Nigeria Did not Burn Because Of Kanu.
He does not have hair in the middle of his head.
He is completely on his own.
No man has ever won a fight with any Government in the World.
He is suddenly mature as for the first time, he kept his mouth shut in the court.
The British Government and the Ibo Nation have washed their hands, off him and he is regretting. / Do I support Kanu? No. Do I respect him? Yes! Why? He has a conviction and is fighting for what he believes in. If he dies in the struggle, people would know his stand. But you will rather die like a chicken than fight for anything because you have no faith in your capabilities. As a coward, it is easier to run to a church and call on God to come down from heaven to better your life instead of being proactive. You can disparage Kanu all you like. But take a closer look...that's a real man and what men used to be. Not the sissified metrosexuals like you. / |

If the Federal government is serious and honest, a good start will be to have Julius Berger commence work on Enugu-Osha expressway as a matter of urgency. Ndi Igbo had so many similar meetings/jamboree during 8yrs,10yrs of OBJ and GEJ respectively. Yet nothing concrete came out of it. Federal roads are in shambles. No 2nd Niger bridge. I won't be surprised if brown envelopes were passed around to ensure that the self-annointed leaders maintain taciturn approach to the plight of ndi Igbo in the country.
Then you think about it. How do one curry favour from a President that ndi Igbo roundly despised during the elections? Just like Biafra, ndi Igbo lost the war (this time electorally) and will continue to bear the full consequences.
Hausa people have it good in terms of Federal presence. They lost to GEJ but GEJ developed the North and neglected his primary constituency. He was busy building almajiri schools while Otueke has no drinkable water supply. Now an Hausa man is back to further the Northern agenda. GEJ's stint in Aso Rock was a once in a lifetime opportunity. But he blew it big time. If anyone thinks the North is going to honour the N-S rotation of the Presidency, good luck. The Hausa clans give a block vote. Yoruba voters are like chameleons. Igbo voters follow the highest bidder. So factoring in all these variables, the Presidency remains in the North until something similar to Yar'Adua's saga plays out again.
It shall be well. No! It won't.

Kyase: The paramount ruler and Obi of Onitsha in Anambra State, Igwe Alfred Achebe, has condemned the widespread protests by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who are calling for the separation ofthe entire south-east regionfrom Nigeria.The condemnation came on the heels of agitations and protests for Biafra nation across parts of the country, especially as the protesters clamoured for the release of the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, who had been in detention since October.Speaking in an interview shortly after his inauguration as the Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, IgweAchebe told the protesters to shelve the idea of secession from the rest of Nigeria.He said that such agitation would only amount to violating the constitution ofthe country and the principles of democracy.The traditional ruler reminded the pro Biafra agitators of the inherent dangers involved in their action, emphasising that Nigeria remained a united and indivisible country irrespective of the numerous challenges.He urged them to channel all their grievances to their elected representatives in the National Assembly for consideration, rather than embarking on violent protests that could result into breakdown of law and order in the region.- TodayNG
http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/obi-of-onitsha-condemns-pro-biafra-agitators.145036/ / It is difficult to take the pro-Biafrans seriously. What are they protesting? Dilapidated infrastructure or lack of Federal presence in the SE? If OBJ's 8 years and GEJ's 10 years could not fix SE roads and the thorny 2nd River Niger bridge, then it is id.iotic to assume that 6 months of PMB will use a magic wand to perform wonders. Alternating between recumbency and militancy will not solve the problem. They must embrace and negotiate with the center to achieve the desired results. But it is regrettable to note that the few that have access to the Presidency are only in it for egoistic and pecuniary reasons. The truth is: Biafra is not going to happen soon, if at all. Continue surviving: 8years of 1BB + 4years of Abacha + 8 years of OBJ + 10years of GEJ + 8 years of PMB = 38 years on survival. And you are still comfortable on survival mode? SMH. That's one of the reason why it is difficult to empathize with Nigerians when things get rough. Nigeria is not about GEJ and PMB. In all indices, none of these two deserves to be a president. olafunny: Hi nairalanders,
A brother, who is currently working with a company in ibadan and also stays in ibadan, has got himself in a condition which he needs nairalanders to be of help.
The issue is;
where he's working nw, he's been paid something above 80k sha which is obviously not the worth of the job and his kind of person cuz he has his ph.D. But because of the situation in the country, he decided to stick to the job till he gets another one. His hustle paid off last week friday when he got another job in Lagos and the pay is above 130k with other monthly allowances. According to him, he loves his current job as it's less stressful and makes him closer to his family. He considers Lagos as a place that is very stressful and will probably cause him to relocate. But the pay is higher.
Now, he's thinking of threatening his current boss with his new job nd pay, maybe the boss might increase his salary and beg him to stay. He is staying with his younger brother in one of the houses his father built before he died. So he doesnt pay house rent with his salary. All that will change when he get to Lagos.
What he wants Nairalanders to do for him is to advice him whether;
-to go for the new job since the pay is high and try to get used to Lagos situation and since he is a ph.D holder, he might higher opportunities from there.
-to stay and continue with his current job since his expenditures are far low.
-to threaten his boss to increase his salary. What if the boss dismisses him? He might end up being in where his mind doesn't.
Thanks in advance. / Why would he threaten his boss when he can always negotiate? / |

Life happened!!! We've both been hit by series of events that have adjusted our perspective on how we view life which has undoubtedly affected us. Since the beginning of this year, we've been on a free fall with our emotions. We've not had intense quarrels neither have we had intense passion being together of late (I admit, they both spice up a relationship) and we have grossly neglected each others feelings. We both played our roles in getting to where we are now, I feel the door closing in fast on us and I can't stand this flip-flop of emotions involved.
We've tried taking a break and that didn't work, I have suggested severally that we just remain friends and end the relationship but I really don't know why she doesn't agree to that. We can't just stand each others bullshit anymore but still a part of us wants it to go back to how it used to be I guess that's the reason we've been hanging on.

Food › Re: Why Instant Noodles May Be Destroying Your Health by InvertedHammer: 3:56pm On Nov 15, 2015 |
Chumani: Instant “ramen” noodles are a massively popular staple – especially in the collegiate population. While genuine ramen noodles made from flour and without additives are not cause for serious concern, the cheap instant noodles are a total additive-fest. People who live on campus and find it hard to budget their money often end up surviving on instant noodles several days a week. In Asia, the popularity and convenience of instant noodles is even bigger; it’s a quick, cheap, and easy to way to ease your hunger – but how do instant noodles affect your health?
#1 Instant Noodles Are Extremely High In Sodium Instant noodles are extremely high in sodium – one packet containing 1875mg – more than the entire RDA of 1500mg. Sodium is one of the leading causes of both hypertension (high blood pressure) and kidney dysfunction. How? Sodium causes a build-up of fluid in the body, raising blood pressure which destroys the delicate vessels that supply the kidneys with blood. This is the reason why people with kidney problems are strongly advised to avoid preserved food items and too much salt in their diet.
#2 Instant Noodles Are Loaded With MSG MSG is a specific kind of sodium found in most preserved food items like instant noodles and canned food. MSG intake has been linked to an increased risk for cancer and hypersensitivity reactions like migraines, flushing, and chest pain. While the FDA has officially labeled MSG as generally safe, it remains a highly controversial ingredient. Because of these reports of hypersensitivity and a potential risk for cancer, they require all food items to list MSG as an ingredient if it was used in any way to make the product.
#3 Preservatives Affect Nutrition Absorption In The Body because instant noodles have extremely high levels of preservatives, they can also affect the way our bodies absorb nutrients. The stomach and intestines are where nutrition absorption takes place and are home to good bacteria that aids in digestion. Preservatives harm these good bacteria, lowering their numbers (and increasing the number of bad bacteria!) and affecting our bodies’ ability to absorb nutrients from food. This can cause problems like nutrient deficiency and long-term absorption problems.
#4 Instant Noodles Contain Antifreeze Yes, they really do. While instant noodles have your typical preservatives like MSG, they also have lesser known ingredients that will have you raising your eyebrow. Propylene glycol – a colorless liquid – is a popular antifreeze because of its ability to absorb water. It also happens to be used to preserve the texture of instant noodles as well, prolonging their shelf life. A 2004 study also linked propylene glycol in take with an increased risk for liver cancer.
#5 Instant Noodles Have Been Linked With Plasticizer Contamination Plasticizers are additives that increase the flexibility of non-food items. However, back in 2011 and 2012, Chinese instant noodles (including certain brains that are exported to th US) were found to be contaminated with toxic levels of plasticizers. When this substance is ingested, it damages the digestive tract and increases a person’s risk for gastrointestinal and hepatic cancer.
#6 Instant Noodles Often Contain A Cocktail Of Unhealthy Ingredients. Instant noodles and their packet sauces commonly contain canola oil, corn syrup and Tertiary Butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) – a highly controversial preservative that is also added to perfumes, lacquers, and biodiesel!
www.herbs-info.com/blog/why-instant-noodles-may-be-destroying-your-health/ / The high sodium content alone should be enough deterrent. Nice analysis! The best gift you can give to yourself and loved ones is taking them to a clinic for blood pressure check. High BP is a silent killer. It is very asymptomatic. I believe that a lot of unresolved deaths can be attributed to it and not the " uncle in the village" conspiracy theory. / |
