He owes no one apologies! What he did in that event was right! Those chiefs should accord due respect to democratically elected governments. They're even lucky the governor hasn't started dealing with them the way many governors in the past have dealt with some traditional rulers. If he toes that path now, they'll start crying foul. Nonsense! |
Blendy77:TRASH |
When you have a complex set of people to deal with, the carrot and stick approach has to be employed. Having offered the apology and financial bonus to the workers, Umahi must also insist on enthroning discipline among the workers because that's the only way he can make headway in that ministry. Nigeria and Nigerians are suffering from psychological damages as a result of years endemic corruption. Now, everyone sees corruption as a norm. Like the saying goes, when evil is allowed to fester for long, it becomes a culture! Therefore, it takes sincerity on the part of the politicians, gradual reorientation and strict enthronement of discipline to bring about attitudinal change among Nigerians. |
Hmmmmm Nawa for Nigeria o The audacity with which people indulge in illegal activities in this country is mind boggling! People would just collude among themselves and in connivance with corrupt security agencies and start sabotaging the state's economic bases. The situation is even worse with petroleum mining! Such actions should be treasonable and I think it's time the goverment fought that menace with all the seriousness it deserves. Some people should be publicly scapegoated to serve as deterrent to others. |
Rokiat:Forget that thing. Sex can create a very strong bond between couples that'll make them inseparable if used properly. Partners who have strong sexual connection hardly part ways. Even when they part ways for any reasons, they always find a way back into each other's arms. #Fact |
I support the Minister fully on this one! Anything to bring sanity to the system is welcome by me. These same workers , I'm sure, frustrated Fashola and the previous ministers. Any minister who wants to make a difference must be ready to break the so called civil service rules and do things differently otherwise, the so called civil service rules would continue to frustrate efforts to get things working! Simply come to work early or resign! Nonsense! Kudos to Umahi! |
BloomingDale:This is how you people spread falsehood and some gullible ladies would believe you! The write up is actually the reverse! An average man believes that he exists to care for his woman and children. I know (using myself as example) that no man is happy seeing his woman unhappy! That is why we'll do everything possible to make our women happy |

And another Nigerian bites the dust from the activities of quack nurses! When would our goverment start taking fights against quackery serious in this country? These quacks operate freely because they easily get access to drugs which they administer without any thorough investigation of the patient. This is one reason we have been advocating for strict control of therapeutic drugs in Nigeria, such that drugs are used properly when it is necessary and upon prescription by qualified prescribers! That is how orthodox drugs are used. Strict regulation of therapeutic drugs would help curtail the activities of all the quacks that have been sending Nigerians to their early graves. That quack nurse must be seriously punished to serve as deterrent to others! RIP Mohbad. |
VikingKing:You're not smart if you couldn't detect that the girl only wanted to get money from op. I'm sure that if he had sent her the money she wouldn't have gone to see him. Kudos to op for being smart enough to dodge the scam. |
It's a cheering news at last! Congrats to Peter Mbah, hoping that he'll do things right in Enugu state. |
No need unblocking a blocked ex. Blocking her in the first place means I wanna close her own chapter and never come back to that again. |
That'll be a welcome development because it'll help expose untimely deaths in our hospitals due to doctors' negligence. It'll also provide grounds for Nigerians to seek legal redress in such cases of death due to medical negligence. |
ryloy:Nigerians have a culture of drug misuse and abuse, so those people going abroad pack all the drugs they're used to abusing. In the developed world, drugs are used RATIONALLY ie they are prescribed when they're considered necessary and are used with supervision of professionals. But here in Nigeria, anybody can just walk into roadside "chemists" and buy drugs without prescription. The consequence is that we create disease burdens by increasing RESISTANCE to antimicrobial drugs, worsen existing diseases via wrong drugs use and increasing death rate from diseases and from drugs. Many deaths in this country can be traced to either use of wrong drugs until the disease got complicated or adverse effects of some drugs. Most Nigerians are ignorant of the fact that drugs can cause deaths as much as they can treat disease and improve life. I know many cases of deaths that resulted from wrong use of drugs. Although our national drug policy incorporated RATIONAL drug use, goverment is finding it difficult to implement because most of the people in goverment are ignorant of the dangers of indiscriminate use of drugs. At a time the rest of the world is implementing policies on ANTIBIOTICS STEWARDSHIP to help curtail resistance of microorganisms to antibiotics and keep these antibiotics effective, Nigeria is busy creating microbial strains that are resistant to existing antibiotics, yet we don't invest in researches to keep developing new antibiotics. This is one of the reasons India and China now see Nigeria as a dumping ground for all whatnots in the name of drugs. When you hear that life expectancy in Nigeria is nosediving just know that indiscriminate use of drugs is a major contributing factor. God help Nigeria!!! |
Kudos to the best senator Edo south has ever produced. He'll be the best fit to succeed Obaseki as Edo governor come 2024. |
We know it's about the wife's satisfaction. Men are wired to derive joy from seeing their women happy. Imagine the joy men feel when they know that their wives are satisfied and happy be it sexually or otherwise. Sometimes I begin to reason that perhaps men were made to slave for women. Yet we claim it's a man's world! |
I want to state that Obasanjo is the only Nigerian leader I know who can command patriotism from my humble self and other well meaning Nigerians because he has proven severally that he is honest about building a united Nigerian state. He is not like the other politicians that only pay lip services to the quest for unification of Nigeria without acting in line with their words. Kudos to baba OBJ. I love him personally |
Baba Obasanjo was very correct as usual. It was wrong of the traditional rulers to disrespect the governor. If the governor is the vindictive type, he might try to deal with them for disrespecting him, and that time they'll start crying foul. |
My problem is that most of the guys who are always quick to mouth off how men are supposed to be the sole providers are usually the ones who turn their wives to cash cows who work their butt off to provide everything while deceptive men take all the glory. It's not about running around in public spaces pretending on how masculine you are, rather it is about working hard in reality to at least lift substantial parts of the family burdens off your wives. We've seen many cases of men who are providers only by mouth. |
Shifting blames to men as usual! Unless in the event of rape, sex is a consensual decision between two adults. It is mutually enjoyed by the man and the woman. Ladies don't just have sex with anyone that asks for it, they have sex mostly because they are attracted to the guy or because they're being paid for it, so both sides are benefiting. |
Samantha124:No, I'll stay in the kitchen and quench the heat, or I can even live in Europe and quench the heat from there. |
Samantha124:What if I choose to live my life in Africa to change that aspect of African culture? |
Samantha124:There are some aspects of African cultures that I don't find practicable in modern time and one of them is the idea of carrying a full grown adult that is not related to me by blood as my responsibility, especially when she can wake up one day, divorce me and follow another man. |
Samantha124:Modern African man |
Samantha124:No, I'm only changing with trends. |
Samantha124:I'm a global man. The world is a global village! |
Samantha124:It is NOT the duty of a modern man to provide for any wife within the context of modern marriages. |
Samantha124:And when we don't drill at all or drill you well you'll be complaining of not being sexually satisfied. What does that tell you? Of course, it means that ladies also enjoy the sex as much as guys do. So, why should a guy take up the responsibility of providing for you ![]() |
PureNigerDeltan:Like I said earlier, stop typing rubbish on what you know nothing about! Ignoramus claiming authority on what he doesn't know. |
You're very correct op. In this time and age, no smart guy would marry a lady from a poor background. Even if her family is poor, she must have worked herself out of that poverty gene before she can be considered for marriage. Guys should stop inheriting and spreading poverty genes from poverty-stricken ladies! A word is enough for the wise. |
I don't care what women want. They can all go to hell for all I care |
