NLanders, I am NOW back in the Politics section and I have, in the last few days, been updating myself on what is the new hype on NL. I see Beaf and a few people are ready to go the way of the supporters of Yaradua, IBB, etc after being paid a pittance and compromised. Incidentally, I have "known" a few like Beaf back when I and a lot of forthright Nigerians and NLanders literally waged the battle to get Goodluck sworn in as substantive President.

After about a year, it is crystal clear that Goodluck will be worse than Yaradua in every way! Here is my challenge to Beaf: Besides that Goodluck is from the Niger Delta (a people that I have supported and still support against the generally useless and inept Nigerian government), tell me and anyone that cares to listen why he deserves the votes to be re-elected! That is, tribalism and narrow parochial interests aside, say exactly your reasons and acquit yourself as a decent man in this matter.

I am here to respond to you with hard facts, all well-researched and well thought-out. I challenge you to do the same! You have a gang on your bandwagon and I know some of them are mere lemmings on NL still cutting their teeth, they can report here with their A-game! Let us begin. . .

One of the biggest roles of a leader is to communicate. If she cannot communicate in English (the official language of Nigeria since colonial days), then she didn't learn it or she cannot learn it or she refused to learn it. In any case, it is a reflection of not just incompetence but utter stupidity if she can't speak properly and has not brushed-up ever since her husband was Deputy Governor of Bayelsa. Regardless, this is not the kind of person I want to speak for Nigeria anywhere because this is really disgraceful. If Nigerians think her communication is so pathetic, imagine when she speaks to a group of people from all over the world? This is the only thing some people may know about Nigeria and they will form an opinion of us, generally: if this is the wife of their President, then he must be as dull and if your president is this dull, most Nigerians must be worse than him!

Jonathan is and will REMAIN a LAME DUCK CORRUPTION-INFESTED and SERVING President! Like Yar'adua like Goodluck! This guy takes $ 60+ B and spends over 50% of it in a year with nothing to show for it and some people want him to zero the account in another 1 year?

If Nigerians like, let them vote for a fool but may you never get a visa to run away to anywhere when you screw it up more! You will need to hold y our nose and live with it: get your education, health care, job and totally live there not running over here where we make sure that we vote for leaders who are above board and have real plans and solutions to our problems and will not fritter our money away and dodge debates!

I appreciate you guys commenting but do not just abuse her for the sake of it. If she were a private citizen, many of you and I would not care. However, she will "represent" you and I everywhere in the world. This is much the same thing Michelle Obama and wives of other presidents do and when it comes to her turn to give and address, speak or answer questions from reporters (local and foreign), she talks like this?

This is certainly not good enough and we should hold our "leaders" to higher standards in everything because their wives have a lot of influence on their points of view and how we are judged as Nigerians wherever they speak.

Nigerian leadership have been HUGE FAT FOOLS otherwise, they should have done that a LOOOONNNNNGGG time ago! Should any SANE country need advise on using it's talent wherever they may be? Wasn't this the same thing that the ol' USA did with "Operation Paper Clip" as soon as it overcame the Germans in World War II? Truth be told: Jonathan is even FAR MORE CLUELESS and inept as Yar'Adua, one of Nigeria's most widely and internationally acclaimed lame duck and stupid presidents! What useful thing has this Goodluck achieved since he has been in power besides aiding and abetting corruption with his team of PDP gangsters, his thieving wife, lies, deception, woeful understanding of Nigeria's immediate problems, etc? How can any human being with even half a stone-dead brain vote for a Ph. D that any secondary student where I am will take to the cleaners any day?

Buhari is NOT perfect and there are definitely better people who may do better but in the present circumstance, he is light years ahead of this shameful big-nosed Jonathan that cannot address Nigerians on his achievements and what he wants to do and ask that we judge him on his achievements that we can see! How can anyone take a $ 60B+ account and deplete it by almost 50% with nothing to show for it and still wants to be voted for? The suffer head Nigerians are so blinded by the bags of rice and empty promises that they will again sign the rest of their lives and their children to slavery because Jonathan is from their tribe? He is a Christian? Don't you electorates realize that when they steal our commonwealth and plan to impoverish the country by corruption, they do it without any preference to ethnicity or religion? But now they need votes of which they will steal more, they pay you N 50 and hire you as their foot soldiers?

I am really ashamed that any Nigerian cannot see that Jonathan and PDP will do nothing for this country! I am not from Buhari's tribe or his religion BUT I don't even consider those reasons in voting for him! But remember, on the long run, a people always get the government they deserve!

Hey Vaughn. . .it is quite simple and you can find out things with minimal stress. If she has not been asking for money, it is a good sign. You need to do two things:

1. Check with CIC the details of her visa application as you are the one inviting her over. Tell them your story, of course, without (unnecessarily) jeopardizing her application because if you do, visas can still be canceled at the port of entry.

2. If you send her a flight ticket, do not send any cash! Yes, it is expensive for most people even in Canada to buy a ticket to Nigeria so it is even more of a financial burden to buy in Nigeria to Canada. Buy a ticket that can be canceled or changed in someway. This way she cannot just take your money and not show-up in Canada.

A country deserves the kind of leadership it gets! NL will be here when the backward-thinking people defending this so-called president when he ruins Nigeria with his brand of settlement government! Shame on you people who have refused to use your brains to elect credible leaders but will do anything to leave Nigeria to experience the kind of life the leaders in a different country have created for their own people!

NL, especially ladies, your opinions would be well-appreciated as I really need to widen the spectra of possible reasons an ex has been trying to contact me:

First, she called and I ignored the call. She sent me a text in a few short minutes (perhaps immediately) telling me she just wants to say "Hi". Then, "if I got time for coffee someday" and that "she owes me something". This is someone I know pretty well and who knows me. I was her first BF and we were together for quite a while before we broke-up. Can someone tell me why on earth she wants to say hi, grab coffee and owes me something? I know for sure she doesn't owe me anything and it is actually the other way around, is it possible for a woman not to know this? Coffee with someone you know TOO well seems suspicious. . .why would a lady want coffee? She is not a coffee person for sure!

I could add more but this is the important part, can you NL analyze and tell the range of things she could be up to? Perhaps, I would be able to hone down on what she wants!

Guy. . .if it looks like a duck, walks and sounds like a duck. . .you know it is a goddamn effing DUCK! Don't ignore your intuitions that have been buttressed by the messages you saw! My advise: step-up your game and do those things that attracted her the first time. You need to be proactive and "balance your account" (this has NOTHING to do with MONEY) because if any of the above questions are true, it is not a question of if there will be a break-up, is a question of when. So, you need to be on your guard: bleep-her-a-ton per day, do the most craziest and outrageous fantasies and get on with the game! Transfer control to your head immediately and take your heart out of this thing because this will save you a lot of stress soon.
