Nah, can't happen here. At least not where I live. I'm the chairman of the compound so I'll get first hand information from the landlord if he even thinks of selling it.

You should be exempted.

But a new tariff isn't started on July 1, what's happening in July is the review of the tariff by NERC and the industry stakeholders. It will take a while maybe months for them to come to an agreement sef.
Since I'll be staying at my current apartment at least another one year and I'll buy electricity regardless, it makes sense to just buy it once and for all.

Any direction they decide to take is okay as long as they don't reduce the tariff cheesy

Can someone clarify this electricity tariff? If I buy enough to last me for one year before 1st of July, am I exempt from the increase?

Or the rate of consumption will increase regardless.

He didn't backtack anything and has always said that politics is different from governance.

Those who you say grilled him were mostly the same people who weren't happy when Atiku hired him. They felt it was undeserving considering he had just come from the APC.

Bwala is a brilliant guy. I sometimes wonder how he ended up with Atiku.

At least in my town, everyone is now the same. It is not so common seeing people drive cars above 2017 model.

Not necessarily because they can't afford it but how do you justify spending 15-25m on a car when the money can be used to do somethings as you put it.

As for the Elantra, 5.5-6.5m should do.

The customs 9yrs rule is that you cant import a car that's more the manufactured date is more than 9yrs, but if you want to import a car that is more than 9yrs old in production, you have to pay the same tariff as nearest one.

For example, now you can't import car that's manufactured below 2014, but if you want to import a car that's below 2014 model, you have to pay tariff of a 2014 model.
Exactly.

And the more luxurious the vehicle is, the more the ridiculous amount they ask you to pay.

You can't buy any decent Toks car below 5-6m now.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 10:21am On Jun 19, 2023
Meanwhile all cars now pay 2014 duty due to customs 9 year rule. 5 years from now when all cars start paying 2019 duty, I hope any of us will still be able to afford decent Tokunbo cars.

To put into perspective, the average Corolla used for bolt will cost 6-7m to buy all other things being equal.

Wike is a clown. The PDP is bigger than any single individual, the move to APC was the only logical thing for him after the level of betrayal and treachery he was involved in during the elections. Seyi Makinde should follow him out. PDP dropped the ball by not suspending the g5 clowns.
Lol, suspend 5 sitting governors cheesy

Maybe you think it's water that funds political parties

When you suspend them what now happens when the election is over and funds dry off. Where will the money to fund the party come from? In states where PDP is not in power, who do you think funds the party there?

Why do you think Labour Party only won one governorship election?

You think PDP is like APC that's in power and have the national cake to share?

Funny how you people think you know better than those who were most affected and yet could not suspend them

Maybe because PDP is a sinking ship. With the way things are, it will take a minimum of 16 years before PDP can return to power at the national level.

Itsrm I remember u mentioned obtaining UK healthcare Visa as a means of relocation in one of our discussions in the past .

So recently I got a call from a friend telling me he used me as a character reference for a job he applied and that I should be on the lookout for a mail that will contain the reference form . I was baffled cos I know him to work with the civil service and wondered why he would apply for a job instead of doing side business to augment his income .

Long story short , he told me he resigned from the civil service already and relocated to the UK since February . So he applied for the job in the UK.

So I called him that weekend and he lamented how things have not been the way assumed they would be . The care visa he got can only be used to work in the care sector legally . If u will work in other sectors it will certainly be illegal , so whoever employs u either to wash plate at restaurants , security guard at club or cashier at african store will do so with the intention of exploiting u since they know u can’t go complaining to the authorities when u are working outside what ur visa permits .

He said his problem started from the fact that Nigerians who own agencies there can bring as much as 15 people into the UK despite knowing they have only 5 COS approved by UK government . So 5 people get jobs in the care sector as promised while the outstanding 10 are on their own in a foreign country while trying to fend for themselves while hoping their agency will come through for them soonest . He said na naija dey do naija .

He’s been in since February and didn’t get a job placement till this June . Imagine trying to survive in an expensive city like London . Na me wey dey naija come still dey encourage person wey dey UK to be hopeful.
Unfortunately, Nigerians don't make any research before they jump on any trending thing.

Look at Chef Dammy. Hilda broke the Guiness world record, she decided to do the same without following laid down rules before she started. Didn't even bother to apply cheesy

There's nothing this your friend has experienced that would have surprised me if I was in his shoes. I won't even leave the country if I don't have enough money to last me at least one year where I'm going.

People travelling should have realistic expectations. Except you work in an industry where your skills are easily transferrable and you're extremely good with what you do, it will always be a difficult first two years.

I think those who weather the storm will be glad they did 10-15 years from now.

We know ipeazu ran that state rugged. The last stooge in a long line of terrible governors. I think he's right to voice out his complaints on this one. With time aided by the monies accrued from the subsidy removal as chrisblog said and maybe loans the pending payments might be resolved. If otti fails too then abians need to go ask God to give them their own personal Jesus.
Unless he does something extraordinary to improve the states IGR while ensuring the people don't turn their back on him, he will fail like the others before him.

The things he will want to do to increase IGR will be tagged anti people.

I was out of Lagos on Wednesday. My flight was to Enugu, finished my assignment and later took a ride to AWKA, then to Onitsha. Yesterday I was at asaba and today am in warri. I'll be in bayelsa tomorrow and back to warri on Monday to connect a flight to Lagos.. I notice alot of improvement on road infrastructure to be honest and I give it PMB administration. Even the bad roads I notice where mostly road under construction..Lagos somehow is overrated and there is no much federal presence in terms of road construction..I did not see a single pothole from asaba to warri...
By the way, this trip will give me nothing less than 500k as add-on, after all expenses, with all the 'igbadun' that usually comes with official trips like this...Some of you have been so tortured in the labour market that when you hear salary job, you think we all have to wait till 31st to get 100k! I think that is the reason for all the bad mouth I see here but we can understand...To the new cat, I beg you, if you're a graduate, get a CAREER....Be patience, CLIMB the ladder...Let me ask you, what do you think an Uber driver will be after 10 years of driving? Still an Uber driver right? I don't want that for you! If you're JOBLESS now, then maybe you should drive but don't sleep on it, don't let anyone tells you it's the BEST for you! I beg you!

I think the average life span of a great series before it starts derailing is 4-5. After that things usually go downhill.
Absolutely.

Season 6 of 24 especially was so horrible. I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't just wrap it up in season 5.

That is why breaking bad remains my GOAT. It peaked in the final season (season 5) and they ended it there.

You never watched 24? That started before all these ones you mentioned. The first 4-5 seasons were really good too until they also ran out of real creativity.
The final season of 24, season 9 was also great. I usually recommend the first 4 seasons and the final season.
