9free: The SMN Billionaires club members don dey show themselves. Abeg, how I fit join una club?Personally i dont enjoy SMN..too monotonous.. to many big boiz with eyes for money only talking abt stocks! moreover in Nairaland i have the freedom to talk as i like in Politics and also the car slaes zone in Auto gives me extra dough whenver am able to fling cars.. not to talk abt the small small deals i do in the business section! |
9free: Bros, If you dey think say I be Oga Nosa2 then you don enter one chance moto be dat.BROS I DEY HAIL O! I BOW FOR THIS UR PORTFOLIO!! |
suru45: THIS IS APRIL 2013 . WHERE ARE THE 9 INDUSTRILISED CITIES THAT ARE ENJOYING UNINTERRUPTED ELECTRICITY? IS IT NOT BETTER FOR THE FG TO SUBSIDIZE AND MAKE SOLAR PANEL, BATTERIES , INVERTERS DUTY FREE SO THAT NIGERIANS CAN CHEAPLY GENERATE THEIR OWN ELECTRICITY WHILE WE ARE WAITING FOR THE PHCN MIRACLE TO TAKE PLACE? AT OLORUNSOGO , MUSLIM , OLOMI AND ALL THE OTHER AREAS NEAR THEM IN ONA ARA AND OLUYOLE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS IN IBADAN OYO STATE THERE HAS BEEN NO LIGHT SINCE 2011na wa for you o! so you were believeing the thiefing govt when they said this super story then? |
Seun: One of the benefits of the uniform price auction is price discovery. If I know that I will pay the same rate as everyone else, I will be motivated to bid the lowest rate that I can accept in order not to miss out completely. So the final price will truly reflect the rates that people are actually willing to accept for the given supply of tbills. When the rates go down, it means there is more demand, and when the rates go up it means there is less demand. The interest rates can be used to make investment and policy decisions because the rates mean something.I think the current sysytem is good for the borrower (CBN/FGN) and who am I to complain when i cannot get this rate from any commercial bank tax free! |
Seun: @papillo: In developed countries, everyone will get the same rate, but in Nigeria, you will get the rate you bid for, which is wrong.bros leave those developed people joor! why should every one get the same rate? I stick out my neck risk and you no wan risk; and you want make we all enjoy the same rate? Abegi!! anyway thats the beauty of Tbills.. it comes with some element of gambling and thats why we love it! |
As for me the only Real earnings i can see on the NSE are the ones declared by Foreign owned coys listed on the NSE! I keep these shares for the long term! As for the Nigerian owned businesses.. I trade on them like most others on the NSE do..I dont try to keep the shares! its just in and out as fast as I can! The coporate governance is still very poor and until people start going to jail for Creative accounting and Insider Abuse as is seen in most Nigerian businesses.. I dont want to believe all their earnings and buy their shares for keep! |
goldng: It appears this is a period of the bears. This means its time to buy!!! |
Hmmm.! This thing don begin to dey goi down again o! Abi awon Foreign Investors don come back? |
debostar: I hope we are not having a market bubble similar to that of 2008.All the stocks are crashing at a rate faster than they rise.he When the shares were appreciating ,the 10% rise did not apply, but when they are depreciating by as much as 10% per day.I suspect manipulation in the Nigerian stock market. Where are the so called market makers who are supposed to be like circuit breakerssee oppurtunities are being created for money to be made and you are complaining! ok o! you can tell that to poeple that made 100% on Diamongd bank, UBA and sterling bank late last year! abeg let the fall continue joor! lets the panic sellers sell down! |
sellydion: Why throwing good money on a BAD MARKET ? Are there no other sure bankers?over the past years i have seen sure banker in Nahco.. and i understand their line of business and also understand that they have a good foreign holdings in management hence better corporate governance! i remenber when Flour mills fell to N15 in 2009 due to foreign exchange loss and many punters wrote off the stock.. but i stoood with them and over time I have been well rewarded. I dont write off stocks of coys with good foreign ownership! |
stockbull: airservice is paying the same amount of div with nahco,0.25SO BTW NAHCO and AIRSERVICE which has better long term prospects? Am ready to place my bet on Nahco hence I will stick with them! what is even the business of ASL plc? to serve buns and fruit juce in arilines? |
sellydion: The result is fairly good, however shareholders are showing displeasure with this no bonus and no dividend thing. Notting to take a loss about.Chai!! a lot of short termers in this market! but then if person don make money they make them sell go chop! dats what makes the market go round! i will patiently wait for this Diamond bank at N3..but i doubt if it will get there soonest! |
stockbull: for those who accumulated so much in nahco some weeks ago get their fingers burning now and may get burnt to half.i dont make this kind of post but it's not a thing of joy loosing capital with all these support we're given here. We love you all.Bros.. that NAHCO did not do well is not news to us anymore but like i tell people, the Stock market is along term business....for me NAHCO may not be the stock to beat in the immediate term but by this time 9 months from now we will review our positions....I have seen their new investments in warehousing and Power and the fact remains that Naija is aHub for Airline business. i have been buying NAHCO since it result came out..i have succedded in reducing my average cost to N6.00 I will keep mopping at <9% daily and the pick up my dividend at maybe an average cost of N3.5 depending on how low it goes.. am targeting a dividend yield of 7% |
debeey87: Hello Guys,There was an arrangement by Flour Mills to take over bagco plc. Shareholders were all advised to fill a form indicating if they wanted to convert their shares to Flour Mills or to be given cash for the Bagco shares they had. In the arrangement if you wanted cash, you will be paid N2.75 for any bagco shares you had while the Bagco shares will be converted to Flour mills at 25 shares to one Flour Mills. Since you did not indicate that you wanted Flour Mills shares, the obviously you will be paid the cash...enjoy!! |
valacious: i will only buy nahco at low price of N4.50, not worth more than that. Then will sell at N6.0k. good deal. first bank we are waiting for your result o.when i was buying sterling this way abyt 9 months ago my ogas at the top thot i was crazy.. but over time owhen the sock started going up ..i just sat and watch! I will ratehr buy a good stock that has just a small blip this way than wait until when it starts moving up to start chasing.. Moreover the 10% gain or loss in the market is quite good! I put in my bid at <9% daily and hopefully some mofos will sell to me at that price daily. |
ihedioramma: LIKE WHAT PRICE DO YOU OR THE STOCK WILL GO DOWN LIKE?I will keep bidding 5,000 units everyday at <9% of closing value for the previous day!! |
i think NSE has relaxed this rule a bit! |
Bros You need to dig in more on this Presco o!!cos with an eps of 8.65....a pe of less than 3.. i wan unleash my whole retirtement savings on this one o!! |
valacious: yea i see zenith taking the lead, i see gtb falling, and i see firstbank following closely behind zenith. lets watch out for stanbic ibtc too. zenith and sterling have best result from bank thus far!Yea. so far Zenith and Sterling Banks results have been excellent! Eagerly waiting for FBN and Skye! |
Josh121: NAME OF COMPANY: NIGERIAN AVIATION HANDLING CO PLC (Nahco aviance)Absolutely poor result! am already heavy on this.. I will not sell! I will wait for it to drop more and increase my holdings gradually....hopefully they will turn a corner sonest! |
stockbull: although, most young investors do not invest in bond. The bond market require huge capital but there is need to discuss bond investment as an alternative to stock, how to go about it, rewards and othersActually Bonds do not require huge amount of money....You can buy with as little as N10,000= I do buy bonds at times but i dont seem to like it cos it was not very liquid as one needs to hold till maturity....but with the secondary market trading ..am sure it makes sence to buy some now! |
jossy26: Does anyone have an idea of CCNN, looks good to me based on my small analysis but have got no idea of the companys financial history and management. Will be glad if anyone in the house can help with little infoPls what is good about CCNN? please do share with us! Their year end result was poor from what i can see! |
valacious: Am not impressed with the dividend paid by gtbank, mere N1.30k, a lot was expected from them, compare it to zenith bank. Can't wait for first bank o.Why are you not impressed? have you forgotten that they paid N.25k Interim dividend....this makes it N1.55k for the year! I prefer banks that pay Interim Div! these dividends help my cash flow especially when i need to go for summer!! |
Seun: @feelamong: It seems unlikely that you won't get charged at some point when you're moving your funds around in this complicated manner. I bet you are paying certain fees to Fidelities Securities each time you trade, since they are not a charity. To be sincere with you, I dont get to pay any charge other than the .125%! I dont pay any fees on my stock trading account other that what other customers pay..1.81% for purchase and 2.18% for sales! If you understand how these banks work.. you will always find a way round their funny charges..BTW i was once a banker! |
Seun: Please tell us more about this! Which bank and what's the name of their investment arm?I have said it here before that am a shrewd investor! I put most of my investment funds in Fidelity Securities.. i get to buy TB through them and when i collect my upfront I pay the cheque into my savings account in the Fidelity Bank and then wire to my savings in other banks! I have found it most convenient with the advent of internent banking. Moreover they are my stock brokers so i can easily move my funds from Stocks to Tbills witout any charges or COT! |
mercylicious: Where will u see to buy? If u have d share will sell ur now? It will be on strong bid.i have thrown in my bid... i expect my broker to buy! He has done it in the past... this cant be any different! afterall somebody must sell otherwise the price will not move! |
mercylicious: Jeeez. 1 for 1 bonus is not beans. Why did I not buy ooo. Now d price go reach 110No time to waste!!! time to mop up more at any cost!! |
I Dont get to pay any COT! I use an Investment banking outfit of the bank and the money is basically in my investment account where i either use to buy stocks or Tbills... |
