BluDesk: Because it's not an open playing field. If the government opens the industry and make it open rather than close, Nigerians will buy cement for 2500 per bag. Smack that
What is not open about it? Is anybody stopping Lafarge or Bua from establishing new plants? Which company wouldn't like to make more money?
CSTRR: The price of dangote cement is cheaper in Cameroon.
Is Cameroon more developed than Nigeria?
What is dangote getting in Cameroon that he is not getting double in Nigeria?
Don't be surprised electricity is better in Cameroon. As well as roads and corruption. Go to ordinary Cotonou and see quality of roads and compare with lagos badagry expressway.
koning: Are you all eating through your noses?!. What kind of dumbazz analysis am i reading here in the comment section.
That ex-factory price of N2,510 is the major problem.
Does Dangote expect me to carry 100 bags of cement on my head to the construction site......ALL BY MYSELF?!
So he should make loss at N1. 5k
The ex-factory price should not exceed N1,500. By the time it gets to the retailers, it would sell for around N2,100. Just loaders charge about N50 per bag.
If Dangote really wants to help Nigerians, that ex-factory price should not be more than N1,500
trilacos: they talk about dangote because dangote dictate the prices.i can bet it with you that if dangote reduce it today, other brands will reduce it too.
So if its that straightforward, why don't lafarge reduce their own prices to create more demand for their own cement. After all economics 101 says with reduced price comes increased demand.
This man is obviously lying. Factory price can't be #2,500 because no retailer will add #1,500 to it and sell at #4,000. The factory price should be between#3,000- #3,300 which is too expensive. Most of what he so facing in Nigeria is also there in other countries that his companies are so why is Nigeria own different when he is even enjoying more in Nigeria and Nigeria have more than twice of the population of other countries
So you think! You don't know the heart of Middle men in Nigeria is desperately wicked.
That ramp is narrow and doesn't look sturdy. With the amount of times we do this in Nigeria, given that we import thousands of cars into Nigeria in this fashion, shouldn't we have a better, more secure way of offloading cars from containers??
MansoryMX: See the nonsense coming out of this own mouth. Dangote factories in the South? Who swear give this one!
Maybe you are the silly one:
Dangote Refinery and Peteochemical - Lagos Dangote Cement - Ibeshe, Ogun State Dangote Cement - Obajana, Kogi State Dangote Cement - Gboko, Benue State Dangote Sugar Refinery - Apapa, Lagos National Salt Company - Apapa & Oregun, Lagos; Port Harcourt, Rivers State and Ota, Ogun State. Dangote Fertilizer, Lekki FTZ, Lagos Dangote Automotive - Enugu (old ANAMCO site) Dangote Rice Farm, Nassarawa State Dangote Polysack - Kano (I think)
indigene: Let's see the package. Will it be able to power 21inch LED tv, 6 points of 5watts solar bulbs, FTA Decoder, charge phones on demand? But before then, take advantage of this promo package that will end on May 8, 2021.

2 pcs of 150AH America neptune solar gel battery PLUS 1.5kva 24v Amaron Tribal inverter, including delivery to any location in Lagos and Port Harcourt City. Price excludes battery rack and any modifications to install the system.
You will get over 9hours uniterupted power. See my signature
I am looking for batteries that are flat and slim like Tesla power wall rather than these car battery type of battery.
By now Nigeria should have 2 heavily armed drones doing 24hr surveillance of Maiduguri and environs. Once these guys show up in their gun trucks, remote controllers of these drones swoop in to attack with gps and laser guided bombs and missiles.
Why are we making this conflict harder than it needs to be. If America won’t support us, we should go to Israel, China or Russia to contract that drone service to us. The drone operator can be safely inside the army HQ in Borno.
Some drones can stay in the air for 24hours straight.
Odogwu46: The truth is, if the northerners want anything from the South, East and West they get it no matter the price attached. Just mark my words this is the purpose for rebuilding the those rail tracks not for passengers use.
After this laying of pipe from warri to Kaduna those trail and tracks will be abandoned.
Only God will help this country.
I get where you are coming from. We have all been mentally abused by the antics of our politicians and government. But even at that, your comments are a bit shallow. Besides, Wakki to Itakpe is not a high passenger traffic route, so passenger traffic on the train could never have been the idea. As any one in Nigeria knows, the train was designed to serve Ajaokuta steel complex. If the line is extended from Akaokuta to Abuja, it can connect from there to Kano and can serve as a means of heavy duty equipment to that axis from the port and movement of food from that axis to Warri port for export.
What matters is that the rail is made to run economically and on a commercial basis to benefit the wider economy.
Meanwhile companies across the country are already talking to NRC to see train can be used to move stuff and businesses will spring up around the corridor, but instead of seeing opportunity you focus on the northern southern politics.
plaindealer: 30 Year abandoned project completed, commissioned and put into use in less than 3 years.
To God Be The Glory
A great day to be a proud Nigeria
With a great, focused, patriotic and dedicated Nigerian leader, we can achieve anything.
God Bless PMB
God Bless Nigeria.
This is the real value of the railway - movement of heavy freight cheaply and efficiently across the country. It’s less about moving passengers from Lagos to Kano, though that is an added bonus.
If trucks were to move what is on this train, about 20 trucks would be required, with attendant nuisance and destruction of the roads.
OSFRA is wrong no doubt, but the activities of some of these developers must be sanitised. Sometimes the way they construct, you would wonder if any sensible, and educated person works in those companies.
Too eager to build and sell house, and that they then become a nuisance to everyone living there.
Uncharted56: Take what they say by a grain of salt, I use solar and I know how expensive this system is although it's worth it sha but the federal govt should focus on fixing the most important sectors first like security, universities, roads and eventually part of the job sector (cos some of us are self employed), not white elephant projects all the time and even at that they haven't told us what this solar can power and what it cannot, they are better off making solar systems cheaper and affordable or give discounts for buying one so as to encourage the movement like they're doing in the states in the form of rebates.
My brother be like say you know wetin dey everybody mind while reading that post
Omoluabi1stborn: Its not possible to target 25million Nigeria home through Solar power. Esp. From Federal Government
As far as I'm concerned, this program is overrated. They will put one or two solar panels on people's roof in villages, enough to just power light bulbs, radio and maybe a small standing fan and they will claim they have provided that household electricity!
If the house cannot power anything really useful like TV sets or a fridge or tools, not sure what value it brings.
suxy: Nigerians needs more companies to employ the graduates on ground and also a well articulated curriculum that will inculcate practical skills in our youths not just some monologue institutions
Well said. The Nigerian curriculum is hopelessly outdated! A graduate in Nigeria has most likely NEVER stood before a class to present a paper! Something primary 6 kids in US do.
Many graduates in Nigeria have NEVER used a computer. Something primary 6 kids in US use regularly.
Many science students in Nigeria NEVER worked in a proper science lab. Something high school students in US do every other day.
pocohantas: Meanwhile, I thought we all agreed there is no money. So where una dey see this money?
Kedu ebe unu n’afu ego a, biko gosi m. Onye ajuju anaghi efu uzo.
“Driving a Tesla in Nigeria”. The attached picture is a joke o. Maybe it did happen, I’m not sure.
Not likely to have happened. Anyone who can buy and bring a Tesla into Nigeria should have the means to recharge it. As bad as electricity is in Nigeria, it doesn't mean parts of the country don't have at least 15hours of electricity a day, especially in Abuja.
hartoyebi38: It's funny, by the time this man become the president, Nigeria will know that Buhari is better. abeg I can't laugh much.
It's impossible!! No one can be as bad as Buhari!!
At least Tinubu has the brain power to steal using the veil of companies who are actually providing a service - no matter how expensive. Buhari doesn't even have that sense!!
Boye33: Lagos debt status is quite understandable, at the end, the investments in the eko Atlantic city, lekki free trade zone and Dangote refinery would spike up revenue in the state. .
What I don't understand is what Osun state is looking for in number two. That state should have declared bankruptcy by now, with the way things are going, their debts would go higher than Lagos with no feasible plan of repaying and not much economic activity going on. .
I can't remember when I even read a news piece from the state. It appears the current governor Oyetola who was thought to bring succor due to his economic background is just sitting around, borrowing money and paying salaries.
Dangote refinery and Eko Atlantic are private projects. Lagos state government has never gone on record to say that have invested in these projects as Lagos State.
Housing: The article is full of half information, Lagos IGR in three months is greater than it's annual Federal allocation, which was used to calculate the revenue and debit ratio. The answer from the article is not factual, real nor justify realty on ground. Lagos State pays salaries and pensions regularly, able to meet all it's financial obligations as and when due. A States that generate an average IGR of N38Billion per month.
Yeah, indeed the report seems very incomplete and inaccurate.
Report seems suspect as it suggests Lagos revenue is less than N200bln. Perhaps the report is not counting federal allocation and only looking at IGR. If so, what is this is an apple pears comparison, as the states were only able to incur these debts due to total revenue profile, regardless of if its IGR or allocation.
Jacuzzi is over rated in Nigeria. What most of us do is shower not bath. Only in Nigeria someone has a jacuzzi and stands inside it with bucket.
Having a bath in reality means filling up the jacuzzi or tub with water, putting in essential oils and soaps and then soaking in it for some time before scrubbing yourself down.
Who does that in Nigeria? Who even has time for it?
