As to your statement, there is no moral backing in a woman killing her hubby ( embarassed ), but when it comes to self-defense ( In general), one does not care if there's moral or not, he/she must do anything to protect himself/herself.
Self defence is 'This dude is coming to me with a knife, if I don't shoot him, he'll kill me'
It's has to be during a threat to your life and has to be equal or lesser effect than the original threat

IMO. . . . "Battered Wife Syndrome" is a meanz of justifying a woman for killin her huzband. . .
based on the fact that she haz really suffered long-term violence in marriage.

I don't think iz a kind of attempt by d law to leave loophole for criminals 2 escape!
As such women would be convicted of a lesser offence like Manslaughter rather than Murder.!!!
As to your question, why should women be allowed to kill because of fear?
SINCE you men still consider women as fragile creatures, then women will continue to be looked upon as innocent and defenseless. Even some women that should be put to jail, they'll be allowed to roam free, awaiting their next prey.

This is why we're telling y'al it's time for equality, but nooo!!
Here we go again . . . reh reh reh

In the UK, it's now a civil offence for a company to pay a man more money than his female counterpart when they do the same job.
It's this same UK that has women winning everything in courts, the law's having an open loophole, and lawyers never cease to use it.
I'm questioning the moral backing here . . . and u're telling me bout equality

Just because her defence lawyer came up with some wackjob defence doesnt mean she will be allowed to escape

In his sleep, that's pretty much premeditated, I don't see her getting off the hook anytime soon
Actually, it is now being accepted as a case of self-defence especially in the UK
It works mostly when the lawyers ask for a jury, instead of the sole judge
Romance › The Battered Wife Syndrome? by eldee(op): 10:02pm On Aug 06, 2008
Was reading on the net about one convicted killer, she was arrested for killing her husband
Fine, there's nothing new bout sumn like that, but the funny part is the fact that she claimed it was 'self defence'

This is kinda strange given the fact that she shot her husband in his sleep
He was defenceless, at his weakest, posing no threat to her safety at that exact moment

Her defence lawyer claimed she was suffering from the after-effect of consistent abuse, he pled the battered woman syndrome

My question is Is this 'syndrome' not just another attempt by the law to leave a loophole for criminals to escape?
Since it has been proven that every killer does so for a reason, why should women be allowed to kill because of fear'

Orikinla:
Any of the guys here posing and posturing that real men do not cry do not even know what makes a real man.

I have wept for my mother and I am moved by the tears of a woman who truly wept from her heart and soul and God knows that I am more real than 99% of men who lie about their emotions.

I have been to war and saw thousands of corpses and survived and returned safely.
I have braved the dangers of gunfire during coups in Nigeria to visit a sweetheart when most men were hiding indoors.
I have been in emergencies whilst saving lives.
Has anyone carried a woman in a wheelchair down a staircase in emergency and protected her from noon to midnight in ER?
Yet I can cry too when my woman cries.
Because, I am a REAL MAN who has heart and soul.

Love is what makes us human and tears of love are the most beautiful tears to shed.

When a woman cries from her heart, she can move the spirit of compassion.
Dude seriously, I think you need to restrict your poetry to the Literature Section
Haba!!! You miss road?? Or did you miss what the whole topic was about?

This is the romance section, did anyone come here to ask of your post-war tales?
When someone mentioned Jesus' weeping, didn't you see the reply?
Here you are telling us about how you brought your AK to protect your wife

Did you miss the topic or you just saw this as a chance to display your war heroics?

When the tears are not due to death, or sickness, but due to the fact that you've hurt her feelings in some way, how does it make you feel. How do you deal with it?

So, when you do offend your woman and she starts crying, what do you do? You start crying too?
Why? Because you're a 'real man' . . . hmmmn . . . effects of Nollywood cheesy

They had, the best debut-performances, won countless Grammys, topped charts
But there's one thing these people don't know; WHEN TO QUIT!!!
At least, Rock and R'n'B artists know when to start headlining concerts and stop releasing albums e.g Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Celine Dion etal

Out of respect, critics go soft on them in these final days, but the truth is, people are tired
The old rappers take the bulk of th blame, just look at LL Cool J, he's 40, no dress sense, and still says he's releasing two more
Benzino, merked by Eminem, lost his job, his last album sold 20,000 wiv all the Em publicity, he came in an interview to say we should expect his next album

Seriously, why can't they leave us with the memories of the golden age and not one crap 2007 album that drops to £1 bin in one week?
Why can't they leave us with out old records and vinyl discs?
They need to bow when the applause is loudest . . . sometimes I see a good side to the death of Pac, Biggie and Big L
We never got to see them release 8 Diagrams when we're still feenin Wutang Forever

I think P Diddy needs to quit, so do many other ones that have gone too far below their prime

What rappers/singers do you think need to quit?

@eldee, the midwives weren't nurses. Ability to help a woman give birth doesn't make you a nurse. You had to go to medical school and the first medical school was open to ONLY men thus, making men the first nurses. The midwives didn't learn nursing, they were only using their maternal instincts which the men obviously didn't have.
Are you kidding me??
C'mon, the first nurses were midwives, nursing is a gift from God to every woman and they've been around since Ancient Egypt
Ever heard of wet nurses before? when a suckling woman was paid to take care of Moses as a kid?

So you mean to say there were no nurses before Medical school??

No. I guess you didn't read it.

"More men are entering nursing as they discover that it is a competitive and challenging career. For example, when the University of Pittsburgh increased its admission requirements for its nursing program, the number of male applicants spiked significantly. Many men are also attracted to the profession after learning how important mathematics and science (fields traditionally dominated by males) are in nursing."

It has become even more challenging.
