A girl who just graduated from one of the universities in Nigeria asked me to buy a "list watch" for her.

When she did not hear from me for some days, she asked "why do you weekend me like this?"

I simply gave up!

Health › Re: Why The Fear Of Caesarean Section By Nigerian Women? by InvertedHammer: 4:02pm On Dec 08, 2013

CS is a good option.
But there is something about invasive procedures and Nigerian doctors that should scare the living daylight
out of an expectant mother.

I just learned that Epidural is not even used in most cases of natural birth in Nigeria. I inquired more about
Vital Signs monitoring devices and the answers I got was frightening. In fact, supplemental oxygen administration
is non-existent.

I think it has to do with the people's lack of faith in the competency of doctors than ignorance especially when grapevine has it
that doctors do forget gauze, scissors, scalpels, etc. inside their patients. So most mothers will opt out of "operation" as
it is fondly called in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, I don't blame them too. Invasive procedure is very risky anywhere in the world.

I think the FG should standardize the PH/Onne Port first.

Lagos - Osha = 12+ hrs by trailers (considering bad road network)
Onne - East = 3hrs by trailers (considering bad road network)

TV/Movies › Re: Why Are Nollywood Movies Always So Delusional? by InvertedHammer: 3:26pm On Dec 08, 2013
/
Nollywood movies are motivational, predictable as well as fulfilling some people's fantasies.

Their goal is to make money first and entertain/educate later.

If you intend to know about real Nigeria through Nollywood then you may have to wait forever especially knowing

that some movies are produced within one week.

Naija girls do exercise.

Although I have some concerns...I took some girls out who exercise quiet often.

But truth be told...the way they were "downing" bottles of Big Stout made me to wonder...

Are the exercises worth the time wasted on them?

Frustration sets in above 30.

Depression comes above 35.

Yeah!

I bought shares of Transcorp and I am left holding an empty bag.

Stock market works until the bubble bursts...then the market proves to the so-called experts that

the only survivors are the ones that got out early enough and those with deeper pockets.

The stock market is like a house....takes years to build but weeks to destroy.

It pumps up investors' egos for years and then demolish the ego in months.

In USA, a lot of losers end up jumping off the Golden Gates bridge in San Francisco...Atta boy!

Or as is obtainable in Nigeria, your broker may end up dancing skelewu with your shares certificates.

Then you are screwed!

Everything is improvised and on auto-pilot.

Minister of Finance concerned with the salary of a football coach? Salaries in arrears? What are the duties and responsibilities of NFF staff if I may ask?

onila: I went to a psychologist and was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder undecided
the psychologist told me I need medication and ordered my school doctor to give me drugs

I took it for a while and stopped
when I realized I needed to go back on medication
my pharmacist said since I haven't taken the drugs for over 7 months undecided and she wnt be able to give me drugs because thats according to their law over here

that means I have to do another psychological evaluation again which takes over one month to complete angry
I have been so lazy to do the whole ish all over again undecided

Hopefully I will soon undecided

I know in Africa, you don't have access to all these things which makes it more difficult for you guys over there
but God is yr strength
Be careful going to your so-called Psychologists.

They will load you up on medications that have far worse side effects
than the depression/anxiety you are currently suffering. I have never seen anyone who recovered fully after they
started seeing a shrink. They will keep diagnosing you with everything in the textbooks and give you medications until
you "off" yourself.

When I get depressed, I pour down a bottle of beer and am good! Simple as that.
When symptoms persist, I up my medication (2 or more bottles) and it never fails.

Hipeeeeeeeey! Am so happy now. Just finished another bottle.

I guess your psychologist will say that I am an alcoholic and try to give me medications for that.
Can you imagine?
If the papers were drafted by a lawyer and both parties are signatory to it without being under duress, it is enforceable irrespective of what the judge says.
In marital quagmire in Nigeria:

There is judgment by the court...

There is judgment by in-laws...

There is judgment by Babalawo...

There is judgment by God...

Then, there is judgment by the "street".

So, prenuptial agreement works but depends on what jurisdiction gets to the case first

Romance › Re: I Think Life Is Unfair To Women & Guys Need To Be Realistic! by InvertedHammer: 3:11pm On Nov 19, 2013
ogugua88: My mother and I had this discussion just yesterday. I showed her a picture of a guy that was trying to get close to my sister and I. Her response? "Some guys don't date within their caliber." I was telling her, if I were a man, I'd evaluate myself inside and out and toast accordingly, for the girl I want should have no reason to reject me. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the guys who bash Naija women in this section are the lacking guys going for Kim Ks.

I've always wanted to open a thread for women to share their toasting experiences (but I haven't because I already know the result of such a thread). The kind of offers some of us get are ridiculous, and we're still made out to be witches. If I tell you I was asked out on a date by a homeless man at a train station, who would believe me? Yet it's true lol.

That's always been my motto anyway. If you want the best, then be the best and attract the best. A guy who is seriously trying to get a woman should give her no reason to say no. You don't have to be wealthy or even handsome. Just carry yourself well. If you're lacking in some areas, then make up for it elsewhere. You're not handsome? Then be compassionate. You don't have a job? Then put your skills to work and tell her your plans. No man or woman is without a flaw. Any man who puts his best foot forward can get the woman he desires. After all his attempts, if she says no, then the man isn't the problem.

Your post is a breath of fresh air, DN. Well done. smiley

I guess you don't understand the meaning of con-men and fraudsters.

They psyche you...feel what you are all about...then package themselves well.

Bingo! You got yourself Mr.Perfect until reality rears its ugly head.

I have never met anyone who is too intelligent to be conned.

Phones › Re: Share Your Phone Loss/theft Experiences Here!!! by InvertedHammer: 7:26pm On Nov 18, 2013
ajetunde: Google Nexus 4 had launched sometimes in November 2012, I preordered the sleek phone from US Playstore through a procurer (O & O Gadgets). The phone came sometimes Mid January (Shipping + purchase = 71,000 NGN) and I was just taking my time to move slowly from my yeye BB to this Android machine.....UNTIL

One unfaithful morning of Jan 2013.....

As the hustlers at CMS would have it, I had decided to leave home very early that morning (office is in VI), got to CMS and found out that there were no buses and you would have to fight your way into one. To cut the story short, my phone was moved from my pocket to an unknown destination while I was struggling to get into a bus. I still can't explain what I felt for the next 2 hours.

I got to the office and started Googling orisirishi grin grin grin, my hope lasted for about 3 days. I later swore to myself that I wouldn't buy a good phone until I bought a car.

IF CURSES WERE WISHES THAT WERE HORSES, THE GUY WHO TOOK IT WOULD BE DEAD BY NOW.

P.S Got the car 7 months after, still no new smartphone.....I'm still using my yeye BB

U get 71k phone when u still dey jump bus. Lol.

In every election, there will be a winner and a loser.

I suspected that APGA is going to win because of the tribal propaganda machine they unleashed on the mostly ill-informed masses.

But I would have loved to see a situation where APGA wins without all the unnecessary roforofo. The way they are going about

it is very shameful.
