Food / Re: Narrate How A Tough Meat Has Embarrassed You! by doofanc: 8:24am On Oct 27, 2012 |
Mine is actually a terrifying experience at d local buka. The owner is notorious 4 her peculiar brand of extra tough meat, but why people (including me) still keep going there in droves is beyond me. Anyway na so i order 4 my rice and stew and predictably, d meat could easily pass for a leather wallet. I no too mind sha, as i had successfuly demolished them in past so i didn't think this one would pose any problem. How wrong i was. Na so i chop rice finish come begin attack d thing. I chew, chew, chew for where. At last i say make just swallow the whole. Gbam na there yawa come gas. E just hook 4 my throat, refusing to move down. I then noticed was having difficulty breathing. WTF?! I WAS CHOKING! It was d most frightening experience i can ever remember having. Its like having an invisible hand squeezing my neck. Na so water come begin commot my eye. (no be say i dey cry o, but i no kno why water come dey) some people then came to my aid tapping and rubbing my back. Choking, Coughing, panting, wheezing. . .then at one final heave, the useless thing fell out of my mouth. See wetin meat wan cause. Needless to say that was d last time i visited that place. 2 Likes |

What then will u say about women with real political power like angela markov, hilary clinton, etc. I think you are overestimating her. Foreign Affairs / Re: Biden Vs Ryan: Vice Presidential Debate In America... by doofanc: 11:27am On Oct 12, 2012 |
Biden's performance today shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone. Generally the vice presidential debates are supposed be more forceful and energetic than the presidential. Interruptions, name-calling, even outright insults are not unusual during such debates, check history. We didn't get to see the true Biden at the last debate with Sarah Palin because he had to take it easy with her. If you notice all the heat was directed at McCain and scarcely at Palin herself, and its easy to see why. Today however was a different ballgame; Ryan is a lot more experienced than Palin - and a male. Biden had nothing to lose. He had to go straight for the jugular, and he did. |

tintingz: Nigerian doctors don't realy accept this "a man should be with his wife in the labour room" even in our culture it dosn't happen. . .na oyinbo tin be this buh i don't see anythin wrong in it being with my wife in the labour room(na me put the belle there na) buh the thing is that seeing her in pains and screaming and NOTE don't look down there aahh! At'all <gross> not advicable I don't really think its a 'Nigerian doctor' thing. You have to understand that most public hospitals usually have many women in the wards at the same time, usually with no demarcations or anything, so you can easily see why it will not be proper for the husband to be in such a place. If its a private hospital, or a private ward in a public hospital, I struggle to see why any doctor will have problem with the husband being in the room. |

Vogue50: This is serious! No body expects the naira to appreciate in value after all these importation. We cant continue to import more than we do export , this is simply not sustainable for any reasonable and thriving country. Until and unless local production can meet the demand, importation will remain the only option. Man must wack anyhow! |

chucky234: A ship load of rice is 12,500MT with many ship loads coming into the country monthly,so where did you get your 1000 tons? It actually should be 1 million (a thousand thousand metric tonnes). Got it from here :http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/agr_gra_ric_con-agriculture-grains-rice-consumption Notice its a lot higher than than the figure given by the minister earlier this year: Abuja – Nigeria’s rice consumption is projected to reach 35 million tonnes by 2050, from five million tonnes currently, rising at the rate of 7 per cent yearly, due to population growth. source : http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/02/nigerias-rice-consumption-to-reach-35m-tonnes-by-2050/ |
Agriculture / Re: Importation Of Rice Unacceptable - Jonathan by doofanc: 9:03pm On Oct 10, 2012 |
interestingly Nigeria at about 1000 tons is fourth in the world in terms of consumption, but for production, we are not even in the first 10.

Agriculture / Re: Importation Of Rice Unacceptable - Jonathan by doofanc: 8:47pm On Oct 10, 2012 |
N365b yearly for rice alone? is it really possible? Billyonaire: At average of N1B per day, Nigeria spends N365B annually on Imported Rice. That is N365B into other people's economy. $7.8 FDI into the Agro-sector translates to about 1.2Trillion Naira. There is so much opportunity in the Agro-Sector at the moment. Every State in Nigeria has this natural resource called 'Landmass', yet they are queuing up at Abuja for monthly Oil Egunje instead of exploring the opportunities in the Agro Sector. |
