asuustrike1: Those house chores are not difficult. It makes you stronger when many of these tasks are given. Do I support guys not doing those house chores you mentioned? No. But for women to have that mindset that house chores should be shared is a stupid assumption. Do I support men not assisting their wives? No. Infact a guy right from bachelorhood or teenager should perform those house chores. It makes them responsible. Our parents were the ones that sink that idea in us to think certain house chores are for boys and girls. This African mentality had made many to think that all men need in marriage is sex and food If you say those tasks are not difficult, then what other tasks are more difficult Especially for a guy who is not engaged in jobs like farming(the non mechanized types), bricklaying, mechanic, palm wine tapping Most guys who refuse to do house chores don't even have other physically demanding tasks they are involved with. They are simply lazy and egocentric! |

asuustrike1: They are not necessary lazy because those house chores are easy. Many men don't do house chores( depending on which) because when growing up their parents specify the kind of chores to do. Sweeping, cleaning, cooking are for ladies while fetching of firewood and water is for guys. Fetching of firewood and water, cleaning the house, clearing of grasses around the house etc are still house chores and they are not easy! Even cooking and sweeping are not easy tasks... This mindset of yours is the reason why many guys think it's normal to leave their houses unkempt. |

Its true no one owes anyone anything but i honestly dont think it applies here abeg. ZIMDRILL: do you know what is mob phsycology
this is when people act the same way becoz the next person is doing the same or people around you are acting the same
a 16s year old if feel ready becoz she has seen other 16s getting married but it mean she really ready no the is following the pattern
its us men who lust for young girls and we marry them very young
imagine marrying a 16 yr old legally she can even get into a night club nor can she vote and you say you got a wife ?
the only thing to her name is birth certificate and may be a national id
sometimes men we are an embrassment to each other
picture this equation there are more girls who marry very young average 17 and below than boys of the same age why ?
simple its greedy men to pray into inmature teens and make them wives
few cases you would find a 16 yr old boy marrying another 16 yr old girl, its always much older guys marrying 16 yr old girl why ? You are wrong bro! If getting married at such young age is so bad for the girl like you make it appear, no girl of today would be willing to marry that early. But as I'm talking to you many girls that age are getting married or planning to. Forget the mob psychology thing. Why don't such girls follow the mob of ladies campaigning against early marriage these days Because they simply want to get married! And like I said before, it is not always just about trying to escape poverty like you imply, women are naturally marriage oriented! It is people of this generation that are trying hard to redefine who a woman ought to be. So brother, let's not make it look like it is a taboo for a 37yrs old man to marry a 20yrs old lady. Provided the lady is not being forced against her will, they are good to go! |
Family › Re: Can It Work? 37 Years Old Guy Set To Marry A 20 Year Old? by Jman06(m): 4:34am On Nov 05, 2018 |
ZIMDRILL: 1 you saw things from outside not within the marriage itsself
2 remember i clearly said the husband needs to be patient too so what if those girls were lucky to have patient husbands
3 most girls who marry young to older men are excaping poverty at home so they will fight to make the marriage a successful one Of course even marriage to an older lady requires a lot of patience from the man. If I haven't seen situations where marriages between older ladies and men hit the rocks while those between younger ladies and much older men succeeded, perhaps I would have agreed with you that age gap is a major determinant of marital success. Your problem is that you make hasty generalization! In some parts of Nigeria, girls even in their 16s are very ready for marriage and would be very willing to get married and believe me, it is not always about trying to escape from poverty. |

ZIMDRILL: 20 and 37 doesnt work got my reasons let me explain
at 20 the girl hasnt really experienced much decision making of general things let alone running a home with a husband then new people aka the in-laws. the guy has 17 years of explosure to life experience and in this situation the guy has to lower his maturity/exposure to life on dealing with the girl, he must have patience so will the girls in-laws And how many girls of that age did you relate with to arrive at your conclusion I have many instances of girls even younger than 20 who got married to much older men and had successful marriages. |

Also, there'll be more clinical rotations where you would be exposed to a more robust clinical practice and pharmaceutical care. |

Ishilove: Yes, I am still enjoying my youth, and yes, my youthful 'Mr Paul' showed up a long time ago.
Sexism will take you nowhere. It is your kind of mindset that push women into wrong relationships because you have pegged her value to her marital status. People like you make single women feel like they are nothing without men and they must make marriage their greatest life's ambition. And how far the marriage to your "youthful" Mr Paul I guess it must be all rosy Point of correction, I'm not a sexist! The lady in the op is not being forced against her will to get married. But you and your cohorts assumed that because you were not mentally matured at younger age, every young lady out there isn't as well. Like I opined before, age does not necessarily determine chances of a lady having a successful marriage. I have countless case studies to back my assertion. Ishi, I can bet anything to the fact that those attitudes you considered immature when you were 22 are still there in you even at this age, while there are many 20years old ladies who don't display such behaviors since they got the right kind of training and orientation at their teens. |
Family › Re: Can It Work? 37 Years Old Guy Set To Marry A 20 Year Old? by Jman06(m): 6:07pm On Nov 04, 2018 |
Ishilove: Let me tell you a true life story- mine.
I was in 200 level, age 22 when I met this man, let's call him Paul.
Paul was very well educated, was running his PHD and was very comfortable when I met him. Paul was also 39 years old; 17 years my Senior.
22 year old me found his outpouring of affections very intriguing. I found his maturity very alluring while he found the prospect of being the first person to 'enter the place' a complete novelty. (I was still a virgin at that age).
Paul wooed me with vigour and alacrity because I was his spec- BBW, homely, studious and very Christian. All my favourite gospel songs are gifts from Paul.
When I told my mother about Paul and his intention to wife me, she smiled with great effort and went on her way without making any comment. As the relationship continued, her smile turned to a grimace. She was like "Ishi, let him go and look for his mate."
She never outrightly opposed my relationship with Paul but in time I began to find his world so...daunting and adult. While I giggled and jumped over his furniture, he would sit at his desk and look at me like a long suffering uncle.
He would tell me about the Oracle of Delphi and Euripedes, discuss world politics and religion, as well as the trends in international relations, while all the time all I wanted was just to gossip about Professor Ibidapo-Obe's antics.
It got to a point I began to find his maturity repelling. He had such big plans for us and our future, while I on my own part had other plans for my life that did not include marriage. I wanted to enjoy my youth while I still had it, but Paul, he had seen it all and was ready to start life with me. I wanted him to be young with me, not always so thoughtful and slow to react.
Meanwhile my mum was in her corner grimacing and giving me side eyes.
I was scared, and I fled from Paul. Mature, intelligent and oh, so stingy Paul...
Op, it may work for you but I speak from someone who has walked the walk so I can boldy talk the talk. She is too young for you.
QED.
Last I heard of Paul, he ended with a woman three years his Junior and they are living happily ever after. And you are still enjoying your "youth" and possibly waiting for a Mr Paul to show up now??! @topic, age is just a number and the fact that the lady is 20 does not necessarily mean she is not matured enough for marriage. I know many ladies in that age bracket who got married to men far older than them and they are doing well in their marriages. Likewise, I know some who got married in their 35s yet ain't having it cool in marriage. Op, don't let the opinion of people in this forum stop you from marrying your woman because people tend to react to issues like this with so much bias. Since the lady in question is willing to be married, pls go ahead and marry her if you have established that the two of you are compatible. |

BluntBoy: Atiku is a businessman. Tell me one big businessman who shows tribalism in his business? Tinubu does not show tribalism in his companies, Dangote does not show it. Otedola does not show it in his businesses, neither does Adenuga. Or have you ever applied to GLO or Dangote Groups and you saw where they said they only want Yoruba or Hausa? And is this enough to conclude that they are not tribalistic.
Don't be fooled. Atiku has nothing to offer. Atiku has so much good to offer Nigeria! For your info, some business men carry tribalism into their businesses. The advantage of having such people with entrepreneurial mind in government is that they would carry everybody along in governance. They'll know how to pull the right strings to boost the economy. They are not biased minded like Buhari who thinks that Nigeria starts and ends in Daura. Atiku is a man with a large heart!!! Add Peter Obi to the equation and you'll see a better Nigeria with a booming economy. |
