As for the one that said the wife prevented him from doing things for his family...abeg, drop that line joor...it's just like you pointing to someone as influencing you and making you turn bad without blaming yourself for turning bad... If late Levi turned his back on his family, it's because he wanted to...after all, he would have had plenty opportunity to help them...and when you say help...I hope you don't mean, putting his family members in unmerited positions or giving them juicy contracts just because he was in NNPC? If he really was a strong MFMite, I doubt all the promptings would have been from his wife... In conclusion...stop looking at others to help you, try and help yourself...if someone wants to help you, he will and if he doesn't, don't hold a grudge...because all in life is transient |
@akaazua: That is exactly what I am trying to say to Mr. Frosbel, name your church or any other that is infalliable...every church has a rule aka doctrine...so no church is without blame...a good christian's focus should be on how to fellowship with his brothers/sisters with words from the bible, not forgetting 2 Peter 1:4-9 |
I don't like to compare them...to me Joe's songs are specificity defined while that of R.Kelly is broad... For example Joe oozes sensuality, romance in his songs, he sings on how he is the man...it's always about a lady and doing wicked things to the lady, only few of his songs are inspirational like better days, ghetto child and so on...someone even told me he has a contemporary gospel track (I haven't heard it though) R.Kelly sings sensual songs too but not like Joe...he has more gospel (even sang with Kim Burrel annd Karen Clark), inspirational tracks and is more rounded than Joe They are two good artistes in worlds of their own...doing almost the same thing but not totally the same and so they are not to be compared...this is in my opinion |
I think the falconets should be compared to the Super Eagles and not other athletes...The Super Eagles acted poorly but the Falconets performed better... The para olympic athletes also performed much better than the other athletes that went for the olympics...shikena! And why is Enefiok complaining? The ones that should are thoroughly ashamed and don't want to be reminded of what they failed to achieve... As for the picture...he should have sat down...since he was placed in front or stand at the back with the others...who was the photographer self? |
When we point one finger at something, what happens to the rest of the fingers? They point back at us...the problem with most christians are that they believe too much in what their church says... Mr. Frosbel...you point to deeper life as looking down on other churches (I am no deeper life member) but yet you are doing the same...all other churches do it too...mention one church that does not look down on other churches...please just one! The Brotherhood society looks down on the pentecostal churches and vice versa, the pentecostal churches look down on orthodox and all other churches whose doctrine they don't understand and vice versa...this is all too depressing...for true love which we keep mouthing will not delight in being vain or puffed up...the very thing you chide deeper life on is the same thing you are doing...it's a cycle...a saddening cycle. God help us all. |
Debrief nailed it. @op you have to forgive yourself and then forgive him...talk it out, cry, throw a fit but don't take too long at shutting him out. Don't even try to numb your feelings...believe it or not but he is also hurting, he made a mistake and had to debate on how to confess because it was probably weighing him down... So do whatever you need to do, be by yourself for a while to sort -perhaps a little vac- out your feelings but don't take too long because when he is over his guilt and sadness at hurting you, he is probably gonna start to resent your 'saintly' attitude...I hope you understand what I am trying to say... So, please allow him to do little things for you...because those little thing will build up your foundation of liking, loving and then trusting him again...cheers. |
al-qaeda:And how is it a lie? |
LMAO....Nigerian politicians sure know how to make me laugh....indeed Zimbabwe..we can help...just tell us what you need.... ![]() |
It's sweet to have another alternative of course but how do you make it thrive? Case in point is Nairaland...I am sure many have tried to have a forum like this.... As I said your idea is laudable but I think another good point for NaijaStories is the fact that Myne Whitman - an author - owns the site...Decisions and information given are based on a 'been there done that kind of thing'. The writing 'industry' is just being birthed but with patience we will have as many as we would possibly want later....NS is not even as old as Nairaland and is the first of its kind...we should focus on security for the works of a writer and how Nigeria can have as many 'good' writers as possible....that means more editors....people willing to read and critique your work without there being any fear that part of your work will get stolen for one of the editor's projects.... |
Ujujoan: Exactly . . . mothers are supposed to direct their childern to the right path in their marriages . . . not encourage division!LMAO.....I think eating in your MIL's place should be as irregular as possible. The same is the case with my landlady....her last son and his wife lives beside her flat upstairs....the DIL is a Lawyer, the son...an entrepreneur - I guess since he is home all the time except for few times when he goes out...I doubt though that the man eats in his mother's place....their little son rarely does and I think it amounts to respecting boundaries....the fact that your mother lives close to you should allow a couple attain an exemplary lifestyle.... |
Mbuko91: who's eva heard ov karen clarke sheard and kim burrel?I have.... |
] coogar: that's none of your business - face the topic and leave personal issues out of it!How is my question personal? Is it any more personal than he talking about other people engaged in acts that is of their own personal business? And what issues should we face? That women are hopeless or that women have seperate sins by which they should be judged of by the men? |
The songs plenty oh...I can't name them all...but my all time favourites Marvin Sapp - You alone are God Karen Clark - Secret place Kim Burrell - Jesus (reprise) Donnie McClurkin - Stand Yolanda - Through the storms, Be blessed, Fragile heart, The battle is not yours Don Lawrence - Bless me John P Kee - Grateful Kirk franklin - Love, Imagine me, Now behold the lamb J. Moss - More Order my steps - the version by brooklyn tabernacle Tonex: Lord make me over Kirk franklin n T.D Jakes - phone call...(Don't know if that is the title) Whitney/R.kelly - I look to you And so many more... |
And pray, tell sir...what were you/have you been doing at this 'place'? |
If you think it's home trouble, what are you doing about it...because for someone that didn't have a job for the number of years you mentioned...your interview invitation should have been kept to you and the news blown once you have gotten the job! Your friends knew that you were going for an interview and made you keep a late night and none was so reasonable to hold off the party till after you had gotten the job? How have you been feeding and paying for your accomodation, if you haven't had a job for 8 years now? If you obviously were living with someone they would have helped wake you at the appropriate time so I guess you are living alone... Are you waiting for only a set kind of job? Because 8 years is awful amount of wasted time... Leave thoughts of suicide alone and go and start something joor... |
jennypinky: Yea Enoquin i m workin towards bringing kids nd teens into this whole scene but the producer i ve met so far are always pessimistic abt this. I ve numerous plays written 4 them to act on too. If only i ve got financial back up, i would make it a personal mission to actualize this planThat's more like it...but are you sure the producers are pessimistic of your scripts because it's got children in it? What genres do you write on? |
honeypie311: Hmmmm, nice one, the nigeria children/teens should be given a chance to showcase their talents like the hollywood aforementioned names above but only if nollywood producers will be reasonable bout this.@ Enoquin, pls re-read d article, its a suggestion with a solutions written at d end of d article.I had to go up and read again...and still I see no solution, I just saw something that tended towards a plea...let me clarify...it's like the President saying 'Enough is enough' to Boko Haramist but with no clear solution on how to curb the menace...don't get me wrong, it's good she wrote that...she is not the first to and won't be the last...what is she doing about it means just that... |
And what are you suggesting? What steps have you taken? I read the piece and expected a solution somewhere towards the end... |
Yes...beans has gone up. Sent my sister to the market last month and she bought less than the usual quantity...Indomie (big pack) is the same...sent my sister to the supermarket last week...she stepped outside to tell me of the increment and after I gave her the go ahead to purchase it, she still could not buy because immediately she stepped back inside they had changed the price to more than they initially told her...This is in Uyo |
Na you kill am abi? |
Really? Gosh this is so funny...happy counting Apple....hehehehehehe...oh! What craftiness men come up with |
ROTFLMAO...talk of foolishness to the core...30k plus court appearances when the suit should just have been returned... |
This is so saddening and no matter what anyone says...trust is needed in business. After reading from the first page I came to the conclusion that this ICME character is fictitious...In my opinion, it's simple and easy to stay honest... First do not say what you cannot do. I keep telling people -whenever they scoff at what I say- I have come to an age when no one can beat me for telling the truth and when I can weigh the desired consequences of whatever actions I will eventually take... This does not mean that I do not err but I take my name and reputation seriously...I tell people that my word is my bond/pride...I have done businesses online...I have been duped once but I picked myself up and moved on...words like 'wow, you did that without our meeting? I didn't know that honest Nigerians still remained' keep me going... I know that I am not the only one...I know there are honest men and women out here and scattered all around. Men and women to whom dishonesty is alien and is looked on with contempt. Please Mr. Boson and every other person, stop begging ICME to refund the money...if he didn't know that as a grown man he should have started paying up small sums or half by now then he is not fit to stay amongst humans...his type deserve the disdain and utter contempt life later throws out at them... Please Mr. ICME, RUN...RUN because Mr. Boson is not happy with you and because he trusted you to do the right thing...please don't try to clear your name oh...RUN, if you think that will solve your problems...RUN...tell your feet to propel you to where you think no one or even God can see you...RUN and continue scamming...RUN...Is this not Nigeria, where anything goes?...so RUN...RUN..you are doing the right thing...continue with e-mailing Mr. Boson oh...don't call him...how can you even call self...I am sure where you are there are no phones only PCs...RUBBISH...You just spoke as a child would...you want to run...RUN na and when you are tired...God will extract the money from you even if your offspring has to pay for it...so RUN oh and keep RUNNING |
preeky: Those branding prezzo a gold-digger and even saying he came to spend the little amount he got from the show are all mistaken.I have been in kenya before and prezzo is a house hold name with alot of property under his name.he can actually buy half of this country if he want. There is no celebrity in east and central africa richer than prezzo.A chain of schools, hospitals and resorts under his makini name being the only son of a millionaire who passed on years back/he only started rapping to flaunt his big cash in videos nothing else. Those are facts about him, goldie is way too poor for him if you must knowReally? That must mean that he owns the whole of Kenya...wow! That also means that you all including Pres. Kibaki pay rent to him...double wow! And as of today, I have just learnt that the Kenyan Shilling has more value than the naira...triple wow! |
I agree with the OP that it was tepid even though our reasons are not quite the same...that's my opinion. The end though at the cafe was nice but the story was just there...and no, I wouldn't like to watch it again... |
And the flame on the candle just got snuffed out...for greed |
Linda Ikeji is not the only one with that name...I had a Linda Ikeji room mate back in Secondary School...in fact when I heard of Linda Ikeji the blogger...I thought she was the room mate of mine till I saw that this Linda was older. The other Linda too was aspiring to be a model... |
If this is your first child, it would be somewhat callous to tell her to leave...you know how first time mothers fret if even a strand of the baby's hair falls off, so I guess the experience an elderly person such as her mom is really good for her now...I am guessing her mom help bath the baby, cook for her and even bath her at first...so bear with your mother-in-law's presence till your wife feels she is able on her own to handle the baby... If on the other hand, this is not your first child, perhaps you need to start helping out with the chores...when it seems like there is nothing for your mother-in-law to do; she might actually take her leave |
I still don't understand what Jim Iyke's anger is about...Perhaps he posted his pic on twitter because he wanted only his 'adoring' fans to comment and praise him for being so 'humble'...I hope he doesn't want to go global; he should ask what around and find out what celebs face overseas... I don't know why everyone disses Linda Ikeji; I think she is just doing her thing and getting recognised for it, same with upcoming Laila Ikeji... Laila please don't apologise to Jim, his pic was already in public domain; one of the okoye twins was shown eating groundnuts, Rochas was shown buying roasted corn...not all the comments on these pics were socially polite and if I had a coin for how many bad words ini edo got, I'd be coin- wealthy... So Jim Iyke if you are or if any of your close friend is reading this...my advise is that you take a chill pill... BTW on an aside...Last flight to Abuja was 'dry' it had a few flashes of brilliance but was basically dry. And Jim Iyke I think the time used in being controversial can be used in making yourself a better actor |
