Hannibal: The world has changed a lot since I was a little boy. Sure, we've moved ahead as a society in certain things, we've evolved, we've gone to the moon, we have all this technology crap, but in the end we've taken more than a few steps back as far as human nature is concerned.
When I was growing up, a man's word was his life, a man's honor his most important virtue, and a man's ability to be real his most pressing social concern. Things, unfortunately, have changed. To put it kindly, men have become whining, pathetic losers incapable of handling a little hardship, incapable of handling criticism -- essentially we are slowly becoming women. And here's some news, boys: the ladies agree with me. Women have noticed the feminization of men too, and despite what you might hear about the sensitive New Age clowns being the ideal Romeos women are looking for, it's total bull crap. Women want a man who will act like a man, who will take charge, who can make decisions, who doesn't cry, and who faces fear.
So, StephenP and Chika98 should cowboy the Bleep UP and stop whining like sissies. I don't know if it's because of where I grew up, I used to get slapped just for crying I was expected to be the one bracing up pain while older girls were allowed to cry |

chika98: I find this quite amusing!!!!! But it's true!!! The difference between a murderer and a mastermind is self controlBoth of 'em are angry, only one is displaying the anger at that moment The difference between a whimp and a real man is sumtimes self control too We both have a valid reason to break down and cry like widows, but is it really necessary? Your rational brain doesn't function well when you cry |

Jealousy, Envy, Indecision. . . . . .Some women get jealous of your football club. . . . That is how bad they can get. @Sisikill There you go wiv your A-grade sacarsm again SAM MILLA: @eldee, there is no need pointing fingers here. this guy did not mention his age here. i was only giving you examples and you are acting upon the examples. besides does being 25 stop you from seeking for advice on nairaland? Your examples are far-fetched If he didn't feel it was wrong, he won't be asking for advice It's not the Theory of Relativity SAM MILLA: and why do you base your argument on assumptions instead of facts? You jst dug your hole 1) There's only one private University in Lagos 2) There is no 25 year old MA degree holder in Nigeria with enough experience to lecture in a University 3) There is no adult MA degree holder that will come here to ask if it's right to date someone over 18 4) If she's still in secondary school, she's in 5th form (all 6th formers are ot of school after WAEC) I could go on forever, your argument is flawed, your assumption that it's a mature relationship doesn't hold water a lot of 20 year olds are still in secondary school in Nigeria, people who didnt start school on time like maids and so on. some girls are repeating classes which could happen at 20. then this teacher is 24 or 25 which is practically possible. now whats wrong in a 24 year old guy dating a 20 year old girl? These are assumptions, and they are only seen in 1 in 20 cases And why will a 25 year old be scared of us crucifying him for dating a 20 year old? Do you just type without a VDU sumtimes?? SAM MILLA: or is student-teacher thing an abomination? YES!!! Taking advantage of your job to have carnal knowledge of your customer is a crime It is a breach of contract, besides it will surely interfere with your work |

But come to think of it, why waste you time crying When you can easily bottle it, punch walls, get drunk, play b-ball, etc C'mon . . . we've got egos, we need to feed 'em tope2000: lol. no but some emotions are romantic, necessary ones tho Some emotional displays are romantic, crying is most def not one of 'em |

But the chickens wont admit, Olodos You're most def not talking bout African men We're not even allowed to cry when we lose our immediate relatives If that doesn't release the tears, what will? SAM MILLA: 25 dating a 25 , does it stop them from being a teacher and a student? Are you like this or are you just acting the clown? If he was twenty-five dating a twenty-five year old will he be here begging for advice?? Now I'm really getting scared of you ooh SAM MILLA: are there no private universities in Nigeria? Yes there are, but they're not refered to as private schools And I'm yet to see a 25 year old university professor in Nigeria, please let's be reasonable here SAM MILLA: i am not applying any wisdom, i am answering the question exactly as he tabled it. thats how you pass exams. That's why this is not an exam, it's a man coming here to ask for advice If you can't apply wisdom, then it's obvious you're incapable of helping him In your own intelligent school of thought This man is a 25 year-old, Masters (Arts) degree holder, with at least 3 years experience; coming to nairaland to ask for advice because he's going out with another 25 year-old. Hannibal: It beats me. . . . . . . Falling in love with one's student. . . . How silly can a man get?? And the worst thing, they'll say it's love That's just extreme stupidity Chat2MeBac: Now yo can ga lang Je ne pas parle le gibberish SAM MILLA: What are you people talking about? Whats wrong in falling in love with your student? By the way, who says he/she is your student? Do you own him/her? Definition or a student is not the same as the definition of a male or a female. student is a status, just like the teacher. Someone can become a teacher at 25 and some one can also be a student at 25. There is no law against that, so you wont be committing any offence. If he/she falls in the age range you want, make things open. It all depends on the student anyway but i see nothing wrong in that. It happens all the time here in Europe. Apply wisdom If he was 25 and dating a 25 year old, he won't be coming to plead on nairaland And if it were a university, he'll have clearly stated it, even that is still unprofessional Private schools in Nigeria refer to privately owned secondary schoolsIt's not rocket science |

Chat2MeBac: The poster said he teaches at a Private school. No one asked the ages of the student there. Should I assume that All private schools in Nigeria are for toddlers and/or children under the age of consent ONLY? Average graduating age of Nigerian private schools is 16-17 If we agree that he's been in love with her for sometime, then the estimate is 15 year old Besides it's grossly unprofessional to have relationships with your clients/customers' children |

The men often drop their oil and bail with a foreign woman. C'est finis, so why don't you be submissive, as the Book of Wisdom has advised us to? DeepZone: And my question was, if the woman is the stubborn type that wants her 50 untampered with and since the 50-50 cannever work, is there anything REALLY wrong if the man condescends just for the sake of his CHILDREN instead of these fatherless boys we have these days roaming the streets and looking for whom to rape? I'm sure you've witnessed some of them here. 50-50 is not working yet and you're chasing 30-70?? Err . . . are you sure u're not on expired coffee Women suffer more when kids go out of hand, they're the ones that the soceity points to They're the ones that get beat-up by the ruthless sons Why can't they just do it the way that has been tested and trusted?? @ Topic,

DeepZone: The world is becoming more globalized everyday, no more nuclear weapons et al and the world is also drifting from testosterone to estrogen(saves more energy, lol). No more wars, battering etc. If your woman is not satisfied with anything less than 50, why not let her have it for the sake of your kids? can't you die for your children? We all know leaving power with women is dangerous, ask Hilary Clinton Adam and Solomon learnt the hard way Why should we be the ones making sacrifices? Didn't you hear of the case of the two wives and the dead baby?? DeepZone: Well it's not happening all the time in the west among Nigerians. That's why so many women send their men packing to Abeokuta instead of the men sending them packing to Ilesha. There's a reason why it made the news, the millions of men that send their wives packing is not odd sistawoman: Thier pride was not sold it was stolen, it was stolen when they were forced to watch their women raped by masta or die trying to stop it. It was stolen when they were sold away and forced to be breaders for the masta. It was stolen when they were beaten forced to take on new names, new religon and new languages.
I beg to differ that it was sold. Jim Crow was horrible to black people but mostly to our men, whimping them out and taking away their spine, causing more women to have to step up and take that 70-30 split. I don't ever want to have to run my house again. It is hard work not that I can't do but nothing that I desire to do. Let my husband do it he was built for it. Let me do my 30 or 20 and watch me be happy with it. C'est fini . . . you should hold a seminar and educate ignorant women like Funmi It's not always greener on the other side |

Make a mental scale of preference, will you risk your childrens' health for financial stability? Will you be ready to keep hoping with the struggling bloke? What do they have that will buy you to their sides?

TOUCHE!!! An average nigerian man knows he has to provide for the family to earn his 70-30 The lazy whimps o'er there have sold their ego and pride for nuffin . . . it's resignation already |

DeepZone: Guys, the idea of 50-50 rule in romance demanded by todays liberated women seems to bring an increase in family break ups and lots of fatherless kids. It seems the equation must not be balanced for peace to reign. Like 70-30, 60-40 etc .
My question to you men is, does it really matter? if the lady in your life is hell bent on 50 and above, why not reduce yours just for the sake of peace so that your kids that you need so much can be afforded the luxury of having a father at home. Why can't you play the bigger person and let her have 60 or even 70 for the sake of peace? what did it take away from you? what really?
Funmi is fuming. You see what happens when you give the woman an inch? There was a time it was 80-20, we kept giving till now it's around 60-40 Now here's sumone saying we should go 70-30!!! What nonsense!!! We need to go back and ask, are we meant to be sharing at all?? DeepZone: Pride and ego are unseen innate factors and can be CONTROLLED especially when needs be. Why not invade Cameroun at the expense of human lives for taking away Bakassi peninsula, didn't that hurt your pride and ego too? Nah . . . that was France Vs Nigeria . . . if it were just man to man, we'll have cleared Cameroun at the OAU |
