CHoccolaTE: See another example of how women keep getting scammed with this marriage crap.
Men will never ever agree that they should be responsible for housework and childcare but ther selfish arrogant asses want women to be co-breadwinners and providers.
Op the lord is your strength. Ask yourself what he himself would do if you were the one sitting at home 24/7 not providing and not doing housework and then demanding that he should not employ house helps. Will he take it in patience and still show you love? Or better still ask him. Ask him if he enjoys seeing you get stressed and overworked because of his ego issues.
And the funny thing is that many men in marriages today are living like this because of the bad economy, they depend on their wives for financial support but will stubbornly refuse to help with house chores. Others seemed quite reasonable until I came across your incorrigible nonsense. It is true there's ego involved, but I'm yet to find a study that states it as a flaw of men alone. So your claim that women are some hapless victims in some "societal scheme" called marriage just sounds damn ignorant. Stop blaming society because of your misconceptions. There's nothing good in this life that comes without challenges. Here's a decent thoughtful woman seeking sound advice on what is but a bump in an otherwise happy journey , and you're here slanging your half-baked theories in her face. Don't you have a thread with other idiots(feminists) like you that you could visit? |

kristen12: They're adults and every adult have sex whether premarital or not.
Nigerians should stop pretending they don't have sex.
The only mistake they made was releasing the video because the girl was fully aware of the recording. The sex wasnt under duress, they obviously enjoyed it.
It happened in april and it wasn't in the school compound.
If the video didn't go viral, she would'nt have been expelled. She's not the only one having sex in babcock.
We really need to stop the pretence. Madam this isn't about pretense. I don't think the school authority are oblivious to sexual activity amongst its students. The fact that it was consensual isn't even a thing, like duh!? it obviously wasn't rape. But when 2 morons decide to have their sexual activity on record, then they open themselves to the consequences that come with it, except of course they are aspiring porn stars. To think that there should be non because of some misconstrued perception of "human rights" is simply absurd. No sane society would ever permit that. Even in the United States, the list is endless of people who had to resign from public positions, students who had to relocate to someplace else out of shame.Even though some weren't out rightly expelled, there was still severe backlash as a result. That's because such things are still seen as "underworldly", just like porn is. That's not what people do in the open Some institutions, though not religious, still adhere to a very strict etiquette. I don't see anything wrong with that. They're not unreasonable, neither are they unattenable. If you somehow fail to live up to them it's no one else's fault but yours. Let's stop with this weak attempts at social justice |

FrLukas: If you don't expect those that sit in the "hallowed" chambers of the nation's highest legislature to understand the average vocabulary employed by the gentleman prof, then I understand why Nigeria keeps churning out irredeemable characters as their leaders.
We expect so little from them.
There are no words in that letter that are so big as to warrant the use of a dictionary.
I'm not being a snob or a know-it-all.
The letter is easily understood, really. I didnt find it difficult to understand also, but I'd be a fool to exclude completely those who found his letter incomprehensible from being amongst the "intelligent group". English is but a language afterall. It's no rubber stamp for intellect. Alot of factors have a say in one's command of the English language other than a poor educational background. If we really went down into what constituted an educated fellow, we'd soon find ourselves threading into territories outside what is socially accepted. While I won't claim to know statiscally the ratio of uneducated to educated legislators, it is without a doubt that there exists a sizeable number of educated folk there. It's why I'm no longer so accommodating of the popular phrase " the uneducated control government" because it fails to answer a number of Important questions. One of which is, the distinction between education and morality. And another being that if knowledge were the proverbial weapon(power) of the "educated" man. How come that same power had somehow been hijacked by the uneducated, right from under our noses!? Then It does call to question, the merits of our perceived education. Let agree that it was due to negligence on our part. But if we did, then we can very well see that our education doesn't make us infallible to such a vice. Pls let's do away with this "messianic" interpretation of what an educated man should be. I can only conclude it's as a result of many years of seclusion from the throes of power. In our anger and disgust we've somehow labeled these corrupt leaders as something other than ourselves. But in truth, they're a proper reflection of us just as we'd see when we looked in the mirror. That this country would finally reap the dividends of democracy would not be down to how educated our leaders become, but by how many would have the willpower to put aside selfish interests, and wherewithal to do what's right. Go to our tertiary institutions and see the level of corruption there, are they not educated people? Brilliant men and women who can't resist the urge for illicit gain. Or is there a new definition of education that I'm not aware of? Honestly speaking no one would judge you by the amount of grammar you can juggle, but by the good you're able to accomplish. Beacuse at the end of the day, words are deceiving. I'd most likely prefer a leader that is coy on words and extravagant in putting good policies to use over some empty-barrel orator, beacuse many of the latter exist. |

You're wrong in your assertion.Sonyinka is a wordsmith by profession. So don't expect the average educated fellow to know every word he uses. However, it still is possible to understand them in the context in which they were used. Let's be honest with ourselves, there are much simpler ways of conveying his message that won't in anyway diminish his perceived standing. But it's "The Prof" afterall, he's just doing him |

There are times disagreements require both parties to "let things slide", and there are some that most certainly require verbal communication. If sex were the be-all and end-all of all squabbles, then I guess diplomacy would've been best handled by escorts. I applaud you for exercising self-control. Sit her ass down and you two should have a heart to heart discussion. Best of luck
PS - I don't know why many people have the view that a "normal" man would never turn down sex, like we should always be on stand-by, ready to pipe any girl at the slightest opportunity. That women are doing us a "great favor" by sleeping with us, that's bullsh*t!
Any wife who starves her husband of sex also starves herself, it takes two to tango. |

dominique: I think the aim of the organizers is to export and promote African music to the world. Yeah this fact can't be disputed but it also exposes some sorta failing on our part. They(Europeans and others) don't seem to go through much of a hassle exporting their culture over here because, admit it or not, the average educated African is very much fixated on it. I mean we spend alot more money consuming their culture than we do ours. But that's because they've built up a reputation of sophistication and expertise. Why can't we do the same? Why do we think we have to strive to gain their recognition? The only thing we'd achieve there is putting money into their economy. Money that would've been made here through tourism. For better or for worse there would always be wrong signals sent by such a move, one being that Africa ain't a place to be except you wanna stay in a Safari and see Wildlife. I know I'm being a bit one-sided but this is what I think should be the topmost priority of festival organizers. Let's establish ourselves first, and they'll come in droves. |

Logobenz1: So I live in a cool neighbourhood In a compound that has 4 apartments. Usually,I don't associate with no one in that building.I live my life minding my business most times. Usually indoors, play some music and have my guys at my house most times. So there is this lunatic that lives upstairs directly above me whose children makes all sort of noises that disturbs me and even at night too. I endured till I couldn't take it any longer and I decided to go meet him and calmly explained to him how uncomfortable his kids make my house for me. So he acted rudely that day and I decided to forget about it. Since then he has been hating on my ass and left his parking space and came to mine instead and always block me all the time I ignored and didn't complain since I have 2 cars,I just leave one outside and the other inside so when he blocks me,I just pick the one outside and move and I no longer have to go call him to come move for me to pass to avoid trouble. So today was state sanitation,I honestly had no idea like i don't most times and I was inside trying to make some breakfast and this lunatic came and started banging on my door. I went to the door, peeped and saw him and didn't bother opening. He left and after a while,my adjacent mature neighbour came and knocked politely, saw him and opened up the door. He greeted and was explaining to me that today is sanitation and everyone has to come and do some work outside and all,I was still trying to tell him how I wasn't informed prior to that when the lunatic came and started ranting saying all sorts of things like; Who do I think I am,that everyone here is tgis or that so he wonders what makes me think i am better bla bla bla and he even called me little shit I wanted to punch him so bad but I held myself and ignored, slammed the door at their faces and went back in. Then after a while, one offshore guy who lives upstairs came and talked to me unto guymen levels that I shouldn't let this cause issues and that I can just come along with him and we just show some presence and come back in. He is someone I respect a lot even though we don't relate so I changed into some work shorts and t-shirts and head out with him. On getting there, they had already shared work and the only one left was who was going to dig sand out of the gutters. From nowhere the lunatic came and handed me a shovel and was really excited to show me where to dig. I just smiled and took the shovel and ignored most of his body language and entered the drainage and started doing my thing. sometimes you've gotta show maturity to some people to make them know you are the bigger person. So I digged and poured a whole lot of sand from the drainage and freed it for water to flow easily. Dropped their shovel, smoked my cigarette and went back in to sleep a little. Then after like 4hrs I got a knock on my door from the offshore guy upstairs. Went to check and he told me some people are outside looking for me that they want to buy the dirt outside to fill one foundation like that and all. Went there after every negotiation, they concluded on paying me 13k for it and loaded it themselves I collected my dough, the offshore guy said eye weh see must chop and all so I handed him 3k and went in with 10k for my work lol N.a. so the guy dey look me like winch as I dey bounce dey go back inside my house with my dough lol. I kuku use the money go buy myself some beer come stock my fridge.no time for nonsense abeg. But I am putting a close eye on that fool and the day e go enter,I no go show any mercy since he wants to tempt me.smh for some people Nice write-up man... Arsenal chased away Wenger who could speak 15 different languages and hired a dumbo who manages to speak his native language only
They thought wenger's cluelessness was as a result of his inability to focus on one language which incidentally took them to awful Emery
Now Emery can't even speak any language correctly. Literally communicates with his players using sign language
Buhari must be an arsenal fan, they share alot in common
