This debate is going round in circles.

If A fails to provide leadership B should. No need for 2 mad people. It's a recipe for chaos and dysfunction.
One mad person is already enough recipe for chaos and dysfunction.

Looking at the bigger picture; whatever damage you think the second mad person will do, the first has already done it.

Hmmm

Y’all are just deflecting from the OP
The OP itself is simplistic at best, not well thought out. The author sought to appease both sides of the line, but left out a critical aspect, which I attempted getting out of that dvmb character who has been talking to herself all over the thread.

Maybe you can do justice to it, so you can understand why being against provocation is always the most appropriate measure.

Here's the conundrum:
If physical abuse (violence) is a satisfying response for only physical abuse (violence) and we have grouped slapping under physical abuse, is it therefore okay that after a woman slaps her husband, then he is definitely within his boundaries to respond not just with a slap but also with blows/punches, the use of a belt/stick, or in extreme cases, even a knife that will lead to very serious injury?

DeeMain, you are also invited to apply your 'change the outcome' maturity tactic to the above question...if you don't mind.

I was talking about providing leadership with an educated emotion.

Read all my posts prior on this thread.
An educated emotion is trained to de-escalate by not provoking, NOT fanning the embers of tension on the probability that the other person is more educated emotionally to ignore.

This is why provocation is recognized by law as a suitable defense, even in cases as serious murder.

Whoever said verbal abuse is okay? I already said it can kill here!!!

Responding to verbal abuse with physical violence is equally evil.

There are two mad people involved in both.

There is a better way.

That's the summary of all I wrote prior.
Which is a better way in your opinion to remove the madness completely?

To eliminate the verbal abuse (cause), or to eliminate the physical abuse (outcome)?

Exchanging physical violence for verbal abuse? I see two mad people. How many mad people do you see?
This guy sef cheesy

So you already know that the provocateur (using verbal abuse) and the agitated (responding with physical abuse) are both mad people in equal degree, but for some reason, only the latter must take responsibility for their madness.

See the problem, when you respond to provocation with violence, there is no human thinking involved. It's purely letting the animal instinct within us shine. No marks there. A murder charge, life sentence or a lighter sentence. Or a broken home where trust is shattered.
Is there human thinking involved in a woman being verbally abusive to her own husband?

Humans can think of purpose, of consequences, can begin with the end in mind and allow it guide their responses. We can pause and educate our animal side before we respond.
Lol, I like your comments because you're strutting on both sides and making a good case for each.

So going by the bold text, for a 'human' who is verbally abusive, has that person thought of the purpose, of consequences?
Let me rephrase: When a person is being verbally abusive, what exactly is the end goal and how has that end goal guided their behavior?

If I beat up my wife for verbally abusing me, I've given up leadership on how to behave right in my home. I haven't thought about the effect on the home, the fear and tension it can unleash in the home or the examples I want to set for my kids. There is no vision. This home is visionless.

Where there is no vision, the family perish, children suffer, love becomes comatose. That is the recipe for a dysfunctional home, sir.
Let me guess, it's ONLY your job to behave right in your home and set a good example for your kids, not your wife's job.

So what example is your wife setting when she's raising her voice at you, shouting and verbally abusing you in front of these same kids?
Do you honestly believe that if you slapped her right there, your kids did not see & understand what led to it?

If your wife knew better she would behave better. So you can teach her through example. Example is better than precept.

Emotions can be educated. Emotions can become intelligent.
This is exact message I am passing to you.
A woman who knows better will not be verbally abusive in the first place because her emotional reaction to displeasure should be intelligent and well educated enough to understand there is really no positive outcome that can come from it - it's either her husband will completely ignore her and she ends up making a shouting idiót of herself, OR she will be bítch slapped in return so her shouting can turn to crying.

Like I said, no positive outcome can come from being verbally abusive, so why would it be okay. If the idea is to maintain peace, to behave right in the home, and set a good example for your kids, then there wouldn't be verbal/emotional abuse as well as physical abuse.

No self-aware person tries to mitigate problems by dealing with outcomes, problems are mitigated by dealing with causes.

Hi

I’m currently pregnant for my husband and I’ve just been wondering after vaginal birth if it goes back to normal. I’ve heard instances where men will tell their wives it feels the same, but it’s only to make them feel good about themselves.

I think this question is mainly directed to men because I feel like sometimes we women like to deceive ourselves with lies. Does sexual intercourse feel the same with someone who has had a child? Also can you tell the difference between someone who has a child and someone who doesn’t even if they don’t tell you? I just want to have a discussion about this.

Thanks.

2 & 3 take the cake.

I don't know why people would not rather prevent than trying to cure.

Someone who is raped cannot be unraped and the mark is almost forever, someone who was robbed almost never forgets...

Why do we like to put ourselves through the mess and be crying for solutions?

Some of our proverbs are rich and I think should be re-introduced to our kids ' curriculum.

Like my people would say (translating). A knife cut a child's hand and you threw it away. Has the knife not caused destruction by cutting the hand or can the knife uncut the hand?

Or there is little poo on the corner of a plate and they tell you to clean it and keep eating. If you clean and keep eating, can you erase it from your mind?

God help us.
Buka, what an ignorant person does not want to know, they will never know it.

The idea behind preventive measures is never to completely eliminate, but to reduce the chances of something occurring.
Apparently, because some people who wear seatbelts still end up dying in serious collisions, then there's no need to wear seatbelts.

God help us indeed.

The most important issue (your finances) is staring u at the face and you are crying over a lady. See, let me just tell you basic reality, you don't really need a woman to love you, what you need is for her to respect you.

That means when she sees you, she sees someone who can defend her morally, financially, be her guide tru wisdom. Has your ego ever been inflated just by a woman telling you she loves you?

The time it took you to type this cry cry essay would have been enough to reach her father and tell him you now understand why he was so happy & eager to dash his daughter to you and stop all financial obligations to her.

Tell him you have learned your lesson, and that you are not ready to die for her. He should take her back and as her father, he should be the one dying for her.

The other day when I stressed the fact that parents should not allow children access to mobile phones with internet access, it seemed odd because according to some people, a child can become the next IT tech guru because he/she makes use of a cellphone.
The utter foólishness of this thinking is way more funny than all Nigerian comedians combined.

While this investigation by the woman and her team is very revealing and highly commendable, they seem to have completely gone in the opposite direction regarding the best way to curb predatory sexual behavior on the internet.

I mean, how many of these sexual predators are they going to keep arresting, when the real question they ought to have been dealing with is what the fvck is an 11yr old even doing with an instagram account in the first place?
Family › Re: No Gender Has The Exclusive Right To Be Violent - Solomon Buchi by crackhaus: 10:49am On Dec 18, 2019
DeeMain:
I liked your earlier comment but disagree with this one.

Words are guns. Words can kill. Words can maim and destroy and warp. Agree.

But to give free pass to violence in the altar of evening the scores for verbal abuse is to play the animal. We are not animals. We have a higher thinking brain that can educate our primitive animal brain. This is what sets us apart from animals. We can pause and think before we respond.

Between stimuli and response is a gap. Humans can fill that gap with a sense of purpose, with control, with love. We can interpret differently.

It's why even people who commit crimes of passion go to jail.

I say no to responding to verbal abuse with physical abuse. Run, flee, hit the wall or reframe the situation - interpret it differently.

If we interpret such verbal abuses differently we will respond differently. There is always a choice. It's the nature of freewill .
Provocation or Loss of control (English Law) is an acceptable defense in law courts, it will get the perpetrator a lesser sentence - look it up if you didn't know that.
Even crimes of passion are judged very differently on the basis of pre-conceived versus crimes on a whim (due to provocation).

As for your animal reference, perhaps you should explain how a sane person with no animalistic tendencies ought to be verbally (emotionally) abusing another human being in the first place.
Animals in fact come in many different shades and forms - if you provoke a snake long enough, it will surely make you its personal problem, whereas you don't need to provoke a Lion before it does damage...and if the animal kingdom had a law court, who do you think will be guilty of a bigger crime, all things being equal?

Just keeping it within your animal metaphors anyway.
Family › Re: No Gender Has The Exclusive Right To Be Violent - Solomon Buchi by crackhaus:
It seems to be a recurring theme among SJWs to erroneously assume they can actually regulate and legislate other peoples' internal feelings.

If it's not in trying to stop people from expressing how they feel about things which they don't like, it's trying to determine how an angry person should respond to provocation.

Is this not a psychological malformation like this, or what else are we supposed to call it?

I cant believe the level of sentimentality abounding in this thread.

How can you wilfully ignore a clear case of provocation just to prove a point? This is exactly why domestic violence victims are not taken seriously.

I dont know if its some kind of misplaced or warped idea of feminism or what but I cant understand it at all. People should respect their boundaries if they dont want to invite trouble, simple!

Even in nursery schools the teacher will ask why one of them beat the other one. But apparently screaming in somebodys face in the middle of the night is simply "expressing your opinion" smh
Like I mentioned to the chic I had some back & forth with here, screaming in someone's face or even raising one's voice to express displeasure, is asking for it. No one likes it, no one...not even the goddamn superheroes here who pretend to see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Everyone's stress level is different, you can't continuously provoke another person and still determine how they must respond.
Family › Re: I Hit My Wife by crackhaus: 5:21pm On Dec 17, 2019
midnighter:
You keep misunderstanding the term "level the playing field"

Level the playing field is using a verb whilst youre taking it as a level playing field which is a noun. The person you quoted already stated that he wasnt trying to equate violence and nagging, but youre still asking if theyre the same.

Physical violence is not "level" with nagging. But in an attempt to make things fairer, which is what "level the playing field" means, you must take into account the provocation that led to the assault.

Even if he were to go to jail, due to provocation the sentence he would receive would be less than the sentence he would receive if he had just entered the house and started beating her up.

And that "split lip" stuff is just an emotive statement because if you slap somebody on their mouth, their lip will hit their teeth and split. If you slap with the same level of force on their cheek, they wont necessarily bleed will theyhuh

So that she's bleeding or not bleeding isnt even the point here because we dont know what the damage is until we see a photograph and get a medical report.

Nigerians or no Nigerians, what youre saying is just not fair.
You're a darling midnighter, a fùcking shinning wrapped red-ribboned box of darling-ness.
