Those from Oron should try to find out. It's not impossible but still doesn't look real. If it happened in Nigeria, people will make noise starting from the medical personnel involved and the family. At least, the LG Chairman's wife will pay a visit with the full complements of the media. ![]() |
My people say " owo Abu la fi se Abu lalejo". Politicians should allow the system to work effectively. Seeking allegiance and appreciation after buying us gifts with our money isn't the best form of governance. Of course, I appreciate the fact that many others pocket all and do little or nothing to alleviate the suffering of the poor. |
The person who has taken over is said to be his cousin. The Gabonese may still be in bondage unfortunately. |
firearcher:You got it right. We've had several coups in Nigeria. The 1984 coup which brought Buhari into power was most unnecessary. The politicians were doing well at that time in many states though the party at the centre was underperforming. That was the Jakande, Ambrose Alli, Bola Ige etc era. They did make a huge impact which we're still seeing today in terms of structures and institutions. The soldiers did their bit and kept the nation relatively united in fairness to them. At least, far better than what we have today. Still, democracy is better if we'll managed. |
The Presidency shouldn't be by inheritance and perpetuating oneself in power. I hope African leaders are learning lessons. The people are tired of fake democracy. Maybe we need to work out something better that aligns with our circumstances and specific needs. |
This is one Minister that I'm happy about. He fits the role perfectly. May God help him accomplish all that he purposes in his mind for our good. |
It's the crude way of telling sit tight leaders who are collaborating with colonial masters that the people are tired. That's why the populace rejoices and supports the military. We've had enough of that in Nigeria and fought hard for democracy. However, the current crop of leaders need to do a rethink and fashion out ways to build an economy that cares for all. That's the only way prevent or reduce bad ideas coming up in people's minds. |
In the IBB era, women were advised to have not more than 4 children each. |
Congratulations to Bishop Ifedola Okupevi, a humble, hardworking and amiable gentleman. May God guide him and bless his ministry. |
Proforce also supplies the UN peace keeping force. So proud of all Nigerian vehicle production companies making a difference in our society. |
No surprises. Arabs don't like blacks. They see blacks as slaves or lower class humans. Africans need to fight domination and take back our land from oppressors. The proper management and meaningful development of our vast resources will reduce the mass migration that is bringing humiliation to blacks. |

May God comfort, uphold and provide for the families as the souls of our gallant soldiers rest in perfect peace. Amen |
With 7m, you can do a lot of things here depending on your interest. Going abroad with all you have isn't a good idea. Watch Sky news. Some Nigerians are in a big mess in UK right now. Canada is an option but it seems getting a good job there now is a bit difficult. |
coputa:Not only the youth. |
Part of the oriki of Ibadan people is "omo a je oro sun" Oro is Bush mango. The seed is known as apon in Yoruba language. The soup derived from it is known as obe apon. |
piper7:Apata is Yoruba while Akpata is Edo |
Lonely12:I understand your perspective but sometimes you build for the future if you expect growth and development. Ado is more like the central town for Ekiti kete and they're not far apart. If there are good roads, people from outside town will visit. |
Hearty congratulations to you and yours. May God bless your child. He will fulfill divine purpose. May God provide your needs and make his face to shine upon you. Amazing grace always. God bless you more for your patience and faithfulness. |
They didn't confirm Prof Abayomi and the former Education commissioner who did so well for being Christians or what? This doesn't look good. |
Wainey:Yes, they were painted enamel cups. |
Reminds me of our visits to the village to see late grandma decades ago. She had a big clay pot like this as her "fridge". The water was always cool and clean. May her soul continue to rest in peace. |
There are laws against noise pollution in Lagos State. If the noise is above a certain level, the officials in charge enlighten the offender to comply with the law. I saw that happen to a Church. They complied as directed and the neighbours were thankful. You could approach them politely to reduce the volume instead of reporting. |
Yet up till now, the new notes are not available in the banks. |
Issokay. We dey siddon look. |
Tealcrestmedia:That happened under Zik and Ironsi. I look forward to the day we'll all learn to downplay ethnic sentiments and be fair to everyone. The good thing about Nigeria is that you can find the right candidate from every region if only we want to be fair. |
Verokeena:Have you considered getting someone that he respects involved in this matter? He's obviously depressed and needs help. |
MyVILLAGEpeople:The typical Nigerian mum will respond like this. The modern day yahoo mothers are in a different class. Hushpuppy's mum didn't support him according to reports. |
jmoore:The admin doing so doesn't make it right. There's decency and compassion in dealing with matters like this. What is of prime importance is that a man was killed unjustly. His family and friends are mourning. He has a name. Simply state his name. This isn't a war situation where you can say 7 Ukranians were killed by Russians for propaganda reasons or due to lack of specific details. |
Reason why the Western world never takes us serious. A nation begging for loans and foreign aid but having super wealthy people who can make a huge difference in lives. |
They should leave Niger alone. |
Someone who actually passed through school both formal and informal wouldn't have written the topic like this. Shameful! |
