Omooba77: Why do many people fear death? Death is just transition from one realm to another, if you have Jesus, going to heaven should be a thing of joy.
Death is the fear many join occultism, doing rituals and so on. There's nothing like Jesus. Even you don't realise that |

irijuola: Hiiiiiii I'm kinda ashamed to type this here but the kain laugh wey my Indian housemates use me laugh today warrants say make I ask for help. Whenever I cook beans or make vegetables in the shared kitchen, it smells so awful though this doesn't affect the taste. I'm a good Nigerian cook . Even me perceive the shitty smell. The whole kitchen plus corridors had the stink. There was a day I prepared Afang and went for midnight shift. The next morning, the shitty stink was still in the air. Now, shame don dey catch me on top my food. I've been thinking, maybe I should just adapt and start making sandwiches, etc. Funny thing is that my Indian housemates food also smell but the smell is that of a heavily spiced 'indian' food and is 'kinda' not bad laidat. This evening, I had to spray the kitchen with air freshener, even at that, the smell is still there.
Help!!! What should I do to eradicate this smell. Note, the kitchen has vent and air conditioning. Your option is to adapt. Must you eat Nigerian food all day? Including Afang, beans, dodo, etc. Can't you just adapt? You are in a different country where there are different norms and perceptions. You should learn to adapt. I'm sure you have adapted in other ways, but this food thing, una no dey ever gree leave am. That taste bud that looks like it can't eat sandwich is something you can train to survive less and less on Nigerian food. If you don't eat Nigerian food, you won't die. There are other options and you musn't cook everyday. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 70k Operation Executive Job In Edu-training Or 140k Store Manager Hotel Job. by CountVersailles(f): 11:51pm On Oct 09, 2021 |
VitalRock: Hi Guys,
Please I need sincere and candid opinions. I resumed duty as an operation executive recently with an Edu-training company. Be then, I had interviewed for a Store manager job in an hotel on the Island 3 months back. I was supposed to start the store manager job but they didn't get back to me anymore. I reached out to the HR and she said her boss is not saying anything. I had to move on. Now that I just resumed this operations job, they reached out to me and even increased the initial offer. Their reason for delaying was because they were renovating.
My Dilemma: After struggling so much with myself I stupidly approached the HR of my Operations Job this morning to let her know about the development. She asked that if they increased my salary whether I will stay. She offered 90k and I asked them to push to 100k that I would. She relayed every details of our conversation with the owners of the business and they were like I used them as a backup and today should be my last day. However, the husband came back to say I should spend my 2 weeks notice while they get a replacement.
Meanwhile, before the operation's job, I got a Customer Support Specialist role for the same 70k ( and now they are still reaching out to me on a new offer of 100k), I chose the Operation job over it for so many reasons but primarily because I was bonding with my new team very well and liked it there. 3 months later, the hotel is reaching out to me with a basic of 120k, free lunch, transport allowance, data allowance and HMO.
I feel terrible right now. My Mind is with the Edu-training but my body is with the hotel. Please advise.
Quick-one, I asked the HR If they will reconsider their decision If i decide to stay and her response was that they will think about it. Whatever job you choose, you can't stay with that Edu-training coy anymore. You already bleeped that up. Look at your other two opportunities. |

Moreover, if you are doing a PhD because lucrativeness, maybe you should stop now and do something else. Because, down the line lucrativeness will vanish and only passion will carry you through.
Again, do what’s best for you. Is PhD even lucrative? |

InTheCloudySky: NO, you should not kill your Dad.
1. Killing is murder
2. Killing an ill individual without an advanced directive from them is murder
3. Killing ( the correct word is "euthanizing/euthanize" ) an ill individual in Nigeria is a crime under the criminal code. Even if euthanasia were legal, it must be done with an advanced directive in place; in a Hospital; by an assigned, certified Physician; using the proper method; and be documented/have documentation.

hahn: I swear saving for long term is just ridiculous.
OP, instead of building a house you can buy acres of land and plant crops instead. Foodstuffs are rising and now is the ideal time to go into agriculture. Your land will appreciate in value and you'll earn extra income selling your crops during harvest.
About marriage just leave it for now. Not all women are ready to be with you through thick and thin.
Don't let your mother lead to making a bad choice Strong word here. Really sad that not all women are ready for a hard time. |

InvestorO: Hello in house Doctors,My niece got hit by hot boiling water on her stomach and leg late yesterday night when her mum was about to bathe her, details from her are still sketchy as this was the only thing she said when she called early this morning on the phone....
The ambulance took them to where she was given birth to but was rejected and they were referred to another hospital in another city where they were hurriedly taken away in an helicopter to an emergency in the referred hospital...
PLS WHAT HER CHANCES AND HOW CRITICAL IS IT ?...Searched the internet to get informations that will give me some hope and make me calm but found nothing yet
The only positive is they are not in a Nigerian hospital where medical attentions are delayed but in Europe....
pardon my errors and typos I don't like this kind of things. Haba! She could have been more careful. Or not boil hot water separately for the kid. Why not just use the regular mix of hot and cold water that comes out of the tap? Each time she boiled hot water, she was severely endangering the life of the child. It's like putting petrol beside fire. I honestly blame her for this. |

JimmyDarmody: Sequel to this thread; https://www.nairaland.com/6765187/careers-women-turn-off-man#106048053
I think a married woman should not have to work. Your wife stands to be treated as a subordinate and even disrespected by her bosses. Some may try to make advances. A man should make enough money to a point that his wife does not have to work too.
What do you think ? What kind of stupid thinking is this? You should go back to living in the 12th century. That'll suit you much better. |

welzyj2: My dear what you might be getting wrong is the fact that I'm implying he shld be extravagant- which is far from my point really
I'm not saying he shld change his car weekly or so move out of houses daily- I'm just saying he should take care of himself more. Do you know the stress he will be having with his current car? Or those he will be facing where is currently stays?? (Except he plans to complete his personal apartment soon, then he can endure the accomodation wahala)
I liked every bit of the story but these other points are red flags for a person earning 1.7m Monthly Did he tell you he's having any stress with his current car? Or did he mention that his neighbours were starting to disturb him? If his car is working fine, why change it? You need to understand that. Not everyone desires to show off. He's not going to have that job for life. |

welzyj2: Keep guessing when you could have avoided my comment.
I'm not talking about splashing. My comment is about giving yourself comfort- only someone who is still gathering up shouldn't think of comfort. But judging the OP's level, a 3 bedroom isn't a big deal neither is a muscle. Except if the OP is greedy to himself and children
God won't let me see problem of having $130k investment without a personal car at least.
Your comment on the office car clearly shows your kind of personality really. (You stated the wrong reason not to have a car dear) With this your outlook, I don't think you'll ever understand |

welzyj2: Na only him choice of ride and apartment dey feel cooked up.
At the level he is now, he shouldn't be staying in a mini flat and drive a low end car. Even if he is frugal, a muscle is still understandable and a 3 bedroom (due to the fact he has a partner and kids)
Nice story till it got to his expenses sha You clearly have no idea that most people who have a lot of money don't splash it that often. I'm guessing that's because you don't have. I can totally relate to his posts and his spending. I have over $130k across various investments and don't even have a car. I don't need it. The office car does the job well enough. |

You might not notice there's , a hidden camera... Just like the one beside that plug... Good thing is my colleagues noticed it .. So we immediately covered it... We thought at first it was just for cable But my colleague noticed it right away... I won't mention the hotel... The important thing is you should be aware... That's it... It might just help... Good luck Why won't you mention the name of the hotel and think this post helps? You might as well not have posted anything. |
