9jaRealist:Here we go again. Nobody is denying the fact that iron mesh is not used in other parts of the world. Most times, it is used in low density areas and not in a high urban centers where traffic - both human and vehicular are much. The picture you posted showed were they were used in an express way and low density area. See how scanty the area in the picture you posted looks. Compare it to Lagos, where population density is high, with street hawkers everywhere and unruly commercial bus drivers. You need to up your game and ensure that whatever material you are using in those areas could withstand human interference. These are all factored in engineering process. See another express with wrought iron

AutoJosh leave matter. Our standards are just too low in this country. This kind of thing is done using wrought iron. Go to Europe and see how wrought iron that have stayed for centuries were used for road division and this type of work as shown in the picture below Here, we use one fake gauze iron for things like this, despite the fact that the disorder in this country is second to none. Check some of the flower lanes and bus tops where these fake and sub-standard wire gauze were used, they have all spoilt. For you to build things that will last, use superior material.

Fabnaija:Yet when someone dies, you guys type, " May His Soul Rest in Peace (RIP)", so this one is not prayer for the dead? Believe what ever suits you and leave the catholic church alone. The church stoutly believes in the intercession for the death and that's why the Catholics commemorate the "All Souls Day" and the "All Saints Day", to remember the loved ones that have passed and the early Christian martyrs. |
solarview:You are an expert! Thanks. |
They are here flaring dangerous gas in the Niger-Delta and our pot-belly politicians are not doing anything, just collecting penalty money from them. Nigerian politicians are big scam. Why cant they tell shell to put up strategy on how to mitigate carbon emission and gas flaring with timelines and deadline? |
solarview:I intend installing six 250watts solar panel. Is it ok as an expert going by your name? Which means I need to get one more battery. I have two 200AH already. |
mysteryman2014:Hello Bro, I will check the name but it is a wet cell battery that is refillable when the power diminishes |
Nigeria and low standards? Youths and tribal bigots would come now and start defending the indefensible. Nigerian politicians are big SCAM! We will continue to get the quality we deserve. |
mysteryman2014:Your comment is noted My batteries have been working efficiently with the inverter - going up to 8 to 10 hours on full charge. I charge with NEPA when there is light and Gen when there is no light for long time Now I want to install solar to help in charging and storing energy in the battery for future use. You can use the electricity from the solar directly in the afternoon. Lets hear other people using solar. |
Hello People I am planning to install solar panel in my house to generate electricity in my home. I have inverter and battery that are serving me well. I use the electricity from NEPA to charge my batteries and Generator to charge during long period of public power outage. I want to go further to mount solar panel to use the electricity generated by the solar during the day and the electricity stored in the battery at night. For those that have used or are still using solar power, how has the experience being so far? what appliances does your solar panel carry in your homes? how many solar panel is ideal for four bedroom apartment. Moderators, kindly help push to the front page to have robust conversation in this renewable energy of a thing. I hate generators and anything carbon. I am an environmentalist and love green so much. Let the conversation starts!! |
Tony Blair is hustler - The guy is just looking for consultancy work with government. What is the benefit of the visit to the Kaduna people? |
Nobody has asked why the useless school accepted the change of surname of the boy. Didn't the school ask questions before effecting change of name for the boy? I am sure the award is from the school and it was the school that wrote the name. Do they have the obligation to accept the change of surname from Tonto without the fathers authorization? Just imagine my wife going to my son's school to change his surname and the school just agreed without getting in touch with the me. |
They know how much they are making from Nigerian business men and tourists. I have noticed that tourist destination/countries usually have friendly and relaxed visa regimes. They grant generous visas knowing fully well that their economies rely on inflow of visitors to keep oiling it. |
dazzlingd:Why did you respond to him? It is high time we started ignoring these tribal bigots - I call all of them kids. All these tribal warriors online are mostly kids. Please don't honor tribal bigots with your responses going forward. Just ignore and move on and they will mellow down. |
megafaraday:Thank God for the hand over of schools to the missionaries - I went to St. Gregory College, Ikoyi, Mhen, I could not believe my eyes. See detailing, neatness, ambience and panache. Honestly, I was amazed at the standard the church had set for the school. This is how catholic schools all over the world should be. Government have shown that they are incapable of doing anything. Peter Obi of Anambra state started the hand over of schools previously owned by the missionaries back to them and we could all see the transformation of those schools and the intense competition among them in Anambra, including stellar performances in external examination. Archbishop Adewale Martins is doing great with catholic schools in Lagos - St. Gregory, St Finbarrs, St Francis are all top notch. Visit St. Gregory and you would be amazed at the tranquility and beauty of the school and decency of the students unlike the unruly and crude-like behavior of public schools, including the so-called unity schools. |
What ever your thoughts are, Buhari is still very sympathetic to Rochas. Buhari hardly forgets his loyalist. Rochas was the pillar of APC and Buhari in the 2015 Election in the South-East. Even when he came to Owerri in the last campaign, Buhari never campaigned for the APC gubernatorial candidate because of his sympathy for Rochas, he rather told the people to vote the person of their choice. Left to Buhari, he would have told the people to vote for Rochas candidate, Uche Nwosu. Rochas used to be Buhari's Man-Friday, travelling around the world with him before Oshimole came and scattered everything. No matter what, the president still have a soft spot for Rochas despite his failings. No matter what people think of Rochas, the fact that he stood with the president, coming from the South-East, is enough for the president to always give him listening ears. Mind you, I am not a supporter of any politician. This is just my honest view. |
Right to the blood line |
ChristianNorth:Hello, I am bothered about all the politicians that steals our resources - Be it Tinubu, Atiku or Fintiri. I don't follow any politician neither do I support any of them since they are all the same. We should not be blinded by partisan politics not to condem corruption because the person in question is on the side of our political divide. I am not a supporter of Tinubu neither am i a supporter of corruption. |
Is the PDP candidate, Ahmadu Fintiri, the former state house of assembly speaker that took over briefly when the former Governor, Nyako was removed? Within his three months reign, the guy almost ran the state bankrupt with looting. I hope this Fintiri is different from the Fintiri I just described else the state have entered one chance. |
PSG - Confirmed - He is going to resume during Pre-season |
There is a relationship between poverty and backwardness. Look at the quality of the people there, the building and environment. Agreed that the poor boy stole, is it enough reason for them to met out this kind of punishment? Check all of those people gathered there, one way or the other, they had all committed one heinous crime or the other. The fact that the world does not know about their own crime does not make them saint. Honestly, backwardness is the worst disease that could afflict a person or group of people. Live in Europe and you will know that it will take Africans another hundred years to evolve and mature into a reasonable humans. |
I don't know why Lagos State government doesn't disturb the people building houses in this crowded areas without space in Lagos island but will come to Lekki - Ajah axis and be disturbing hard working Nigerians trying to build their own crib. They will come to my estate and mark the red X in buildings, even when the owners have obtained the necessary permits yet they turn blind eyes on what is happening in Lagos Island. |
Civilization is still far from us. Whenever I look at Europe and their way of life, I simple conclude that black man is truly still emerging and evolving into a human specie. |
I love the house. Neat and very detailed unlike the typical Nigerian houses with block works, burglary and unsightly items lying around. See the interlocking like Yankee own unlike the ones done by one Kazeem or Laye. I love houses that radiates simplicity. minimalism and cozy. God continue to bless our hustle. |
The same man that told Adeleke to concede defeat and move on with his life that what will be will be is now talking again. He also told Atiku to "pick that phone" and call Buhari, conceding defeat without telling Atiku to go to court. May be, if Atiku wins in court now, he would be like: " Shebi I no tell you say you go win this court case'. |
Nawao, no light to power the computer for the kids to show the august visitor their computing skills. See how the kids were moping and looking confused. - Electricity is Nigeria's worst nightmare. It stifles business and innovation and is major barrier to starting any meaningful business. |
I don't know why we could not get anti-mines machines and tanks that carries out total cleansing of landmines areas before infantry or ground troops moves in - Check out US soldiers in Afghanistan, Syria and other war zones, even in the early 90's in Angola during the war with UNITA, you see anti mines tanks moving through swathe of land, detonating mines to allow ground troops safe passage. But here, you are on your own. The budget for it may have been embezzled. |
See that their teacher face - Poverty is bad honestly - what kind of motivation do you think the pupils will drive by looking at their teacher. In my primary school in the late 80s, we used to admire some of our teachers based on the way they dressed and they kind of English they spoke. Among them were seasoned Ghanaians mathematicians with their LACOMBS text book and one Mrs. Anna Kwasa of English Language. The primary school was still a public school with good teachers that motivated us to sit for the then Federal Government Colleges unlike the kind of public primary school we have these days. |
Most times, they are killed by Junior officers that are disgruntled or junior officer that the senior officer have done "strong" things. |
People that bears Emeka always look alike and they all have this same kind of smile with dimples and round face. But don't know why ladies see Emekas as stubborn and womanizers. |
Swinger60:Bro, this na replica naa - Anyway, how much last as I wear am come knack my Yinka tailored pint suite, nobody go know say na 10K Rolex. Life na packaging. Na as you package yourself, people go come take de look you. |
