greenprince:Saudi and other rich Gulf states are Arabs and they know what Arabs are capable of doing. They will never allow even their moslem ummah to come in because of violence and terrorists- related activated. Those migrants have turned to Liberal Europeans for help. Yet the same people that are seeking help are also constituting nuisance to their host nations. I have lived in Europe and I tell you that the rate of decline in their population is alarming. The far -right party in German called Alternative for Germany, is already afraid that in the next 10 years, the one million Syrian refugees allowed into the country will triple in size because of high birth rate among the Arabs. The high birth rates coming from those refugees have economic importance to the refugees as the host nation pays the woman that gives birth something of EUR800 and in Canada it is about CAD650 every month till the child get to like 5 or 8 years. So, most migrants including Nigerians, have the tendencies to give birth at will to get State's patronage and support but some far right and conservative elements in Europe are now against their continued stay in their country which is fueling populist support in Europe. |
fatymore:It is not about population, it is about demographic change. Czech have a very small population but wants to maintain their cherished identity. countries like Hungary, Poland, Norway and even Austria are doing the same. Victor Orban of Hungary has been at loggerheads with EU over migrants quotas allocated to his country. He made it clear that he wants to maintain the Christian identity of his country and Europe at large. That is why he has refused to take asylum seekers from Syria Africans and Arabs are known to breed and born children in large numbers and they fear that the trend if not check will cause demographic disruptions in future since their own populations are declining. |
Why do people think that Nigeria would still develop? For me, not possible. Leadership is a product of the greater environment. Look at the decrepit building called a faculty building in a University. People that rules countries are product of their respective institutions and value system of the environment. When people condemn our police force and other security agencies and government officials, i laugh. They are a product of systems that were not meant to work. Products from this kind of University will be more toxic to their immediate environment than being good. Our leaders have killed us. As i always said, descent environment have a correlation with quality of learning. I weep for my country. |
casanova96:Hello, am sorry seeing this now. You can resend it again |
Andywinnie:Andywinnie, We have Mgbuka both in Nkpor and Obosi. Mgbuka means were cars are broken down into useful components - There is one in Obosi. |
Nne, I beg you, if your Daddy has the money to take you to ABUO, please go. You will graduate before your mates in FUTminna. You have the opportunity to interact with the children of the rich. Trust me, you will build a valuable contacts with students at ABOU. You have the opportunity of studying in a very descent environment. You have opportunities of enjoying your course and equip you for the oil job you have been dreaming about. You interact with lecturers willing to teach unlike the sadists in public universities. You graduate in record time to qualify for entry level aptitude tests in multinationals and top consulting firms. Please, leave and go to ABUO . . Don't think twice. Thank Daddy for the idea. |
ExpertNLer:You think na every graduate de sabi all these things . You will be shocked that greater percentage of graduates are not even aware or heard about PTDF before. |
Daud1016:I just got two people to register now to apply for the M.Sc. - Both first class still looking for job. The portal is open |
Zangazanga:I responded - |
AKB1:Since you are for M.Sc., you are competing with people from your state - sharpen your communication skills and talk well if given the opportunity. Most of the panelists at the interview may be from Engineering background and will struggle to understand your research and statement of purpose coming from none engineering background. Being an M.Sc. candidate, explain your statement of purpose very well and situate it to the oil and gas industry. The competition is fierce and you are competing with people from your own state. Hope for the best as I cant say much as I don't know what the interviewers will be asking. Go through the thread for comments made by people here. |
AKB1:You can research into financing options for renewable energy ; funding of large gas field development using project finance ; investment appraisal methods in upstream development ; effects of taxation and fiscal regime on petroleum investment; ;funding of joint venture and production sharing contracts |
scarplanet:Thanks for your response. His initial proposal haven't much to say about oil and gas since interviewers emphasises much on applicability of the research to oil and gas. His course of study is none technical, it is on finance. So I had to redraft to suit the oil and gas, which I want him to go to the interview with and a copy to give them. I got PTDF scholarship with a finance background related to oil and gas. Thats what I wanted to do for him. |
jjohndoe83:Sorry, seeing this now. You could have sent to me through nairaland private mail. Honestly, I don't share my personal details, including email online. Nevertheless, we can still review and if the reviewed one is better than the one you submitted, come to the interview with the new one. |
scarplanet:For PhD, can you come with a new research proposal different from the one you submitted during application if invited for interview ? I helped reviewed someone 's proposal and gave him a more formidable research topic. |
bettyLad:Duration it takes from starting the process in Nigeria and receiving it from the embassy in nigeria. Some could be longer. |
Unnecessary chest beating - some people see fine structures as a sign of development. Development is about the quality of life of the people. Like someone that has been opportune to visit Nnewi, the town is just a local village. Despite the so called number of billionaires, you wont even notice it in the dilapidated infrastructures that stares you in the face. Very poor road network, highly congested, no descent space for relaxation, highly polluted, village - like life style. Please I am not hating, but did not see the impact of the so called billionaires. As long as the generality of the people are still poor, nothing interesting about the few rich ones, not only in Nnewi but Nigeria as a whole. Development is about people and not about few rich billionaires. |
Why that bridge? So he wants to drive his Bentley into the house or what? The contractor should do a nice landscaping job. The compound did not do justice to the mansion. The landscape need to be properly done with grasses, trees and flowers. The cost of that bridge can still build a mini duplex or four bedroom bungalow |
E no go pass poor people. The parents may not be doing anything meaningful. I don't know why the rich hardly have triplets except through IVF. You can't question God at all. |
zeromeridian:They won't regret anything, rather you guys will be the one that will regret it because of your hatred for the nation. Make peace and build alliances across board. After you will be crying marginalisation. |
Duru009:Check Naira land thread on migrating to Canada either through federal skill or provincial nomination. Canada seems the easiest and the darling of Nigeria middle and upper class - as at my last count -19 families have moved I know have moved. Wife is putting pressure but am not cut out for any relocation. My success is here in Naija but if this place is difficult for you, try and relocate. if that I was not doing well, I would have considered but at this my age, early forties, I wouldn't want to start competing with sharp smart young guys for jobs abroad since my current job is paying me well in Nigeria. check the thread, it is easy and you can do it yourself. Don't hire any agent. |
LegalOpinion:You are right! A lady did same. She didn't want to include the husband even though they were not yet divorced then but having serious marital problem. So she wanted to relocate with the kids. But she was asked to disclosed the status of the husband - whether dead, alive or divorced. That was where she got stocked and had to inform the man which he vehemently refused. If she had indicated single mother, it would have been easier but she indicated married but did not want the husband to be in the picture of the whole thing. |
Not just reading, you have to read books that will impact your intellectual ability. It is not about reading James' Hardy chase or all these make believe romantic novels. Watch good TV documentaries, read news article and journals. Be current in the world affairs. Watch good TV interviews of influential people, discovery channel, NATGEO and intelligent debates. These are the totality of things that enriches one's knowledge. |
Are you married or single parent? You can start the Canadian federal skill immigration programme that has taken large chunk of Nigeria middle class. Most of my friends have relocated but I am not cut out for this abroad stuff. I wouldn't want to go and start life afresh at this my age and I seems comfortable here. God has been kind to me so far. I believe that when my kids grows up, they will find their level. I don't need to deny myself some comfort and luxury just because I want my kids to have a better future. I need to enjoy my life why still young. I travel and come back and can't enjoy a better place than Nigeria despite all our problems. Start the process for Canada PR, it may take 3 to 5 years for you to be issued with permanent resident card. Ensure you have sufficient fund, upwards of 4m and above in your account. Get your hubby to be involve to speed up the process. |
Sequence001:Not compulsory. We had the two year post study programme then. It may not make sense to come back if you don't have a firm offer. The uncertainty in the Nigerian labour market can make some one depressed. I will rather continue with my per hour job in UK or hook a citizen there and get papers than to come back to hopelessness. If I didn't get the Nigerian job, I wouldn't have bothered returning. I was already exploring options of how to remain in UK legally. You can take the route of marriage, but ensure you court a decent lady. I had a lot of Nigerians ladies that were UK citizen if you don't want to go for whitey. I could have gotten married to them and process my paper as we were also from the same state and attending same church. |
chloride6:Nigeria architects could be daft. No innovation. Same blocky works and design every where. Must they put these disgusting pillars? No green landscaping and trees. I personally sketched my own house and told the engineer to do the proper drawing of what I sketched. |
jjohndoe83:That's fine - No problem |
MvpSplendor:Typical Nigerian Youth - always impatient to learn and read |
ChiefAzubuike:Be WARNED!!
|
99.9% of the registered companies are one - man business. 95% of those companies are yet to commence business because of lack of funding. 90% of the companies will likely close before their fifth birthday because of harsh operating condition. 95% of the companies will employ only one person, most likely a family member. Until we start having foreign direct investment and registration, all these registration will not translate into economic and job growth. |
Village and Local! Our standards are still very low in this country but our citizens will keep on been contented with whatever comes their way. Nobody is beefing you guys jaree. As long as the generality of the masses are still very poor, luxury and all these glittering makes no meaning to them. |
Oluwasaeon:Infographics is the best form of presentation. Descriptive and quantitative writing gets people more confused. That's why UN and other world agencies use Infographics in their analysis. |
