topsy23:4.5 and eight 330W. It is only the masters bedroom AC that I put on with inverter . I on the one in the living room if I have visitor and switch back to public power. New inverter 1hp window AC works well with low voltage compare to split unit of comparable capacity based on my observations |

somehow:Honestly, I don't believe in using many windows as a form of energy savings in Nigeria with our dirty environment and poor air quality. For me, the windows in the house may be small in number but big in sizes, just for beauty and aesthetics. For quantifiable energy savings, I use solar as my energy source now. I only switch to the mains on cloudy weather. But since December last year and now, with the intense sunlight and harmattan, my solar has been my source of power. So, my prepaid meter has remained un-recharged for the past three months with good savings in energy cost. Ensure you have energy efficient deep freezer and ACs. The window AC may be out of fashion but a new 1hp window AC runs well with solar, lesser power demanding than split unit. My reason for having 1hp window AC for the rooms. 3 Likes |

coldcandy:Some of Nigerian interior decorators knows nothing about decoration. For some, their own understanding of interior decoration is putting lights of different colours, stuffing and cluttering everywhere with heavy duty furniture and curtains. Mere looking at Houzz website could give one an idea of a modest and minimalist decor for any given space. That's my own idea of decoration. More of space; less of material objects. 2 Likes |

Buhari hardly forgets his loyalists. Check how Rochas campaigned vigorously for Buhari in 2015 against Jonathan, even when his party APGA was rooting for Jonathan. Very very disturbing at this period that hunger is ravaging the land. Poverty and poor life choices, coupled with non challant attitude of some parents have pushed young adolescent girls into early pregnancy. Secondary school girls are the worst hit. |

This act is alien to Nigerians. Except if you are talking about abroad, especially US. US is the home of charity. People dey craze about giving to charities and instituting foundations and legacies. That's why it is the world capital of charity, NGOs, foundation, think-tank, pressure groups, human rights and civil liberties. Nigerian billionaires do not understand or know what charity is except during election or what to gain by giving and usually done in full glare of camera and video men. |

This is not necessary!!!. They should wait and allow proper investigation. Stand with him on what ground?? The man goofed big time. He should not have called the Police Chief under whatever circumstances. Those guys messed him up big time. He should have paid the $300 traffic fine and move on. Nobody would have heard about the incidence. But as a Nigerian, he went ahead to call the police chief to complain that his boys fined him. We deserve the kind of leaders we get here in Nigeria. See a supposedly leader  This is why they loot and amass so much wealth just to cater for the army of idle children they are giving birth to Certain culture and beliefs systems in the North are somehow inimical to common sense and development and badly affects the country at large. I hardly get motivated listening to our leaders. They do any how, talks carelessly and behaves in a manner unbecoming of a public figure. Just today, the Met Police in London launched an investigation into the 10 Dawning street's chrismas party attended by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, when the whole country was supposed to be under lockdown. They were warned to stop breeding and giving birth like rabbits by the former British prime minister in the mid 30's but they refused. Most of their middle class are struggling to leave the country and move to the West. Nigerians should learn from India. If our unchecked population growth continues without any commensurate economic growth, we are in for a major disaster. Over population could be a curse to a nation if not well managed. Enyinne:It actually looks like those hand crafted hard wood doors that cost up 500k to 1m. I like the natural feel of woods on buildings. Those hand crafted heavy doors fabricated here are very expensive and are usually heavy the way I want. But the prices are pretty dam high. This already made ones for turkey posted here are cheaper. Most Nigerians, as your mum, won't like that type because it is not shiny with lots of gold plated colours. I like them conservative and natural in appearance. I like the feel and look of wood finishes a lot. Be it tiles, doors, TV panels or walls. Natural hard wood finishes are expensive but stands out. 2 Likes |
