It is because we kept voting candidates who never wore shoes to secondary school! |
President is flying on FRESH AIR! |
Pele needs to learn to manage emerging talents. He showed so much bad belle to Maradona and has done same to Messi. He seems to want to assume the position of the best footballer ever to play on the planet, but should be magnanimous that the claim cannot be true. When you think you are good you should always leave room that someone could be better! Zidane, Maradona, Ronaldo, Messi in my opinion have surpassed the great Pele, and for now, Messi is the king of football. PERIOD! |
OBJ may be corrupt and harsh sometimes but I think the man is intelligent and beyond that VERY HARD-WORKING. He sweated his ministers and aides during his tenure... |
OBJ was saying the truth. Somebody needed to get GEJ to wake up to defend the country from terrorists. Now they are waking up a bit too late in the day. There are other leaders in this country who have failed to speak up, just so that they do not get into GEJ's bad books as that may affect their wallet. BH attacking SARS and Jaji is like telling our security forces that they are ready for war. Should the FG have continued to sleep until this happened? |
elampiro: What is Europa cup to Man U that they should risk their best for? Bilbao played the football of their lives 'cos that was all they could get in football. Man U was preoccupied with Premier League quest. The last champion of EPL just got exitted at the group stage where they failed to win a single match. EPL of today has no chance among the greats. They play trash! |
Only those who do not appreciate good football still contest the fact that Messi is the best in the world. He will certainly do excellently well in any team but Barcelona fits him the most. It is actually surprising that some people cannot stop asking Messi to try another team. What has happened to loyalty? Messi has been so loyal to his team, so unselfish! You could see that his team mates also like him so much. Why should Messi go to EPL where they play trash shoot and run football? Let the doubters stop being jealous. The boy is good!!!! |
Can someone support this statement with some research facts? How do you get to make this kind of conclusion without a research? |
Don't know if it makes any difference. |
Do the math! I buy a jet for 40 million dollars. I use it when I need to. I hire it out to governors, first ladies, senators, NNPC chiefs and Oil chief and friends, for their birthdays, anniversaries etc @ 250 thousand dollars per use. 36 governors + 36 first ladies + 72 friends (conservative estimate) X 2 events each (birthdays + good days) EQUALS 144 x 2 X 250,000 US Dollars = 72 million dollars per annum. Not counting senators, NNPC chiefs, Oil chief and friends. Wow!!! Private Jet is good business. You pay back in one year. Shine your eye!!!!!! |
May the LORD take care of the innocent child. Amen. |
O God, save Nigeria from Nigerians! Let us all realize that the days of heroic leadership is gone. We need structures that can work. We need institutions that are crafted and empowered to fight corruption. We do not need empty promises about fighting corruption from leaders who are beneficiaries of corruption. Nigeria needs to be re-structured to work. True legal, political and fiscal federalism will help us. There has to be a weak centre and much stronger regions. The concept of Abuja is getting more and more irrelevant to the development of Nigeria and we need to wake up quickly to accept that fact. |
Mine will be number 201! I must have my own Airbus 380, big enough to carry my friends and family. When I am not using it I will lease out to governors who want to celebrate their birthdays in the air! |
ijigbamigb: Yes. In fact. You can now contact this office to know more about how the security equipments were procured. What a country? |
Is that from PDP? They have also said there will be 100% power supply in 9 cities. Eko o ni baje ooo! Nigeria o ni baje oooo....... |
In spite of his shortcomings and tendencies, he is still the best president ever...even the PhD holder is not anything close! |
No news. It is possibly the same scenario you will find in ACN and CPC. |
On condition that he does not place 1000 toll gates all over Nigeria. On condition that he is not a stooge of BAT. On condition that he does not place all his old school mates to go on a chopping spree all over the place. By the way, Nigeria does not need a heroic leader but a system that works. The current monthly handout system where the FG depends on handouts from multinational oil companies to survive, where a minister is like a king/queen (Diezani, for example), where you have a bloated and corrupt national assembly, where governors are emperors who do what they like with monthly allocations etc is not what we need. Re-structure the country into 6 regions, have a weak centre and let Fashola or Mimiko or Oshiomole go for VP of South West region. That can work. If we like we can vote a monkey as president of a weak centre, it wont matter. |
Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity! |
dammytex: hmmmm Na wa ohThank you and God bless you for the honest post. I do continue to have a question: Where in the Word of God have we seen people being asked to give a particular amount? Remember the warning in Revelation where we are asked not to add to the word of prophecy. We cannot help God. I do not have an answer to this controversy but maybe you can help. I see that the Word enjoins us to give bountifully, but is there a reference to particular amounts? |
Joblessness of the first order. |
We do not need this house. They are idle and only waste the time of serious men. |
As a secondary school student I trekked close to 1 kilometre every morning to get to school and same distance back. I did not need Okada. I wonder why Okada has suddenly made people to become lazy and unfit. If you are covering a short distance why not walk? If it is a long distance why not take a bus? We need alternatives to this killer mode of transport. South-West should indeed get rid of it. Let us bring sanity back to society. |
Omar is right. What will sack do to the economy? You cut down staff and allow a fewer heads to loot more! Sanusi's suggestion is like attempting to use Panadol to cure Cancer. |
kingingkinging: Why are PDP people always think like this. As much as I am not a party person, as a Lagosian, I really like Fashola and all his policies. Why I laugh at time at the way we reason is most times we want to eat our cake and have it. These are the questions for reasonable people to answer:I think you are missing something. All these are good and Lagos wants development but you dont have to be draconian! |
Lagos says NO to all of them, ACN and Tinubu, particularly. Any good candidate from any other party with do. |
danjohn: I think ACN should field Pat Utomi for governor of Lagos. It will help rebrand the party and remove the stigma of it being a Yoruba party.Just like fielding Segun Agbaje in Abia state. |
Let us all pray that GEJ does not take that misadventure of contesting in 2015. If he does, I pray that does not split the country irrepairably. |
It is indeed about the timing. It is possible that in the near future, owning a jet would be like owning a car, after all in the recent past, very few could own a Mercedes Benz. At a time like this, church leaders may indeed be sending out wrong signals by increasing the fleet of jets. They may even be seen as joining the bandwagon (like following the path of the very corrupt politicians and oil thieves of our time). No one has come up with any economic justification, though. If for instance, a church has ten people travelling inter-continentally every week, and they feel that owning their own jet could help to save time and money, then they may have some argument or justification! In all, reason should prevail. If our meat will cause others to stumble, then we should carefully check how we eat meat. I agree fully with Dr Tony Rapu, it should not come down to technicalities of right or wrong. We should examine the message that the spiralling acquisition is sending out. Before you know it, some pastors will in a covert (or even overt!) manner be asking their congregants to buy them jets and they would have one very good example to cite. If a pastor can afford it, and his means of income are obvious to all, may be there wont be questions, and such a pastor could buy, yet should be mindful of the will of God even in doing that. |
I do not agree with Falana one bit. Because you have seen a few pastors acquire jets does not mean that churches have too much money. For his information, there are thousands upon thousands of churches there whose pastors do not even have cars and congregations where their total income is quite low. Aside, it will be double taxation if you are found to be taxing voluntary offerings. Those who gave those offerings voluntarily would have been taxed before. Mr Falana should no better. Lets be real and avoid emotional outbursts. |
Even if it is not faulty, the people there will fault it! The people in government had better do something drastic about the ridiculous corruption in this country. The system is rotten like putrid bad fish. Its even becoming intolerable, but the mafias of FCT seem to be having fun! |
