More often than not, I have seen great topics come up on the Romance section, but then again, the replies and advise given to the poster make me cringe to my bone marrow. It is also saddening that some great dilemma presented on this platform do not make it to the front page.

We need 2 new moderators who are passionate about Romance and Nairaland, and can dedicate sufficient time to remove inappropriate content, ban people who break the rules, and create threads on hot topics to ensure that the Romance section attracts more engagement.

Most importantly, the war between men and women on this section must end. Women need to feel safe to participate and share their views in this section without being harassed by men. And vice versa. This requires consistent and unyielding enforcement of the rules every day.

I want to assume you and your wife dated and courted before marriage. During these phases, did you take her advise? If yes, you have no case.

You cannot stop an act abruptly and expect the actee not to react. Come to think of it, if you expect your wife to take you advise and orders, why can't you take some of hers?

I feel like you do not communicate effectively with her, as such, she has become paranoid. Please fix your home. Communicate explicitly also. For instance, saying I can't do crossover prayers with your family is quite debasing and am emotional woman might pick offense.

I suffer severe menstrual cramps and it's really taking a tow on me. Like I no longer look forward to having my menses because of the pain and discomfort that comes with it.

The only thing that stops the cramps is felvin but it makes the flow three times heavier than normal to the point that I'll start feeling dizzy. The last one scared me cos after taking felvin, on the second day I was changing diaper every 5 mins. (Yes I use diaper cos pad no longer holds my flow. ) At a point I stood up and it's as if the whole blood in my system gushed out and I nearly passed out. So I said I wasn't going to use felvin again.

Now, I didn't use felvin this time and the flow is normal but I've been crying from pain since yesterday. It's like labor pain and im tempted to take felvin but when I remember what happened the last time, I'll ditch the idea.

Please what can I use to stop the pain that will not increase the flow? Please help with remedies that work.

This may sound crude, but I would still recommend. Chew on freshly cut and thoroughly washed bitterleaf a day to your flow and when it starts. This is likely to work if the cause of this pain is due to a change in your diet and especially if the diet contains lots of sugar.


If this doesn't work, try massaging your tummy with castor oil regularly. Though I haven't tried this, but from the testimonies of people around me, it works like magic.

For some days now I have been on a serious dilemma whether to resign from my federal government job that pays me above N200k for my current position and migrate to the UK or stay in naija and set up a business to augment my salary. I will be 34 years next year, I feel traveling to the uk for studies next year September will delay my chances of getting married, as I have planned not exceeding 34 years without getting married.

I would advise you to stick to your beliefs. You can have it all. Explore multiple streams of income, settle with your partner and much later, your business(es) can fund your emigration.

Tomorrow marks it 3 weeks my baby is here with the mother(39 weeks 5 days). She did 4 scans all tru her pregnancy. The latest one was my concern when we notice discomfort amd the report didn't seems well. Remember induction is a forceful way to extract a baby and very painful and most tyms as I was told the baby might be too weak to accept such procedure. You don't want to have to struggle your baby out.
CS was our option, I signed the consent form and my spouse didn't have to eat anything. In the morning around 8am she was already in the ward. After anatesia, the doctor performed the cut under her belle line to expose her gauging uterus. The rest was pulling the baby out and the head was the last to follow.
I watched it like a movie scene with courage and praying.
At the end I smiled and the mother is OK and fully recovered. I don knack her one, but na slow slow 5 days ago self..

Oh lord! This baby is cute. God bless and keep him/her

Most people in relationships believe that a relationship ends the day one party call it quit. But that’s far from the truth. An average relationship that ended didn’t end that day, it probably ended few days, months or years before. So why didn’t the person just call it quit that same day?

It’s mainly because the party involved just wants time to enjoy the benefits they’ve been enjoying. It may be the gifts, money, sex, the trips etc.

So let me share the experience of a friend of mine. He was dating this girl sometime ago and it was going on very well. So I was with him in her house on this particular day and they were arguing about something that has to do with the male and female gender. He is an unapologetic alpha male and supports the male gender with all he has but this was a problem with her. She said something that annoyed him so he told her he was going home. The next thing madam said was “who the hell do you think you are? Every time you'd just be getting angry as if you’re God” As if that wasn’t enough she pushed us both out of her apartment and told him “get out of my house and go and die“.

As a gentleman he didn’t say anything to me, but knowing my friend, deep down I knew the relationship was over. But he didn’t end it that day or week or month. A few later, he just called her out of the blue and said it was over. Some days ago while going through my own dating issues, I messaged him asking why he broke off with her and he forwarded the video below and typed "that day" under it.

I knew it was over after investing over a decade of my life dating a man with amorous fixations and patiently waiting for him to change from being unruly. That never happened. No regrets, lessons have been learnt and life continues.

You should have used the study route to emancipate yourself from this dilemma from the get go. Exploring that option now may liberate you, but then again, your innocent wife would end up heartbroken. Time fixes all things, so I would implore you to give it a year. No woman is ugly, you can bring her fashionably up to speed

Please my wife travelled for the Xmas/new year celebration. Am left with my kids and they have been yelling into my ears that on new year day, is fried rice or nothing.
