nickxtra:You're absolutely right. Local rice is sweeter and keeps fresh longer. Mama Pride bought from a reputable source is good too. Its rice from Nassarawa. There's also rice from Ekiti, Ilesha, Abakaliki and Ofada. It's good to buy Naija for good health. |
Much ado about Emirates that are so unprogressive unlike those in the UAE. |
Joybringer:There are peak points and deep valleys in everyone's lifetime. Weather the storms and the dark days with a positive mind because brighter days will surely come. Most people have stories to tell. If you go to places where you hear about the vicissitudes of life as it relates to other people, you'll end up being thankful. There is always a worse scenario in every situation. Nothing in life is permanent. Remain positive and focused on how to build a better future. God will surely bless your efforts with success. You will rejoice in due season. Amen |
Sometimes I feel that murder is being presented as suicide... May his soul rest in peace. |
Our leaders should be barred from travelling so they can look inwards and solve our many problems. |
XklusivGistBlog:Nice to know. Thank God. |
Mahsums:I remember this lady. The NYSC should be in the forefront of the issue. If nobody projects her case, advocacy groups (which have kept Leah and the Chibok girls alive in our minds) will not take it up. If there's valid evidence that she's not been released, provide the necessary information to BBOG and other advocacy groups. Other Muslim ladies kidnapped from Rann were followed up based on information provided. I pray that she's released hale and hearty soon. |
If the Defence Minister has problems tackling the bandits in his own state of Zamfara and PMB has not been able to stop the marauders in Katsina, what then do we expect? It seems they are foreigners on a mission that is unclear. We have a big problem on our hands. |
Why not start by truly stopping corruption and the greed of our leaders so there can be a genuine redistribution of wealth for the poor to thrive?. The provision of basic amenities to the populace from the money being frittered away will also go a long way. The fault is not in our stars but in us. ![]() |
May she be found alive and well by God's grace. Amen |
Before he became the governor, Lagos schools operated the shift system because of heavy population and too few schools. There was morning school and afternoon school in each institution. 8a.m - 2 p.m and 2.30- 8-30p.m or thereabout. He stopped schools from operating the shift system by quickly building temporary structures which have now been rebuilt into modern structures. The government provided free books and no fees were paid. Many junior staff where I once worked are proud owners of "Jakande flats" in Isolo, Iba, Amuwo et al. They were placed on long term mortgages for ease of payment. He constructed the road from VI extension to Epe. There was no road beyond Mobil before. The swampy village nearby was known as Maroko which was just like today's Makoko. The development of the Lekki axis is deeply rooted in his foresight. The road was also of very high standard as can be seen on portions that haven't been refurbished going towards Epe. The Baba Kekere and Ita Faji ferries were popular among workers residing in the Apapa, Orile/Festac/Ojoo axis. A cheap, timely and convenient way to get to CMS Marina those days. The ferries moved on specific schedules so you could plan your time. He lived simply in his Ilupeju home and rode in his personal car, a white Toyota Crown (I think) all through. No noisy motorcade. A great but humble man indeed blessed with a gentle and humble first lady. The saddest thing was the cancellation of the metroline project by PMB at a huge loss to Lagos State. Also his unwarranted trial and humiliation for no reason. Baba is blessed. May his children and future generations be forever blessed. Amen |
This 'first son must be in charge' mentality is the problem here. In other climes, the more responsible children would have carried out his wish with the support of the family. It's simply inhuman and unconscionable to keep a dead man for that long in the mortuary. |
Bridget95:His daughters are human beings and have the right of inheritance. |
princeFAD:Babcock University Teaching Hospital is also very good for this. Could be more expensive though. May God grant her perfect healing. Amen |
Wicked souls! The devil surely lives in their hearts/minds. Their case should be fast tracked for due maximum punishment. May the souls of the victims rest in peace. On another note, I wish other kidnappers can be swiftly tracked and arrested to bring peace to the people. It's getting out of hand. |
hardasan:The point is that she deliberately sold her child which is a crime under the law! |
hardasan:That's not surrogacy, it's the sale of what she considers an extra child so she can meet her wants and needs. Really sad. With surrogacy there's a valid contract. The woman's services are paid for. Usually this arises when a woman for some reasons, can't carry her baby to full term or there are infertility problems. The sperm and eggs can be from the parents. The surrogate mum is implanted with the foetus and the baby is handed over upon delivery. She may not even know the parents. |
cyrilamx:''Perpetual injunction" comes to mind. ![]() |
I just wish that they could arrest the "bandits" and kidnappers tormenting our people. |
OBJ had no issues with his son supporting PMB. What significant impact did her support have anyway.? |
Fake pastors behaving as stated in the Bible. Matthew 7:15 |
True feminism goes with independence. You can't be totally dependent on a man for your financial needs and shout 'I'm a feminist' at the same time. |
I just wonder why they're not making such demands nor killing in other West African countries where they reside and do business. Is it right to bribe anyone to stop any illegal activity for which they should be tried with available evidence? El Rufai once did something similar. It hasn't stopped killings in Kaduna. I don't see how this will solve the problem permanently. It's like ransome payment. There's no end to it. |
ShinqRambq:How are you sure that he's not married? |
Femi is a Muslim. His wife is a Christian though. He has never denied that. |
tactius:I see the problem now. Sad. ![]() |
I'm surprised that a soldier has to cry out for help on health grounds. Those who defend us should be protected in every way. He should have comprehensive health insurance for instance. This is so unfair! I pray that he gets the attention that he truly deserves promptly. May God heal him. Amen |
Please who knows where the Olukumis are based today? I learnt that they still speak some sort of Yoruba dialect. They're also known as Lucumi in the International sphere. I read a story about the ones taken into slavery in South America. One particular woman was said to be a great leader who sadly didn't end well. |
awumen:I've seen heavily cellotaped (bandaged more like) bags at airports and always wondered why. Now I understand. The best way forward. |
