Why is it costing £100 to fill up tank of an average car in UK? |

In the first place, how can you be crying and praying for a better country, but you have Atiku and Tinubu as your best choice?
Is that not pure madness in the highest order?
You're suffering oo, and you're still the diehard fans your slave master!! What kind of human being do that??
A master strategy who brought upon Nigerians a disastrous leader in form of buhari, you want to reward him with Presidency for a job Weldon abi.
He's now telling you he wants to solve the problems the buhari he brought created. Pure foolishness.
You know in your subconscious that you're toying the wrong line, but that spirit of suffering in you must make sure you don't apply common sense.
That's how majority of you did in 2015, and you're still the most affected person by your masters unfortunate leadership, sorry oo.
Even if it would only be my vote LP garnered that day, I will feel fulfilled. Nigerians didn't select Tinubu and Atiku! They were selected by delegates that shiny when number up to 10000 in total! That's why I tell people all this hullabaloo about getting your pvc is a scam! We are voting with a snake and a serpent as our choices. What kind of election is that? Much as I prefer PO to those two, he himself is not without blemish in my view, but just a better option. |

Madeu: [/b]
You made a beautiful remark and ended up with a dumb assertion. Being eloquent doesn't imply having a higher mental function. Einstein, Elon Musk, and even Tesla, and great introverts are known to have poor ability to make free-flowing speeches to arouse the crowd. Who said anything about elequence!? Sure elequence might help, but it's more about content and the thinking capacity of the brain. Did you ever listen to speeches by Awolowo, Azikiwe and well educated politicians of old? Compare to speeches by politicians of today, who have Internet and soo many tools. You can't buy quality education the types of Awo had compared to what a Fayose would have had. And that is the issue. When you met a standard 6 student in the 50's you had a certain expectation of quality. Today, you will meet Nigerian first class that cannot engage you in decent conversation on any topical subject. |
Education › Re: Entire Graduating Class With LLM At The University Of Calgary Are All Nigerians by COMPAQ(m): 10:17am On Jun 03, 2022 |
SugarGirl44: You're wrong. You need to be very smart to have high grades, and that smartness would help you wherever you find yourself, if properly trained.
I presume you mean in the last paragraph that not being eloquent in English means one is a failure. Mastery of English language isn't a thing of joy as we've been programmed to believe. That 17 year old that performed well speaks only English and has been thinking with English from childhood. You can't compare that with us who have our language but have to change to another language entirely. Our original setting has been disturbed to believe our language isn't good enough for anything, which is a great lie.
Don't have time to type much, hope you get me sha. Nope I wasn't referring to his English. There were 3 high-school graduates that gave speeches. Was struck me was the structure, the content, the thought provoking nature of the speeches. Speeches that made me sit and ponder. How many times in sec school in Nigeria did you have to present a paper you researched to your class? It was all about copying notes from a teacher and then regurgitating for exams. Even in university, I never had to present a paper in class. It was just attend lecture, copy note and then put it back down for exam. No development of the mind to really think about the why and what of certain concepts. Here in US, primary school students make presentations in class on a steady basis. And that is what helps develops speech making abilities, leadership abilities, organisational abilities. Doesn't mean all US students are super smart, but on average they think better, are more confident and are more creative. Bottom line is that the Nigerian educational delivery system is archaic!! |

Nigerians are academically smart, but unfortunately it doesn't result in capacity to get things done.
If you bring these people to nigeriabto head small organisation I won't be surprised they will struggle to do so.
Success in organisations is beyond just having a big degree. Its more of leadership skills, problem solving skills, organisational skills, creativity and innovation and that is where Nigerians struggle because our pre university education doesn't prepare us for that.
I was recently at a hugh school graduation in Houston and come and see speeches given by 17year old! It will be difficult to find even a first class graduate in Nigeria to stand on a stage, face 1000 parents and deliver a sensible, rousing, thought provoking speech. |

Yankiss: The preaching continues. I personally believes he can make a difference if elected. But as VP he was a super flop. Can you compare PYO with Tunde Idiagbon, the then Chief of Staff Supreme headquarters under same Buhari? Tunde effectively pocketed Buhari and made far-reaching differences that were erroneously attributed to Buhari, hence the mess we are in. Comparing Millitary dictatorship to civilian democracy doesn't make much sense!! |
Politics › Re: Osinbajo Is Buhari's Preferred Candidate Ahead Of APC Primary - Independent by COMPAQ(m): 11:15am On Jun 01, 2022 |
Xbobtage: Realistically speaking, neither Tinubu nor Osibanjo can defeat atiku in the presidential election. The reason being that Peter Obi is still running the race in a third party. Peter Obi will siphon most of the votes in the SE/SS annnnnd, alot of progressive yorubas will also vote for him, when you consider that osibanjo has been part of this government that has decimated nigeria. If we are projecting that Atiku will win atleast 65 percent of the votes in the north, then the only southern candidate who can win him must be one who can drain igbo votes. Yes igbos usually vote less in election times, but the igbo vote is looking like what will be the swing vote this election if the apc picks a yoruba candidate.
All Atiku has to do now pick another igboic VP and its game over, which ever way you look at it.
An alternative for APC might be that they pick Amaechi, who then picks a very strong northerner like El rufai or Prof from Bornu. Amaechi might be able to drain igbo votes from Obi, with a huge support from the SS and maybe 15% support from SW.
Point here is, now that Atiku is the PDP flag bearer, and obi is still running, If APC wants to win the presidency they will be making a risky move picking a Yoruba candidate. I see your point and indeed it is very difficult for anyone not from the North. But what if Osinbajo picks El Rufai. If Buhari also joins Osinbajo on the campaign trail up north, it will decimate Atiku somewhat because Buhari still enjoys fanatical support up north. Besides more northern states are APC now than there were in 2019. Also there are more APC states in SE/SS than before (Ebonyi/Cross river). The clincher though would be getting a deal with the PDP SE/SS states that are disgruntled like Wike. If that were to happen Osinbajo and any non northern APC candidate would stand a chance. Even if APC candidate were to be Tinubu, it would be hard. Possibly harder sef, cos Buhari won't campaign for him. |
