cap28: To make it out of the hood in today's America you need a lot of assistance from the white power structure because they control everything - the educational system, access to jobs, everything .Cap28: You are phony! I cannot follow your logic. You blame and excuse Nigeria at the same time in your epistle. You are a victim of your conspiracy theory. As you opined, we live in a world dominated and controlled by the White Supremacists. By your own assertion, Nigeria failed because of Caucasians. Are you serious or just being mischievous? I don't have much time to be arguing with you because our audience are people who live in Nigeria and know the exact level of frustrations therein. I cannot believe that the country you are trying so hard albeit vainly to defend is the same Nigeria a good number of NLers live in. Ok. Let me shove the truth down your throat. White Supremacists are not holding Nigeria down. Nigeria is her own problem. Why? White Supremacists are not the ones owing people salaries in arrears. They did not force your leaders (OBJ,IBB, Abacha, Ibori, etc) to embezzle funds entrusted in their cares. It was not a white Supremacist judge that cleared Ibori of all the criminal charges in Delta State. They did not force your government to negate on the agreement they reached with ASUU. They are are not responsible for bad roads, lack of electricity, no clean water and other vices obtainable in Nigeria. They are not the ones snatching ballot boxes. They do not force Immigration officials at the airport to continue to embarrass themselves by turning into lowly beggars. Did you see the pictures of Ikeja Police College? Is a white supremacist in charge of that place too? Last time I checked, toothless EFCC is not being run by a white supremacist. I guess in your world it is the white supremacists that are stoking the embers of tribal hatred on NL. Excuses! Excuses! Excuses! Take it from me. The leaders do not believe in Nigeria. I may live in USA but I have more contact in Nigeria than you. I was in a senator's house in Abuja last year in one of their so-called "meeting-before-meeting" (if you are in the know, you will know what this means), I was appalled by the level of deliberations these folks embarked on. It was more like a child's play. And I wondered if these are the exact same set of people we expect to deliver Nigeria from ending in abyss. Nothing discussed there showed any sign of people with some level of confidence in the so-called country. Unbelievable! I came out of there and my whole outlook about Nigeria changed. Aren't you surprised that the same problems Fela mentioned in his songs in the 1970s are still here with us thirty-something years later? Keep hoping! Apparently, you live in a lala land. People like you are the problem with Nigeria. You refuse to acknowledge reality and worse, you refuse to take full control and responsibility of your actions and/or inaction. In times of problems you blame satan and the white supremacists and call on Jesus to levitate down from heaven to come and solve your man-made problems. Perhaps, you forgot that God helps those who help themselves. You know your oppressors. They live in Banana Island, Asokoro, VI, and other choice areas in Nigeria. But being the cowards that you are, you are scared of taking on them head long rather you keep giving away the little you have to some pastors in anticipation of miracles to happen in your lives. IF Nigeria cannot find internal solutions to her problems; she is doomed. I attended ABU-Zaria. That was 2 years of my life down the drain which would be attributed to the incessant strikes by ASUU in those years. USA has offered more to me in few years than Nigeria ever did or will ever do if the current trend is the yardstick. I challenge you to take a walk to any Nigeria Embassy anywhere and see how much your country cares for your existence. Ignorance is bliss. |
disunriches: pls can anyone help me to usa.am really tired of dis place.ASUU and d rest.i think i need to leave dis country for now.i hope to get help from one of u guys.my email...disunriches@yahoo.com;+2348163394517...may god bless u allNow you are talking. Don't let people like ozo emeka talk you out of pursuing better life for yourself. Remember in life there are 2 categories of people: People who see a cup of water as half-empty and others that see it as half-full. Be optimistic. USA is the shiznit! Simple as that. With USA passport you don't need visa to most countries of the world. Try beating that. I was in Guangzhou last year. While most Nigerian business men were having their passports scrutinized by the hotel they intended to lodge in, I breezed in like a royalty with my USA passport without any delay. Other countries that matter respect USA. And you want to listen to ozo emeka? Laughs. Heck if any country wahala me, I will run to the nearest USA embassy and will be offered full protection. Try running to Nigeria Embassy anywhere. Two days ago, I flew back into Cali from Houston where I went to chill for a week to relieve stress. Last night I left Grand Havana in Beverly Hills, drove through 101 FRWY heading south and drove past downtown Los Angeles. Boy or boy. This is the place to be my brother. I get paid bi-weekly and have never had to deal with salary in arrears. Government in Nigeria sometimes owe more than 2 months salaries in arrears. How can one plan his/her life around that shenanigan? The funny thing is that no matter how busy things get in USA, I enjoy it. It beats being idle. I guess that explains why I get bored after 1 week in Nigeria. If you drive through Central District Abuja at night,it has that eerie feelings to it. No night life. NEPA does not help matter either. I chill at Transcorp most of the time and go to Cubana, Central Park or few other places in FCT to wind down. It gets old after few days. Now throw the fear of Boko in the midst, you have boredom waiting to happen. Lagos is a no go area. Too dirty and noisy. I pretty much stay in doors in that city because if you don't jam trouble, trouble will jam you. My brother, come "away" to broaden your horizon. After all na our people talk am say "waka waka na im sabi pass gray hair". The exposure is unquantifiable. |
/ A good number of Nigerians are vegetarians by default. After social status upgrades, they begin to include meat in their meals. Does this sound familiar: "Madam a beg give me one plate without" ? // |
I reserve my comments until I hear about 1 month of uninterrupted power supply. We have been hearing similar news from time immemorial. Isn't it appalling that we are still dealing with the same problems that Fela sang about in the 1970s |
chimkaire: Dare2think- He is intelligent/ Be careful what you wish for. Meeting me could be risky...you may fall in love // |
cap28: Are you aware of the fact that America's national debt currently stands at a staggering $17 trillion and rising? Dude, you have no idea. USA's debt is $17trillion? The important thing is who do they owe most of the money to? Mostly themselves through the Fed. There is a complex and complicated marriage between USA and the Fed. Reserve. You are forgetting another important thing about debt: If you owe the bank $10,000 it is your problem. But if you owe the bank $17 trillion, it is the bank's headache! If USA "threatens" to file for bankruptcy today, the global financial kingdom will collapse. 2008 meltdown will be kid's play. That's where we are. The whole word knows it. When USA sneezes, every other country catches cold. When push comes to shove, they will send out subtle war messages and everyone else buckles. Power pass power! |
Comparing Nigeria vs. USA is like comparing apples and oranges. If you want to do the comparative analysis, just use Nigeria and fellow sh#t hole countries in her level such as Syria, Zimbabwe, Lebanon, etc. Stop all these unwarranted delusions of grandeur. Nigeria is a 4th world country You can swallow the bitter pill or keep living in denial (which by the way is not a crime). So dream on! . // |
/ Well, if you stop treating their country like eldorado may be they will stop f@cking with you. For trial, let them make every Hausa person going to UK pay that amount. You and I know that aboki ain't going no where near UK. They are doing it because you people (Southerners) want to live anywhere but in Nigeria. And believe it or not, folks will pay up. You will be surprised that some people are enjoying it since visa to UK will be reserved not for every Tom, D1ck and Harry. Class thingz! Now when someone tells you that he/she just came back from UK...you will know that somehow, somewhere he/she has a minimum of 3000 GBP stashed and cooling. Flexing ain't got a thing on you. Good luck! / |
/ USA is so bad for Nigerians that if you go to US embassy in Nigeria you will never find a single soul waiting to get visa to USA Denial they say,is not a river in Africa. If Nigeria alone is as good as just Texas or California (each being a State in USA), then Nigeria is the shiznit. Even the much touted Abuja is like a city designed by a raging alcoholic. |
chiboy1928: Let not fool ourself even if u hold an america green card or citizenship u will still be reffered to as a second class citizen ur accent doesn't even qualify u to a be a first class citizen if u like speak ur english wit ur nose jst like hw most of u guys do over here dat still doesn't make them see u as part of them that discrimination still exist and will always be they dat jst the fact!Interesting! The same level of discrimination you will get if you go to Yobe State and speak Igbo. Have you even noticed the level of inter-tribal hatred on NL alone? Nigerians have hateful heart among themselves. You mentioned earlier that oyibo invest in Nigeria b/c they see the opportunities that we do not see. Big lie! Oyibo people thrive in Nigeria because you don't treat them like humans; you treat them like gods. An oyibo man with ordinary certificate would be considered for employment in Nigeria before a Nigerian with a Ph.D in the same field. Woe be tide the Nigerian applicant if his/her interviewers are from different tribe than him/her. But like someone said, "money does not buy happiness but he would rather be miserable in his mansion than otherwise" |
Afam4eva: As far as you don't go hungry after paying all the payables that you'll enjoy then it's ok. Nigerians won't mind paying as long as they have OK jobs and there are basic ameinities(Electricity, water, good roads, medicare etc).Afam: I beg to disagree. Nigerians are paying but not getting the services. They pay PHCN for darkness, they pay at toll gates for potholes, they pay tuitions for strikes, they pay N97 or more per liter of fuel for long lines at the pump, they pay water rate for dry taps; they pay MTN for poor services. Hilton hotel rates are cheaper in USA than in Nigeria. Go figure! Rents are paid in months in USA and not in years as obtainable in Nigeria. They pay sticker duties for emblems on their pick-ups. They pay the legislooters for non-performance. They pay GEJ for mediocrity. Nigerians pay pay pay. Yet no services rendered. Is that what you call life? I can understand though. Ignorance is bliss. Most Nigerians usually see suffering as obligation until they venture outside the country... then their demeanor changes. For the things that are taken for granted in most countries are luxury items in Nigeria. Common road, electricity, water (and we are close to the ocean) are talked about in Nigeria as if they revolve around rocket science. Even god damn deodorant is luxury in Nigeria. When some dudes/ladies raise their hands, the stench from the armpit can only make you shout "devil is a liar!" |
/ No matter how bad US is, you can never compare it to Nigeria. Hey for one, I can sleep better at night and go out anytime I want. No country inhabited by humans is perfect. But Nigeria is not even a place. Which is why I don't understand why Nigerians are religious...No Nigerian living in Nigeria should ever be threatened with hell fire...I don't think HELL with be worse than Nigeria. Life expectancy of 47? Odds are stacked against you in Nigeria....Govt, police, military, agbero, politicians, education, women, bribery, corruption, NEPA, road accident, air mishap, armed robbery, poison, uncle/aunt in the village, your peers, fraudsters, ASUU, doctors, NASU, mechanics, judges, no clean water, no "FRESH AIR", mosquitoes, rent, omo onile...etc. Jeeeeeeeeeeesus Christ! Every thing is a damn freaking problem of its own. |
OP: You are right on point. But as a Nigerian, the first survival strategy is to be on the look out for Yoruba people. They are most willing to help you out when you need it really. It is the simplest truth. Igbo people usually will like to know you when you are already made. Once you meet up with Yoruba folks, life will start to level up for you gradually. Yes! I am from Anambra State. |
Wu Zetian: Cry me a river, ugly-duckling!!You are funny sis! The men that have their faces fixed are busy bending over somewhere. Thanks but no thanks! |
Tuntheycr7: This thread is meant 4d ladies in da house.// Does it matter? I don't understand why girl go through all the making up BS. The best makeover tool an ugly girl should give a guy is 3 bottles of beer. After such binge, the little head takes over and every girl looks beautiful thereafter. Case closed. // |
Wu Zetian: Another wor-wor Nigerian manSo Beetlejuice is a Nigerian? Get your head checked my friend! |
/ Ladies: You have to understand that cute/handsome men are in short supply or unavailable b/c most of them are already in love with other men In conducive environment, they tend to come out. Most often than not, they stay on the down low. Beware! . // |
/ Any comic show beyond 30 mins is an over-kill. I would be pissed beyond pissed if I was in that flight. It is akin to those freaking medication peddlers or preachers that disturb passengers in luxurious buses. Thank God I was not in that flight..I would have told Basketmouth to shut the f@ck up / |
/ Coming from a country that cannot provide even a freaking steady electricity in this day and age. Yeah...I take them serious. Why black people cannot think straight still baffles me. Hey! Where is that aspiring philosopher in the house? You got your work cut out for you. Figure this one out! // |
geeez: A bunch of people that have no respect for femininity and the rule of lawGod punish you! Any female that demands respect must first of all respect herself. If you cannot do the time; don't do the crime They had been robbing with impunity in Aba even though they already know that such crime attracts lynching when caught. Well, they got caught and the rest is history....cry me a river! . |
/ OK. I will say it. I find it extremely difficult to feel sorry any time something bad happens to Nigeria politicians and their families. They have sent a lot of innocent citizens to their early graves. How many hours drive is it from Lagos to Akure? No! Our big man wanted to go home to eternity like an emperor Now he has gone in an incinerator // |
There is no reason to leave your job...exception being if you are ready for retirement or you have something better already locked in (not hopeful) You think your job is horrible? Talk to those in the unemployment lines. If your job sucks...that's the price you have to pay. If you want to party, go to the club. |
I still think it is a disservice to the civil servants to work their behinds off for paltry sum (if paid at all) when the legislooters collect billions (even though most of them don't attend sessions). How come we never hear that the legislooters are owed salaries in arrears? Even freaking Hippopotamus collects millions without any official responsibilities other than being the wife of GEJ. I think ASUU should take radical approach to this gargantuan profligacy. |
There is just something awkward about GEJ all the time |
/ I think the Senate needs to be trimmed down. FG must retrench workers and close some of the redundant parastatals. The funds saved should be expended on Agriculture, Education, Power and Technology as a matter of national emergency if Nigeria is ever going to survive. Enough of the profligacy!!! Nigerians: STOP PRAYING AND TAKE YOUR COUNTRY BACK! |
// I am surprised that Nigeria is the 8th instead of last. All the indices that make life worth living are not in existence in Nigeria. If you take a closer look at Nigeria, you will find out that the country is where most countries were in 18th century. Relying on praise-singers on NL defeats the whole purpose as most of these folks are ignorant teens...and for the most part have not even crossed any international border(s) before. So their ignorance could be partially excused. // |
/ XMAS GIFT IN ADVANCE to looters / |
/ I think Jim Iyke acted well even though the script was poorly written. And knowing Nigerians and their lackadaisical attitude to professionalism, I bet you there was no rehearsal. Somebody's got to do it. / |
/ Physical Fitness...Now doing political thuggery. https://www.elitefitness.com/images/ben-pakulski/IFBB-pro-bodybuilder-ben-pakulski.jpg // |
/ Memos were sent out to federal employees last month warning them of the impending shut down. The shut down wont last more than this week...it is all shakara. Most Americans live pay check to pay check....and everything is tied to one's job--mortgage, car loans, etc. As a matter of fact, savings are alien to most Americans. If this goes on more than 2 weeks, expect some pop off to happen / |
/ @ OP: You are the ultimate dude! I no get that kind liver. / |
/ Education is good. The problem is that Nigeria rarely rewards professionalism unless in areas like medicine, thuggery, etc. Eg. Pharmacists vs. Chemists (and luxurious bus/motor park peddlers) Architects vs. "ogbo mmanu" (I sabi all masons) Electrical engineers vs. electricians Mechanical engineers vs. mechanics Petroleum engineers vs. oil bunkerers and the list goes on. . There are lots of differences in these professions but an average Nigerian does not know and does not give a rats a#s // |
