Wow...@depressionkills, onila and y'all.....i am raising a glass to u tonight... When i think of heroes, I think of those who fight the greatest battle of all- :the battle of the mind (depression, addiction et al) and refuse to give up! you are HEROES. You are the true champions! I want u to know that u are stronger than u think u are That u are more loved than u think u are. I am not just saying this...its straight from the heart. You are Heroes and indeed you are far MORE than u think you are. When u fall into those pits of despair and u think u cant go on and you just have to end it all, here is a quote from Lance Amstong : "pain is temporary, it may last a second, an hour, a day, or a year. But it is only for a while. But if you quit, it lasts forever." Champions dont quit *nairalanders, raise your glass to the HEROES* |
4chi: ...and where has your so called "sexu.al satisfaction" taken you? Unwanted pregnancies, baby factories and general diseases all over the place. The white man that brainwashed you into believing female circumcision is evil sees nothing wrong in v.aginal tatoos, v.aginal rings and virginal tightening surgeries...female circumcision just like male circumcision should be a simple matter of choice and not unnecessarily critisised and mislabelled as genita.l mutilation.u talk about choice, but whose choice would that be? Is the little girl old enough to make that choice? Why do u guys just like to always see the so called 'oyibos' as villians. How can u close ur eyes to all d good things they stand for and single out the ones that are morally questionable? I ask u, is female genital mutilation not bad? Its not right! We need to stop making excuses for bad practices and condemn them. Dont just scoff an idea cos it was presented by a race u choose not to see anything good in. Mind u, u owe a lot of things which makes ur life comfortable to these oyibos. Show me a culture which doesnt have its own bad sides. Africans havent really been saints either. Female genital mutilation (yes, that is what it is) should not be encouraged. I just wish children have the opportunity of choosing their parents before coming to this 'confusing' world. Lord have mercy! |
Yet the govt continues to spend like there is no tomorrow... |
My brother pls who is the option? pls tell us. Even APC cannot tell us, they are busy nosing around the PDP camp searching for that option. Lol!! APC should name that person amongst their party that will challenge GEJ..................
i wil not lie to u, bro. I dont even know who the option is at the moment. Al i see at the moment are thieves, thieves and more inept thieves...2015 is stil over a year away.....I hope our option comes up before then. I think its time nigerians started to consider the other parties and stop seein it as just PDP vs APC. Whatever happens, i am not blinded by sentiments and dont care about the party or the tribe. Its too early to say who wil earn my vote (or if anyone wil even earn it. But i seriously hope someone worth it comes up). I am certain of one thing though. I deserve more than GEJ as my president and he cant get my vote. |
Of course he can run in 2015.......but he aint gonna win. All u GEJ supporters on NL, i wonder if u are paid for this pseudo-campain. You keep pushing GEJ into our faces lik he is our best option, like he is our only option. Anyway, lets assume that is not the case, lets assume you just love GEJ. Afterall, u have a right to your opinion I deserve more than GEJ as my president. Attack me if you want, but it wont change the fact that oga JONA aint getting my vote, come 2014....and remember that I have a right to my opinion! |
I totally agree with u. Not only the constitution, we need to re-introduce history as a core subject. The kids of nowadays know nothing of Nigeria's history but they can list the names of al J-Lo's ex boyfriends. Subjects like these( history and constitution ) have the tendency to be considered boring but the residual knowledge would help our citizens in the long run |
When the last eclipse happened years back, they said the next one wud happen in year 2013 or so. Did they miscalculate or what? |
My cell phone is always locked...not for any serious reason though. There is absolutely no indecency on my phone. The only things on my I do not like any random person to go through are my text/chats. I dont pick people's phones and begin to go thru their stuff and i wil never undersatnd why people do that. I have learned that the average person who handles ur fone for 15 minutes wud check ur pics, mayb ur music...ur apps and the next thing is ur texts/chats. I dont want people seeing personal messages (i like to keep my messages)...i hate the idea of a random person seeing the bank alerts on my phone and trying to judge hw much i am worth financially. If i had the assurance that no one would read those stuffz, i would not password my phone. |
Really, i understand ur confusion. The situation u find urself in is one of those i hate most. Unfortunately, life makes us make some tough choices. First i want to ask: are u absolutely sure there is no way u can manage the new job and ur family such that you dont fail on either fronts, and still retain your sanity? U hav to decide for urself which u would regret more wen u reflect on ur life in the future. And u have to consider that this is ur first child and u may want more in future. If u decide to let go of the new job, i think it will help if u tel urself in advance that no matter what, u wil not regret ur decision cos YOU made what u considered to b the best decision given the circumstance finally, if you believe in prayers, pease pray.... |
homesteady: Maybe!oh! then mayb we should start counting the number of pimples on her face...or the hair strands on her eye lashes. ![]() |

Pweedylipsmoi: Nice write up buh even after all dis sef, u wont get the job...naija don tire personi understand the frustration...but sista, positive mindset....yes, positive mindset....and confidence. ![]() |
Nmeri17: but then I love the people here. I love my customersworking with people u care about and enjoy being around is a very rare thing these days. it is priceless and so i understand your sentiments. but then u still have to use ur head well. if u work with people you care about but the job is not rewarding, then i think you should consider an alternative. PLEASE TAKE NOTE, i am not saying you should leave, i am just pointing out that sometimes sentiments can steer us the wrong way. i am sure sure ur customers (if they love you as you love them) would not want you to starve just so that you can see their faces every morning. Besides, what makes you think you wont enjoy your next place of employment more. NB: i did not give the OP a total answer. i only answered a part of his question that seems to affect us all. Sentiments! Its important that we dont let our hearts rule our heads. Summary: if u are gonna stick wit ur job it should not be solely because you enjoy a good relationship with the people there. there are other things to consider |
changes1: Thanks bro. That was quite informative.what i mean is that a foul mood is usually triggered by something....it could be anything. you could wake up one morning and the first news on tv is about young Syrian or Somali children blown to smithereens by bombs. That news can affect you more than you realize and can alter your mood for the rest of the day. And you keep wondering why you are in such a mood. So it could be anything, but i believe there must be something. It could be some non-achieved goal, feelings of inadequacy, rejection, betrayal....anything. It can happen at sub-conscious level such that we are not even aware of the exact thing that is affecting our moods. On the flip side, sometimes you are just so happy and you cant really say why. i believe there is always a reason. maybe you had a happy dream that you cant even remember...but the subconscious remembers..... NB: i am not a psychologist. Everything i said is strictly my opinion, not professional stuff. ![]() |
Wel, I believe there is always a trigger, even if one is not aware of it. It wil help if u are more self-aware. having said that, u cant be in high mood at all times, i dont think that wil be too good for our minds (too much of everything.....the same reason why too much of foul mood aint good too). Anyway, wen i am in a foul mood, i just try to deal with d underlying issue. And in some cases, u just av to develop some sort of mental mechanism for dealing with it (develop some sort of thick skin). for example, some could just say something upsetting to you. you just have to deal with it or it bothers u, robs u of ur good mood. In some sad mood situations, sometimes i just cal my friend (my very good pal), and we do a full-blown pity party. Its kinda ironic but it works. being able to laff about it, i suppose you just overcome it. Hope it helps |
What?!! What sort of joke is this? |
Op, what about those with the PhD(Pull him/her down) syndrome. They seem to believe they can only climb by pulling others down on their way. |
if that should happen, then i wud not b the onl;y victim. As a sharp guy, there can be money to be made. So, i can start a ![]() |

i find it hard to believe that there are people (men or women) who 'just don't not know how to cook'. I think is the question of whether or not they are willing to learn. Cooking regular home meals is not rocket science joor.... |
lygn19: I wud hv loved to shoot u ryt nown but if I do, u won't be alive to see GEJ win in 2015...loli would luv to see you try ![]() |
The way these pro-GEJ peepz are going about this is is beginning to get on my nerves. I am now of the opinion that some people have been paid to flood social media with false ideologies that GEJ is the best we have ever had, and the best we can ever have. Its silly how they now conjure false statistics to drive home their non-existent point (They said Naija's middle class has expanded by about 20% or so - really cant remember the exact figure @ the moment - What a blatant lie). You guys can go on and argue that GEJ is the best Nigerian president ever. I dont care! But I know what other citizens of other countries enjoy and therefore, I know what I deserve as a citizen of this country. What GEJ has to offer is not even close. Nigerians are 'used to' hardship. So, anyone who comes with something just a bit little better is regarded as a messiah. Its like a case where your parents hand money over to a guardian to give you N10 everyday and your guardian only gives you N1 instead and keeps the rest for himself. One day, your parents switched the guardian and the new guardian gives you N1.50K. The new guardian would seem like a saint, but in reality he deserves no praise cos what you deserve is N10 and nothing less. You guys can go ahead and convince everyone that GEJ is the best we can have. I know i am just one person and can only cast one vote, but one thing i know is that come 2015, GEJ is not having my vote. Now, you can go ahead and shoot me! |
Elbisco: lmao...u'll take birth control pills...as if U're the only woman on earth....forgetting dat a child would giv u a braggin right in a marriage...u also forget that he has a family....mtchew...dat y una no dey c husband marrywhat sort of stupid bragging rights are you talking about. Oh, so you are one of those who think marriage is the pinnacle of a woman's achievements. A marriage where the woman is on her toes, securing 'bragging rights' is not even worth it. Do you even have sisters? |
shaneroberts26: day guy is way underappreciated by people lyk u. I no go surprise if Davido na your role modelMe? Davido? Role Model? You must be high on cheap alcohol. If I hear he is on the next street, i wud not even consider gettin off my chair. I have no probs wit dose who lov him though. |
shaneroberts26: 2baba(faints).upon meeting him, u wud faint? |
Lilimax: Me likey @ highlighted. Parents should be aware of their environment.i like the point highlighted above. A four year old child is not too little to be taught that if a person handles or touches them in some wrong way, they should scream and report to mummy and daddy. And yes, parents should be really aware of their environment. One final and very important thing is that parent should only have children when they are sure they can cater for and monitor them. It is not a must that u pop a baby immediately after marriage. It is not a must that have children every two years till you hit menopause. |
Sun glasses are meant to be worn outside when there is sun but these days When you go for occasions you see people wearing dark sun glasses inside the hall. Some even wear it inside clubs at night. Please is this fashion or its just plain silly?
wel, we hav to accept the fact that fashion evolves. It was intended to protect the eyes but as time went on people came to accept them as fashion items (not necessarily an item for eye protection). its like asking why we wear wristwatches in a room where there is a wall clock. or why guys wear belt even when their pants are at no risk of falling off. Mind you, belts were invented merely to hold the pants from falling off. |
