teeo: Traditional marriage to me just means an approval from the parents of the bride and payment of dowry to the brides family. This alone to me qualifies as being married. Why then must a man not be allowed to sleep with his wife after that has been done.

What gives the church the sole right to make a man and woman husband and wife. I believe that as long as the parents of the bride have handed her over to you, she becomes yours.

Aside the issue of church blessing, church marriage is a mere formality.

Logicboy03: I first lost my belief in God (the christian god) through slavery which I will go into further.

Logicboy03: However, the main reason for the non-existence of god is the lack of evidence for him.

Logicboy03: Furthermore, the religions I know all have paradoxical and self-refuting gods. They claim that god is omnipotent (but can he make a rock that he can not move?) god is omniscient (why would such a god test people's faith?) etc.

Logicboy03: To be honest, Maclatunji is an okay guy when you dont talk about religion with him. His problems are;

a) He thinks his religion is perfect

b) He was probably raised to think like that

c) He hasnt had people in real life that have really talked about the negative side of his religion in real life.
