otipoju:If you invest love and time in your children, nobody can turn their hearts against you. Children are that simple. A man cannot live his life carelessly and think that providing school fees and feeding money is enough to build a bond. A woman will work just like the man and contribute money also, and still find time to bond with the children. It's not rocket science. It's simple cause and effect. A man that comes to say the mum poisoned the children against him has a big fault there. He has an equal chance with his wife to bond with his children. |
Since the reason you got the car was because of the wife and kids, retrieve the car from your brother. You can either sell it and give her the money to set herself up or give the car to someone else who will be remitting to you. Then you give her a portion of it monthly as it comes. But just get the car from him and let him handle himself. You guys should wash your hands off him and let him go out there like a man and hustle. You guys have babied him too much for too long. You guys have spoilt him enough and are to blame for a lot of his actions. |
Too much igbo for different audience. I remember like 2yrs back, a friend's babe had to travel to the village to take care of her dad who had recently gone blind. Her mum was alive but the father had sent the mum away and married a younger wife. The younger wife left the man and he had to fall back on his children. The babe was advised to go back to Lagos and live her life and not waste it caring for the father in the village. The children had to come together to pay someone to care for him. On the other hand, my mum and all of us were there for my dad for 7yrs of stroke before he passed. He was a typical family man. Took my mum out on company dinners, outings, etc. She sacrificed her time and health for 7yrs for him. So I can relate. Consequences are waiting in front. |
Emmanuel909090:I totally disagree with the second to the last paragraph. Men find it very difficult to forgive cheating women. In fact, it's a big blow to their ego. But a woman will keep staying to patch things up. The man can not cut off totally from the woman does not mean he has to keep sleeping with her if truly he loves his wife. He told her that he would stop but a cheat cannot help himself. I knew a doctor that worked in an HIV centre and he told me that most of the married women who had the disease contracted it from their husbands. That shook me and made me fear men who throw caution to the wind and cheat recklessly. If a man keeps cheating that way, his love for his wife is questionable. How can someone love you and put you in danger? What is love? Definitely not what this man is showing. |
Emmanuel909090:In this case, is it the man or the woman that has fallen out of love? Fixing things means that the person acknowledges his/her wrong and turns away from it. But this man has continued in his cheating ways even after resolution. You say "stop comparing people...", yet you compare women with Tonto. Tonto Dike does not represent the average woman. And her choice of men is a personal problem. Women should not be pushed to stay in an unfaithful marriage. Whatever decision they make should be accepted. If this thread was about a cheating wife, the comments would have been different. The woman would have been called unprintable names and slut shamed. But as it is a man, many men will always support their kind and rationalize the situation to suit them. |
Hathor5:Being a doctor takes much more than graduating from medical school. Having the heart to practice is very important because not everyone will end up in convenient places. Look at doctors in the US during the critical COVID period that had to work tirelessly. Their concern is always for their patients to be well. You can't come and be complaining about not having time for events, etc. I know people who studied medicine but work in sectors where they still use their medical degree but do not attend to patients. It's actually not by force to be in a career if it doesn't match your personality or you don't get satisfaction doing it. Doctors are not called super heroes for nothing o. |
It seems Dr Chi chi does not know what she signed up for? Did anyone choose the profession for her? If it's really affecting her, it's best she switches to other medical practices that doesn't require attending to patients or she should start selling clothes. |
JovialJune:They will call him their favourite, overused empty word...SIMP. |
azraeljaheel:Some of you guys here must just look for a way to turn it on the girl. Change! |
Notice how the op is only aligning mostly with guys that are saying his sister should stay and ignoring those who are pointing out that the marriage is not safe for her. Op since you already knew what you would do, why did you bring it here? To validate your own opinion? |
Some people will still advise her to stay for the sake of her children and of what society will say. |
I think the major determinant here is money. The wife and her family are not buoyant enough to ask her to quit the marriage. Because, no one is thinking of the wife's safety; but only about how she will survive if she leaves. The man has one side chick she knows doesn't mean that's the only woman he is sleeping with, especially as the side chick is even beginning to ration the sex for him. And the man is obviously an advocate of "skin to skin". So where does that leave the wife? If she had her own money or her family did, wouldn't she have run for her life? But op is here looking for a way to keep her there since the burden will fall on him. |
If the man doesn't want her to know about the company, can she force herself there? A woman should also be earning, whether through business or employment. Being a full time housewife is not advisable. |
Ishilove:Someone that will soon carry belle for the same man and complicate her life even more. All this one they are doing is fore-play. She's not ready to help herself yet. |
2ndtimeuncle:The truth is that your sister's life is in danger. She's married to a reckless man. He's not even cheating with protection, but putting her life at risk. The baby mama might be sleeping with other men, and your innocent sister who is probably faithful will just be caught up in all the mess. What if she comes and tells you she contracted HIV? Will you understand the magnitude of the problem? Besides, he has broken the trust between them. It will be hard for her to ever trust him again. |
What kind of excitement is that? |
bukatyne:Exactly. Bad in-laws can destroy a marriage especially if the spouse too doesn't have sense. |
RightToReject:Just the way women used to suffer till the end in marriage because of what people will say or because of the children. Right now women are bold enough to walk away from abusive marriages and some of them can boldly cheat especially when their men are cheating. And even if they used to hide it before, men made it not a big deal to cheat with the way they do it unashamedly. So when we are calling out women, let's also call out the masters of the game. |
2dice01:When you are of the age and you get the understanding, you won't need to search on google. |
RightToReject: |
2dice01: ![]() Chai! There's nothing we won't hear from NL boys. |
I will sign for my husband. My siblings will not expect any different. In fact if my sense is not enough for me to know that I'm to pick my husband, they will advise me to sign for him. |
2dice01:So your mother isn't your father's blood. You would agree with your dad if he signs for his sister rather than your mum? |
I don't think it was this much of an issue when men were cheating hopelessly and being proud of it. Now that women have followed the same path, we will not heard word on the matter. |
Well...my husband is my NOK, Emergency contact, etc. I think that's how it should be. |
Spend time with them doing anything...helping with their homework, taking them out with you when you are going grocery shopping or going around the corner, and buy them ice cream. You can also get involved with their grooming; bathing them, brushing their teeth, if they are still small. Children are easy to win over. You just have to invest time. |
jclassiq:Your eyes ehn! |
CharisEleos:I'm there. That's why I understand it. Has God's salvation ever made a man above sinning? If it has, why do we ask for forgiveness when we pray? You have already agreed that a true Christian can fall. So why are we still dragging this matter. And why are you trying to cover the truth with spirituality? |
CharisEleos:Can a REAL born again Christian fall? Yes. They are human. Can someone who is just a casual Christian who prays once in a while, reads his Bible only in church on Sundays be faithful and an ideal husband? Yes. He still has a conscience. But of course he becomes even better with being closer to God. We can't act sanctimonious and believe that everything follows a particular pattern and there's no room for what our minds cannot accept. God that knows more than all of us knows why these things are so. We need to open the eyes of our understanding instead of being naive Christians. |
CharisEleos:You see only white and black. You should consider grey areas too. What is a fully regenerated soul? Is that person human? Was King David not the closest to God? Didn't his flesh not fail him? Our father Abraham who we look up to, didn't he give in to his wife's plan? No one is exempted from mistakes or weaknesses because their souls are regenerated. We should just ask God for his grace to keep on. No man deserves that kind of complete trust; we should leave allowance for faults. Only God should be trusted completely. |
