PoliticsRe: Lagos Commences Power Generation From Organic Wastes by Jeezuzpick(m): 1:51pm On Jul 18, 2013
This is the way to go.

It is the future of humanity at large, and not Lagos or even Nigeria alone.

There is a lot of sense in making something useful outta what you otherwise woulda thown out, anyway.

I wish someone in power would take the initiative and get involved in the capture, purification and bottling of Biogas, for running vehicles and small, energy efficient machines designed for small scale production of, heck, semi-fininished good, even.

Something, anything to staunch the bleeding away of vast resources in the name of "waste" (a lot we call waste here ain't really waste!).

In all, this move is a step in the right direction.

Now, to intensify, if only!

dolphinife: If we look at the pix very well, the first person on the queue is the foreign affairs minister. If you want to blame anybody, we have to blame the minister of foreign affairs for not properly schooling the Jonathans on the gritty-nitty of foreign trips and etiquttes.

If this incident happened in either US or UK, the foreign affiars minister would have either resign or be fired for failing to impact the nitty-gritty of diplomatic ettiquettes to d presidency.

Be that as it may, I will never blame the first lady, rather, I will blame that ugly shoeless president. For any aeroplane in the world, d entrace cannot accommodate two persons at d same time. The attached staircase cannot accommodate two persons at the same time. Immediately the door was opened by the cabin crew, the president is suppose to come outside first and wave to the people on ground. If that happened, how come PEG shrug aside GEJ to one side and take the bold step of coming out first. This diplomatic embarrassment actually happened early last year and I hope such will never happen again.

But wait a minute, what's wrong with that PEG sef?
Abeg, Dolph, make I hia word dere!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Diamond Bank Sacks Over 100 Workers by Jeezuzpick(m): 7:11pm On Jul 10, 2013
yuzedo: You people need to chill abeg! Diamond Bank engages in regular recruitment especially of entry-level staff. Career progression is in pyramid shape, not everyone can/will reach the top. If an institution establishes redundancy in identified staff, don't they have the right to terminate appointment? A business is established TO MAKE PROFITS, this isn't the goddamn civil service abeg, lets be objective.

The only cause for alarm will be if their benefits weren't completely paid, otherwise management reserves the right and prerogative to hire and fire as it deems fit! (in line with best labor laws/practices of course).

P.s I hold no brief for Diamond Bank, just hate to see subjective gibberish being bandied because a muthafucka with an agenda has a laptop and internet connection. The Big Corporations aren't always the bad guys, sometimes slackers abound in the system, i'll be damned if some lazy-bottom negro with a sense of entitlement feeds off my hard-work. This ain' no socialist state, bruh!

Abu Mikey: As much as I am christian, but doing this to a couple because they did their marriage the way the want it so as to feel happy/satisfied is arrant
Rubbish!!!
My dear,

Nairaland contributed to the furoré that ensued after said wedding.

I thought we should be shouting "kudos" to the pastorate of DCLM for taking disciplinary action.

If you love to live the way Deeper Life people live, join them. If you don't, leave them alone.

I an not a member of said church, but I live by the Bible-proven tenets of my church, and I know better than to criticize other churches.

In my church (RCCG) If a bride comes inappropriately dressed (as per church rules) the wedding most probably will not hold. In fact, designated female ministers will check the wedding gown days ahead.

Like I said, if you like the ways of the church you're attending, love it 100% and leave other churches to God.

Only adults, parents who care what their kids watch and the effect it may have on the kids will reply to this thread.
FamilyRe: Is Ben 10 Cartoon Appropriate For Children? by Jeezuzpick(m): 5:10pm On Jun 29, 2013
My opinion,

Ben 10 is not ok for kids of any age, all I've seen of Ben 10 is it teaches kids they don't need their parents.

Just like the goofballs Ed, Edd n' Eddy, where there are no parents in sight, Ben10 kinda gets your kids to live in a world of their own, and trust me, you don't want a life in which your kids ignore or just tolerate you!

Couple the above with the violence, feed it to your kids and be ready to "host" a pack of sinister, individualistic teens who just tolerate you for your cash olny!

My opinion.
PoliticsRe: Brazil To Build New Satellite-Town In Abuja by Jeezuzpick(m): 8:47pm On Jun 05, 2013
CROWÉ: How it works is that those engineering graduates would come together and start up a company and approach the federal government to invest in them, help them start up and give them projects. Unless you can have solid information that there have been such groups seriously trying to do such a thing there really isn't a reason to criticize the government. Having a degree is not enough, they need an entire company with capital and equipment, something the government will probably need to help them acquire.
Oga@thetop,

Everything you've said is correct,
but the investment thing is the problem.

One man I know is one of the very few Substation Engineers below 65years old in this country. I have pestered him for years to float a company to vie for power projects.

All I can say is, after almost 8 years, he informed me just last month that he has got a FOREIGN PARTNER so he can be taken seriously.

How can a fresh graduate cope?

delvinmaya: Dude, thank God you mentioned ilorin, I graduated from university of ilorin. And in ilorin, you have two types of muslims, the fanatic and the moderate. Either way, I have not said I trust them, what I have said is the experience I had with them. All in all, I wish you got my drift. There are the conservatives and the fundamentalist. Each with his own opinion. However, you have to respect others opinion and stop throwing tantrums at the slightest provocations.
Guy, I understand you perfectly.
However you need to know one thing; Moslems are fiercely defensive of their religion, radical or otherwise. I have experienced this on many occasions.
I once told someone who said I am a christian by mistake because I was born of christian parents that you become a christian when you are born again according to Jesus in John 3:3. Next thing was insults and he began charging me.
Another almost attacked me because he said Allah has no son and I replied that Jehovah has one- Jesus.

Lol, not invade Nigeria, no, not at all!
However, ask yourself this:
Where in west Africa does NATO have a fully operational military base?
Where will they love to have one?
PoliticsRe: Femi Fani-kayode: The Woolwich Killing And The Illuminati by Jeezuzpick(m): 6:58pm On May 25, 2013
delvinmaya: @bingils, lemme point something out to you Sir, in Africa, there's a totally different meaning to tragedy. The African concept of tragedy is that one offends, but all suffer. The truth herein is this, muslims are people I relate with. I have arguments with, play, laugh, and the muslims I know put a shame to the way the religion is been portrayed by terrorists, but the actions of the extreme few over-shadows those of the good ones. Take Nigeria as a case study, before the issue of Boko Haram even came up, there was a view of muslims, as savages. Almost every other year, we all would wake up to hear about religious crisis, christians being killed for their beliefs. Then the boko boys came along to spice the party. You have to admit yourself, that right from time, your religion has not had good representation.
Makes you wonder if there were no radical christians and why they have not been fighting God's battle for him
Talk religion with your Moslem "friends" and see how fast they will turn on you!

I speak from experience. I once asked a Moslem guy if he'll kill me if Jihad is declared in our town (Ilorin). He didn't say yes, but he didn't say no either. I got the message loud and clear. That was an "average, university educated" guy, o.

They rely on stealth and the element of surprise.
