You are accusing my NLhottestbod of being on a limit but do you know that your posts suggests that you may be on a far dangerous tangent/limit for how can you keep going on and on about such perverted stuffs. I hope you have not been led astray wherever you are in Yankee. You are my friend and I am not trying to bring you down, just saying this in love. Please return home (keep stuffs natural and modest) if you are far from home. Don't allow your soul to be taken over in the world of the degenerated ones who misplace perversion for sophistication.
I ain't accusing you of anything just concerned about you dearie. Don't be mad at me okay Baby.

Ivynwa enters the thread, looks around---was about to holla to friend Fstranger but was stung by his recent nasty posts. She perused through the thread more and the acidity and nastiness of some other posts uprooted her from her seat and threw her through the roof of the thread-d-d-d-d-d-d. She landed in badagry expressway, shook the dirts off her jeans and ran to find some other thread to go catch some fun-n-n-n-n-n

Romance › Re: Almost Raped By A Catholic Priest by Ivynwa(f): 11:59pm On Nov 15, 2010
@Amy-girl
If this really happened, You owe it to your conscience to let the archdiocese covering whatever parish that priest is in now know about this so that he can be stopped. He must have been using this tactics on others and if you don't talk and tell the church more young girls will fall prey to him so help save such girls from him and even do him a greater favour of leaving the priesthood to go get himself a wife and quit burning and going astray and ruining the lives of innocent ones on top of it. Find a way to let them know, that anonymous letter advised by some for you to send on that can still achieve something.

I am getting sick and tired of some priests dragging the Catholic church to the mud. I honestly am and my greatest concern is the loosening of the morals and dousing the beautiful spirit with which we Nigerians and other people of the world cling to our religion and to God. I am not saying this to spite the catholics. I was born into a catholic home, has been a cathloic choir girl all my life (how I love those our Igbo choir songs, handel's messiah, Harcourt white's song etc)  and even now that I am more pentecostally inclined, I can still gladly walk into a catholic church and worship with them. I love the Catholic church so much that when my wedding day arrives, I will wish to have a thousand Catholic choristers singing down the heaven for me.
The only thing I am afraid of is that if this looseness among the priests continues, I may not have my good old catholic church to revisit again. Did anybody watch Oprah Winfrey's show today, it featured 200 men including Tyler Perry that were abused as young children. I never knew that young male children are vulnerable to r-a-pe by sick adults too at least in our part of the world. Among these 200 men featured by Oprah were 2 twin men that were abused by------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------narrated story that was here edited out by Ivynwa herself in respect to our sweet Catholic church and that none may read and get disheartened and lose their faith(one love people!)-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

Our church-heartedness in Nigeria is among my love for my country and is it not even better the catholic church open their eyes and awake to the reality that these priests are mere humans like us all and have sexual urge like everybody else. Is it not better to permit them to marry than to have them dragging the church through muds all over the world, even the Pope himself is beginning to be ashamed of all these. The order of priesthood with total abstinence should be left for only those who have decided in their mind that they want to dedicate their entire life, body and soul to the service of God, it is not for some.---------------------------------------------------------------------- What arrant Nonsense is that? Some are even there to make their mother and father happy when they get called Nne father, Nna Father, Nne sister and such take great pride in being called priests without understanding that it's one big sacrifice that shouldn't be played with. I really marvelled at the vanity of a lady I know in my village (who is now a Catholic sister) when she visited my family house at the village and was denge-ing and posing for me that she is a sister, in my mind I was like "this lady does not understand the magnitude of what she signed for if she is still that vain". I really don't think that a human being should be mandated by rules and regulations of a church to live such life of solitude unless they strictly chose to do that themselves.

Yes I do agree with Is-h-*-t4body sweetheart. It is no offence to take the picture of monuments, parks and public places as long as the owners permit that but every human being deserve to know when his/her picture is being taken. I will not like to have my picture taken by strangers and without my permission and knowledge, that is a violation of one's privacy.

@Is-h-*t4body
You do have a hot bod (how you work it baby e-e-eh, just referring to Usher's lyrics in one of his songs). What's your secret girlfriend? Check out those "abs-to-die-for" and you are so so pretty. Now don't tell me that a sweet lady like you said all that below----
Why will you go and take people's pictures without their permission? Some people are daft and silly. If I walk on the street and one silly goons points his or her phone at me to take my picture without asking me first, I will surely smash his or her head. Isint that common sense?
Shut up Obiagu
Dont be a foolish goon. We are talking of direct shooting. If i am directly taking pictures of someone, courtesy demands you ask them first. Isint that just simple plain common sense?
Dont talk like the idiots. Research and know the truth before coming here to talk rubbish.
In Britain, the law is clear- dont be a fool
Some people are just simply uneducated, daft and out right silly.
I guess the poster is out to discredit the Nigerian Police as usual, whereas it happens every other place. Grow up, travel, learn, research. It is not only when you are out of Nigeria that you become exposed and learned, you can be in America, Britain or Europe and still be as daft as possible.

Ifedisky:
Sad tale for such a young girl. Too many questions; if homicide was it accidental or premeditated? If the former why should a Law student do such in his own room?Who can vouch for this orphan's psychological health? Was she being coerced into stylized prostitution by the sister? Was she resentful of this state given that she's in a "good" relationship yet cannot stop because of a lack of benefactor and the sister's insistence?
The lil girl must have lived a traumatised life yet nobody was there to give her sop, not even her boyfriend, a classic case of suffering and smiling.
As dire as this case is, it is a microcosm of what happens in the larger society: young adult male defiling young impressionable girls because they cannot survive the "Aristo" culture in our society that gives "love" to the highest bidder; young girls being forced into prostitution by relatives whose moral stand is weakened by an unforgiving society that doesn't recognise nor encourage piety. Even our young men looking for the "perfect" girl yet oblivious or insensitive to how she survives her peculiar situ. Contributing nada to her upkeep and only after extracting sexual gratification for the "love" they think they give yet would be aggrieved if the girl falls for the slightest temptation.
Until the society is such that everybody is empowered economically and until our young people recognise that therez nothing like a perfect relationship and start attending to people on their individual situs things like this will continue. Such a sad waste.
Ifedisky are you a woman? How come you feel the ugly things some innocent young girls undergo in our society this much? I am touched that you placed it right my brother.
Some young girls are going through hell in in the hands of some adults in our society. I once saw once in the television how a certain Nigerian woman went to a village and confused some parents of some young girls to allow their young daughters come and work in her food eatery place only to bring them down to Lagos and force them into prostitution. Some of them that refused to be subdued were disvirgined with bottles by that wicked woman.
The evil that some of us do to the girl child in our society are are unimaginable, ranging from the people that use-them-and-dump-them to the ones that tell them lies and capitalize on their youth, innocence and yearning for love and deceive them into fake relationships, still ranging to some that take young girls out of the country and force them into all kinds of ugly things.
If she is not well guarded at the tender age, she can fall into the hands of those that have the heart to despoil a tender kid of 2 or 3 years.
She gets into her teenage age and if her parents are not advising, loving and caring for her well enough she might get deceived into teenage pregnancy. If she has the baby she gets ostracized by a society that considers her wild and men that considers her dirty and used whereas in some countries single mothers are well sought after.
If she was coolheaded enough and avoided deceivers and stood on keeping her chastity, she stands a chance of being overstepped by some men and suitors.
If she remains adamant and unmarried at her thirties, the society and sometimes even family and even her fellow women will begin to look down on her and mock her.
If she gets into her forties and fifties and did not marry nor have children, she gets called a witch and wicked and bad woman. This is the attitude some in our Nigerian society mete out to the girl child.

This poor girl is gone, I believe 90% that she unhappily killed herself but I am not perfect and may not be right. May the truth about it all be found so that they can give her closure as none of us can give her back life. Please may the society let up on helpless young ones, do young girls have to go through many ugly things while growing up just because they are young and helpless?

Travel › Re: Do You Regret Moving Abroad? by Ivynwa(f): 12:21am On Nov 15, 2010
Have you heard this? It took place in Lagos!
The Greens is a family blessed with 5 boys and 3 girls, they lived in No 13 Musa street Ajegunle Lagos. This family suffered one trauma after the other so much that AJ residents have been heard murmuring that the family needs to go in search of the root of the problems that were befalling them.
This family was indeed ravished by poverty, their father was stricken with cancer which left the mother as the sole breadwinner of the house, the matter was worsened by the fact that the little the mother of the house could amass was spent on chemotherapy. In August 1998, their father eventually passed away and five months after that their mother was killed by a hit-and-run driver on her way back from Oshodi-oke market. The Greene's 8 children were rendered orphans, could barely eke out a living and were living on hand-outs as they do not know any relative to go live it having lived all their lives in Lagos with their parents who hardly travelled home to their hometown in Akwa Ibom State much more take their kids along to meet their relatives.
On one black sunday morning, Musa street Ajegunle was flooded with water after a heavy downpour and the Green's rented one-room (in an old 5 rooms face-me-I-face-you building) was among the affected homes. Nobody bothered counting the losses of these children's meagre household property because the AJ neighbourhood was suddenly thrown into mourning by the death of the last two daughters who were drowned in the flood while they were sleeping on the floor in their room during the downpour. The AJ Community later came together, donated and buried these 2 children.
In Nov 1999 luck smiled on the Green's kids for the first time and through the connection of a good Samaritan, a rich Nigerian Newspaper mogul that resides in VGC lagos took in the eldest 3 Green kids as his own while the remaining three toiled, hustled and grew in AJ city. These wonderful kids have grown into adulthood today but what amazes me about them is that the trauma they all underwent did not bind them together instead it left them divided and in great enemity. The root of their enemity stemmed from the fact that the 3 children that grew up in Ajegunle were being snobbed by the other 3 that are presently in VGC where they had the opportunity to attend good schools with other kids from richer homes. They constantly refer to their less fortunate siblings as "Those retards and fools that live in that crazy Ajegunle place". Sorry but this story is dedicated to all ye snobbish children of the Greens in this thread (I tried sha)  grin grin cool grin cool grin

The fact that you had the opportunity to live in a better developed country than ours isn't enough reason for you to call your brothers "Retards" and "Fools" and even hate and talk down on your country. What should be on your mind is how to make the country you left behind better and the standard of living of your siblings therein more improved.
Those youths in that photograph above taking NDLEA exams are the ones I am referring to that can do with those small change you are using to spoil yourself silly to get comfortable and more comfortable. A little magnanimity from you can bring sunshine into their lives and set them on a path working hard instead of fooling away in front of computers dreaming of how to own your type of car and build your kind of house and in the process holding the whole nation at an ugly ransome before the whole world. Help give these youths HOPE!

I don't begrudge those who choose to stay abroad, or those who are trying to leave Nigeria. I just cannot abide self-loathing Africans. It is one thing to make your choice, but why put down your country? Too many posters here have a pathological hatred of all things Nigeria and use any excuse to highlight and ridicule where the country is struggling. You know who you are. For those shouting "Homicide/murder".
Why would a 23 year old Third year law student (that have the future in front of him and can't wait to graduate and become a lawyer) kill a 17-year old? What are the motives? I know people do stuffs out of rage but what kind of rage will propel a young man like that to kill a poor girl(on suspecting her infidelity) because she was sent to collect money from another by her sister.
Why kill her in his own room? Why didn't he and whoever he is being accused with try to dispose her body before getting caught.
It seems to me that she actually could not bear it when she heard that their relationship is over and as young, alone and immature as she was could not think deeper than get hysterical, depressed and unhappy and kill herself. I feel so much for her

That young man may be innocent after all. May God vindicate him if he is.

Axponline said-----Advice to all. Never compare your self to another. Be the best YOU that you can be wherever you are
@axponline
That advice of yours is loaded with wisdom, we should strive to be better wherever we are and not dwell in regrets.
The Chinese are examples of that and I admire them much for that, they are always striving. Each person have some little factory in their head that they are working into realities nowadays and the whole world is queuing up to patronize them. If Nigerians strive harder as we are doing now, I can envisage a time soon when a more comfortable life will be at our doorsteps.

For Nigerians that are making their homes abroad, one shouldn't regret but see about making the best of that situation. Regrets and that negative side of the spirit of competition is why many Nigerians abroad desperately do stuffs to make it at all cost because they unconsciously placed this pressure on themselves that they must be rich to impress on people at home and really show that they live abroad and that pressure is multiplied by three each time they hear of their mates getting successful back home. Such pressures, competitions and fears are needless, I believe in working hard but I don't need to make others my yardstick. That is not healthy for anybody's health.

@Oga Ikedonn
Nnaa, how about steering this your nice thread to a direction whereby people can bring in their opinions of ways Nigerians in the diaspora can help make life better for us all. Abi na when they finish singing this "It is well with our soul" here, you go dismiss church? Abeg preach to them on how to help make the souls of other hungry and poor Nigerian youths follow dey jolly jolly-o-o my brother. You know see as other young ones don dey enter the thread dey ask for ways to get their own paper waka. If everybody waka go, go dey cosy up comfy-comfy like new born babes in the white man's country (wey white man struggle build for himself and him children) who go build Nigeria and make it comfortable for our children's children? Abeg tell them when them dey eat make them dey follow remember us dey throway some come our side. I am suggesting that a unique, one of a kind skill acquisition institute will be nice. Young Nigerians can be enticed to it with a promise of some little financial support on graduation. That US$300 or $400 that some spend at the blink of an eye can help a youth start something.

Please look around your Nigerian neighbourhood and see a youth that needs to be encouraged financially and otherwise to be the best they can be.
Staying here in this post and waving at us all and singing us "It is well with my soul" will only make every young person that reads the thread to desire to run away too and when we all run out of Naija who go build our country for us. There are lots that you guys abroad can help straighten up and I am very concerned about that, let all begin to think of giving back even if it means  forming a "project group" here in Nairaland by some of you that are comfortable financially, say a project that can sow into the lives of young Nigerian men and get them off "scamming" and into international and local business, give them great skills that can make tommorrow better for them so that they can stop daydreaming of cutie cars and houses(which tempts them into scamming in the first place) each time some of you returns looking cutie cutie (and some even shamelessly do Inyanga for us and have some people falling down , worshipping them and making themselves their self appointed drivers overnight. What moved this beautiful girl to taking her life like that? Poor darling! Wish I can give her a hug but she went and died! Mtcheeeeeew------very saddening!

This and more are the reasons why we should be a more open and tolerating people rather than covering up and dying in silence. If she had spoken out and gotten comforted (and not laughed at and mocked like some Nairalanders have the heart to do in this forum) she would have been alive. Let us show more tolerance to people when they come out and open up their problems here rather than have some people laugh at them.
Just some months back-----  A very wealthy Nigerian Surgeon upped and committed suicide, he was stressed and having some problems he probably had no one to share with. Open a thread in Nairaland to say out your problem and some people that feel that they own Nairaland/ Nigeria, that they've got the world in their fat pocket and that the world is complete for them will come talking to you as they like.
May her poor soul rest in Peace! Amen.

Make una visit this "online-battle" field between Nigerians and Ghanaians. So hilarious

http://www.nigeriafilms.com/news/9490/20/so-short-a-letter-to-ghollywood.html
@ Decryptor
I read that link you gave us here and did not find it funny at all that Nigerians and Ghanaians are engaged in such name-calling battle. I didn't know that things have deteriorated that much and that is real unpretty.   I stand on the solid rock of peace and oneness of the African people. It hurts and hurts to remember the lives that have been destroyed in places like Rwanda( where brothers killed brothers because they are from another tribe that is considered mere cockroaches that should be wiped out) and the lives that are being wasted in our country(where brothers kill their own brothers because they do not believe alike) and the numerous inhumanity of man to man that take place in other African countries (I mean those  wars that make no sense).

In this age and time we shouldn't be embroiled in such war of words but should be more concerned with the healing and the emancipation of Africans as a people. We are one irrespective of the boundaries and names that separates us and assigns us under different government and nations. This pettiness in the entertainment industry should be deemed what it really is: "petty pettiness". Who ever initiated that move of levying fees in Ghana in the first place should be dealt with (for sowing seeds of discord) and the matter quickly straightened and died. Can't all African actors/actresses work together as they do in Hollywood for goodness sake?  Abeg Abeg we Africans have really shamed ourselves enough before the world and two African countries shouldn't be seen bickering in the internet like that like the fools we are not! Excuse me somebody!

And what with all these woods this and woods that-------must we copy and copy. Excuse me! Soon we may have Ijebu odewood and Onitshawood lol.

@Visrabraye
You are right, sometimes I allow my too-kind-heart run away with me. How in the whole world did they even wake up and fix some fees for Nigerian movie industry that nursed and hugged them into the Nigerian industry? Mtcheeew. Good they learnt their lesson: Nobody messes with Naijas!
I do like Ghanaians and that sweet way they speak English. Glad peace is returning to the industry sha.

How did the bible say it again?
"See how good it is for brothers to relate in harmony and unity----"
We should quit hating ourselves in Africa, we are one people. A ghanaian guy once did me one good turn and tried helping me get into a company he worked in, he did not succeed but it was sweet of him. Later on people ganged up on him in that company and he lost the job, went into business and thieves broke into his shop and stole his stuffs.
I recently returned his favour and put in words for him when my manager mentioned needing more hands, the man has been interviewed and by the grace of God will soon start working in the same place as myself. Let love reign! If we were both discriminating and not wanting any good for ourselves because this person is Nigerian and that person is Ghanaian, we will not help ourselves.

denony:
Oyibos are scared of us, because naija is very talented in every ramification.
naija man can use 5 minutes to destroy/tap what an oyibo man spent years to build/create
I agree that we are very talented and intelligent but how about us using it to improve our country and change the world like Oyibos themselves

DeLaRue:
No, they are not jealous/scared of us & no we are no more positively talented than most countries of similar size.
Our reputation goes b4 us am afraid. In professional circles in Europe, I find it embarrassing telling anyone I'm Nigerian. It's that bad.
You know what I was talking about----"the embarrasment and shame of it all"

adedayoone:
I am wondering why everytime Nigeria is potrayed (just the way it is) in foreign media, we always hala , when BBC showed the slum , when they showed Olu omo of oshodi , when they showed Mr Amos agreeing to collect $800k . Are these things lies , NOPE ! , Its just the way nigeria is , i know it is sad but we could stop deluding ourselves.
Do we need CSI to tell us what happens to a credit card when it gets into the hands of and average 9ja boy? Nobody should come here and act like Saint Goodluck ooo. ---------I've (I mean if we are so smart and there are 140million of us why cant we do something as simple as choosing the right leaders, or a least saying enough to those misleading us .)
Nigeria is what it is, either we work together to change it or we just dont, but lets not decieve ourselves
Thanks Ayo, we either work for a change or stand aloof and watch the world mock us and make a fool of us all. Right now the inbox I use for NL is filled with numerous 419 mails from able-bodied men that wake, sit on their computer and waste precious time collecting emails from NL to deceive people and get their money. I am even tired of replying them with a "F*kc off, quit being foolish and get something useful doing before I hand you in". The whites can't stoop to using their intelligence like that.
It's high time we bring in change and change can also come when we quit being tribalistic and elect a good leader that can see to the wellbeing of the masses. If our youths have good jobs and benefit from the wealth of the nation, they will rather get busy striving positively for survival and not shaming us all around the world. I am very passionate about a change!
Family › Re: My Wife Is A Lousy Cook by Ivynwa(f): 6:56pm On Nov 05, 2010
@Poster
One thing about cooking is that we all use different methods that we learnt from our different parents/wards and the end result may end up not appealing to another who is used to a different method of cooking so on that note you can't really say that your wife is a lousy cook. Save her that careless word, her way of cooking simply does not appeal to you. While growing up I have seen mothers/neighbours cooking stuffs in ways different from what I am used to and even if that does not appeal to me, I won't conclude that they are lousy cooks. On browsing through the food section here in Nl I noticed that some of us cook different stuffs differently that does not make some of those bad cooks. That is what they learnt and know which is why telling her MIL may not solve the matter as she may just be using her mama's method which is different from what you are used to.
Note that you don't ever tell a woman that she can't cook (just like you don't tell a woman that she is ugly) it will hit her dignity real bad. Be diplomatic and mildly tell her that there's a way to make so and so and you enjoy it better. You can tactfully persuade her to exchange recipes with your sister/mother (whose cooking you are used to).
It was nice of most of us advising that you send wify to catering school, that is good but wetin dey for sokoto dey here in Nairaland. A wealth of knowledge abounds here in Nairaland and we can equally tap into it, you can find a way to attract her to the food section where she can exchange recipes with people and get creative with food.
Food is an art just like designing cloth, you only have to use the abundant foodstuffs that nature gave us creatively and come out with great dishes. Don't be surprised that your wife can create something nobody has ever cooked that can blow your mind and taste buds away. You can send some great recipe links(like the ones I attached below)

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-25475.0.html
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-451442.0.html
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-539350.32.html

from Nairaland to her email and tactfully say "Sweetheart, I read these and I can't wait for us to try them out". I bet she will not refuse trying out what you like. We all can learn from ourselves just like she can learn from a catering school too. You can also attract her to websites with great recipes like the website of such companies like Kraft Foods (www.kraftrecipes.com), www.allrecipes.com etc. These are catering schools that are already right in your room and at the pressing of your keyboards. She can also attend catering schools and learn to cook local dishes, I am not against that.

You have to make amends and apologise for talking down on her food so that she can get her dignity back enough to co-operate for you two to go on a journey discovering great dishes. You can equally learn some while you are at it so that you can let her hang up her feets and give her a treat on days that she is too tired to give you one.
Food › Re: Oha Soup : My Favourite! by Ivynwa(f): 5:57pm On Nov 05, 2010
Akunta, your Oha/Ora soup is perfect dear but what happened to that super spice of Ora soup: the uziza(the leaves and the seeds). You forgot to include it. The mothers, grandmother, aunties taught me to add it to the soup and I went an extramile and experimented with spicing the meat for the soup with uziza too and that was superb.
Have you ever tried cooking your Ora soup with Palm nut broth/mmiri akwu (the palm nut sauce that results from cooked and washed palm nuts)? It is a lot better than using oil and dare to spice your meat with some ground uziza seed first and see if anybody eating that your soup won't be singing Uh-la-la-la.
All the same your recipe is right and intact and we both seem to have Oha as our favorite soup too and there are so many ways one can make some soups, we all just have our different method. I am going to open a thread inviting people to exchange recipes with me and I will invite you okay, it's a good way to learn from others and improve ones culinary abilities.

In other words try my Oha recipe= your oha recipe + Uziza + Meat stock spiced with Uziza(and other spices you use) + palm nut broth - Onions=An Oha soup with a great native taste

Tpiah sweetie,
    Let sleeping dogs lie Baby, let that matter be so we can get on with more important things. I am only wishing that God meet our brother at the point of his needs and change his heart for good.(Ivynwa shakes Tpiah's hands and leaves the thread)
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions? Comments? Complaints? Talk To The Moderators Here by Ivynwa(f): 3:19pm On Nov 03, 2010
Alright Tpiah Baby, hugs to you.
Nobody apologized to anybody and that is not really the important issue here, the main issue is for others not to jeopardize and harm others while making money. I myself I need money more than most people but I won't hurt a fly to have the money. I d' rather work and be handed some petty salary(which I can save and get creative with it doing one good business or the other) rather than hurt others. I don't hate anybody, not you, not even our Echidimme friend, he is just a brother to us all that have needs like us all and want to meet his needs. I will be glad to see him very wealthy and meeting his needs, providing for his siblings, taking care of his parents but not at the expense of others. We don't need to hurt ourselves to survive. We sure don't have to.

most people get banned when they set out to expose someone like that.
What am I apologising for sweetie? For throwing light on darkness that others may see?

toba:
@tpia, i think ivy had genuine intentions in trying to protect ladies from indirect pro.s.ti.tu.tio.n. Can u imagine having to sleep with 10 different women in every 6months or so? For $1,000,000? that's bad&at a cost of $325 dollars? What if gullible pple fall for this cheap scam?
Toba, you are just one of the few people that sees the truth, recognizes it and calls it by name. Others that are reading other meaning into it  and interpreting it into what they want to believe are simply too clogged up with stuffs to be able to allow the truth permeate their heart. Only God can heal that our land that we are all standing aloof and watching them destroy.
