Unregulated drug markets also contribute greatly to proliferation of quack doctors because most of those fake doctors start with having patent medicine shops and then graduate to administering injections and carrying out D and C. Next, they obtain forged license and start parading themselves as medical doctors. We really need to thoroughly regulate healthcare in this country! |
Gadafii:We are not talking about drugs of abuse here but normal therapeutic drugs which are faked thereby either hindering therapy or even causing death or injuries to patients. Igbos are major culprits in sales of fake drugs in this country and that is why they are the people that oppose any policy of government directed towards sanitizing the nation's drug distribution system. Even the recent efforts of Kano state government to relocate the drug markets in Kano to a coordinated wholesale center was opposed mostly by Igbo traders. Thank goodness that Ganduje understood the danger posed by those unscrupulous drug dealers, hence he showed the political will that facilitated relocation of the sabon gari open drug market to a CWC where they can be effectively regulated. |
Thank God that Kano has even taken a giant stride towards sanitizing the drug distribution system with the establishment of the Coordinated Wholesale Center in the state (CWC), how about headbridge market and other open drug markets in the southeast Those are death zones where merchants of death operate freely The federal government introduced the national drug distribution guidelines (NDDG) as far back as the government of Olusegun Obasanjo, yet up till today, only Kano state has taken a concrete step towards actualizing the objectives of that policy. That was one of Ganduje's great achievements! Other state governments have either continued to take bribes from the beneficiaries of the chaotic open drug markets system or are ignorant of the dangers posed by such unregulated systems. I currently work in a hospital and I can tell you first hand that many Nigerians die on daily basis from fake drugs. Governments should know that any investments made in health without a functional drug distribution system is a colossal waste of tax payers money! Think about the developed societies, they understand the impacts of drugs on healthcare and that is why they strictly regulate drug distribution and use. Let's aggressively implement the noble ideas of the NDDGs and put this issue of fake drugs and poor heathcare system to rest! Kudos to Kano state government for blazing the trails in implementing the NDDG policy |
Another simp bites the dust! Men who refuse to learn from the experiences of others would continue to suffer in the hands of women. One yeye guy was arguing with me some moments ago how women are his responsibilities to take care of. Any man who thinks himself "responsible" for spending his hard earned money on a woman in the name of relationship or even marriage deserves to die in this manner. The most annoying part is that such mumuish men usually think they're the "real men" while others are losers. However, the reverse is actually the case. I only pity his loved ones |
DonroxyII:Nature never drafted anything! It's all human ideas!!! During the stone age when survival depended on physical strength, it'll be understandable if men take up women as their responsibilities. But now that mental strength is the source of survival and women have shown to be able to earn a living, it'll very f00lish of any man to see women as his responsibility. Everyone has got to cater for themselves and lovers should mutually care for each other. There are no organizations in Nigeria or anywhere in the world that pay female employees less than they pay their male counterparts. Most jobs these days also employ women and men equally, so it's not like men earn more than women. Why then should men have the responsibility of taking care of women Until such a time when we stop educating women and giving them equal employment opportunities with men, there's no basis for anyone to expect a man to take up the responsibility of being the sole provider for women in marriage or relationships. It is simply unrealistic! People who are in love and want to marry each other should simply work out how to shoulder the financial responsibilities equally or however they deem fit. There's a reason why properties are shared among couples during divorce. That is because it is expected that both worked together to acquire whatever material possessions they have. Properties won't be shared in that manner if the law sees the man as the one whose responsibility it is to provide. As for me personally, don't worry about me. I assure you that there'll never be a time when I'll come crying about my relationships with the opposite sex to you or to anyone else. I'm a professional working hard and smart to earn my money but my money is meant for me to solve my personal problems, invest, take care of my blood relatives and give out to charity when the need arises. It is not meant to take up the responsibility of providing for a woman. |
SenecaTheYonger:It doesn't! That's why you've not committed incest with the excuse of having high testosterone, or have you ![]() |
SenecaTheYonger:Stop capping rubbish!!! High testosterone doesn't cloud one's brains |
Jeon:Not always the case, my dear. |
Jeon:You may miss out some great guys if you don't learn how to get to know people beyond their social media posts. |
Jeon:May not be the case. I know this very well |
Jeon:Some of you take nairaland posts too serious sha. People are just here to kill boredom and their comments or posts may not necessarily reflect their personality. |
Sorry for your loss |
georgeakins:Don't mind Nigerians o. There's a reason why our politicians allow the various religious houses to operate freely in Nigeria without even paying taxes. It's because religion helps to keep Nigerians perpetually blind so they don't demand accountability from the politicians. They'll rather resort to prayers and hope of going to heaven than protest for our leaders to do their works of providing basic amenities for us. |
It's quite embarrassing that anytime news of this nature is published, there's 90% chance that the culprit is from my tribe! This is not how to be industrious! We really need to change the orientation of Igbo youths. This menace spells doom for our young ones. I'm ashamed! |
Girls and longthroat! Tufiaaaaaaaa!!! I hate girls that are easily enticed by material things! They are the ones who readily fall victims to playboys. Those materials are like a bait used to trap them |
Emmanuel30a:Sorry o. You go soon enter market |
Emmanuel30a:Tell your father mumu, and while doing that, ensure to check into the nearest psychiatric hospital. You need the attention of a psychiatrist as soon as possible. |
Kobojunkiee:Those making such argument clearly don't know what a good healthcare system looks like. Several years of poor access to quality healthcare have made some people get accustomed to the poor system. It'll take some education to get Nigerians accept any reforms aimed at revamping the system and changing the status quo. Example is the National health insurance scheme which many people are reluctant to key into |
Instead of holding our leaders by the balls until they fix our healthcare system such that Nigerians can readily access quality healthcare, we'll rather attribute deaths from accumulated negligence of our healths to village people and the devil. RIP to the dead |
naija4life247:That's not what the political class among them want to know. Why do you think Sanusi was dethroned for daring to criticize polygamy among poor northerners? |
If you think these northern politicians don't know what they're doing, then you're naive. This is just a strategy to keep the northern population rising while the WOKE south keeps declining in population. At the end of the day, the north maintains hold on political power while the south lives at their mercy. Who says northerners ain't smart?!! |
koladed40:No gender was meant to be the provider or the taker. It's just a human construct. Once the human psyche is conditioned in a particular way of seeing the world, it tends to adapt to that way of life over time. If you raise your daughters with the psyche of being independent and catering for themselves, they'll not grow up thinking that they're meant to depend on men. |
When God wants to punish a people, He diverts their minds to trivial things while they get consumed by major problems. I don't want to believe that God has completely given up on Nigeria. |
My only problem is with the male gender who reduce their own worth to mere sex. While women would demand silver and gold for the same sex they'll enjoy more than men, fullish men would mumuishly part with their money just for sex! Yet they'll claim to be the logical gender! Men must learn to demand for money from women too. Anything it'll take. Even if it is to resort to mazturbation as a way to reduce the urge for secx, they should do it. Men should also stop marrying poor girls but go for the rich and comfortable. What is sauce for 'Greece' should also be sauce for 'Uganda'. Thank you. |
seunmsg:But Enugu state governor recently appointed a Yoruba man as DG of ESBS and even has other Yorubas as SA |
worksmart:Stop making senseless comparison! If the director wants to join politics, he/she should resign first and then join politics so he/she may become president at 70. Civil service is different from political positions. |
Jossyfine:Side chick is different from wife |
Riscawendy:Why is it frustrating for a woman to win bread for her own family A family she'll eventually be the biggest beneficiary of??!Honestly, the way you ladies hammer on the man being the provider thing ehn, is suspicious! I find it hard to rationalize that notion in modern marriages. If it were in the stone age, I'll understand. If it's about taking care of the one I love and care about, It'll be a different ball game and I can go all out to care for her out of LOVE, but making it my responsibility I think is unrealistic given the prevailing economic realities where both men and women now have equal access to wealth. If this story was the reverse, I'm sure the man would be blamed for not opening a business for his wife after losing her job or not helping her get another job. Since op is working, what efforts has she made to help her better half back on his feet This is why many of us are seeing marriage as a very big scam against the menfolk. |
DoctorAyukebot:Thank you for throwing more light on the subject matter. |
Jossyfine:When you are making your fair share of contribution to the family's finances, then your man would have the time to take you out on dates. Not when he's the one working his butt off everyday to ensure there's money to keep the household running. |
Pharmaceutical Care is the practice in which the practioner-- a Pharmacist, takes responsibility for a patient's drug-related needs and is held accountable for this commitment. In the course of this practice, responsible drug therapy is provided for the purpose of achieving positive patients outcomes. It is the Pharmacist's contribution to the care of patients in order to optimize medicine use and improve health outcomes. In Nigeria, this practice had been hindered by physicians who are mostly at the helm of affairs in our hospitals. Many of these physicians do not really understand the concept, hence they feel insecure about it. Some of them actually understand that the concept is not in any way a threat to their medical practice, but because of their selfish interests, they oppose the idea. Some of this physicians in public hospitals connive with private drug suppliers to rip the government off the profits accruable from drugs in our public hospitals. As we all know, drugs are the cash cows of healthcare, hence instead of upgrading the public hospitals' pharmacies to perform optimally to the advantage of government and patients, these unscrupulous physicians are only concerned about how to milk the system, hence they take bribes from private suppliers and refer patients to them where patients are made to pay through their noses for drugs that can be purchased at a cheaper rate if the hospital pharmacies had such drugs. With the introduction of the pharmaceutical Care concept, the Pharmacists should now be responsible for ensuring that essential drugs are stocked in our hospital pharmacies and also ensure that patients benefit optimally from their medicines while goverments also gain maximum accruals from drugs. This concept is the reason why Pharm.D degree was introduced as the minimum qualifications for licensure to practice as a Pharmacist. Therefore, the new ministers of health have a duty to ensure that Nigerians benefit from this concept by promoting its implementation in our public hospitals. They have to allay the fears of Nigerian Pharmacists and other healthcare providers that physicians would use their powers to truncate growth of our healthcare system when they're given positions of leadership. If not ignorance, selfishness and outright witch-hunting, there's no genuine reasons for Nigerian physicians to constitute themselves as clogs in the wheels of progress of our healthcare system. The pharmaceutical Care concept does not in any way interfere with the responsibilities of the physicians but is meant to benefit health-seeking Nigerians. The ministers should know that we are watching keenly and would not hesitate to fight back using every legal means should they try to suffocate other healthcare professionals to the disadvantage of Nigerians. |
At least, we'll be getting enough supply of lithium we need for drugs making aside lithium batteries |
