shugaboy6102: I am full of unhappiness and pain and I don't want to live a life of endurance and pity. Pls nobody should pressure you into getting married, marriage is not a license to live a happy life. If you are single, I envy you.
/ Relationship? There is no right or wrong answer. Every relationship is unique. Do what you have to do and be ready to deal with the outcome. You and only you know the ladies you are dealing with. That's all. /
Decolonel: This Buhari had taken all the appointments of oil that are meant for the south and have given the appointments to the north.
Things fall apart
/ All the Niger-Deltans on NL have gone mute or probably gone to drown their sorrows in ogogoro. Wanna give them erection, orgasm or wake them up from slumber? Mention Igbo.
And the minions will jump out shouting like phantom warriors that they are. I love the Fulani people. No pretense. No sugar-coating. The moves of a real boss. /
/ I can only imagine how they insulted anyone that called this man a scammer two weeks ago. The charm gradually wore away. Touch not "their" annointed.
nkaycherry: One woman 60 buildings! People dey way no get house to sleep one person acquire 60 buildings. Na wa oooo.
/ She doesn't own the 60 buildings. She owns the land and sold plots to unsuspecting public under the guise of estate development. It is the same as those estates being advertised around Ibeju- Lekki area. /
Macauley07: Dear NL. Recently, I was offered admission into a federal university to study psychology. I've always wanted to be a lecturer, so I opted for a course that wouldn't be much of a problem to me. My plan is to give in my best so as to come out excellent, go for my Masters abroad and venture into lecturing.
The problem here is: my parent doesn't buy the idea. They keep saying that landing a lecturing job is hard to come bye these days, that I might end up being disappointed. Moreover, a course such as psychology isn't one to expect any thing good from, especially here in Nigeria.
Now they are pleading I consider Nursing, according to them, I stand a higher chance of getting a job in a nursing profession to psychology. They are planning on sending me out of the country after the program. Should I just dash off my dream of becoming a lecturer to pursue nursing?
I love being around young people, and being in a university setting as a lecturer gives me that privilege to teach, mentor and guide them and at the same time work on my self. I think I'll find fulfilment as an academic. I'm confused, what would you advise me, if I were to be your brother? Thanks
/ If you go to Nursing school, someone will teach you. In future, you could be the one teaching others. In other words, you will be a nurse and lecturer combined--killing two birds with one stone.
vickydankal: Insecurity in men could clearly be seen but not limited to the following : Consuming jealousy Fear of losing your mate to another Spying your wife Excessive monitoring Excessive control Demanding explanation for every friendly greeting, sms, chat or call Demanding access to your phone Stop every outdoor activities especially with the opposite sex Paranoia and disbelief as to your partner’s whereabouts Constant reassurance Fear of your wife's exposure Fear of financial independence Among others
/ Some of these behaviours seem normal and natural with the exclusion of "excessive/control/demand/constant/paranoia" which push the actions to extreme. But by recent events, none of those conditions were met before men were tagged insecure. That moment your side girlfriend tells you that her husband is insecure and you wonder why.
Secure men are the gifts that keep giving. They are the ones that allow their wives to go and do night vigils with pastors because they are secure. They let their wives or girlfriends travel for a business getaway with their male bosses to exotic locations. In other words, if you are not a mugu to your female partner, you are insecure.
Some are looking for wife-friendly occupations while others are looking for pocket-friendly wives.
lonelydora: Wait ooo, which juju do they use on you guys to pay such money?
For someone to even agree to pay 500k means there is something fishy about him
/ When cornered in the middle of no where by an armed group with the threat to kill you and nobody will know, what will you do?
If and when you or your family member gets kidnapped, feel free to question the rationale for paying ransom.
This was kidnapping by uniformed personnel. Interstate road travel in Nigeria as a returnee is a no no. There had been a video circulating online since October warning returnees about SARS around Benin axis. I guess this victim chose to ignore the warning.
Go to Nigeria if it is very necessary. Otherwise, no sane being should pack up and fly into the jungle. /
/ Where do they expect the governor to get the fund to implement the new minimum wage? The first six months is for initial gragra. Then the governor falls back and start settling godfathers and paying off loans obtained for election.
Do you think the cups of rice, bottles of groundnut oil or even grinding machines he shared during campaign fell from heaven? Una don chop una minimum wage. Make I hear say Kogi people wan strike because of unpaid salaries.
Why do you people see fire and can't wait to jump into it? Will your family move in to live with him when you get married? Why would you let your family goad you into perpetual misery?
If and when the inevitable happens, it will be a disservice to humanity to waste R.I.P on you.
charliboy654: When executive is appointing, they need to consider federal character as stated in the constitution. Of what use is Nigeria if the president can't obey the constitution.
/ If everyone (in this case the President) will be upright, the 3 arms wouldn't be necessary in sharing power. Some people are proactive and find preemptive solutions to potential problems. The people who came up with democracy saw the potential for abuse and founded neutralizing solution. In other words, they planned ahead. Nigeria is not practicing democracy. Most people in Nigeria seem to believe that democracy ends with voting. /
Ekene161829: I did something I really regret. My wife and I have an amazing marriage, 2 years of marriage and we are blessed with a 7-month-old baby girl.
She is 28 and I almost 33. Last Saturday I got invited to go out by some of my work friends , I got home late 2am...
As the Executive, he can appoint anyone he wants. It is the job of the Legislative and Judiciary to check his excesses. Blame these two for letting Buhari make mockery of democracy. The three arms of government in a democracy is meant to checkmate one another to eschew abuse. But as always, get the noblest of ideas and hand it over to Nigerians, they will find ways to mess it up.
Did you notice how the Judiciary and Legislative arms of government are putting pressure on Trump? We claim to copy American-style of democracy but it is all fugazi.
xtremeTall: Hello!!,please kindly spare your 1 minutes and advise me because i think ive been following the wrong path for 5 years...
I completed my secondary School Education in 2014 and since then I've been Applying for the Nigeria Armed forces recruitments,i had wrote their Aptitude Test Exams like 8 to 9 times before i eventually passed the Airforce Exams for 2017.
i went for their Physical screening in Kaduna,we undergo staunch health Screening."Thier medical facilities there are Top notch o"..anyway,i was disqualified for ill health reason,(i have a short sightedness),with tears in my eye i inform my Dad who had been very supportive the news.
To cut my story short,i had been doing some work i don't really like since i gave up Career in the Nigeria Armed force.I am determined to go back to the university and study Law,,i know my parents would be glad to know i had came up with this idea but I'm thinking at 23?..IS IT POSSIBLE..i need your advise pls
Mods pls help
/ I don't think you should go back to school at 23 because your idea of school is thwarted. What does the term "school" mean to you?
They talk themselves out of jobs during interviews. It could be anxiety or plain nervousness. I won't discount desperation as a contributing factor. One guy even had the audacity to tell his interviewers that the job was his last hope else he would jump off a cliff. Go figure!
/ These are the real heroes--the kamikaze of our generation.
Anyone that is brave enough to go on bike riding competition in Nigeria knowing fully well that on crash, at least five hospitals will reject you before you join your maker is nothing short of Alexander the Great of our time.
/ Did Jonathan deserve 2nd term? Never! God forbid. He supervised the plundering of the national treasury.
Did Buhari deserve a win over Jonathan? Yes! Anything but GEJ at that time was in order.
Did Buhari deserve 2nd term? No! This is where Nigerians got it wrong. They reinforced failure. His first term was abysmally painful. One would think that Nigerians will continue voting out mediocres until they get it right. I didn't see Atiku as a better option. The issue is that Nigerians respond more to emotions than logic which is why it is very easy to distract them with inconsequentias. The political class knows this very well and use it to their advantages. 2019 election was held on zero ideologies. Did Buhari possess WAEC? Is Atiku a Nigerian? Nobody was keen on addressing major challenges facing Nigeria. Even the once respected but bastardized professionals called journalists were harping on these gimmicks instead of asking tough questions.
Everyone knows the occupational hazards of political thuggery which may include but not limited to injuries, wounds, death. They died in active service. Don't forget that they were already paid.
IYC need to figure out how to wrestle power away from the Igbo part of Rivers State. Odili, Amaechi, Wike are not Ijaw. Ijaw people claim to be warriors. So the other parts of Rivers have resorted to using them as thugs since they claim to love fighting. It is time for introspection. Unleashing Asari Dokubo once in awhile to start yarning dust about Ijaw supremacy (even though their subservience is self-evident) is not a good political move.
Tembebe: Well,InvertedHammer, thank God for small mercies, you didn't add moronic imbe.cile to my moniker this time around, lolz. OK, there was no where I said Yorubas are loving while igbos are hateful. Nowhere!!!! I never made any comparison in favour of any tribe on this forum, ever. Feel free to show where I did, pls. Now,my comment that day stemmed from my observation from the time I joined in 2010 or so,(though under a diff moniker) till current. The two tribes would always yab one another almost every time on almost every news thread throwing insults upon insults at each other. But one thing I have noticed is the penchant for calling the yorubas dirty, ugly and that they can't cook by the igbos all the time that I keep wondering why it is so considering the fact that all tribes in Nigeria have their fair share of the ugly, the dirty and culinary clueless. I,for one am from Akwa Ibom but married to an Ondo man And I have met very beautiful Yoruba ladies and also handsome men I have also met very many ladies and indeed families who are extremely neat and are good in the kitchen too Hence my comment that if I haven't been to southwest before and married one of them,I would have believed what the igbos say about the yorubas on this forum Of course, I have seen the extremely dirty and ugly ones too. My point is these two categories I have seen too where I come from and among the igbos too,it is not the preserve of the yorubas alone. Remember the thread in question was about Anthony Joshua, where an Igbo guy said he doesn't look like the yorubas. I felt it was a pure mischief on the part of the person cos there are countless yoruba guys like that and I pointed that out. Look, the above was why I made the comment that u quoted,if you felt slighted by it,I'm sorry.
/ So you are not aware that some people on Nairaland are still in Secondary schools? Haven't you heard of trolls?
VirginSearcher: Do you know what is 30 good minutes and u survived, if they really wanted to kill u, they would have.. this story looks fishy to me
/ So in your little world, everyone is perfect in his or her chosen profession. If we have incompetent doctors, lawyers, architects, mechanics; what makes you think incompetent assassins do not exist? God's willing it wasn't her time. You and your ilks can hire better shooters next time.
Vick4rill: The minimum time l masturbate in a day is four times. A times six or seven. l look so lean and weak, am always tired due to this habit, l find it hard to relate with girls despite being an extrovert.
/ Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
You got to pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers.
