Schooling in Nigeria is a nightmare. Some people were in the travel sections lambasting a guy that wanted to go to the University of Rwanda. My brother, University of Rwanda is better than the best of ours here in terms of decency, serenity, civility and sanity

I like Soludo but hates APGA. They are full of deception. From that red long-cap wearing deceiver to APGA members, with their stupid picture of Governor or Ojukwu in their ankara.

Travel › Re: Relocating To The UK With Family Of 3 Kids For Postgraduate Studies by Focusmind: 5:00pm On Feb 18, 2021
Obadamisi:
Relocating to the UK with family of 3 kids for postgraduate studies and eventual job opportunity. Is it a good idea? The Canada relocation process seems cumbersome. Any one with relocation experience, PG studies and job opportunity?

Please help
Relocating with your family to uncertainty is a big risk. Do you currently have a stable job in Nigeria or is your spouse meaningfully engaged in Nigeria? Students job in UK are difficult to come by and very competitive. Except if your spouse will be engaged in something meaningful on getting to UK. Most of these jobs are hourly paid jobs, which may not bring in much.

Securing decent job after masters is also very difficult these days. It is always depressing to see yourself hustling for jobs after spending millions in UK for masters. COVID19 has worsened an already bad job market situation. So I ask again, do you have meaningful job you are doing in Nigeria? If yes, hold on to it and continue with the Canada route.

Balkan:
Tinubu and Yorubas brought this evil to our dear country.
You sold your southern brothers to the north for 2019 which was the agreement with Tinubu.

In 2019 they outsmarted you again for 2023. Instead of you to come back to your brothers to realign, you are waiting for 2023 meanwhile, your forest has been occupied. The same mistake Afonja made over 100yrs ago, is repeating itself with Tinubu being modern-day Afonja.

The Hausas have rejected Fulanis
The middle belt has rejected them
The East rejected
All the tribes have rejected them.
Instead of the Yorubas to reject them, they are still romancing with them as husband and wife.

If you miss this opportunity to reject this Fulanis,
Your land would be gone

Use your teeth to count your tongue.
Use your common sense bro. Why must you bring politics to problem considered to be a national problem?

The same killings happened under your beloved Jonathan. We should be concerned on how to solve our national problems and leave politics of bitterness.

Nobody or tribe is the cause of the problems Nigeria is facing. We are all collectively guilty, including your own tribe.

Travel › Re: How Do I Get A Job As A Waiter Overseas by Focusmind: 6:45pm On Feb 17, 2021
It is extremely difficult I must tell you, especially if you are black and a non resident.

I remembered doing multiple interviews as a waiter while studying in Scotland. I was told privately by the lady that interviewed me that the hotel owner asked her to reject me because of my accent.

Most whites are still not comfortable being served food by blacks. There are lots of black chefs and waiters overseas, but most are citizens and have adapted to the society, with "acceptable" accent.

Keep trying, luck may smile at you. If hired, you may even be deployed to other areas of the hospitality industry that are not customer-facing.

I just spoke with him and he said 150k. I asked if he’s sure and he said “Yes for good water.”

He has been working in Cooperative Villas for almost two decades now. You can just pop into the estate office or anyone you meet in the estate to inquire about him.

He’s called Pastor.
Ok thank you. I am currently outside Lagos. I will ask my site caretaker to do the enquiry for me.

I pity you. That's all I have to say.

Marriage can make or mar a man. If you get it right, you live happily and if you get it wrong, it will affect your whole life, including your ability to be successful and think cognitively.

Please for the sake of your sanity, go for someone that values you and for whom you are. As I said before, I pity you.

Getting good water is not easy in that areas though but even at that 350k is too much.

I lived and did a lot of projects in that area for years.

+/- 200k or max 250k should give you something good depending on the terrain. The land is marshy swampy land and it requires depth in some areas.

I’ll get a more realistic figure from my contact in Cooperative Villas

_______
This is coming from a long term resident of Cooperative Villas Badore and a landlord at Unity Estate Badore. grin grin
Ok, I will be expecting your response as the site is beside Cooperative Villas. The guy that did his in January last year said that he paid 250k to the same contractor to get to the required depth of clean water and the water is good.

The cost varies based on the type of pump used. Interdab submersible pump costs 55k as of today. Other pumps cost as low as 35k.

She didn't come up with the Trump's thing in the first place. She was simply asked why she was opposed by Trump and people are here saying she could simply move on. She needed to answer.

I know that most Nigerians, when you ask them question about certain things, they will just say, "it is God."

You are making sense but not all company will give the offer till you leave your former work place. Some will ask for confirmation of your resignation
Also for the minimum wage thing, I quite disagree. Look at shell, chevron, agip are you saying they use the Nigerian minimum wage structure.

My brother it is our own fellow Nigerians that are killing us. The country head of my previous company earns about 3m monthly and does not care about the staff.
Nawao! But even shell and other oil companies do not pay same across countries. People in Aberdeen receives something different from Nigeria. A guy that was once in Norway, working for Statoil Hydro of Norway put in transfer to come to Nigeria. His pay in Nigeria is still good but lower than the pay in Norway. So, countries peculiarities are also considered in staff emoluments for multinationals.

Someone is also with Reckitt benkiser in Nigeria but when he went to Greece on transfer, his pay in Greece was higher than in Nigeria.

Romance › Re: Valentine: Take A Pic Of Your Gift Package And Comment Your Val's Name. by Focusmind: 5:03pm On Feb 14, 2021
NewDelhi:
Here in the states, Valentine ain't that popular. Same can't be said for what's happening over there in Nigeria. Nothing special. The noise is getting irritating.
Many girls and wives will take it out on their struggling men and husbands when they see the unnecessary chest-beating from their friends about their own gifts.

Love is everyday and shouldn't be just for one day. Even if you didn't give out any gift today and he or she knows that you love and cares, it is irrelevant as long as you have shown your partner love on many occasions. Make showing love to your partner be a constant thing so that you don't need to put your self under pressure in trying to impress him or her on the so called valentine day.

As for me, we are chilling together right now watching her own program on the television.

Nawao! Who supplies them with ammunition? Agreed that gun could be gotten or stolen somewhere. What happens when they need bullet? Where do they get the bullets from? Gun without bullet is useless. What it means is that there may be an official pipeline of bullets supply.

Our DSS, NSO, intelligence, NSCD and others should be smart enough to know the source.
Travel › Re: Nigerians Studying In RWANDA by Focusmind: 7:57am On Feb 14, 2021
People are here laughing at the guy without knowing the level Nigeria has degenerated into. For your information, University of Rwanda has a top notch infrastructure that beats the best of ours here.

UN, World Bank and humanitarian donors invest heavily in their schools. You are sure of graduating as at when due and availability of scholarships. With student's visa, you have opportunity of applying to embassies for internships and study opportunities in other countries which are lacking in Nigeria.

Nigerian students pass through the worst difficulty in education. Our learning environment is so chaotic and disorganised to support meaningful learning. It also gives you the opportunity to learn French and having lived in another country.

Bro, if you have the money or have secured scholarship to study in Rwanda, please proceed. Don't listen to all these people looking down on Rwanda. Until you leave this country, you won't understand the level of decadence our country has degenerated into because of bad leadership.

To burst your head, many Nigerians from wealthy homes are currently studying at Universities in Botswana and Namibia with sound infrastructure and decent city lives. Not everybody can put up with the level of insanity in our national and social lives here.

I for one, given an opportunity between studying in Nigeria's local universities and University of Rwanda, I will pick the later. The HR of my client's company finished at Makalele University in Uganda before the age 20 and she is currently doing very well.

One of the greatest gift is the love you show to someone totally unknown. Why not join us as we take God's love to the street.
So conductors and Agberos are the people you guys will be targeting to show love? I am sure you guys will be going there with full video coverage and picture taken?

Leave Agberos and street urchins from your Valentines day support. You know where the real poor and needy people could be found for your support. But you chose a popular bus stop to attend to bag and money snatchers.

I am not hating on your project o but leave the Agberos and channel your resources where they are most needed.

Here is the cost of veranda wrought iron hand railing
Each unit of the veranda cost 75,000
Bro, what type of door is in the front of that veranda? My own veranda is not fully covered by the roof like this one as I want to feel and see direct sunlight and clear sky when in the balcony. My concern is the door as the door will be exposed to the rains. I intend using hard wood (iroko) mahogany wood but don't know how sensitive it is to the waters.

Ikpeazukerosene:
Crypto is capable of ruining the Bureau De Change business dominated by northerners. That is why you will not see the average northerner support crypto.
The funny thing is that if the average Northern youth understands how crypto works, they will embrace it wholeheartedly. If you check stats, Opay and Paga did very well in Kano and other northern states.

Well, crypto transactions will happen with or without the CBN and whatever the North feels. The North can not hold the rest of Nigeria back because of selfish reasons.

See your CBN Governor. I'm sure, when they are doing ACF meetings, they call him to serve drinks.
Mehn, this picture carry weight. No wonder Buhari reappointed him against all permutations. Buhari surprised everybody, including himself by reappointing Emiefele that was appointed by Jonathan.
