Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Boss Did This Yesterday by Juliearth(f): 3:19am On Jan 15, 2023
Preciousgirl:
I am highly convinced that my boss is interested in me
I can't imagine that my boss left his office yesterday to my office and sat before me. He was jittery all through his convo with me and it wasn't work related. He told me he has a surprise gift for me

Is this also not a clear sign?
Also, as a married woman, can I accept his gift?

Thank u
You know your boss has a crush on you and you want to collect gifts from him? No, babe! The gift is a bait and the moment you accept it, his flirting would graduate to stage two. That act would also give him hopes that he can actually have you. Whenever he makes such unofficial visits to your office, each sentence you make should be tied to your husband. For instance:
Boss: I'd like to take you to that new fancy restaurant down South tomorrow.
You: That is interesting, sir. My husband took me there for a romantic 5th wedding anniversary dinner and we plan on going there tomorrow again. So, I can't be able to honour your request. Moreover, my husband would not approve of me having a dinner with you.
Boss: you don't have to tell him though
You: I am sorry sir, but I tell my husband everything and he, likewise.
Boss: Okay then. Nice bracelet by the way (tries to touch it)
You: I am sorry sir, but you can't do that, I am a married woman. Thanks for the compliment though. My husband got it for me as a gift.

Boss: I just wanted to feel the bracelet
You: I know that sir, but as a married woman, the only contact I feel comfortable having is_are official contacts.

I don't know if you get my point though.

Be Smart!!!!

I'm not spending his money! Read the post. One of us has to hold it. We can't open a joint account, too far away to do so.

So what matters is who. And I'm better suited
So that one person has to be you? Do you know what that means?? Invariably, you are calling your man financially Incapable and immature.

Banilla:
Mods, take this to the front page. Thank you.

Hi everyone! I have a boyfriend, we've been together for a year. I absolutely love him, he's my whole world! And that's the reason I'm pressuring him to save, if we're going to have a future together. And he's down for it, he makes nothing less than 200k monthly. I'm still a student, searching for a decent job. I can't invest sh** presently but I hope to start soon. Yesterday, I brought it up. I want him to send money monthly to my bank account, no matter how little. I'll save it for him. He's hesitating. He said I should be patient, he'll give me everything I need but he wants more time. I don't want to ruin our relationship but I need his co-operation. I'm scared he might leave me, after I've given him the best years of my life. I subtly threatened him that my family would force me to marry a Nigerian but he made a joke out of it, saying I would never, that I'm his... embarassed

What should I do?

NB: I've never taken a dime from him. He drinks often and I don't want him spending 'our future' on alcohol! I'm way better at saving.

I'm worried if I press the subject, he'll get mad at me.

I also told him I want to leave Nigeria, he thinks it's a good idea and I also told him I can't afford it alone. He said he needs time.

Doesn't he love me? Should I let it go? Or insist we resolve this?
Babe, aren't you doing too much? I know you have the best intentions at heart, but an average Nigerian man would misinterprete this request of yours for collateral damage/tying him down and so on.

I think you can advise him to save/invest his resources, however, not in your account. Moreover, don't push it too much.

All the best!

You do not need a new washing machine. They sell used at lawanson. Possibly also at egbeda.

To rain on your parade, have you factored operating costs? water sourcing? Generator and petrol sourcing? Detergent?

ariel (my detergent of choice) has doubled in price. Is there a proper drain in your location? Money for the plumber to tie in your system? Concrete slabs (my own choice sha) to raise it above floor small?

Clothes line for drying? Securing customers clothes?

Buying from this platform is really about convenience. But as a business matter, better to get your hands dirty. It is same lawanson you will go back to for spare parts.
You don't mean it (@Ariel doubling in price) Last time I brought 2KG, it was 2200. Hmmmm!

FamilyRe: What Is the experience getting married to A Medical Doctor? by Juliearth(f): 11:45am On Jan 09, 2023
Akwaokukuo:
Hey guys, this question goes to the men in this thread who are married to medical doctors, especially those working in the UK or any other western country.
What are your experiences?
Judging from the busy schedule of medical doctors, how do you guys take care of the children?
What are the biggest challanges you face in your marriage?

I am currently dating a medical student and plan to send her abroad immediately after her studies.
I would appreciate hearing from those with the experience or those whose relatives are married to medical doctors and both of them live in any western country.
Thank you.
I think it's a bad idea bringing this here. Expect to get a few good advise and a ton if bad ones.

You have a point there, judging by what you are seeing, but I used a cup of palm oil to prepare this soup (5 litre). The method I used made it look so.

Spicy Mixed vegetables-chicken wanna-be bolognese sauce is one of my go-to sauces whenever the weather is cold. The heat from this sauce is capable of chasing cold away. This is how I prepare it, but first, the ingredients:
Carrots
Peas
Green Pepper
Pepper mix consisting of pepper, onion, ginger, garlic, spring onion, red bell pepper and a few balls of tomatoes
Seasoning
Chicken
Vegetable oil
I found a chunk of grilled fish and decided to add that to the party

Note that all ingredients a are to be washed and prepped accordingly.
Season your chicken and cook until tender. Fry afterwards (I didnt fry mine thoug). Heat some oil in a pan and pour in your pepper mix. Fry until its beginning to look fried. Afterwards you add all your chopped vegetables, except green pepper. Cook for three minutes and its ready, add your green pepper and turn off the heat immediately and your sauce is ready.

FoodSpicy Egusi Soup For The Weekend by Juliearth(op): 5:30am On Jan 08, 2023
Egusi is one of my favourite soups and there is no limit to how you can prepare this soup. This is one method I use in making it, but first the ingredients.
Protein of choice (I would, on a normal day, use mutton, stock fish and smoked catfish, but what I had available is chicken and smoked catfish)
Palm oil
Seasoning
Egusi
Ugu leaves
Crayfish
Camoroun pepper
Powdered ginger for extra heat
Pepper mix (comprising of pepper, Onion cameroun pepper and red bell pepper)
Iru
Onion
Note that all ingredients are to be prepped accordingly and form a thick paste with the egusi using soke meat stock.
First thing is to season and cook your chicken. In a bigger pot pour in some palm oil, once hot, scoop the soaked egusi like Akara into the oil and toss to the other side once well fried. Do this on low heat. Once its well fried, pour in your pepper mix and fry both ingredients for 5 minutes. Pour in your meat stock and add more water if needs be.

Add your cooked chicken, washed fish, seasoning, crayfish . Stir and cover to cook. Stir intermittently so your egusi doesn’t burn. Once oil starts to show at the top of your egusi, it means its well cooked. Pour in your washed ugu and take off heat after 4 minutes and there goes your egusi soup.

Understood. However, there is a lot more to chew in fried rice compared to jollof rice. Hence the stress.
It's like asking some people why they dislike Afang soup. The fear of mistakenly swallowing periwinkles whole trouble them and also the 'sucking' thing which to them is stressful. But for those that are used to such, it's fun and lovely.
Some days back, I ate Egusi soup to which periwinkles was strangely added.
I didn't know at first until I swallowed one(with shell). After that moment, I became cautious which took away the SATISFACTION I was supposed to derive from the food. I ended up with seeing about ten periwinkles in the Egusi.
I totally understand you. However, for every problem, there is a solution. Instead of cooking your veggies al dante you could cook until its soft; all the nutrients lost, but problem solved.

Periwinkles can also be de-shelled

Lol.... Actually, those veggies look overfresh, like a GMO.. And then, most chickens I see being cut like that looks like it was bought as packaged chicken.
The veggies look fresh because I didn't overcook them and I used minimal spices. As for the chicken, I like them chunky for plating purposes.
