Family › Re: Women Love Their Son Than Daughter Until He Becomes A Husband by ImaIma1(f): 11:45am On Jul 23, 2021
Male and female children are equally important. Women are put at risk to have a boy. My friend is the the 10th girl in her family. The 11th child was finally a boy; thank God he is doing well.

Another family I know, the woman kept having girls till the 11th was a boy. Unfortunately, that boy is a big bone in the mother's throat that the sisters had to move him away from the mother before he kills her.

Each sex has their ups and downs. Though, I wanted a girl first because of their sense of responsibility and care. And I got what I wanted. Her traits at just 3 is fantastic and can bring tears to your eyes.
Family › Re: Why Do Some People Never See Good In Others? by ImaIma1(f): 11:25am On Jul 23, 2021
Your father is the way so many young men are growing up to become. Too much ego and pride to be able to come down from their high horses to actually listen to their children.

Such behaviour from your dad destryis children. You have done well and need to be encouraged. But unfortunately, some people like your dad major on the bad and minor on the good.

The best thing to do is not to expect an encouragement from him so that you won't be disappointed when it doesn't come. Just keep doing what you are doing and commend yourself.

And.. what's wrong in it?

What's the forming for? If any guy you're trying to make believe that you don't fart actually believes you, then he's not intelligent because he should know every living being fart and should fart.

As for the aunty, she did no wrong. It's a normal thing you should have just laughed off. It's simply a way of saying you're now a big girl.

I will never feel embarrassed if anyone does that to me.
It's actually unnecessary for the aunty to start mentioning all the pooing nonsense. The annoying ones are the ones who say "you have started growing breasts".

I sha don't do it publicly to my nephews and nieces.

So instead of going to a hospital or buying a pregnancy strip, you come to Nairaland to ask questions.

When your life is in labour, I hope you will come and ask us instead of taking her to the hospital.

A woman that loves her man would try to look for ways to reduces stress and spending for him, and not selfishly wanting her way even if it's inconvenient for him.

Lizboh:
Read my post well, your being married for 6yrs is just a starting point. With time you will understand how this things work. Take care and understand that marriage is not about what you want all the time, concentrate more on your home and giving your husband happiness and stop following those feminist and that says and teach one thing and went behind close doors to do another thing.
I am not a feminist, have never been and will never be. I am a realist everywhere.

If your version of how things works is dealing with a man who lacks consideration for the feelings of the woman he claims to love, then I don't want to understand "how things work".

6yrs might be a starting point. But it is enough for me to know that sexual experience between couples should be enjoyed by both and not endured by one. Your 20yrs experience should have taught you that.

It is enough for me to know that if my husband wants to have sex with me everyday without caring about my wellbeing, he doesn't love me or care about me.

Taking care of my husband and my home doesn't mean I have to lose myself in the process, or that my husband has to be selfish. Marriage is a union of two people. We become responsible for each other's wellbeing. No selfishness.

Being a husband is not about demanding the wife submits at all times, it's also about loving his wife as Christ loved the church. Do you think that kind of love is selfish, self-seeking and inconsiderate? No it wasn't.

Let's not teach the younger married women that it is ok to tolerate unfairness because they want to make their husbands happy.

I guess you want me to live the fairy story of Nollywood epic movies.

I don't picture myself sitting under one of the tents in my father-in-law's compound that weekend waiting for my wife to come kneel at my feet with wine in her hands.

Hundreds or thousands of hopeful faces gazing at me. Dancers and singers doing their thing. Friends of the bride praying for their turn and associates of the groom making it rain like a Las Vegas strip club.

I understand how the scenario painted above makes women from our part of the country feel. Growing up I watched more than fifty of them give testimonies in church that a canopy was erected at their father's compound to put those who thought they'd never say "I do" to shame.

I don't imagine myself doing that. I enjoy absolute privacy. I will care for my wife and give her most of the things she wants, a lavish wedding ceremony is one of the few wishes I'll deny her.
You sound like my 18 year old nephew. I have told him he will outgrow it. You all do.

Sweety, if that is the tradition, that's exactly what will happen whether you fancy it or not. You think everyone who sits through their wedding really enjoys it? cheesy

And don't be fooled, some men are happier than their brides on the wedding days. Marriage is not important to just women.

I am a full-hearted campaigner for women's right which makes your welcomed advice on why not to be entitled valid yet a reiteration.

Pretty women force me to hug them after fighting to be in my lives. That first hug is often accompanied by an inquiry process because these ladies find my life intriguing. After involuntarily playing detectives for a couple of days, sometimes weeks or months, most of them suggest that I need "someone like them" to care for me. They stress that I deserve to be loved.

I have never believed I deserve someone's daughter. I think I am too poor to make a promise to love and cherish a human female. Contrary to the norm, the girls think I am their entitlement, birth right, soulmate or whatever you'll love to call it.

I always tell them that romance is for the wealthy, but they always insist that they are made for me and we will grow as a couple.

If girls perfectly made for the runway see a poor me as Mr. Right, I am certain a rich me can contract marriage with a beautiful woman in my living room. It doesn't matter if she's always dreamt of wearing a long white wedding dress and walking down the aisle at a well trimmed field, decorated with roses, hibiscus and lilies since childhood.

Imaima1 , I have responded here.
Sounds as fairy tale as Korean movies.

When the time is right for you to settle down, things will get more real.

Abeg,let us hear word
Nigerian girlfriends and wives are no different from OLOSHO,they all need money to commit to the relationship,if the man turns broke,to knack his girlfriend or wife go too hard and girlfr.iends and wives require far more maintenance, care than olosho and after collecting your money, they still start crying for affection...

Many men nowadays just want to have sex,pay and never see them again

Infact, any man that is footing major financial bills in his relationship with wife or girlfriend Is allowed to cheat grin

Some opinions are wild, some conflicting, yet he merely stated his opinion, just like everyone else has been doing. Granted, you didn't agree with him, but it does not warrant being angry or hurling insults on him.
Was that comment an opinion or someone day dreaming of something that he can never do.

So a father will be desperate enough to hand over his daughter to someone who disregards him by sitting in his living room in his night wear to receive his proposed inlaws? In what country does that happen?

You should know that this is Nairaland where so many guys just come here to say thrash to belittle women. Most of these guys cannot even approach a lady in real life.

No matter what story you write, those that their lives depend on call girls will never stop.

I can't really understand how those men do it; throwing caution to the wind and mingling intimately with strange babes.

I don't support lynching especially when the culprit was caught unarmed and it's not a capital offence

If they hand him over to police, all they do is collect bail and let him go
It makes no difference
He should pay for his crime. Stealing is a crime. It starts like that and graduates into bigger crimes when the opportunity presents itself. Those kind of people should be taken off the streets.

The legality involved in a marriage at a registry is what should make you not consider it except you love your bride more than anything you owned, currently own or will own, including your future kids.

Apart from hating gatherings of more than 5 people, I can't kneel before a Pastor. I wish to wear a night gown for a 5-minutes wedding in my living room when I'm ready. Her parents hand her over to me and my parents then I move upstairs to focus on more important things.
Who is this one? cheesy

Some of you Nairaland guys are hilarious. Someone that doesn't even have levels in his compound will come and be forming master on this forum.

When you grow up and read this your post years from now, you will shake your head for yourself.

You implied that the rich will not always be rich; like they must lose the wealth.

Rich can be rich forever and poor can be poor forever.

Reception is not compulsory. Guests can be given take away packs after the church service and everyone goes to their houses from there.

He gets to cut out money for hall, decorations, rentals, MC, etc.

ask a broke Nigerian dude to leave his GF for $10K and see what he says...
I like your objective reasoning. Most guys will come and say terrible things about "Nigerian women" not thinking that they would probably do the same if given the chance.

Money is tempting but a guy/girl that can stay in a relationship despite the temptation in this current economic situation is commendable.

That part of your story just threw me off. Nothing else matters. If she likes, let her lock her phone and cheat on you.
