My best friends are children below the age of 10. The innocence in them and the fact that I have the opportunity to help in moulding them into better adults for the society and the country are my driving force.

it is our full responsibility to feed and take care of them if only the pained single mothers amongst them would not brainwash them into acting equal with men
My responsibilityhuh That rule was made during the stone age when survival depended more on brawn than brain. It should not apply in the present age when people make wealth more with their brains than Physical strength and women are not deficient in brain.

The one who works and earns should cater for the family. This is me being realistic and not sugarcoating fact!

The man deserves more than that. He has been without job for 2 years and all he could do was to drink, smoke, destroy his wife stuff and even went as far as hitting her.

I am a man and i will keep saying it, we men can't take half of what we dish out to women.

These same men cannot try all these nonesense in developed countries. Naija na shithole truly. Too many things wrong about the country
What has the wife done to help him get a job or start a business since she's workinghuh! If the reverse was the case, I'm sure the man would have started some business for her, why couldn't she do same for her husband?? I thought that in marriage, two becomes one.

I don't support the man for resorting to violence but he was obviously frustrated and his "better half" couldn't help him stand on his feet again.

People like you always blame men in everything while absolving women of blames and it's bad!

That's how selfish Nigerian girls behave!!!

They always expect you to be the one doing everything in the relationship or marriage. No responsibilities on their own parts. Very boring set of people.

They don't know that guys too enjoy it when they make the sex moves! The only thing they contribute in relationships yet they can't handle a guy well sexually

I doubt you are okay. You woke by midnight to tell someone that you laugh when you see her "claim" to have a man. The level of bitterness and toxicity from a supposed logical gender. Now you are trying to be smart by half?

It is not even your first, second or fifth time to quote me with such bullcrap!!

Like I said, that trouble you claim to be, it would never depart from you and your household. You will keep laughing when you see me claim to have a man until you enter market and eat bread from refuse. Bunch of toxic creatures!! Full!!!
This one really pain am shocked cool cool shocked

If motherly care becomes absolutely necessary, then I can hire someone to play that role. But I have seen quite a number of people who were properly raised without their mothers.

I can't see women here ranting about how they can't do this and that for men. It is always your younger brothers being so angry and aggressive about it. If you want a date, I can take you for one. Na food you go chop, not human heart.

Anyway, my advice to ladies is to remain focused on the men that matter.

Redpill is good but too much of everything is bad. Just a little touch of romantic behavior and using your head is the best way to go about it.

Why men always struggle to follow the redpill is because it’s not in our nature to do so. I’m not against the redpill of a thing but I still believe we can be romantic as well. This money weh we wan make or we done make, we no go carry am go anywhere after life.

As long as you are spending on family and friends, there’s nothing wrong with spending on your gf. If you want her to reciprocate a fraction of how you spend, let her know you admire gift a lot. Or ask her for money. If you don’t like her behavior, move on to the next lady. Women yapa!

Don’t be a boring guy trying to force your way out of fun-filled natural phenomena by doing everything it takes to be rigid.
Nonsense! What benefits are there in going out with girls?

Only f00lish guys spend their hard-earned money on girls.

Go and ask elders in your hometown...people in the olden days offer themselves to some deity for protection or favor, some literally offer themselves up as personal servant for the deity.

As such, you don't meddle with properties of the gods...that was how it was then.

I don't think such still exist now
Perhaps such existed before. However, the term ''OSU'' or "OHU" or whatever is now used by conmen to describe those they want to take political and economic advantage of. It has nothing whatsoever to do with dedication or services to any deity. In my earlier post, I explained what obtained in my locality to buttress my point.

These evil old men and women are the reason why unemployment rate in this country keeps rising. Every year they change their dates of birth and do all whatnots to remain in the civil service. When then would the youths get a chance at being employed?

After stealing from the government for so many years, they'll still not want to retire. Federal goverment should use force and throw all of them out of the civil service.

My brother we share same notion.
Humans are just being unnecessarily greedy. Dey don't want subsequent settlers to have a say in d community or b a traditional title holder, dats d sole reason dey perpetually ostracize them(calling dem OSU). And people now begin to think the name is OSU has to do with maybe d devil himself.

Initially dey say if u marry them, it causes backwardness, childlessness, etc but dats a big lie. People who broke d lines saw no such thing.

I had a relative argument with some kinsmen d other time...
We were given a ram(ebunu) by one of our brother who is regarded as ezemmuo. So, d day we cooked it, there was this irritating man da saying dat external person doesn't eat d meat. Some of us esp d youth questioned why so, but dey couldn't give us any tangible reason. I told dem da greed/selfishness is the problem of a black man. Being too stingy to give to ur brother, u termed it a norm, dat it shouldn't b given out...so u have enough to eat. Nonsense!

That's their business... I love and roll with whoever am pleased wit.
Exactly!

Likewise me. I don't discriminate against fellow humans based on some hogwash tales. I relate with the humanity in every person

I think your description is very, very off point. OSU, to the best of my knowledge, were offenders who were found guilty of great abominations and cast away so as to avoid the anger of the earth Deity and to prevent the spread of abomination among the citizens of the state. @azraeljaheel

You don't know what you're saying despite filling up space. That's how some students write and ask for extras paper expecting to make A only to get F.

Better go and beg an elder in your village to explain it for your understanding.
I explained it the way it relates to my locality and I believe that same reasons contribute largely if not the sole driving force for the practice in other Igbo states. It is just about some people trying to take political advantage of others! Greediness and selfishness of humans!

Not just migration thing, they might have been other unwanted practices causing disharmony like betrayals, incest, religious beliefs, and offcourse the so-called slaves/royal descendants bullshit thing. Its just suprising how such tales by moonlight are carried on generation after generation till the 21st century despite education.
Well, in the locality I'm familiar with, it's more about migration and local politics.

Some people who still hold on to the practice are political opportunists who think that the practice would confer some kind of political advantage on them. But with modernity, many people are becoming wiser and politics in democratic settings does not really go by such practices because nothing is black or white in politics.

Well, judging from studies conducted globally by different researchers, that is not true. The best environment to raise children is in a two-parent household consisting of a father (man) and a mother (woman). If you believe otherwise, conduct your scientific/social science study and publish the results in a peer-reviewed journal.

P.S. In most developed societies where government interventions and subsidies exist, most poor people are those from single-parent homes. Then imagine the same in poor countries? Multidimensional poverty loading.... shocked shocked
If it's just about the fear of poverty, then I don't have anything to worry about because I can comfortably take care of my kid(s). I don't plan to birth more than two

Lies..... Even though I'm not Igbo, I know OSU is deeper than that
Different parts of Igboland have their different interpretation of what their own "osu" or whatever entails. What I described is what basically applies to Enugu.

I think those who think they can take advantage of that practice politically are the ones roping everyone as "OSU". They forget that politics doesn't work that way in a democracy as there's no permanent enemy nor friend in politics but permanent interests, and that if the interests align, people will play politics together regardless of the caste system.

Having children within a two-parent household is the major benefit. Another benefit could be or is companionship.

P.S. Raising children within a two-parent household is the best environment for having properly raised children as adjudged by studies globally.
Those are not tangible reasons. I believe that children can be properly raised by one parent provided that resources are there.
Also, most men don't find ideal companionship in women! Any honest married man would tell you that he doesn't even have time to start doing companionship with his wife when he's busy working his butt off to pay bills.

Men get the best companionships in beer parlours with fellow men or in different social clubs or fraternities to which they belong.

Before I write anything ... Can anyone help me with the meaning of OSU
From my understanding, OSU or OHU or whatever is just a term coined by conmen of yesteryears to take advantage of their fellow humans whose only crime was that they migrated to a land later than others.

The practice is a clear reflection of how selfish and inhuman the black men of those days were.
In those days, people were migrating from one area to another until they found a liveable land to occupy. Once they settled on a land, any other person coming after them is termed an "OSU". Imagine a situation where aboriginal Americans describe immigrants as outcasts!

In some places, especially in Enugu state, the situation is even such that kinsmen who migrated from one place to another also segregated their kinsmen coming behind them and describe them as OSU or Ohu or whatever that is why they bear the same surname. That is why if you trace the origin of some people who are seen as OHUs in one village, you'll discover that same people belong to the so called AMADUs in another village. It is just the greediness and selfishness of humans at play, it has nothing to do with worship of any gods like some people claim.

I'm sure all of them are medical doctors!

Our politicians obviously don't want our heathcare system to work. That is why they keep repeating this error of appointing medical doctors into headship of our health facilities despite their poor administrative acumen.

Over the years, medical doctors under the auspices of NMA have ran our public health facilities like their private estates, subjecting other healthcare professionals to all manner of inhumane treatments. Yet, our healthcare institutions continue to nosedive with resultant low life expectancy in the country, ranking lower than even Ghana!

They always blame poor funding for the abysmally poor performance of our health institutions, forgetting the main issue which is POOR ADMINISTRATION. You can't have a functional and holistic healthcare system under the atmosphere of rancor between physicians and other non-physician healthcare professionals.

Patients can't get justice when they sue erring physicians for any damages caused by such physicians when you have one of them at the helm of affairs and when NMA keeps having overbearing influence on the running of our public health institutions. Yet, our unthinking politicians are not seeing all these impediments.

Until our leaders reorganize the leadership architecture of our health institutions such that seasoned administrators are appointed to headship of these institutions, we'll continue to have underperforming health institutions.
