FG shortlists 5,000 out 1.4 million applicants for civil defence job

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has shortlisted 5,000 successful candidates for employment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps out of the 1,477,042 candidates that applied in the 2019 recruitment exercise.

The Secretary of the board, Mrs Aisha Rufai, who disclosed this at the Civil Defence headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday, directed all prospective applicants to check the application portal, http://cdfipb.careers from January 17, 2022.

She, however, noted that the portal wouldn’t open to candidates who were not shortlisted, adding that the documentation exercise would commence from January 31.

“Applicants should check for their names, documentation location, guidelines for documentation exercise and print out their invitation slip without which they will not be allowed to participate in the exercise,” she said.

The NSCDC Commandant-General, Dr Ahmed Audi, stated that the recruitment was specifically for 2019 applicants, adding that the successful candidates would be invited for training after the documentation process.

Audi said a total of 1,477,042 applicants applied in 2019 but the number was reduced to 746,762 when some applicants did not meet up with the specified requirements.

He said, “A total of 217,000 candidates successfully uploaded their certificates and were shortlisted for the Computer-Based Assessment Test.


“Out of 113,105 candidates shortlisted, 53,116 sat for the CBT in December 2020 across the country and 6,500 were shortlisted for further screening,” he said.

According to the CG, the recruitment exercise lingered till 2022 due to the emergence of COVID-19 and the need for proper vetting of the candidates.

“Recruitment is a process and it is not easy to vet over one million people as vetting is very fundamental to the process and takes a longer time,” he said.

i've been living under the fear of having a heart problem for more than five years, but my people refused that i should go for scan probably because of fear that it might be true, and there won't be money to care/treat it..

Even me, i'm afraid to go for scan, because the moment it is comfirmed to me, i don't kno if i would be able to live with it..

i can't run nor do hard work, my pulse is always high and sometimes my breathing stop totally.. I've fainted multiple times, and i've been living under depression for so long..

Now, this symptoms is increasing on daily basis, but my people dosn't want me to go for scan.. Is like they already knows the result will turn out positive.

But what if i go for scan an the result shows that i have a heart probem, how will i be able to live with it, knowing fully very well that we don't have the money to cure it..

I don't kno what to do nairalanders, i need advice..

Go and do an ECHO...for a 28yr old with heart disease it should be a mild ASD or some other mild conditions. Cos you would have presented earlier.

Nigerian superstar singer, David Adeleke professionally known as Davido has been revealed to be a smart and focused student during his time at Babcock University, Siggy reveals.

Davido’s former Head of Department, Olusegun Ojuola, said during an interview with TheCable that the musician kept his distance from course mates during exams.

According to the lecturer, when he noticed that the ‘Aye’ crooner did not attempt to interact or help other students since he was a brilliant student, he questioned him about it.

He said Davido told him he does it to avoid being distracted in the exam hall.

“I will always remember that during exams David liked to keep a distance from other students. I asked why; he said he didn’t want to be distracted. He is quite a brilliant student,” he said.

Ojuola also revealed that Davido was only able to graduate as a part-time student in such a short period of time because of the credits he carried from Oakwood University in Business Administration in 2010 and extra summer semesters.

And yeah There are cash based Vending machines available. The problem with it, is just that it accepts exact fees only, it does not give change. Once I lost some money in one of the cash based ones, thinking it was going to give me change.


And the programming part is a bit complex i was told by a friend that runs a company providing such services. There where specialised in Reverse Osmosis Ice Cold Water Vending machiens, and it was impressive to note that some of this machines use pentium processors, rather than the normal processor to save cost.

Another alternative would be using call cards, but i have seen people tweak call cards in Nigeria, so I wouldnt really encourage that. Nitel would testify to that with their payphone cards.

There are many alternatives that can be employed, since they can be custom made.

But still a lot of issues really would arise, like products to sell, the kind of denomination to fit, location, electricity supply etc. I still dont think Nigeria is ready for vending machines.

I met this intelligent lady in my final year in school, she was a fresher then, we started off as friends, she gave in after I graduated while she was in 200l.

Our love was going fine but I observed she doesn't call much and hardly respond to messages on WhatsApp, many times, she will be online while my messages will be delayed before she responded, I've complained countless of time to show some real love and affection so I can know she truly loves me, but she's just that type of person that can do 1 or 2 days without talking to someone she loves. She actually loves me and I know that for a fact but she's not just showing it enough and I'm not feeling it enough.

I had the intention to sponsor her business ideal which was giving her 200k to start up her skin care products, but we had to change that plan when she was having issue with her uncle's wife, the lady was maltreating her and I wasn't comfortable with the way she was complaining of her treatment towards her, so I came up with a plan to use the money I'm supposed to give her for business to secure an apartment, my plan was, I will secure a mini flat where we can both be staying pending when she will finish school but I won't be staying around often since my job doesn't permit me.
We got the apartment after a month serach and furnished it beautifully to suit her, I thought all of this will make her change towards me and start showing so much care and affection since we both live together now, but it still doesn't change, many times, I face so many challenges in my work but she doesn't care to know what's going with my work or care to know how I'm fairing with work, so I got confused one day and thought is this lady playing me and just wasting my time, I messaged her to tell her I'm fed up of how she treats me and doesn't show so much care towards me, then told her we should breakup if she's finding it difficult to show that love she has for me, she asked if I was serious about the breakup but God knows it's just a mere threat in me and I just want her to plead for change but she took it up when I told her I meant it, now she has left the apartment I got for us and I'm here regretting why I threatened her with breakup.

The apartment I got for us is still there without any of us staying there, and I'm about relocating to another state but God knows I still want her back and make things right with her but I don't know how to win her back and she seems to have made up her mind never to come back, what advise do you have for me after this experience with her.

Year 2021 February to be precise, my husband served me a divorce notice. Though I saw it coming as we have been separated for some months.
The case is still in court though.

We are blessed with 3 kids under 10.

Soon the divorce will be finalized and we will both move on.

Did he lose his job, did he cheat and was caught, did you also cheat, did u lose respect for him along the way, did he become physically violent towards you. Was he a drunk or chronic womanizer. My advise look good, focus on your job and you both decide how the children can be better if he is someone who has sense and be open to a new relationship if you decide and let the new guy know u have kids or you can choose to stay without a partner some women do cos of their children...put on a smile..there is nothing to be shameful about things happen..if e easy make dem do am.
