PoliticsRe: Calls For Restructuring: Go To National Assembly - Garba Shehu Tells Agitators by kayjay69(m):
To restructure Nigeria, 2/3 of the national house of assembly needs to approve.
The present composition of Nigeria per geopolitical zones are:
North West - 7 states
North Central - 6 states
North East - 6 states
South West - 6 states
South East - 5 states
South South - 6 states
Each state has 3 senators, plus 1 from the FCT and house of rep members vary per state but the total of 109 senators and 360 house of rep members

2/3 means 73 senators and 240 house of rep members.
For this to happen, the southern geopolitical zones need to be 100% united and get help from some North Central (a.k.a Middle Belt) states.

Theoretically, it can happen. Practically, it is almost impossible mostly due to politics. These National Assembly Members know if they vote to restructure, that is the end of their largesse hence their absolute commitment to One Nigeria. They are not revolutionaries, they love, enjoy and benefit from the status quo, they want things to remain as they are. In addition, those of a Northern Extraction, as a matter of survival, will never vote to restructure.

So Garba Shehu knows exactly what he is doing when he is telling agitators to goto the National Assembly. I do not see a peaceful resolution to restructuring or splitting Nigeria which is why I will continue to state, the Southern region (especially my region the Southwest) needs be ready for any type of scenario.

Si vis pacem, para bellum - if you want peace, prepare for war.

Everyone including yourself has turned into a constitutional expert. When the Fulani roam into other people's farms rape, pillage, kill and destroy, are they also empowered by the constitution to do so?

We are already at war, these are not isolated incidents, they are part of a nefarious scheme, a much bigger plot. All is fair in love and war therefore I wholeheartedly support Chief Sunday Igboho. I support anyone and everyone that will chase out these terrorists from Southwest Nigeria and restore normalcy. These terrorists are not reasonable, they only understand force, hence you respond with force no questions asked. As you can see they have the military on their side, we need weapons to counter that, we need our own parallel military.

This is not about politics, our homeland and our heritage is at stake.

You cannot eat your cake and have it.
You want pastoralism to be abolished in the south, welcome to the party. Please who will abolish pastoralism and who will enforce said law? In Nigeria, the President controls all security agencies and appoints Supreme court justices. The National Assembly is made up of representatives from mostly northern states because of the lopsided arrangement of the country itself. Goodluck with passing such a bill through that house. On the state level, even in states where open grazing has been banned, fulani herdsmen are still openly grazing and flouting the laws.

The likes of Mr Sunday Igboho are a much needed good that should counter these evil terrorists. Like him or not, his methods are effective because sometimes one must counter fire with fire.
BlackBaron:
Never in support of stances like displayed by Mr Sunday and I think he should not be allowed to get away with this act.

But

Pastoralism should be abolished in the South as its causing tragedies for farmers and others alike. Nomadic herdsmen do NOT have any supposed generational right and I think their respective state government should now start looking for alternatives to stop them encroaching on southerners homestead.

I have been on Youtube, watching various videos of Chief Sunday Igboho. I encourage you all to do same, they give a clearer picture of what is happening.

All I can say is May God almighty bless Chief Sunday Igboho. May God keep him, grant him strength and protect him from all of his enemies. Amen.

I say this because I now he is Public Enemy #1 to this Fulani Federal Government and Public Enemy #2 to these imbecillic South West politicians who talk from both sides of their mouth. I will gladly support this man and I hope the average yoruba whose lives and means of livelihood have been affected by these terrorists will do same.

If he does what he has to do, then he will be daring this Fulani Federal Government.

I agree that he needs to move in silence but you must also understand that in doing what he is doing, he is awakening the consciousness of the average Yoruba, which is a good thing given that we have been asleep for far too long.

Makinde is playing politics with the issue at hand. It is very simple, if South west governors are serious they will support the likes of Mr Sunday Igboho behind the scenes and claim plausible deniability. But it is important to send a message, these terrorist fulani herdsmen are kidnapping, raping, killing and pillaging, they do not understand the language of reason they only understand the language of terror and force. Until we meet them fire for fire, absolutely nothing will change. The wealthy businessmen and politicians should support the likes of Mr Igboho because of what is at stake. Unfortunately, I fear that if they support him, it will be for political reasons only.

If politicians are the ones supporting him, I can guarantee you that he will also be sold out eventually. He needs to prepare for that eventuality.
Neddstark:

Makinde, initially when at the forefront of the establishment of Amotekun, I thought was a bold leader. Now I see him as nothing a man without testicles. All he and the other governors want to do is play politics with what is going on.

Clearly these so-called Yoruba leaders, speaking from both sides of their mouth, do not care for their constituents enough and he feels perhaps threatened by the growing popularity of this Mr Sunday Igboho.

Alright I understand you clearly and what you mean.

PoliticsRe: Alaafin Writes Buhari, Says 'Tackle Insecurity Now Before It’s Too Late' by kayjay69(m): 4:33pm On Jan 22, 2021
I understand what you are saying. I have taken all the points you raised into consideration before making my statements. If the governors choose to enforce the grazing ban, how will they enforce it? To the best of my knowledge (and I stand to be corrected) Amotekun looks nothing more than an advanced vigilante group. According to intel, some of these herdsmen are ex-Boko Haram members. They have fought the armies of Niger, Chad, Nigeria and Cameroun, therefore they are battle hardened and skilled at the art of guerilla warfare (although I concede that the northern terrain is different from that of the south west, however if they have spent sufficient time in the forests of the SW it is also safe to assume that they have familiarised themselves with the terrain).

I say all these things knowing fully well that these herdsmen invasion are a part of a larger strategy at play. The Fulani have never hidden their intention to overrun the entire Nigeria and turn it into a caliphate state. They have been successful in the North West and North East of Nigeria. They have successfully infiltrated all layers and arms of government, installing themselves or persons who have pledged allegiance to them. They are skilled at the art of deception and they are very patient which is why they have lasted for this long. They took Ilorin from under our noses, no thanks to that bastard called Afonja and they have never hidden their desire to conquer the south of Nigeria.

Therefore, given all of the aforementioned, if the governors really enforce their grazing ban there is every reason to believe that this may lead to a full blown crisis and I do believe fulanis in the military and in government will wade in to support these herdsmen in one way or the other. We must be prepared for every scenario. In 1967, it is said that Awo told Ojukwu that we, Yorubas, were the least prepared for war in the event that Biafra seceded, therefore he did not join Ojukwu to secede, he was right we were ill-prepared. However, right now I do not wish to hear that this time, we have no excuses. We simply cannot and should not sit idly by watching our sons and daughters get slaughtered, kidnapped whilst living in fear in our own homeland.

I will leave you with this popular latin adage "Si vis pacem, para Bellum". It simply means "if you want peace, prepare for war".
LegendHero:
Why do you need all these ammunitions/missile defense system for Fulani herdsmen who just play hide and seek in a coward way. Not that you are fighting a co-ordinated military of some sort so why do we need all these things you are saying?

The solution to Fulani herdsmen menace is very simple, it is government WILL to do. I’m not talking about the FG here, I’m talking about the SW governors and leaders themselves.

There is nothing stopping them from taking a bold enforceable steps of banning open grazing entirely in states across the SW and making sure they stand their ground.

Then after that, we know what will be left is to go into those forest and do a mop up operation of what’s left of the remnants in our forests and etc.

Also you systematically send these Fulanis out of the West using a well masterminded government policy of some sort. You can only implement martial law in a nation fighting war and that’s when our military guys will come in place.

But here you are still in Nigeria, not that we are currently waging full blown war against anyone. I don’t subscribe to emotions online and I prefer talking about realistic and ethical things.

Mind you, do you even think all this media coverage and voices from the SW leaders is for joke? They know what they are planning and when the results start showing, you will understand the game.

Lastly, I did not chestbeat, you said you know our history well, so you should know the SW are determined and any uprising in the West will consume the rest of the country.
PoliticsRe: Alaafin Writes Buhari, Says 'Tackle Insecurity Now Before It’s Too Late' by kayjay69(m): 3:08pm On Jan 22, 2021
Legend hero, a fellow yorubaman here (I needed to say that for what I am about to say) I am a follower of yours and I do not mean any insult by what I am about to say next.

Your statement comes across to me as chestbeating truth be told and that is the last thing we need right now. As it stands, the fulanis are in full control of the military and federalist structure in nigeria. True, we may have what it takes in terms of people, but what we need to be seeing right now is billionaire donors (businessmen and politicians alike). We need to buy drones, armoured vehicles, sophisticated guns and night vision googles. We need intelligence gathering equipment. We need to stay proactive, always on our toes and never give in to both these foreign invaders and their sympathizers within the Yoruba community (I say this knowing my history quite well and knowing that these herdsmen enjoy some level of support in some of these local communities). And we may need a couple of missile defense and attack systems too. We also need skilled diplomats that will represent our interests in the international community. And I know you may not want to hear this, but most of all, if we must defeat these demons we need to cooperate with our Middle Belt, South Eastern and South South brothers.

Now you may think I am overreacting however when push comes to shove, I have assumed the military is in full control of the fulani. We must create our own parallel military and we must be willing to dig in. No half measures, we must be ready to do what it takes in order that we become an independent entity, free from the madness that has characterised our collective existence since 1914.
LegendHero:
Iku Baba Yeye.

I’m happy our Governors, elected official, and our royal house are all speaking in unison against this menace openly and the Fulanis terrorizing us will understand that the Yorubas don’t talk without action.

This message is an Aroko to Buhari, if he likes he should hear, that’s his own cup of tea.

Abo oro la’nso fomoluabi, to ba de inu e, a di odidi.

“ Mr President, let me assure you that the Yoruba people traditionally have what it takes to defend themselves and interests against all enemy attacks. What is of immediate concern is the possibility of these traditional self-help mechanisms of defence to conflict with the legal and constitutional framework of the security organisations. This is indeed my greatest fear, recluse the situation is fast degenerating into what could trigger the complete breakdown of law and order under a constitutional state arrangement. Thus latent frustration must be nipped in the bud to avert a breakdown of the state system in Yorubaland. I am aware that members of the Odua People’s Congress scattered all over the world are already being mobilised to stand in the defence of their land and are ready, willing and able to raise an army of volunteers as was done in 1968 by the Agbekoya.”

A lot of people do not know their history because this same Fulani killed the teaching of actual Nigerian history in schools in order to hide the truth from people and obscure their true motives.

Thank you for your post and the insightful picture. For Your Information, in the years past it is not like they have not made incursions into southern territories of neighbouring west african countries, it is just that they are constantly repelled, from Ivory Coast to Ghana, Togo to Benin Republic, the story of these fulani herdsmen is all the same, their games, their true motives are all the same. If we, in the south, do not rise up, sweeping aside our differences, I fear the worst. As you can see from the picture, fulanis are more concentrated in Nigeria than even the very places (Fula Jallon and Futa Toro) they originated from. That shows you that their Nigerian story has been nothing short of successful.

To those who have ears, let them hear!

Did you know many Nigerian youth do not know the history of Sokoto, and that Sokoto never existed 220 years ago? They don't know Gobiri (now Sokoto) fell. Likewise Zamfara and Jigawa. Many do not know it is this same Borno that fought Othman Dan Fodio and his goons to a standstill which redirected the Fulanis to start encroaching Bauchi, Kaduna and Plateau?

Many people don't know their history that's why I chuckle when people say "Lets still keep Nigeria as one". You don't even have an idea what's coming. If you live in the "One-Nigeria" delusion, the best you can only hope for is just a tiny respite of this Fulani-killing-spree, maybe if a Southerner luckily clinches the Presidential post (like Jonathan's resume). But when his tenure is over, status quo will fully resume.

Since we at the south do not move to peoples' lands to conquer, we will eternally be on the backfoot, resisting and resisting their encroachment and losing the battle bit by bit.

Expect more cities to fall to the Caliphate. SOUTHERN FOOOLS!!

Dangote is a true born Hausa man, through and through. He is not of Fulani extraction.

While it is indeed wrong to criminalise an entire tribe, I would rather we did that than we, you know, all become slaves at the hands of the tribe you mention. We are past political correctness right now, if our governors had any testicles in between their legs, they would be training militia in guerilla warfare and arming them to the teeth because if you think there is some messianic figure coming to make this all go away, you are mistaken.

The fulani herdsmen are being prodded by the fulani elite in Nigeria as part of a regional Fulani plot to take over Southern Nigeria. Buhari sees himself as the 3rd coming of Uthman Dan Fodio, their grand patron. This generation of Nigerians, yourself included, have turned to apologists because clearly you perhaps don't know your history or are not proud of your heritage, well I am proud to be Yoruba and I do not wish my land to be invaded. This is not the time to make friends or to be polite. If we have to get ugly to prove a point and split this country on our terms, then so be it. Remember, it is your land, the land of your forefathers and the fathers before them, that is at stake.
Salewa97:
It’s not good to criminalize all the tribe as a whole.

Dangote is a Fulani in the city, should we also evict him?

There are also Yorubas in the North just like there are sensible Hausas and Fulanis in the SW living peacefully in the city and respecting their hosts.

We have Hausa/Fulanis in Sabo across the SW doing their business peacefully and I don’t think we should make it seems like it’s a coordinated attack against the Fulanis in general.

The Fulani herdsmen in the bushes should just evacuate the SW forest reserve. That is what we are telling them and I am sure the SW governors will speak in unison soon and the Fulanis will get the memo by fire by force.

This is exactly my fear. You see my average yoruba brother is simply satisfied with what little he has and looks up to these selfish politicians.
Judging from events of recent days, you can see there is barely any politician with actual testicles in South West Nigeria. All we have are a bunch of Yes-men idiots. Look at what Makinde said recently, directly opposing what Akeredolu said. Why is Fayemi silent? Why is Oyetola silent? Why is Dapo silent? Why is Sanwo-olu silent? Is it because of Tinubu's presidential ambitions? Tinubu has shown himself a masterful deceiver, him becoming president will mean absolutely nothing for the average Yoruba man. If I lie, please point out his antecedents in the past 21 years and how it has translated to betterment for Yorubas of Lagos origin.

Why can't they all come out and speak with one voice, politics be damned. If we lose our lands, we lose our identity, our sources of livelihood, our common heritage. This dangerous game we are playing with these treacherous fulanis is bound to have consequences and it will not end well for all involved, followers and leaders alike. He almost said the truth. But I doubt if restructuring will end the Biafran agitation. No, not now that millions have paid the ultimate price for it while the fundamental causes of the war are getting reinforced by the day.

And, do you guys even realize that what you call 'restructuring' had been in place in 1966 when the Nigerian Civil War reared its ugly head? So, how can it be of benefit now? For example, will it stop the herder tribe from overstepping their boundaries and killing people in their homes and farms?

If we can think clearly, we can see with Igbos that the only thing that can save this place is a breakup with each people maintaining a full territorial integrity - fully independent armed forces, resource management, political sovereignty, etc. In such a situation, when anyone oversteps the boundary, it becomes a clear issue of international politics, no longer within the manipulations of the local political class.

It's better to break an embattled marriage and stay in friendship than to keep it and stay in conflict. Mark my word: If we refuse to listen to the voice of reason to break up this contraption, OUR UNBORN GENERATIONS WILL USE US AS A CURSE WORD. Only selfish politicians who still have something personal to gain from Nigeria keep using such expressions as 'one Nigeria' and 'restructuring'.

Dr Adesina is right, Africa is indeed the next frontier. However, countries such as Nigeria will be last in the pecking order.

There are other African countries who have laid out the foundation and who are best poised to take advantage of this opportunity. Rwanda and Botswana come to mind. Kenya and Ethiopia are making great strides. Countries that have a high literate population coupled with decent public infrastructure (road network, air and sea port, security, power, hospitals, high speed internet) are the ones that will benefit from such opportunity.

Nigeria has a long long long way to go before it can achieve any of these and compete for the chance to grab such opportunities.

Great development that will depress crude oil prices to less than $40 per barrel.

Since countries, such as Nigeria, have refused to invest in it's people, invest in infrastructure, invest in education in order to create alternative means of revenue, it will only mean wider economic deficits, more and more borrowing, more and more inflation and more untold hardship on the average citizen.

Therefore, countries such as Nigeria may disintegrate around this period in time because they will have outlived their usefulness. It is pretty simple logic, for those who have ears let them hear!

This is why Yoruba people must never look up to politicians. In the end, they will play people around like pawns for their chess game. They simply do not care about the livelihood and security of their constituents. If a full scale war were to take place, they will flee this country in their private jets to join their families in foreign lands.

Politicians will only do things that are favourable to their political survival and growth. It does not matter how many lives will be sacrificed to accomplish this, they are just collateral damage. This is why in a country such as nigeria, the ordinary man must arm himself and protect what is his rather than look to our collectively failed system for help.

So Yorubas should keep being sacrificed on the altar of Tinubu or Osinbajo's political ambition. So that when they assume the position of president, they will somehow change the lives of all 40plus million yoruba people in Nigeria? Yorubas should not concern themselves with surviving, they should only keep quiet whilst being slaughtered for no crime other than existing. You clearly do not understand the issue at hand.
Do you think the average southern politician is affected by any of these events? Do you think their immediate families are affected?

They simply do not care, these events to them are collateral damage and worthy sacrifices for the actualisation of their political ambition. We do not have leaders, what we have are career politicians who are skilled at the art of stealing.

People keep making this mistake of thinking there is some messianic figure at the horizon who will come and save us all from this mess. No, there are no such figures, there are no such individuals. When Buhari leaves, Fulanis are still strategically placed within government parastatals to continually ensure protection for these killer herdsmen. It is clear they have an agenda and it is clearly not to the advantage of any average southern folk.

Everyone (all southern tribes, whether east, west or south) needs to come together, put aside stupid differences of religion and tribe and fight to protect what is rightfully ours otherwise this storm coming will wipe us all away and our generations to come will be slaves in their own land. It has happened before and history does have a way of repeating itself if care is not taken. If we do not become proactive and continue to react, one day these events may well overwhelm us all!

Despite ongoing attempts to station stooges from the mallam security gates, herdsmen, bandits, financial sector all the way to different royal palaces.... Can't happen.

They missed a turn-- forgot to enquire from the TimeLord!!

Its Ondo not Onto.
Fixey:
Which begs for the answer why the presidency is he'll bent on fighting so hard each time there's an uproar against Herders or fulani people in skirmishes especially after they did wrong ?

I'm not a Yoruba but like to ask, did the Onto state just wake up to tell them they didn't want the people anymore?

Did Onto two weeks ago tell fulani people disguised under the emblem herdsmen to leave?

What right does the fulani have to dwell in forests so much so that the president would hold brief for them over the ESN that are dwelling in forests in an act of service to defend it's people so much so that the presidency would evoke all he'll to want them out of the forests.

Some years ago, the SW says this was thier presidency, not the one before it. What a shame if this is what allegiance can bring. Shameless servitude

He is probably only Nigerian asper his passport. There are a contingent of lebanese people who came to Nigeria since the IBB regime and were involved in all sorts of schemes for corrupt dictators such as oil bunkering and money laundering. They usually would have a legit business to act as a front for various nefarious activities. The popular Vaswani brothers come to mind.

However, these Lebanese marry among themselves and their offspring are born in Nigeria. They have Nigerian passports but I do not think they have any form of Nigerian blood as they have long since realised it pays to maintain that white skin (after white skin is a form of currency in itself) than marry and muddy the complexion up in addition to them being very racist too.

Hence, we have our Nigerian-Lebanese friend here.
