There is a difference between poor, broke educated dude who has not landed his dream job or just got a let me manage job and an uneducated, no vision broke dude.

Ideally, I do not advise people to marry outside their spectrum. I have said it here severally that I can neither marry an uneducated mechanic nor can I marry a Governor's son except I am led that either is my husband.

I have nothing in common with either of them. The mechanic might tell me that it is a sin/ laziness to use washing machine; the Governor's son might tell me that he wants a party or there is nothing wrong in taking coke.

I know this is a generalization before people eat me raw.

So I think it is over ambitiousness for a guy/lady to marry far outside their spectrum. (except led of course.)
Then you should understand that your point about broke dudes getting married every Saturday, does nothing to invalidate the fact that women generally seek men with more financial standing, neither does it prove that women generally don't care about financial power.

These broke men that are getting married each Saturday are still mostly economically better off than the women marrying them, so it is still a valid proof of the importance of finance in relationships.
Even on the broke spectrum, there are levels...and choosing a man who is just one level higher is always a much better deal for women than choosing one who is on the same broke level as they are.
Family › Re: The Disconnect: Mode Of Disflowering Versus Incidence Of Pedophile Rape by crackhaus: 5:50pm On Dec 27, 2019
In a society where pre-marital sex is still seen as a vice, it's not unusual that women will want to keep their perceived virtue intact by stating their first sexual encounter occurred without their consent (rape).

Note that unless the lady was abused as a child, which is where paedophilic rapes count, a teen who had a boyfriend, an adolescent who found herself in the company of guys her age, or even an adult who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, could all very easily claim to have been raped their first time just for the reason that they never wanted to have sex, but were made to it after several attempts by the guy involved.

The latter category (excluding child abuse) is almost always the prevailing category most of these women fall under, and it is the reason why some men find it hard believing the deflowered via rape claims.

As if broke dudes don't marry every Saturday undecided

A lot if women senseless chase money, yes.

Still, a lot of women marry men they love and whom loved them every Saturday.

Rich, average, poor or outright jobless.
Are these broke, poor, jobless dudes marrying the likes of Tiwa, Chidinma or Mo Abudu...or are the women they are marrying every Saturday still not within the same spectrum? grin

I responded directly to the post I quoted.

You guys are the ones that started the fights that was why I did not answer Crackhaus' question as regards my husband chasing me.

You guys stared ruining the thread at that point.
I'm sorry but I must protest.
What does not answering my question have to do with the fights?
Is it you and I that are fighting? cheesy
Family › Re: Is This A Healthy Dose Of Self Esteem Or Should I Be Worried? by crackhaus:
bukatyne:
It does not work that way.

It is also possible that the lady the guy is shown is not his standard and he fights it for a while.

Sometimes, it is the lady that is shown the man and she has to subtly convince him to meet her.

Even for relationships where God leads them to their spouses, they still need to work at it.

There is just a certain assurance that your efforts are not in vain and some issues will not crop up.
Bukatyne there is no point arguing this, the ways of God are not partial. I have seen and heard of so many cases of men who claim God told them a certain woman will be their wife only for the woman to turn him down simply because she has not received such ministration from God, as she should.

It does not matter whether the woman is his standard or not because when God is involved, there is really no need to fight for it or being convincing because God is perfect and just and has done all the fighting and convincing on behalf of everyone involved.
A spiritually mature Christian man would even pray for God to make his steps fruitful by making the sister pliable to his request - this is why such ventures should always go smoothly.

Working at relationships after they have begun is not the subject of our conversation here, we are talking about the meeting/courting/wooing phase.

What irritates me the most about this thread is the op. He claims he's lonely, asks if he should worried by his approach, agrees with everyone that says no, disagrees with everyone that calls him out, claims to be unbothered, but created TWO threads today in which he complains about his loneliness. His approach is already final, yet he seeks opinions and validations and as mentioned earlier, complains about loneliness.

*****
If my answer to this post (me stating why I am irritated by this thread) is you intepretating it as me saying he needs a woman to cure his loneliness, then this discussion is over.
It was over before it started my dear, you were only just doing a sleek cat-chase of your own tail to my amusement.

There is God's will in marriage.

Take it or leave it.
bukatyne:
If you are someone spiritual enough to be led to a lady, then you would chase her extra.

If you feel that there are plenty fishes in the sea and you can point and kill, no need wasting a lot of time.

I believe in soul mates and that one person perfect for you. Most people rely on God to lead them to the person. Picking your soul mate from 3 billion people is an herculean task.

Of course, you can marry others and the marriage will be OK.
Lol, Buka Buka.. cheesy

As you don involve God for the matter, you must also know that the spirit of God is not partial. If God was indeed involved and spiritually led a man to choose a soulmate, then there would absolutely be no need for him to chase that lady in futility, or 'extra' as you put it.
Do you know why? Because God would have also ministered to the woman and made it known to her beforehand that the man is indeed her man, and she will as a matter of fact be 'easy' (for lack of a better word) to succumb.

The chase, extra chase, excessive chase is NOT the will of God, Allah, or Sango, or of a man, or even of Satan. grin
It is only in a woman's interest to be chased, begged, cajoled, and wooed excessively - It certainly provides some sense of worth and importance I imagine.

I want you to quote where exactly I stated that the loneliness op feels is not occasional.

I also want you to quote where exactly I stated having a female is the cure of his loneliness.
You must be joking if you expect me to go quoting your posts from previous pages.

The conservation between you and mindfulness was centered around his lack of a relationship with a woman, not a single mention of self-esteem was made in that exchange.
She made fun of him by implying that men will continue to beg women, you jumped in on that and by the end, you stated that he will wake up tomorrow still feeling lonely.

I then used your comment to give him a notice to ignore your statement and in general the entire exchange, because women are not the cure to his loneliness or anyone's loneliness for that matter.

Your next response was full throttle damage-control by backpedaling and trying to claim you were actually talking about his self-esteem, and not women.
I then proceeded to lecture you that self-esteem has nothing to do with the type of loneliness the OP feels because what he feels is occasional loneliness - which by the way, if you already knew, you would never have ascribed it to self-esteem.

Now tell me, have I left anything out, or what the bejesus are you running around in circles for?
Family › Re: Is This A Healthy Dose Of Self Esteem Or Should I Be Worried? by crackhaus:
fieryy:
And what exactly are you doing? Aren't we all technically assuming and therefore diagnosing? Or are they 'invalid diagnoses' because they are assumptions op doesn't agree with.

I could be right, you could be right. I'm just stating my opinion, as well as you are stating yours.
Girl can't you read?
The OP already stated clearly that what he feels is occasional loneliness because he spends time working and reading, yet there are times he still just feels lonely.
This is not what self-esteem causes, but boredom.

It's not a matter of you could be right or I could be right, when the OP has already determined who is right.

And where in my post did I say a woman is a cure for his loneliness? I'm simply calling him out for what also you think he is : "confident".

OP is everything, but confident. I already talked about this earlier. Loneliness is SOMETIMES attributed to a low-self esteem, which I believe applies to Op's case as well.
Well you have answered yourself, what you believe is invalid as you cannot make a diagnosis over the internet.

Bouts of/occasional loneliness can be cured just by engaging in activities that keep the mind occupied - it has absolutely nothing to do with self esteem. Long spans of loneliness are caused by depression which could be a self-esteem issue.

The OP however clearly characterized himself in the former.

You can imagine someone implying that the OP will remain lonely because he has no woman.
What else would be responsible for this brand of illusion if not the syndrome?

I guess you can only help those who want to be helped. Op might be here feeling himself now, happy that people are agreeing with him etc, but this is only temporary. He's still going to wake up feeling lonely tomorrow.
Take note uninspired07, having a woman by your side is NOT the cure for loneliness.
Don't let that feeble attempt at striking your confidence take hold.

I learnt dat mistake via a bitter lesson,
Four years ago, I had everything a young man will want, a good job I loved, a house, a car and married to d love of my life and expecting a child.
Then my pregnant wife died. And I was lonely and bitter and angry and couldn't work. Then I got involved with a single mom just to have a semblance of that dream life I had, and that's how I opened the doors for the devil in my life.
Thank God I got out after 2 years and had to face the grief I was running from, dealt with myself and got straight again with life instead of chasing fantasies.
But two years is long enough to do damages...
Grief and loneliness can be terrible, but we just need to accept and deal with it than seek other relationships
The best solution is always to seek ways to deal with the loneliness you feel and after you succeed, then you can get a woman.

The reasons for this include but are not limited to:
1. You will be more attuned to selecting a woman with near-perfect accuracy...ergo, you will not be motivated by the need to fill a vacuum.
2. You will not need her as an emotional anchor during the course of the relationship because you are very stable in your own emotions.
3. You will not tolerate her bad behaviour for fear of losing her.
4. If she does end up breaking up with you, you will not return to that feeling of emptiness and loneliness.

This is what happens when people put themselves on a pedestal for no other worthy reason except having pum pums.

You don't have the patience to indulge, chase, or beg, it's because you have an ego.
You want to have some financial legroom before embarking on relationships because women require it, you have low self-esteem.
You speak about the realities as they are, and you're being disrespectful, bashful, & insulting. cheesy

The princess-complex is as real as it comes.

@ uninspired07, I hope you have been able to pick relevant points from both sides regardless. Just understand that there is nothing wrong in wanting to develop your finances, or in lacking patience with women who have no obvious interest in you. The best woman to be with is that one which presents you with the least amount of work/obstacles/roadblocks in winning her over, simply because she is already won over in some small measure of her own accord.

Developing yourself should be your ultimate goal in life FOR YOURSELF, not because you need it to be better in the eyes of women. Also, making just any woman or every woman feel good about themselves is not your job - there are already multitudes of men doing that. You only just need to find that ONE woman who has a mutual interest in you, hit it off, and make her the object of all your attention and devotion. What every other one thinks is really not your concern.

Cheers.

Not indulging women is definitely not the same as being rude or impolite...but believe me, the latter is the common interpretation.

Begging for women's attention which is different from begging for a woman's attention and fleeing at the first sign of indifference are two sides of same coin:

Low self-esteem
Lol, Buka trust me, most men know what indifference really implies.

Playing hard-to-get while maintaining a 'friendly' persona with a man interested in you, is not indifference.
Indifference would be complete disregard for the guy.

Hmmmm. I find partial pleasure in my work and reading but I can’t lie, I get lonely sometimes & need the feminine touch. I am not gay. I am just not ready to beg for one. The feeling has to be mutual.

My problem now is that I will feel more confident entering into a relationship with power of my own(money) due to my experience being a Nigerian. I am not ready or willing to enter into a relationship without money because my ego will now allow me face the consequence of that.
What you mean there is sex, no? grin

Regarding your second paragraph, there are two interpretations I can glean from that:
1. You might actually have a self-esteem issue as stated by bukatyne, if you attach your self-confidence to money.
2. It may be a case of just trying to avoid embarrassing yourself in the hands of a woman in the long run, which is a little pessimistic if you ask me.

How about I offer you a solution?

Forget about your financial standing and just try getting into a relationship - remember, it has to start on a basis of mutual interest, not one where you begged for it. Once in it, do what you can emotionally as well as financially. Don't do anything more, don't do anything less.
You must keep it at the back of your mind though that it is a relationship and it can end at any time through no fault of yours. Knowing this will save you from the embarrassment you think you will feel if a woman breaks up with you because you already understood it is one of those things - this make it easier to move on with your self esteem intact.

What the above solution has effectively done is give you control over yourself and your confidence - it means you can have a relationship and even if it ends the next second, then it will be one of those things not worth feeling embarrassed over.

My exact sentiments. I just needed reassurance. About the loneliness, I will just fine as I have been like this for a while. And note, it’s not like I am completely broke, I am just not where I would like to be, hence I don’t even bother initiating any relationship.

Thanks for your contribution.
Companionship is important, very important and if you're feeling lonely, then something is wrong and you must figure that out.

The mistake most men make is we often assume the cure to loneliness lies in having a female companion, this is very false and can lead you into the wrong woman. Try to get rid of your loneliness instead of accepting that you're fine with it, just don't make women the go-to alternative.

I find it hard exercising patience with, indulging or begging a woman. Once I sense a whiff of indifference or disinterest by a woman, I flee to protect my ego. It’s been eons I last asked a woman out and I get lonely at times, but I am used to my single state.

I firmly believe that a man’s value is inextricably tied to his economic worth so I don’t even bother to chase the opposite sex as I tried to when I was younger. This is has discouraged me from initiating a chase as I think it won’t be worth it in the end as it will all end up with the money issue. Am I on the right path or do I try to temper my approach a bit
You've become a made man bro, not in an economic sense but in the awake sense.

There's nothing wrong with you.
If you're going to beg for or indulge in anything in life, it must be something that improves your overall standing and worth to yourself and your closest friends/family.

Regarding your loneliness, try to seek out women who already have a soft spot for you, women who share some common interests with you. You don't need to be wealthy for this.
I have come to understand that the best relationships with the opposite sex are those that are not forced, those that start on a stable mould of genuine friendship - this is not a guarantee that you will live happily ever after, but it still beats having it any other way.
You must never beg or indulge a woman who has no interest in you.
