Tinubu is not a good politician

A good politician don't need to force voters to do his wills

Tinubu only wins election in Lagos using NURTW thugs and that's why they've grown big wings and doing like they own Lagos state

Tinubu used same thug to overturn election result in Osun state but people Edo state rejected him & showed him what they are made of

Although Obaseki is nothing but a senseless governor
Edo people voted for Oshiomhole in 2007 and again in 2012 and Oshiomhole was supported by Tinubu in both cases. Obaseki too enjoyed Tinubu's support in 2016. His victory in 2020 was because a slight majority fell blindly for his deceitful anti-godfatherism campaign for which the scales have now fallen off their eyes hence your likes who voted for Obaseki now label him a useless governor which you were told initially but argued that he wanted to work but Oshiomhole and APC were disturbing him and asking him to share the state's resources.
And may I remind you that vicious godfatherism started in Edo State far before Tinubu started its milder and more result-oriented version in Lagos State. Tinubu had not become known as a godfather as at when Lucky Igbinedion's father and Tony Anenih publicly declared that even though Lucky Igbinedion had failed woefully in his first term, there was still no vacancy in Osadebe House as Gabriel Igbinedion (Lucky's father) had paid for Osadebe House for his son. So the Edo-No-Be-Lagos slogan was actually a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Do you think Buhari's reputation was built on being him head of state?

Buhari was Minister and Governor before he was Head Of State. Buhari was no nonsense young soldier, with record of zero corruption and anything dirty. Ask Obasanjo and Babangida.

Idiagbon was just loyal to Buhari, that is all.

The reason why Buhari loves Borno and Yobe above other states is because of his constant reputation that erect on the eyes of Northeasterners since being a Governor up there. Buhari can't stand losing such reputation, that is why he do anything possible to please the Northeast (Borno and Yobe).

IG,Senate President, Tukur Buratai,Kyari and Abba Kyari and Kyari and Mahmud Yakubu etc.

Don't be surprised if he support someone from there, not just the likes of Zulum...but also the likes of Hamza Almustapha(lol).

Idiagbon was just the only one to stand Buhari's no nonsense manner. And so the coupists waited for his absence... Nothing more.

But now age is reading on the dude. So Tinubu is never as bold as how young Buhari was. Tinubu was Democratic and was good in Economical governance. Now he is not that strong.
Your painting of Buhari as a 100% anti-corruption czar is quite amusing. Buhari's anti-corruption credentials is the type which makes a one-eyed man the king in the land of the blind. A person who truly and absolutely hates corruption wouldn't have, in the name of fighting corruption, arrested and sentenced to 100 imprisonment governors of the opposition parties while allowing governors of the ruling party which perpetrated the said corruption walk free and also give Shagari the overall head of that corruption mere house arrest. That was definitely not a credential of a genuine anti-corruption crusader.

On the idiagbon issue; you still don't get my drift which has nothing to do with him being loyal or otherwise to Buhari but about being the think tank of Buhari's administration's policies. Recall that Buhari got overthrown only when Idiagbon went to Mecca on pilgrimage meaning the enemies of Buhari's administration knew that it would be difficult for them to remove that government with Idiagbon physically around. Recall that this whole debate stemmed from the contention that Tinubu's age doesn't impair his strategic intelligence and won't.
With all the achievements you credit to Buhari about the Northeast one wouldn't expect the region to be the cradle and epicenter of terrorism in Nigeria as it is today.
Like I already said, a lot of folks you see crusading against Tinubu on health grounds today are mostly the same persons who till today term a more sickly Yaradua the best president we ever had and wish he was able to complete his eight years in that his very bad health condition even though his administration was actually clueless and directionless. This alone should show you that deep down in their hearts Nigerians don't really care about health status of candidates but some of them are only playing it up now against a far healthier Tinubu just because they don't like his face or his party. It is the same way they now preach the need for new youthful faces to be voted into power after having themselves voted for a recycled and discredited, baggage ladden old face Obasanjo to pioneer a new democracy while rejecting Falae who was a new face with good antecedents, sterling performance record of public service and a clean bill on abuse of public office and power and misappropriation of public funds. Meanwhile, while verbally speaking in favour of retirement of the old guards, young and new faces like Moghalu who showcase a lot of brilliance and deep understanding of our socioeconomic challenges don't get up to 100,000 votes from them nationwide. On election day they would tell you that voting for such is a waste of votes. Then who is deceiving who?

Yaradua who is known to have suffered health challenges most as Nigerian president is till today still rated by some overnight anti-old age folks as the best we ever had and wish he was able to complete his 8 years that way. Though I don't agree with them but it shows that deep down in their minds they don't really mind having an aged and sickly person as long as they like his face or party.

I am yet to understand how people arrived at the conclusion that Tinubu who, as governor, rattled Hitler Obasanjo as president for eight years will fall under the control of a cabal as president with far greater powers than as governor.

Ambode had no lawmakers to back, him, he stepped on many toes who could have defended him, even 55% of Lagosians don't like his isolated kind of politics hence his defeat

Ambode should join PDP, he will still be disgrace
You just said it. If Obaseki were actually bold, he wouldn't have done secret inauguration of 9 subservient EDHA members in the middle of the night out of a total of 24. If he is truly bold, he should have prosecuted to the end his battle against the Palace over the about-to-be-returned artefacts and see whether he would last any longer on that seat. Obaseki remains the only Southern governor yet to sign the Anti-open Grazing bill due to fear of Buhari and the North centric faction of the APC which assisted him in return for a pledge to play the spoiler role against Tinubu and Southern faction of the party.
Most of these folks talking of boldness as regards Obaseki are ignorant of the fact that the Obaseki family generally have their ways not through boldness but through treachery anchored on pretence to being victimized hence attract sympathy from the gullible. He used that scheme to deceive Oshiomhole into picking and annoint him in 2016. Then in 2020 he used it again successfully on a slight majority of Edo State people who fell for the trick but have long realized they were scammed by that pretence and victim card play.

Implication being that if the debt was not forgiven the company would have declared a loss of over N2.13bn for the year.

RT Briscoe still has outstanding bank debts of N16.5bn so it is still deep in the woods
I am aware of all these FA you have put up above but the more important thing about the improved earnings is the SA that comes along with it. AD won by a landslide. Tinubu rode on their bandwagon. Then he was preaching restructuring and self determination which yorubas were yearning for and part of the core principles of the party

Once he secured power re-election in 2003 he abandoned Yoruba struggle and dumped AD
He abandoned AD because Afenifere had used the party as a platform of compromise with Obasanjo and the PDP which to introduce rigging and brigandage into the SW as evidenced by the 2003 election.
Recall that when Olu Falae was still in court against Obasanjo at least for the pursuit of deepening democracy by way of seeing the suit to a logical conclusion at the Supreme Court, it was Afenifere and other AD chieftains that introduced tribalism into the whole thing by pressuring Falae to withdraw the suit on the argument that Obasanjo is their brother all the same and that was the second boost to the politics of primordial and ethnocentric sentiments which the rest of Nigeria had set in motion by voting for a recycled and highly discredited Obasanjo. Tinubu was right to have dumped AD and Afenifere and that explains why no one, not even his worse critics, can accuse him of clannishess.

Very funny but serious. That is what a people get when their choices are founded on emotions rather than reason. Most of these AAU lecturers now crying of hunger amidst 16 months unpaid salary were all over shouting "End Godfatherism" in the last election even though Obaseki was already giving them only 41m subvention as against the 200m Oshiomhole was giving them. They even went as far as giving Obaseki an award of recognition. I have said it that if our constitution should permit third term for governorship, I will personally campaign for an Obaseki third term in order to teach Edo State people the importance of basing choices on reason and not emotions.

What some of you mistake as cowardice as regards SW people is their value system which abhors ingratitude and affront to benefactors. Similarly, some of them never forgave Abiola for ever working against Awolowo. So how do you term such people cowards? It is at the core of their value system that it is wrong for a beneficiary to later have the guts to raise his shoulders against his benefactor.

But we can't compare the power and pedigree Tinubu wields in Lagos vs Oshiomole who inspite of being NLC leader and governor, didn't really build deep loyalty.
You just took it out of my mouth. Oshiomhole didn't build a deep and broadbased loyalty across the state, else Obaseki wouldn't have had such level of sympathy votes. For example during Oshiomhole's time as Edo State governor, he embarked on very fundamentally impactful infrastructural projects, but in doing so he discriminated against some LGAs and communities on the excuse that they didn't vote for him but his contenders in the PDP which couldn't do any single project in their communities. While he logically and philosophically had a good point by that, he forgot that politics is not an endeavor that runs strictly on logic and deep thought but on constitutional provisions. Such communities he neglected in vengeance for always voting for the PDP which failed them left in them a bitter heart which propelled them too to cut their pound of flesh by voting for Obaseki's reelection even though they knew that neither Obaseki would look into their plight of neglect. On the contrary, Tinubu didn't discriminate in Lagos and justify it with any arguement hence he is accepted and cherished across all parts of Lagos.

What could Edo people do other than voting for Lucky Igbinedion this time more overwhelmingly for him for a second term?
While I agree that there is in the average Edo man that gene of resistance to undue control, I would also say that the gene in question has become very recessive and now heavily influenced by sentiments combined with partial ignorance especially among Edo youths of age 30 and below. Is Obaseki not currently ruling like Adolf Hitler? He has demolished the Central Library for a shopping mall, demolished General Hospital for a motor park, sold Edo Line building in Portharcourt for N4.5bn, hoarded palliatives during COVID-19 period, etc and not even a single demonstration has been staged anywhere in Edo State.

Well it was the same oshiomole that hand picked obaseki against all odds. Obaseki never won his first election but was imposed on the people by oshiomole and APC. Edo people nor dey take rubbish. Obaseki election was a statement that godfatherism won't work in the state. Whether he is performing or not, it's a different topic. I followed the 2016 election, immediately Obaseki was declared winner, there were protest all over the state because people voted ize-iyamu. But the ize iyamu miscalculated by dumping PDP to APC, he would have been the Gov.
You forgot that Ize Iyamu was the founder of the Edo State chapter of the AC which would later metamorphose to ACN and to APC. The mistake Iyamu actually made was to ever leave the ACN for PDP in the build up to 2016 election. Again, the very fact that Obaseki's margin of victory over him was slim in 2020 validates the arguement that his complacency which made him leave too many stones unturned about the 2020 election cost him his victory which was all too obvious for being a grassrooter.
It can't really be said that the choice of Obaseki amounted to Edo people issuing a statement against godfatherism because; firstly Obaseki's votes where not overwhelming as the margin was too slim. Secondly, those who made up the slight margin fell for innocently for the rather puerile campaign that he was being asked to share the state's resources....a claim which is now known and acknowledged to be a fraud as he himself has since reelection not been able to account for the revenues which have been accruing to the state from both IGR and Federal Allocation.

What are you even saying? Kingigbe wasn't known? The result of the primaries saw ABIOLA COMING FIRST WITH 3600 ballots, kingigbe was second with 3200 and run off was held between kingibe and Abiola and Abiola won..The only thing you wanted to say was that ATIKU WAS SUPPORTED BY YAARDUA who was already banned. ATIKU was not known nationally in 1993 but yaardua was known. ATIKU only belonged to that movement and it was still that movement that nominated him as Obasanjo's VP. The context to which I spoke is clear. We are here discussing Tinubu versus the popular northern candidates. If he can't prevent the pDP from nominating a popular northern candidate, he will find it difficult. To make things easy for ABIOLA, he quickly made kingibe that came second in the primaries his vice president and at that point, no new northern candidate was left. If babangida didn't ban yardua, Abiola won't have an easy path despite his philantropy

KINGIBE WAS THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF SDP the platform that Abiola contested on and you are saying he wasn't known. He came very close to Abiola in the primaries and defeated ATIKU despite having no single bloc of supporters but clusters of supporters nationally
From all you have written above it is clear that Kingibe national chairman status was what even helped his miniature popularity unlike MKO who didn't need to hold any position in the party to become known. It is like arguing that Buni is a very popular candidate who will crush any Southerner in APC primary just because he has once been a national chairman or that under the present circumstances, Iyiorcha Ayu is sure to crush any Southerner in PDP just because he is the current national chairman of the party. Anyway, I won't even waste my time on this back and forth. I will only bookmark this page and remind you after both APC and PDP primaries as well as the general election.

Azikiwe secured the backing of the British overlords to threaten Awolowo and Enahoro with treason charges if they didn't discontinue with their secession clause motion movement. In actual fact, all that the British needed to outlaw secession clause was one dissenting region which they found in Azikiwe on behalf of the Eastern Region. Even Azikiwe would many years later in a 1975 press interview confess that the British came to his aid as regards suppressing the pro-secession clause movement.

At least, when next someone asks why Aguiyi Ironsi carried out that coup, I now have a valid answer!
The Igbo marginalization here was done against them by no people other than themselves as Azikiwe, with the solid backing of his kinsmen, voluntarily decided to reject the all-South alliance proposal which would have made him prime minister. He would rather, for reasons best known to him and his kismen, give it away to Northerners who even worked against independence. When someone deliberately burns himself with fire with his two eyes open, you don't term it a fire accident. So Zik's giving away of Igbos'chance to be first executive ruler of Nigeria was not marginalization in any way but political suicide.

I guess you were a a baby in 1993. Tofa was a joker . He did not even know the price of petrol. He didn't know dollar conversion to naira. He was just like a spoilt brat. The only person that could have challenged abiola was kingigbe and he was made his deputy..TOFA was an unknown person suddenly emerging as a candidate. Why didn't you craft your initial claim as follows: "You think Fulanis will leave their own popular brother to vote for a Southerner?"
The truth is that MKO Abiola was a movement back then and no Northerner could have defeated him in that election. All before then his records of philanthropy even in the North couldn't be matched by any Northerner. It was just like how impossible it was for a Northerner to defeat Jonathan in 2011 due to some of his extremely compelling gestures of messiahship and ideal politicking e g. his attitude of congratulating the opposition wherever they won through the ballot or courts, his visits to the victims of disasters right inside their wards in the hospitals, his demonstrated listening ear by way of his immediate sack of Aondoakaa, his 2011 ambition declaration speech which enthralled nearly everyone into believing that an entirely New Nigeria totally devoid of the ugly past represented by Obasanjo and Yaradua was imminent, etc. Though he later backslid in all of that to the utter disappointment of the common man.
You are the indomie generation youth here else you would have also known that Atiku was by far stronger than Kingibe in the SDP but Abiola beat Atiku in the SDP primaries back then. Kingibe wasn't even known all over Nigeria the way Abiola already was.
Northerners aren't really as unreasonable as some of you assume. I lived among them for ten years and understand them a lot. Their culture promotes gratitude, commitment to values, loyalty to benefactors and deep reciprocative love for anyone who respects their culture and accepts the way they are without unduly deriding their ways of life. They only stop upholding all that during religious crisis which once over they revert immediately.

Show me where I mentioned 2007 anywhere in my previous posts.
It was one northerner (Yar'Adua) against another northerner (Buhari) that year...and 1999 featured OBJ vs Olu Falae, two Southerners. The core north had to pick one of them.

Apparently you just quoted me without getting a grasp of the crux of the whole discourse.
We were discussing the voting pattern of the core Muslim-dominated NE and NW states whenever a national election pits a Southerner against a Northerner.
I have already edited my response to include details of rObasanjo's victory over Falae in the core North in 1999 and analysis that burst the theory of religion. Like I said, 2003 was just like 2007 hence can't form any genuine basis for election demographic theory.
If it were by religion, then the Core North wouldn't by now been trying to displace Tinubu a moslem like them for Jonathan a Christian from a different party for that matter.
