House, I am very sorry I am posting my transcript late. I know how important it is to some people, as I also benefitted immensely from reading people's transcript. I joined this thread about 3 years ago and I have learned so much. I was for 6:30 appointment. We were about getting filed in when I could not find my pictures again. I left the line and those photographers were demanding 2k from me sensing my desperation. I ended up paying 1k, but I tried not to be apprehensive I needed my composure for the interview.
Once inside, I started observing things; visa issuing rate and the composure of interviewees.

VO: (holding my i20) so you are going to WIU?
ME: Absolutely(with a smile)
VO: How did you know about the school?
ME: I came across the school in late 2012 after I subscribed to the e-journals on the website of American Political Science Review. Subsequently, I carried out more research using: gradschool.com, collegeboard.org and usnews.com.
VO: You discovered the school in 2012, why are you just applying in 2014?
ME: I have been very busy with work, and I also had to prepare for standardized exams
VO: Oh! What exams did you write?
ME: GRE and Toefl
VO: pass me your score cards
(He looked at them for like 45 seconds and returned them)
VO: when did you graduate?
ME: August 2008
VO: (Counted down from 2008 to 2014 audibly) that is 6 years. Why are you just going for your masters and what have you been doing?
ME: I actually completed my NYSC in March 2010, so that makes it a little over 4 years. I have been teaching junior and senior secondary students civic education and government respectively at Bethel Group of Schools for almost 3 and a half years. Also, I worked with Cupid Haus Entertainment as the Business Dev. Manager for a few months after I left school in a volunteering capacity(he nodded his head), also, I worked briefly with Diamond Bank Plc, but I have found my niche in the teaching profession and I want to take it to the next level now.
VO: Ok. I noticed you were denied a UK visa in 2011, what happened?
ME: That is very true. I applied with my girlfriend and we were both denied(lamba... I applied alone). We were asked to appeal against the decision but we never did
VO: Why not?
ME: My girl lost her dad at the time, and I needed to be by her side(yet another lamba)
VO: Thats good (nodded his head). Are you single or married?
ME: (as a sharp Nairaland guy) No, but I got engaged on May 5th.
VO: good. What other school did you apply to?
ME: University of Oregon and University of Oklahoma.
VO: good. So, is this your coming with you on this trip?
ME: no, she's very busy with work
VO: So, who's sponsoring you?
ME: My uncle
VO: Has he ever done something like this for you before?
ME: Absolutely! He has been responsible for my education since my mom died, and he has been very supportive of my dreams and aspirations. In fact, I have been living with him since 1993( Final lamba)
VO: do you have his bank statement?
Me: Sure( passed it to him)
VO: (looked at the opening balance of 1.7 million, flipped a few pages to the closing balance of 4.8 million, the returned it to me) Congratulation! You can...... I know even hear the rest.

People posting transcripts should help others by being explicit, and desist from using bleeps and xyz school and stuffs like that. (My personal opinion though)

House, Does anyone know about ECE? I intend using them to evaluate my transcript. I remember someone once mentioned that he/she used ECE and found them way better than WES.......

House, I have 2 questions: Which transcript evaluation agency make sense pass to use, how does one use the Nairaland e-mailing system. I have never used it before and it says I have 2 new PMs.

All candidates MUST submit:

1. Original transcripts, test scores, and other requested academic information DIRECTLY from the institution attended or testing agency. No scanned or hand delivered transcripts or scores can be accepted.
2. All accepted candidates MUST first submit a bank draft or direct wire sum of $7,300 BEFORE an I-20 can be issued. This sum represents APPROXIMATELY two semesters of tuition and must be on deposit with the university.
3. All accepted candidates must submit a bank statement showing $17,284 for 12 months of tuition and cost of living.

Should I just look for another school to make the number of schools am looking at 4 again or what?

Syahboyo and house, I tried registering for my GRE with my GTB naira master card today and the dude on the other end kept saying transaction declined. Should I try visa card or is master card acceptable?

@Ferdimako, The breakdown is: Reading 26, Listening 22, Speaking 22 and Writing 29. 99 total. Those greedy people no fit add 1 point make I reach hundred lol.......

@Ferdimako,I made the same mistake when I wrote my Toefl on July 13th at First Logic- i spent longer than necessary on the reading part- but I did try my utmost to make up for the lost time though. I just checked my result now. I got 99 - not a bad score I hope. I am just trying to take it one step at a time........

@Babsharon, Could you send me the letter of support to sordicafis@yahoo.com? Others, what does transcript evaluation entail? At what point am I gonna need/do it? I came out with 2.9 GPA and I want to know how it will affect my GPA. I am preparing for fall 2014.

Oluwawapelumee: You need to confirm with the school....if your I-20 carries family funds.....its fine...but if they specify names on your I-20 you will have to show the VO the same statement.
For example my I-20 carries "Sponsor" and beneath were it indicates health insurance; it specifies my sponsors name(my dad).....
Point is b sure.

@Lisadem and @Pelumee, Thanks a lot fam! I got the point and I do appreciate. I guess I need to feel a sponsor's name in the proof of financial sustainability form by schools?

House, My aunt is the sponsoring me but she is not going to be around until December. My uncle is willing to give me his statement of account to submit to schools in fulfillment of the basic documentation requirement, since I am submitting my applications in September.I still plan to take my aunt's statement of account to the embassy eventually. Will the VO know that I submitted a different statement of account to the schools?

Yvete: Do not pay out of pocket for a masters in Pol. Sci or Intl Relations. I got an invitation to Penn State after my bachelors, but I'm not interested in another degree that people will keep asking "what are you going to do with this"? Its frustrating unless you wanna teach.
Cancel out MSU anyways. Good school, but for Pol. Sci, look for schools in the Washington/New York area.

Thanks a lot for the info, but I have a few questions for you: why do you think MSU is out of the question? I want to go into teaching and I intend to get a scholarship. I am working towards at least 100 in toefl and 300 and above in gre. Why NY and WA areas?

bigfrancis21: I think your universities are ok so far as they can qualify on these 4 areas - credible academic curriculum, high chances of obtaining financial aids, affordable cost of school fees just in case you don't get any financial aid, and lastly the weather of the containing environment.

I finished from OAU in 2008 and it was very affordable then but am not so sure now but going by the tradition there they do not increase tuition fees indiscriminately.The school is also one of the best in this country if not the best.
