CultureRe: Nigerian Women Are Unromantic by davidif: 9:31am On Feb 02, 2008
@poster
why must we always behave like westerners, this is what they call colo mentality, anything wey our people do they say it is bush or uncivilized or in this case unromantic, this is the enduring legacy of colonization, i think that western movies and music should be banned from our country so our kids don't become like the poster. My friend you really really suck for posting this about our women, and you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

olrotimi;
Quitting is not and has never been a noble thing. Its an act of cowardice and weakness. This guys put there trust in this man and he quit on them when the going got tough what a shame, the guy should go hide somewhere for betraying the trust this players had on him.  cry  cry  cry
I am sure you've heard the following cliches;
when the going gets tough, the tough gets going
winners never quit and quitters never win.
TV/MoviesRe: Greatest Movies Of All Time by davidif(op): 8:45am On Feb 02, 2008
Gamine; did you like the sixth sense? I watched the pirated version so the quality wasn't too good so i didn't really know what happened at the end, until my sister told me what happened after she watched it like almost a year later (i think). You can imagine how i just freaked out when i found out, i was just screaming, it totally TOTALLY TOTALLY blew my mind out of the stratosphere.

SportsRe: Under-17 Boys Should Have Been Used For The Nations Cup by davidif: 12:36am On Feb 02, 2008
Your so called U17 boys or "agbayas" and cheats (read: overaged) could not even score against a legit U17 team like Spain and were only able to beat them by luck (penalty shootout) even though the spanish were missing Bojan Krkic who was suspended for the final.
SportsRe: Berti Vogts Must Stay by davidif(op): 12:26am On Feb 02, 2008
You see how fickle fans are, when the situation was dire they were all screaming, now they've calmed down. If we win the nations cup, they would keep there mouths shut. Fans emotions are just as unstable as the sea that is tossed to and fro, that's why leaders should always be detached from fans as far as possible so that they can make objective decisions.

SportsRe: Yemi Tella Is Far Better Than Berti Vogts by davidif: 1:44am On Jan 29, 2008
Yemi Tella ko, Yemi Tella ni. Everyone knows that it was Ben Iroha that was doing the whole thing behind the scenes even the players confirmed it that it was Ben Irohas input that mattered the most, and why did they (the NFA) not make him coach, its simply because of politics, Tella had the connections and Iroha simply did not.
If you guys want a local coach, tell the NFA to sponsor our coaches to go to England and get there UEFA A-License and a UEFA Pro License.
SportsRe: Consequences Of Firing Berti Vogts by davidif: 1:38am On Jan 29, 2008
detruth, i feel your pain but we can't fire him because we just don't have the money to buy out his contract, all we can do is hope that with a lot of friendly's before the World cup qualifiers, we can be prepared for the World Cup. Truth of the matter, is that this guys won't let our players slack during the world cup qualifiers by waiting until the last game to qualify, he woudl get the job done sooner.
SportsRe: The Playing Surfaces In Ghana 08! by davidif: 1:32am On Jan 29, 2008

SportsRe: Consequences Of Firing Berti Vogts by davidif: 2:34pm On Jan 28, 2008

SportsRe: Who would you want to coach the Super Eagles? by davidif: 10:17am On Jan 28, 2008
If they let Berti Vogts go (which they eventually will) they should hire Pasquale Marino of Udinese or the great Vincente del Bosque, if none of them agree, then we can try to hire Ruud Guullit or wait for Frank Rijkaard (he might be too expensive) to get fired by Barca. I even heard that Louis van Gaal's time is almost up as AZ Alkmaar's coach and he has said he would like to take a team to the world cup.

Now for those of you who know absolutely nothing about soccer and are clamoring for a local coach, you all should realize that our coaches are absolutely useless. Mordern day soccer is like chess where coaches strategize and strategize and over-strategize sef, on the other hand, our brilliant Nigerian coaches are still playing draft or checkers. In European football (especially, Italy, Spain, and Holland), they are taught that possession is the name of the game and that just like basketball, your opponent cannot score when they don't have the ball; that's what the Dutch's "Total football" was about, you held on to the football and patiently waited for an opening hoping that your opponent would be out of position so you can capitalize on it. abi can anyone remember the champions league final of 1972: Ajax vs. Inter Milan where Ajax held on to the ball for 15 minutes (yes o 15 minutes!!! shocked shocked ). Meanwhile, their Nigerian counterparts are still playing "kick and follow", when the defenders get the ball instead of playing short passes to one another and surveying there opponents positioning, they just boot the ball forward 30 meters in the air like the British players who have absolutely no skill (Steven Gerrard anyone) hoping that by chance one of there teammates would latch on to it (abi una no dey watch premiership). Nonsense. There is no way you can win a serious tournament like the world cup playing like that.
