RIP, Poor guy, parents, siblings, loved ones, may God grant you the fortitude to bear the loss. Feeling REALLY grateful for Kanu right now.... |
ichidodo: The Holy Father is spot on. Stop persecuting Gays, Condemn the sin but not the sinner, Give the sinner a chance and he just might turn his life around, afterall you no holy pass my brother. So who are you to judge?Bishop Oyedepo?!I don't think a gay who will not change while being hounded will change once he is allowed to roam free. Those of us guys who pester and even harass girls in the name of "Toasting" will get to know how it feels to say no and still be ignored. Closet gay lecturers will fail "pretty boys'" and demand sex, 'cause it's no longer a taboo! after all, heteros are already doing it. You'll probably beat up a guy who hits on you, buh what if he's a local gangleader or campus cultist? We'll really feel our sisters' pain then, I assure you. Those guys ain't gonna change. |
andyallor: i agree with the pope. fact like it or not homosexualism is here to stay, and according to d black americans 'its the new black'. theres nofin we straight pple can do but pray 4 them (the homos) and being a homo doesnt make u less of a human. live and let live. shikenaY'know, at the risk of soundin' like some peeps carping "end time tingz" on NL, pls remember, God told us in the Bible that the end will be "like the days of Noah". What do those days as recorded have in common with the days we now live in? Sin had become acceptable, the "in" thing, and even worse, we who call ourselves good people or "straight" (meaning homos are bent or skewed) are so snug in our conceit that we don't realise we're just as bad!! What am I saying? To all who care to listen: sin no get grade!! From the occasional "fibber" to the gay to the serial killer, we're all on the same level. We all need help! So, Lady, pray for yourself, too!! |
judano: I guess Jesus also spoke in 'unstraight' words when he allowed the fornicator to escape from those that would have stoned her? I guess he also spoke in 'unstraight' words when he chose a tax collector as one of his disciples? It is very easy to miss the essence of religion, it is easy to forget that we are to love sinners and hate sin. What part of "go, and SIN NO MORE" don't you understand? |
ledafaze: Christianity is not loosing it... Vatican HAS lost it.Help me tell dem.... CATHOLICISM IS NOT CHRISTIANITY!! Jesus never said we should make graven images. Jesus only called God HOLY FATHER!! Now this unholy impostor has said you can do what God clearly hates and said so, and still seek Him??!! Well, I don't fully blame catholics. They don't read the bible for themselves, or do they? Do they know Peter (so-called "first pope" and supposed founder of a "celibate order of sodomites) was a faithful husband of one wife? or can a Revd Fr. have a mother-in-law? mmmmm? Read the scriptures fir yourself, catholic brothers and sisters. Jesus loves you! |
Leboska: Why?Come back home are THREE words. |
Leboska: One word come back home.I wish I could modify your post. Ask me why. |
One thing we all love as Nigerians: Super Eagles! Some of us won't admit it, though. |
You wouldn't willingly walk into a burning building, yet you will keep going to a country where they hate your guts!!! WHAT? ARE YOU NUTS?!!! |
Caretaker Chairman sef! |
Imagine a different setting, similar scene. American soldiers at an Iraqi checkpoint. Possibility of car-mounted IEDs. A lot of their buddies already dead from similar incidents. Soldiers: "Stop! Stop or we'll use lethal force! final warning! POP ! POP! POP!" End of story. |
supaeagles:In addition to what you. said, PHCN lines men NEVER work on a line without a scheduled outage (switching off of power) on that line. They do connive with Control Room operators to carry out unreported repair jobs and line their pockets with cash doled out by desperate citizens, though. In any case, a genuine PHCN official MUST be informed of re-energization on the line for safety. This makes me believe this guy was a quack. Sorry, I apologise to all sympathisers, but either he was a total ignoramus and died for it, or a desperado who couldn't care less for his life than the few measly Naira he would have gotten for this job. Well... he's dead now. Wish others of his ilk would learn. |
Jeezuzpick: Hey, no hard feelings. Sorry I was a bit piqued at being called Ignorant...As promised. So far I've seen a post by bjf (Basil Jide Fadipe) on a forum, doc2doc. He alluded to a possibility of genetic inbreeding as being responsible for the high prevalence of Hypertension on Dominican Island where he works. I see his reasoning as being correct in that certain gened may exhibit dominance over the generations, especially when there is little or no ingress of fresh genes into the community. The traits that predisposes occurrence hypertension hence may tend to occur with greater frequency and as a result, hypertension becomes prevalent. By way of a disclaimer, he stated that poor diagnostic practices and lifestyles of the people may taint observations even further. My findings so far. |
Texas.Cowgirl:Hey, no hard feelings. Sorry I was a bit piqued at being called Ignorant... Online is the worst place to wash ur dirty linen, though.... I guess we should thank God for NL monikers! I will do some research on Fadipe and his work. Promise. |
Pipsland78: I have just two things to say: 1) You confessed to knowing so little of genetics and, 2) You are an engineer. What does an engineer know about genetic research.Oh, yeah. The man of the minute!!! I take it you're a genetic engineer, now? Care to post some credible info about "Igbo dominant gene"? Y'know, clickable source links, all the works? Educate me!!! No insults yet from me. I except equal civility in this debate. |
Texas.Cowgirl:Hey, lady. A little clarity may save us some kilobytes. Did you read that guy typing in green's posts? He said Dr. Fadipe is an Igbo man because his mother is Igbo. Then he went on a rambling rant about Igbo gene being the "superior gene". I was reacting to him hence the bolded part of my post. Now. back to you. Has the theory of genetics changed since 1993? I say it hasn't changed. You say I'm Ignorant. PROVE IT or apologise! SMH.... |

Texas.Cowgirl:Tell me something I don't know. Is there any new theory of Genetics? Has Gregor Mendel been proven wrong? Is there a new theory that says Igbo parents (Mother or Father) always produce Igbo children? If you think I'm Ignorant, please PROVE IT or apologise. Respond. |
From the little I know of genetics, I've never heard of "superior gene". Dominant gene, maybe, and the dominant gene controls only physical features (eye colour, light or dark skin, etc.). It doesn't even determine the progeny's sex, to talk much less of tribe! I know at least 3 Igbo-Caucasians, John Onyuike, his brother Francis and Tony Isiguzo. ALL OF THEM ARE WHITE!!! I'm sure some peeps know these guys (great guys, all three), and know I'm not lying. They might even be on NL. I really tire for Mr. Pips~whatever. He's..... I don't even know what to say, except maybe ask him the level of his education and what he studied! Even then, I'm an Engineer, and I still remember O-Level Biology from 20 years ago! Haba!!! |
Pipsland78: His mother is Igbo, go do your research on him before posting here. And which of his parents was mentioned in the post? His FATHER. Abi Justin Fadipe na Ibo too? |
Pipsland78: Yet another Igbo brother doing us proud abroad. Hope those "ofenmanu" and "molas" are learning something here. And when did "Fadipe" become an Igbo name? Perhaps you mean "Igbo" (weed)? |
igbsam: A Girl Under Age 18 Cannot Be Issued A Voters Card Or Drivers License, Yet She Can Be Given Out As A Bride..........Crazy bunch of foolsShe can't vote....But can have her orifices poked and invaded by a gorrilla she couldn't vote for! !!! Signed! |
greatgod2012: ori e o ni daru......amin.My Broda, ur head dey dere! If na marriage be answer to all dese problem dem, hin for marry all girls wey dey for Gusau na! Abi na wetin hun dey gun for be dat, sef? |
Maxymilliano: Got this from the Facebook Page of Femi Fani-KayodeLol @ "slap the jinn out of your head". Reason or argue with one of "them" at your own risk! |
ebenezer4o2: Even before I finish reading d whole story,I knew things like food and shelter would be his major challenges, hence his refusal 2 go home. Why are such people not rehabilitated immediately after release? You are only partially correct. There is also NO HOME TO GO TO. There! |
slimyem: Poor soul. Seven years of his life wasted just like that. His plight should be understandable. He needs proper rehabilitation else he'll be back to prison in a little while from now.Possibly after doing some very real and irreparable damage to some harmless innocents! |
Maidoki14: Dats an interesting news.wish dis will spread all over d state.kudus to d youth!Careful what you wish for...you just might get it, y'know? Your, uhh "youths" might torch your car or your wife's shop, maybe 'cause the leaders they're beefing did not allow Gov's "largesse" to percolate to the grassroots! BTW, didn't I read somewhere that TB Joshua predicted sth like this? |
idnoble135: that statement is too broad. Definitely, there would be keepers who have saved shots that were better than Forlan's.Especially true when we remember what Vince did to Messi one-on-one in SA. However, is one error enough to drop him? I kinda love the guy. Really humble in the light of all he's done with Super Eagles. Is something else in play here! |
Zither: don't make a mountain out of a mole hill. If you should blame anybody then you should blame death.I normally don't let my imagination run off with me, buh what if the said man had passed out at MM2? The ambulance peeps may have had to rearrange his rigor mortis stiffened body before placing him on a stretcher! It was just time to go, I think. Bro, you're quite right. Imagine having a heart attack and help doesn't get there on time! Two minutes lost is like years as the brain is starved of oxygen... I had to read the post again for anger to ebb...Security system! same thing that would've (or may have) stopped our brother from being blown to bits by a suicide bomber, ended up doing him in! So sad... However, I'm not excusing the glitch, but any Nigerian blaming the system for this only need check where the other 4 fingers're pointing... |
pappilo: To be honest a €600,000 house cant be a mansion unless it is in some remote part of nowhere city in France. You will struggle to find a decent 2 bedroom flat for €600,000 in decent parts of Paris. Bear in mind a 5 bedroom house in Lekki 1 is roughly the same price as this so called mansion (N125 million)Well, like, duh? Don't we know? And is N125 emmm exactly chicken feed? |
Yoshi-Master:Why are we even asking about MW produced? Are we saying if the MW produced is less than, say, 500MW, then the said waste is better left on the streets? What ever happened to "killing two birds with the same stone"? |
