Romance › Re: Should Ladies Propose To Men? by JJYOU: 7:44pm On Jan 14, 2009 |
hotstuff06: My thoughts exactly, as for me nothing wrong in that, I actually asked my hubby out on a date first time we met. I was 22 and not desperate but I really like him. Did all my investigation about him and I knew in my heart he was the one so why waste my time, He was 27 then, I walked up to him and asked him to give me a min of his time, funny enough, he asked me to stop once we got outside and asked me out before I completed my sentence. We got married 2 year after. It been 10 yrs and 2 beautiful boys now since we met and I still confirm I was right to ahve made my move.
So ladies u see what u like, u go for it, why waste time feeling like u can't talk when u know what u want. thanks. where are the others to read this. it is not as bad as most of you think. many women would still be single if they didnt make the move. there is more of it going on and may many more come |

TV/Movies › Re: N'wood Vs Bollywood: Which Is Close To Hollywood In Technical N Creative Quality by JJYOU: 7:17pm On Jan 14, 2009 |
Sisi Jinx: Just to be clear, I think Nollywood is better.
I like how the stories never make sense and how the actors always seem to be acting off the cuff. . . it leaves room for creativity and boy do they get creative.
I like how they allow anyone to act, I imagine they just go to a market place and say "We dey do movie for yonder ooh, who wan act? Oya follow. . . wait, wait first you get your own shirt and trouser? Good! Good! Oya come na you go be lead actor"
I like the painstaking effort they put in their special effects, I suspect grinding chalk for white hair (for old age) and charcoal for the face (For scary face) is not an easy task. I saw Benjamin Button a few weeks ago and I almost died laughing at the shoddy work they did in aging and younging Brad Pitt. . . Honestly, what was that??!!!
I like how they don't bother to edit the mistakes, this fantastic effect ensures that the audience knows they are watching a movie. All that Movie transporting you to another world crapola is overrated jare.
I like how we can hear people in the background talking and yelling at one another. . . because it makes us know the characters we see on TV are real not cartoon even though their acting is cartoonish at best.
I like how the sound track is always blasting away despite the fact that the actors are talking. Because of this, I have learnt to spin the (volume) dial. . . I am this close to coming out with my own Remix Hit. Look out!!
In Short, I like Nollywood because it teaches. . . Yeah, It teaches how NOT to ever, ever, even if your life depends on it ever make movies.
Thank you Nollywood! More grease to your collective elbows. 2 day ago the mrs showed me one they casted a girl not barely 19 as a mum of of 2 teenagers. |

chaircover: Are we all missing something here.
Women have been indirectly proposing to men for centuries (according to Nollywood anyway)
What do you think she is doing when comes over to your house, cooks you a good meal, puts on her shortest nightie, lies down in bed and the moment you try to touch her she says you cant do that until you pay her brideprice!
What do you think she is doing when she directly or indirectly asks you what are you doing with her and what are your plans for her?
What do you think she is doing when she travels miles just to go and "greet" to your mum or other important powerful ladies in your family? (note I said ladies cos they are the ones who really have the power to give a Nay or Yea verdict on a girl their son/brother/cousin is currently dating.
In reality how many men get on one knee during afternoon tea at the Ritz & with an engagement ring hidden in the cream cake thank you |

Romance › Re: She Keeps Many Boyfriends And Insists They Are Platonic by JJYOU: 6:41pm On Jan 14, 2009 |
visitor30: @Topic, Its okay for her to keep such male friends.
But what i definitely don't agree with here is the fact that she takes those calls in private, to me no matter the kind of privacy one might have in life such things are not allowed in a relationship, we are talking about two people who are in a relationship here oh, not just mere casual friendship or hanging out or something like that people!!!
Why won't she be able to take those calls in front of the guy and she goes on to talk for hours as well? Common people, She is taking him for granted and not showing him respect at all.
Sincerely speaking, if i may ask the ladies in the house how many of you can take such from your man, if he tells you that he has nothing to do with such girls, just a platonic friendship
Please try talk with her and tell her how you feel about the whole thing. Communication can go a long way is solving a lot of issues in a relationship. how do you talk to smart people sir? how can someone take the fone and go talk secretly |

earTHMama: It's just dollar crises because the value pounds sterling did not increase in Nigeria. I think it's because we trade forex in US dollars and the fall in oil prices brought shortage of dollars into the Nigerian market. How will Nigeria survive when their 2008 budget was on $70/barrell while oil is selling way below that. That was a budget deficit and may be the beginning of our downfall. Obasanjo would've been better the third time. I miss him. funmi that man na disgrace. all his stitch ups were too much. with all the election rigging and stealing |

akunta:
Am sad for u, but u have to go on in life, i do belive tat she is not ur wife. Most Ladies act foolishly these days, how can she say she was confused? U guys dated for a year, that should be enugh reason to put the other guy who appeared from nowhere at his proper place. except she never loved u. and to think that most of us are still looking for that guy who wud have a sexless relationship with us till we get married. Well i know she is not ur wife, God will reward u with a woman made 4 u and u alone, unsoiled. so dont listen to guys who said u shudnt repeat such mistake again. all the best. bless you. well said |
Romance › Re: Can A Man And A Woman Be '' Just Friends''? by JJYOU: 4:12pm On Jan 14, 2009 |
Mad_Max: Yes! Initially you might be attracted to a few of them, especially if you've a lot in common and they've qualities you lack and really admire. But then the attraction passes and you settle down to just being friends. I tell ya, guys make the most amazing buddies once they lose sexual interest in you and simply like you. the best friend a man can have is female. that is if you can avoid the sex. family members are better and if you prefer work hard on making your other half your best friend. it is hard work and could make you vulnerable but if it works you got your back covered for life if it doesnt goodluck at least you tried |

bluespice: As the president elect, it is expected of him to atleast issue a statement. That said, wetin consign him with them? if he doesnt speak is he their leader? abeg, burning pictures of him just proves that though they may deny, they still depend on the actions of the same America they profess to hate i heard some prof some years ago said the arabs treated their black slaves worse than the white man when someone asked him why we were told the arab think the black man is lower than them. so i am not surprised. back to the question. obama has said there is only one sitting president so wetin concern the man. they are manufacturing their evil and are paying the price. shame |

@OP how would you love being dumped by text. that was calous and she probably doesnt deserve you. you said you are in your 20's. one of the lessons you learn as you get older is learning to be nice to people because you will always need some people far more than you know. life has a very cruel way of humbling people like you.
if you have the opportunity be nice and respectful to her. dont forget apart from your not being ready she was a freind and probably a good one at that.
this is one more reason i hate women giving their precious body away to people like you. you have conquered next one please |

bluespice: can u try to civil in ur words?
anyway to answer ur question, the same person that made it obvious that Nigeria doesnt have the money to foot the bill of having a national carrier scrap that, the nigerian aviation sector is not vibrant enough to attract the nigerian investors that are willing and bouant enough to invest in it. coupled with the issue of corruption that has eaten deep into the fabrics of the nigerian society. Bureaucracy, Nepotism, standard players in the Nigerian government. superboi: from my good knowledge of nigeria aviation what is happening at virgin nigeria basically boils down to poor business planning by the people that started the carrier, the lack of will of the investors(both local and international) to commit much funds and the fact they hope too much on government advantage. you can't blame obasanjo instead praise him for the reforms in the aviation sector because after virgin came in more people were willing to invest much more in the sector, like arik and the heavy reinvestment by aero, but ironocally that is what hurt virgin. virgin be wan make I'm papa fight I'm mate for am, they no serious truth no go finish for una mouth |
