella and the need to put oily people's hypocrisy where it belongs- pit toilet. Personally, i am glad he isn't leaving uncompleted projects for his successor. Let him complete those Hotels, the Onitsha Mall and other pet projects of his. If he ever leaves any, it shall remain like that forever. Look at all Chimaroke's abandoned projects an edifices in Enugu. They aren't Chime's priority as Chime has his own pet projects to pursue. So all those Chimaroke's edifices have become a shameful waste of the people's money in projects that have become abandoned after he left Govt. House. I expect Gov. Peter Obi to continue his final push to actualize all his projects until the eve of May 29th,2014. |
Musiwa, Yoruba already sent you out to scout for oil regions to annex? Suddenly Yoruba wants to annex Urhobo and itshekiri at all costs as their new slaves in Odua republic ![]() The oil producing regions want to have their own sovereignty to use their oil money to develop their land and not play slaves to another Nigeria like arrangement inside Odua republic where they will be dominated and exploited by the majority Yorubas. |
writers4hire: I mean, what do you guys hate her so much? Is it because she's an Igbo woman? FYI, whatever you guys say here does not matter so you can run your mouth all you like. She's still the minister of aviation and she's not getting sacked. Whatever you say in this unpopular forum of yours will not make any difference. Fresh air till 2019. You can even ask for a third term and we'll arrange it for you.Because NL is a Yoruba tribal ground. But they should continue their tribalism, it will be their downfall |

If you repeat the same thing today, you will be used as suya by the Hausa/Fulani suya-men just as it happened in the past.Yes, only that Awo himself knew yoruba being in its own country was the best scenario for Yoruba thus, he initially wanted to pull Yoruba out of Nigeria until he was offered the finance minister. Indeed he had earlier threatened to secede if the east did. If Awo had acted in the best interest of Yoruba rather than his selfish interest, why are Yoruba today asking for break up of the country or a return to regionalism? Use your brain Bro, not your primitive sentiments. |

I hope GEJ understand it is poison chalice to fire a minister because one tribe is carrying out a media calumny on her. Every igbo minister have come under media mafia who periodically carry out a "must go" campaign on Igbo people in government. The issue isn't necessarily about the aviation minister, it is the ability of the President to do the right thing to protect every group from others that control the press. |
Absolutely YES! GEJ is unbeatable by the rag tag team of ex military officer and failed roundly corrupt politicians |

martyns303: OBJ please come n break d curse, Nigerians are being rejected everywhere.Nigerians are sometimes despicable animals. Only God knows the type of shady offence this so called diplomat was engaged in |
FreeGlobe: These enemies of igbo progress especially in the south west will not allow Nigeria's best aviation minister ever to focus on her job especially after the Enugu international airport became functional. I pity anyone that is deceived by their antics. They have not told us the minister stole money like fani kayode or tafa balogunYoruba people are sore losers . Sometimes it is best to ignore them. Their pettiness and tribalism does not have part 2 |
theoctopus: Updated: Tuesday, August 02, 2011Nobody complained because the yoruba bigots themselves were involved. Say if Peter Obi or any Igbo got a bullet proof Jeep. Chai ! all the forgotten yorubas even from the deepest slum of iseyin will be shouting! Yeye tribalists! |
Please, anyone with access to the Minister should tell her to beef up her security NOW! There is more than meets the eye to the determination of some people to force the Minister to resign. From a security point of view, if we as ordinary citizens see all these blackmail against the Honorable Minister to resign, you can imagine the tons of threats she has been receiving from these people. Like Prof. Dora Akunyili that nearly lost her life to an assassin's bullet for not taking the threats and blackmail to resign seriously, Princess Stella Oduah truly needs a bullet proof car if she likes her life. I hope she is not cowed by these blackmailers to leave her security with loop holes. These people will surely attempt to take her life after their media blackmail fails, if she is not proactive with her security. Perhaps that is why they are already so angry now, that she has beat them to it. Who knows? |

The minister is right to protect her life with bullet proof cars. Yoruba fanatics will kill her any chance they get |
victorv12: @true2god You're a disgrace to the entire Igbo race. Chinua Achebe, Zik and Sir Okpara will bow their heads in shame for your comments in their graves. You must definitely be an Igbo b*stard. The real Igbos that we know are educated elites that care less about acquiring material things that your present Igbo representatives are dying to have. And mind you, I'm a yoruba man. The comments you spewed regarding this fraud makes great minds like Chukwuma Nzeogwu died for nothing. You must be a true Igbo bastard!! It seems like you don't know what your leaders fought and died for! You better start educating yourself about your leaders how they fought effortlessly against people like you! It's high time the civil minded Igbos start critizing their own...we shouldn't reduce this topic to a tribal demeanor case. What the Minister did was uncalled for and it should be critizied by all Igbos!Be brave enough to agree your Yoruba tribe, stop trying to sound Igbo. The rate Yorubas want the minister' s head for internationalizing Enugu Airport, she is right to protect her life with bullet proof car. |
Sincere 9gerian: There is an ongoing ferocious attack and propaganda against the minister of aviation and all that she has achieved so far. The logic that opening up Enugu Airport to the outside world will kill the aviation sector is what I dont understand. The silly analysis obviously did not take into consideration the economic expansion in the region that will accompany the international Airport. With more economic expansion comes more traffic at both local and international Airports in the region. The argument that a whole region must be restricted to local flights just to encourage growth of the local airlines based in Lagos and Abuja is ridiculous, wicked and sillyJust that you know, that is precisely the reason why Yorubas want the minister's head on a platter. All the other silly reasons they give is simply a smokescreen. But come to think of it, those who embark on international flights often get to their destination by road not air. Those that fly locally often have a business to attend in their destination , so the thinking of mr Kenneth is just as wrong as it is silly. In any case, how many people use Enugu airport? If we are really serious about boosting local airlines buying his logic, closing down the Lagos airport which is by far the biggest and busiest will significantly boost local travel around the country . |
biafranqueen: My Dear you are welcome. I heard they are still trying to work out the location for Nnewi.@ the bolded, i completely agree! Nigeria for instance is such a cess-pool because some people have taken it upon themselves to play tribalism to every issue. The so called "Lagos press" of the old should have helped hold Nigerian leaders accountable, but no their function is simply and solely to promote yoruba interest. This mindset unfortunately made many leaders of Nigeria in the past to concentrate on stealing the money since those that should question them are busy trying to suppress and malign Igbo interest in Nigeria. I am also not a fan of Peter Obi, but i concurr he has truly achieved a lot. I did work as a nurse at the Onitsha General Hospital during the time Ngige was governor. He didn't do nothing for that hospital! Even though Ngige was a Dr. and did his housemanship in the same hospital, he just ignored healthcare delivery in Anambra state completely. Mind you, at that time, Onitsha General Hospital was the ONLY state owned tertiary hospital in Anambra State. We used to refer serious cases of stroke or maxillo-facial surgery for accident victims to Borromeo or Iyi-Enu Hospitals because they had the equipment, when the reverse should be the case! Peter has changed all that today and completely over hauled the hospital that now,it has regained its accreditation to train House Officers! So, Peter Obi understands that development isn't just building roads,it encompasses a lot more such as quality education, quality healthcare delivery, access to clean water, employment generation via attracting industries, development of agriculture to make food affordable etc. Ngige is a man that know how to do eye service and expertly deceive the undiscerning individual. He is a master of tricks and intrigues. He concentrated all his road work within one LGA and took endless pictures of the same road claiming he is building "Anambra roads" instead of calling it what it is "Alor roads". Imagine your shock if you are from nnewi,Ihiala,Awka,Onitsha or Anyamelu when you go back home and find the so called "Anambra roads" were heavily lopsided constructed roads around a single town of Alor and others mostly in the same LGA! He even moved the State university to his Village in Alor! So Anambra had such leader as Ngige simply because our people carried on with such "I don't care" attitude to politics and those who influence their lives. The minute Ngige rigged that 2003 elections, we should have come out on the street to demand that Peter Obi be given back the mandate we gave to him. Since we didn't do that, Ngige stayed on for 3 years until he was finally booted out by the courts. In this election, as usual Ngige has a lot of plans to rig his way into power. Our people must stay at the polling stations until all votes are cast, counted and result announced. We should use our mobile phones to record the events, take pictures of the result sheet if we can and text the results counted for each polling station to the APGA info. GSM number. That way, when Ngige and his thugs start their wuru wuru rigging to declare millions of votes from one polling booth or another, we can know exactly where they have falsified the numbers. Being responsible citizens means we have leaders who care about our situation and do something to better our lives. |
