/ Just out of curiosity....Could we trust Coscharis after all the recent revelations about his business practice per the BMW saga? I believe that he is a fraudulent businessman like Ifeanyi Ubah. Both of them are scammers in disguise. // |
// OP: You know you can always start your own company and do same day delivery Or better, few hours delivery. // |
// OP: You are an amateur. You picked all the candidates discussing issues on different platforms... But not so fast, you chose the one with Mr. Obiano (packaged with a laptop reminder) to compare to others who were making impromptu speech. I think you are just being mischievous. // |
/ Everyone has a price. Believe it or not. The Ibori/Ribadu saga happened b/c Ribadu was apprehensive that he was being set up....which of course, could had been the case. When dining with a devil, you need a long spoon. / |
/ White cars are not for Nigeria for obvious reasons. Unless the car is not going to be for daily use. Weekend cars? May be. / |
Bpriest: Africans should rise up and fight back/ No! Africans should fight their leaders and make them more accountable instead of going to other countries to harass their citizens. If everyone runs away from their problems, no where would be habitable. Assuming Africans run to Europe, Europeans run to USA, Americans run to Africa. It will be a revolving door situation. The difference here is that Europeans stay put to fight, Americans stay to fight. But not Africans. They want to run to enjoy other peoples' sweat. It will never be easy. / |
/ And someone had the nerve to come here and blame the West for our problems. // |
/ It is a very tough question to answer. In Nigeria, all the law enforcement officers improvise their duties. What I do is on approaching a checkpoint, I size up the officers. If they look like alcoholic troublemakers, I drop something and continue. If not, I will blow grammar tire. If I have nothing better to do, I chill with them. The Custom officers at 9th Mile Enugu gave me a bottle of malt and gala one time when they pulled me pulled me over and I refused to give them N2k on trumped up charges. I figured I was already close to Enugu all the way from Lagos, so no rush. It was around 3pm and I stayed with them till around 5pm. I was even willing to stay with them till they close for the day. But they just gave up and had to let me go. But if time is not on my side and I still have a long way to go...I will massage the their ego with flattery and pay a little. // |
HolyHolla: 'I killed my mother to make money'/ The bolded part summarized it all // |
/ Every profession depends on your approach to it. I thought I had it made but then, I make less money than I want but I make more money than I need. Now I have all these down time which could lead lead to boredom sometimes. If you can afford it, don't go into any profession for prestige or money. If you cannot afford it, you are better of getting rich or die trying // |
Dont go far.. Greenoak International School in GRA Port Harcourt charges a protion of their Tuition in British Pounds.. CBN cant say they are not aware of this because the schools name is clearly spelt on their Account and the bank accepts Pounds payment into this account everyday. And even the bank will not accept the naira equivalent of this amount from you.
Therein lies the problem. Not accepting naira in Nigeria? Well... |
/ Does it mean that Euro, Australian dollars, Pound Sterling, etc will be acceptable? If so, it defeats the whole purpose // |
/ Imo State has a lot of prominent people. They are rich. Only few wealthy ones among all those noise makers. Most of the prominent few have godfathers in Anambra State. Hope Uzodinma, C.I.Ilomuanya, Osita Izunaso, etc are boys to Arthur Ezeh. Infact Arthur Ezeh and Emeka Offor hold the key to Imo State government. Hope Uzodinma is also "boy" to IkukuOma (Sneco) Nicholas Ukachukwu. Most of the noisemakers from Imo State are some small boys that picked few million naira and move around in convoy, making noise all over the place. If you add Ifeanyi Uba + Arthur Ezeh + Coscharis + Ibeto + Gabros + Innoson + Emeka Offor, they are more than all the charlatans and noisemakers from Imo State. You know what they say...empty vessels make the most noise. Oliver De Coque got the best of those mugu. Most of them are barely hanging on now..Chief Dibia (Claudio and Alessio), Etiokwe Eriokwe, Chinasa Nwaneri, etc. are broke as joke. |
/ I was surprised that this guy is not as big in person as on TV / |
/ THE GUY MUST BE GAY. ABSOLUTELY REPREHENSIBLE!!! / |
/ Only a flash in the pan. $47 billion is nothing compared to what other countries have at stake. What is Chinese Remnibi pegged to? Floating in the open market? Nigeria is just jumping from one slave master to another. Remember that Nigeria policies are never thought out beyond any current regime....no continuity // |
/ NOBODY SHOULD PAY TITHE. GOD DOES NOT NEED MONEY but your pastors do. If you want to give some gifts to your pastor or the church, please do. But don't act like you are bribing God on the insistence of the // |
Phder: With the way some corp members responded on this thread, I can't but say "Most of our graduates remains illiterate" Can't you guys write properly for once in your entire life?/ @Phder: Saw you. Simple english you can not wrote. You want to correction we in English. Take your time. If not that I lespect you, I will had cald you an idiotu. / |
/ The agberos you complain about do not just wake up and start extorting money from motorists. They are employees of the government or government contractors or sub-contractors as the case may be. A lot of commercial bus drivers and their conductors are agberos too. Do you think a normal human being can cope with Lagos commuters on a daily basis? All the cursing, fighting, talking, shouting from 5am to 10pm can only be done by someone under the influence of ______(feel free to fill the blank) And you cannot get these drivers to pay up using conventional means...so the government uses arm-twisting by employing people in their own level of menace. // |
/ It is called innovation. Personally I don't think traditional marriage in the village is worth the risk anymore. A couple should bring their two families together, perform the rites and move on. There have been a lot of sad tales around traditional marriages in recent times. And Nollywood is not helping matters at all. You should also ask why people rarely travel to their villages anymore. Everything happens for a reason // |

/ Real estate and auto sections are very informative. However, NL reinforces everything I know about Nigeria and Nigerians..... more or less argumentative and politically gullible to a fault. Most importantly, NL is an epicenter of comic relief. / |
![]() OP: On the 13th that was a Sunday, and it was the day of the event. After the event we went to chill at a hotel in GrA Benin. alutacontinua: I couldn't finish the story!/ Remember..that's her own version of the story. Yeah, she was molested...and she is still protecting the guy's identity. Ok. The guy boinked her and refused to refund her airfare nor pay up...and she wants to turn it into molestation case. Good luck! All these runz girls. // |
lygn19: What re they graduating out of school for...How did you railroad this discussion unto patting yourself on the back for being the millionaire that you are? Self-made millionaire? How much are you worth that you think unemployment issue will be centered on whatever ragtag mom-and-pop shop you are running? By the way N1 million approx. $6000. The term "entrepreneur" is grossly abused in Nigeria. Government creates employment directly and indirectly. Indirectly by creating enabling environment for private businesses to flourish. All I see Nigeria government do most of the time is rain on her citizens' parades. |
CFCfan: But Brits here such as Piers Morgan, Georgie Thompson, Isha Sesay (Sierra Leonian that has an English accent), do very well in the US broadcast media.Easier said than done. You said Brits. OK. Until you meet a Nigerian using hammer and chisel to carve English, then you will know that accent pass accent. You have to know that in a place like California, there is some untold cold war among all races/nationalities. Whites vs. Blacks, Blacks vs. Africans, Phillipinos vs Chinese, Blacks vs. Hispanics, etc. It is endless strife that sometimes is carried over to the work place. In some places, all you need is one Indian manager and fellow Indians follow. Likewise the Chinese, Phillipinos, Japanese, etc. But Nigeria managers avoid other Nigerians like plagues for obvious reasons...bad belle things. Just as the person that may give you the most problems at work could be an "akata" who has vowed to deal with any African b/c of the way one of your folks might have treated her or her relations. Wahala no be small thing o. The only solace could be that when people are backstabbing you here, they do it with smile on their face. No food poisoning, no juju; just plain old "put sand sand for your garri". |
/ There are quiet a lot of Nigeria girls in Los Angeles area. But they tend to run away from Nigeria guys because of gossip. Once a Nigerian guy "beds" a girl they will wear it as bragging right for anyone who cares to listen. So no girl wants her name to be soiled---in case of future suitors ![]() And because of pressure from home, these Nigeria girls are busy chasing the dollar than taking care of themselves. The era of free buzz is over. Nothing is free here like Nigeria where a boyfriend could buy his girlfriend a car. So struggle continues. As a matter of fact, some of the Nigeria ladies out here travel to Nigeria to marry and bring their husbands over. I know quiet a few. And the saga continues.... It is not easy ooo! // |
Most importantly, try to steer away from jobs that involve public speaking. No matter how good you are, white folks are blessed with the gift for gab. No matter how qualified you may be, they will use your accent to overlook your qualifications. I am not saying that it is not doable, but the obstacle may be too much for your patience. Be ready to start from the bottom: fast food, security guard, nursing aide. And to answer the age long question(?), I have never met a Nigerian that washes corpses for a living |
ifyalways: Depends. A r3tardeed baby daddy is neither > nor < a divorced cretiin./ Call them whatever....you opened those legs to invite them into your life. Ladies choose irresponsible men and turn around to blame everyone else but themselves for their wrong choices. Ret@rded baby daddy? You chose a "retardeen" to procreate with? Tells a lot. Divorced cretin? Look in the mirror my dear! ![]() / |
0monnakoda: You are clearly young and don't know what you are talking about. Much of that debt is owed to American businesses and pension funds. That debt is traded on exchanges around the world anonymously and besides it is DOLLAR denominated so America has no reason to not pay, nothing to gain and everything to lose. What does "Paying" mean ? It means servicing the debt by paying the monthly interest and that is supposed to reflect credit worthiness. If it does not pay it cannot borrow and IT NEEDS TO BORROW>I will not argue with you. So you believe the debt is secured because it is traded on exchanges worldwide? They make the rules and know the leeways to break them. Everything that was thought impossible in financial engineering has happened in recent times. Do you remember what happened in Greece? How the government jacked some percentages of peoples deposits in the banks. Remember that when USA cooks some of the financial instruments they sell around the world, some of the principal actors do not even comprehend what they are selling. That was exactly what happened in 2008 about collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). Many countries bought into the hype and got nailed. The fact that it is traded in the exchanges is even the more reason to be cautious. Perhaps you have heard of risk aversion---Buy the rumour, sell the news. Even the best of the best usually get annihilated in this scenario. If your assertion is right.then why is China calling for de-Americanized world? They see the pattern developing and are taking preemptive and precautionary measures. America's solution to problems they created in the world is usually anchored on semantics. Mark my word---they are trying to wiggle out of the debts. Remember the issue here is increasing the debt limit and not even about honoring the "promissory notes". |
/ Billyonaire:It comes back to a famous quote that I stated sometime ago: "If you owe a bank $10,000, it is your headache; If you owe the bank $2 trillion, it is the bank's problem" The whole world is following Economic and Financial policies formulated by the West. For some reason, I believe that US is trying to wiggle out of their debt obligations. This is just a test run. This issue will be resolved soon. But in a subtle way, US is telling their creditors that "nothing is guaranteed". Remember that quiet a good number of American politicians are folks that climbed to the top by using bankruptcy laws to screw creditors until bankruptcy laws were changed. They are playing a familiar game on a higher scale. I feel sorry for China. They should have learned their lesson in 2008. Invariably, they will be left with empty bags. It is a matter of time. USA is not going to pay! They will find every reason in the book not to pay. I can say with some level of confidence that WAR may not be off the table. |
/ And some guy had the nerve to come on NL to blame the West for Nigeria's nonchalant attitude to life // |
