For reasons best known to him,Obasanjo would not explore the use of clean coal technology to solve Nigeria's power problems.Apart from nuclear power, coal provides more than 46% of US electricity supply and China have used coal electricity plants to boost and sustain their electricity supply.South Africa obtains 50% of its electric power from coal. One Coal power plant will provide a massive amount of cheap electricity, which will take more than 5 expensive gas fired plants to provide. Until Nigeria utilize ALL sources of its natural endowment (Not just gas) to provide uninterrupted electricity,Nigeria's dream of having cheap stable electricity supply for the entire country will continue to be a mirage. |
If Shekau ever posts another youtube video to debunk this JTF claim, the JTF commander must resign o! |
6/10 so far in 2 years Without Boko Haram distraction,he could have already scored 8/10 |
Fashola may not be a dictator, but he definitely does not understand the delicate ethnic balance of Nigeria and most importantly, the vital importance of Lagos, the state he rules. I think he reads the unbridled tribalism taking place in nairaland and he runs off to act on it in the real world. Most of the tribalists here on NL are actually very nice, accomodating people. They utilize the anonymity of the internet to say things they wouldn't normally say, if they had to sign their real names. |
asha 80: the hotel construction na private thing na...i wonder if government can put a law to stop building of hotels in owerri..it is getting out of hand.....however i am still more interested in development of rural areas than urban ones. How does it affect you that Hotels are built in Owerri? Obviously,Owerri is catching up to years of dearth of new hotels after the Otokoto saga. The last time i checked, it costs money to build these edifices and furnish them to 4 or 5 star taste! If they realize the market is saturated, they will naturally stop and look for areas of other services lagging behind. Or are you one of the older hotel owners in Owerri keen on stopping more state of the art competitors from taking some of your business? ![]() |

tallfish145: wot shows dat he is a traitor dude?Incase you TRULY didn't know, the TRAITOR is CHRISTOPHER NGIGE !! |
cjrane: O'l boy, take your yeye advice and shove it where your shyt comes from.I personally believe a Yoruba man individually does not have anything against an Igbo person. There are so many nice and fair-minded Yoruba men as there are Igbo men. The demon arises only when Yoruba are in a group, they now abuse and plot against whoever cannot speak the language, not necessarily only at Igbos. They do the same to Hausa,Efik,Ibibio,Ijaw ,Itsekiri,Igala,Idoma,Berom or Tiv. |
Sometimes i just wonder if Igbos are crazy or just plain silly? Look at whom they made the chairman to screen gubernatorial aspirants for the ONLY state still controlled by APGA! Chief Tayo Sowunmi !! Why won't he make sure the best APGA candidates are screened out to make APC victory a walk over? Even with Ngige supporting Fashola's deportation of Igbos, apart from Soludo, nobody in APGA today can boast of being sure of defeating Ngige. Just like Ojukwu gave the command of his most expeditionary mission to Major Victor Banjo! We all know that the collapse of Biafra started after Banjo systematically did what he had to do. Igbo truly do not learn. |
Peter Obi should BAN Okada (Motorcycle taxi) in at least Onitsha. Criminals have been using Okada to rob passers by. It makes passing through Onitsha a hellish thing for a woman. . |
@ cjrane, Gbam!!! ![]() |
When it comes to arguing about the "Right" of Lagos to collect a lion share of money from Federal Allocation,Lagos claim the Igbos as citizens! After collecting the money, they deport them to Anambra "to unite them with their people"! ![]() |
A complete waste of time. This is the worst period for a Yoruba Party to win in Anambra. The leaders of the East and West must begin afresh the handshake across the Niger project. |
Ngige, the diminutive comedian again! He didn't build a single IPP nor even sponsor any bill at the senate for almost 4 years nor even to oppose an evil bill, such as the child marriage authorization bill. But he will be at the forefront of politics giving himself credit for what he doesn't even know how it happened. ![]() |
Donchyke39: ANAMBRA State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Chief Joe-Martin Uzodike yesterday announced that pensioners who retired from the Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ABS) and National Light Newspapers would be tackled promptly by Governor Peter Obi.Those that "retired" from ABS were never really properly employed by the state government. It was all the rot that happened in Anambra when Col. Mike Attah allowed the then commissioner for information to flood the ABS with thousands of unemployed youths from his community and those who could pay N300,000 naira then to the Military Administrator through the Commissioner. Most of the "employed" youths could barely spell their names, talkless of writing a correct sentence in English! Indeed, most people on the pay roll were ghost workers that never showed up for work, but were collecting salaries every month.I know because i was closely allied to the ABS at that point in time. Unfortunately,in Nigeria, once you are "employed", no government can rectify the anomaly. The cleansing of the rot that happened in Anambra will be difficult and expensive.Gov. Obi has the heart of a lion to attempt bring that state back to life from it's hitherto failed state status. Anyhow, thanks to the Governor for giving them retirement benefits as though they were truly workers. |
I like those Tricycles. It looks like the prototype being developed in India.I hope it is popularized in Nigeria so that Tricycle taxi ride becomes a little more comfortable to the passengers. |
While i must thank America for its concern, there is really no need to waste American resources or time trying to keep the unworkable, fundamentally irreconcilable peoples together in one hellish country. Even if America elects to play the role the British played almost 50 years ago to help preserve Nigeria's unity, the urge to cheat and have an unbalanced federation will make whoever are the victors to carry on as if they could suppress freedom of others forever.Consequently, like the British, they will realize they have made fundamental error of judgement after the coming civil war. In other words,Nigeria is eternally condemned to disintegrate at some point in history, because its leaders and politicians would rather divide its peoples than find a way to key all equal under the same flag. Nigeria therefore must be allowed to its destiny to die a natural death from injustice and hate. |
geeez: Videos watchedShee bi you know that bad belle is curable if you drink mad woman urine? Just a word of advise for your disease. |
Let the Northerners stage their coup NOW or STFU! |
WHERE IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR DATA?
So why are they still commenting and arguing on false imagination of a NL fraudster? Perhaps this is another thread of the schizophrenic Musiwa? |
Good conjecture. But Ejike is the way he is and Sambo is who he is because Nigeria continues to exist in the same flawed way it is. We should all fundamentally agree that Nigeria is a fraud and then swear to fight hard and fix it for everyone or determine to make sure it breaks up for good. Black people fought the white colonialists and apartheid regimes, why not fight fellow black colonialists and proponents of apartheid style system? The issue is that we have continued to live on false hope that it will somehow, someway get better... AND IT SHALL NEVER ! We are makers of our own destiny. What we allow, shall prevail. |
Una no oust Obasanjo for 8 wasted years doing nothing but stealing billions of dollars pretending to be doing NIPP and petroleum subsidy, after he refused to appoint a Minister for petroleum. It is now that the country has started developing again. BTW,who will replace Pres. GEJ? Babangida,Buhari or Tinubu? ![]() |
I wonder how these people come about these indices. The Lagos GDP larger than that of Nairobi and Mombasa combined, not to talk of other parts of Kenya? These figures are clearly inflated
Even though i hate it when Nigeria is compared to small African states to make it appear very very prosperous, instead of to Indonesia,Iran or Turkey as it should be, statistics is what it is. BTW, you say that because you haven't been to Lagos.Lagos accounts for 25% of Nigeria's GDP. It will be interesting to know if Nairobi is bigger than Kano and if Mombasa is bigger than Abuja or Port Harcourt. Anyhow, like i said, statistics is what it is. |
Let me just say that, if the man of God, Prophet TB Joshua actually opened his mouth to say issue those warnings, then President Jonathan must TAKE HIS WORDS SERIOUSLY. Prophet TB Joshua is not the type that goes around issuing empty talk. Pres. GEJ should send emissaries to SCOAN. |
Will a positive news like this ever make it to front page? If it were,Nigeria's economy shrinks to size of Kenya's it would have had 2000 ethnic posts bashing Pres. GEJ |
lumzybo: I'm expecting a new xtian name to be announced soon. Hehehehehe.....Pastor TB Joshua does not encourage his church members to change their religion or christian denomination. Muslims attend his church and pray with him to God. If you watch Emmanuel TV,you will sometimes see people who are muslims. They still worship in their mosque after prayers with Pastor TB Joshua. That is why his Ministry is named for ALL NATIONS. No human being is ever discriminated against there because of race or religion. We are all children of the Almighty God. |
After the cease fire, what next? Money will change hands, promises of opulence will be made, while the heinous crime Committed against the innocent will be thrown into the obliviion of forgetfulness . God, please help me understand the complicity of the human mind.....(impossible you guys may say)
The king pins of this violence such as Shekau and his henchmen should face the law.Just like Henry Okah and Niger Delta henchmen faced the law, even after the foot soldiers had been given amnesty. |
