CelebritiesRe: Seun Kuti On EndSARS: "Our Demands Are Too Weak" by kayjay69(m):
Seun is right.

The demands are indeed weak and it really does seem we are fighting for better welfare for the police when we should be agitating for better welfare for all (police included).

Also, even if the FG increases salaries and provides better conditions for the police force it may not translate to all Police automatically becoming better people in society. I do believe we should be protesting bad governance, the mother of police brutality and all other brutalities meted out on Nigerians. And again, it is not about Buhari, it is about ALL our rotten leaders (prior, present and future).

But it is my opinion that Seun should have joined the protests regardless. I guess he may have thought it would be like most other protests in Nigeria greeted with apathy.

PoliticsRe: Orji Kalu: Awolowo Told Me He Did Not Trust Babangida by kayjay69(m): 4:28pm On Oct 18, 2020
I guess Awolowo learned the two types of military officers after he had been tricked into Gowon's government and subsequently dealt with.

As much as I love the man for all he did for my people, he is one of the reasons we are in the conundrum we find ourselves today. His greatest failing was his unquechable thirst for power. Not saying he did not deserve it, he was by far the most qualified and prepared of them all. But in my view, he soon abandoned principles he agitated for: strong regional governments and states formed on the basis ethnic and sub-ethnic groups and embraced a federalist structure that was bound to lead us nowhere.

He was a visionary but as soon as he saw the unitary government (the biggest mistake of them all) formed by Ironsi, he saw it as the perfect opportunity to ascend to the throne. And the rest we know is history.
PoliticsRe: Bashir El-Rufai On #EndSARS: Nigeria Does Not Begin In Lagos & Ends In Abuja by kayjay69(m): 4:00pm On Oct 18, 2020
Bashir, I totally agree with you. Which is why you should support restructuring or splitting so we all can know where Nigeria starts from and where it truly stops.

I know the Nigeria you refer to is the one your people kindly refer to as conquered territory. The same one where it's your people at the top of the food chain then the subservient slaves from other ethnicities and down below anyone who opposes the will of your people. A Nigeria where nepotism always trumps merit and the poor remain so for generations to come.

This protest season must be ushering a harsh reality of life to you and your born to rule clan. The reality that all things much surely come to an end.

Regards to your father and kindly tell him we are coming for men such as him next.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Is Not Sponsoring #ENDSARS Protesters – Spokesman by kayjay69(m): 3:45pm On Oct 18, 2020
This most definitely means that Tinubu is sponsoringor atleast has gotten involved on some level with the #EndSars protests.

I do not mean he cares for the the protesters and Nigerians at large (the evil ogre could give zero f_c_u_k_s), I am saying he may have seized upon it to make an impression on his detractors of northern extraction within his political party.
A kind of see what I am capable of if you deny me the presidential ticket. Knowing what I know about the man, this is the type of thing he can do.

And for fools claiming he is losing revenue from the toll gate, it is free money afterall being extorted from commuters along that axis, so he is not losing zilch. Whatever he loses now, he will gain some other way. And what do you think a few millions or even a billion or two mean to him anyway. He is one of the most corrupt politicians in Nigeria, if he feels losing that much will help further his true aim, he will do it. He is well known to be a bet it all kind of man. Nigerians have no idea who their leaders really are.

PoliticsRe: #EndSARS: Nigeria Now Divided - Governor Bala Mohammed by kayjay69(m): 11:30am On Oct 18, 2020
Mr Bala Mohammed, Nigeria is not divided as a result of EndSARS protests. Nigeria has been divided since before these protests, infact I'd argue that Nigeria was never a country to begin no thanks to your kinfolk who have mostly been at the helm of affairs and continue to entrench nepotism as a way of life.

And the Media is not a tool for your evil agendas you already have NTA for that, Nigerian media should report whatever they see. There is no sensationalism about factual reporting. Nigerian youths are coming for men like you, I am sure you are dusting up your foreign passport because you are going to need it.

I thank God for people like you who are seeing things for what they should be and speaking out loud.

We must not get carried away with Police Brutality. I admit it is a problem but the biggest problem we have is bad governance, the child of this illegal union we call Nigeria.

We need to restructure this country and that is what we must start to clamour for otherwise what lies ahead is a forceful split which no one is bound to gain from.

PoliticsRe: SARS & Police Brutality: Seun Okinbaloye Writes On How To Fix Nigeria by kayjay69(m): 5:34pm On Oct 17, 2020
True bro however this is not the main issue we have.
Bad governance over the years due to the way the country itself is constituted is the main cause of our problems.

Police brutality is just one of our many problems.
Seun:
The loftier the plan, the lower the likelihood of success. The reform I'd like to see is an end to the abuse of power by armed forces personnel. This includes brutality, extortion and torture. No officer should ever slap a person unless the law says that the officer must slap them. The path to achieving this is the punishment of those who abuse their power. There must be penalties for slapping, beating, or killing people unnecessarily.

PoliticsRe: Dolapo Badmus, Yomi Shogunle Reprimanded & Demoted - Ayoo Akanji by kayjay69(m): 3:05pm On Oct 17, 2020
Brother, I was saying the same exact thing.

See I love #EndSARS because finally finally as long as I have been born, Young Nigerians (atleast the ones in the Middle and Southern cities) are standing together, showing their resilience and demanding change. They are showing the establishment they are tired of empty rhetoric and bland palliatives offered over the years.

But I am still sad. I am sad because unfortunately we are focused on the wrong protest. We should be protesting Bad Governance (which did not start now with the present administration) which happens to be the parent that gave birth to children such as the rotten police force that we have today. Ofcourse useless prostitutes a.k.a politicians will quickly hop on the bandwagon and march with the youths as if they are on the side of the people, but it is these useless criminals we should really go after.

The Nigeria Police Force is made up of human beings, Nigerians, some of whom I believe are good at heart but perhaps the system over time turned them into the monsters that they are. I do contend that everybody in Nigeria is a victim of Nigeria itself. Even the useless leaders, they just don't know it.

We need to focus our attention on what I think is the real cause of the problems we face. You think the NPF is the most corrupt government agency?
What of NIMASA and how they sell out Nigerian seafaring jobs to foreigners in the name of waiver?
What of the Nigerian Immigration Service and how they consistently frustrate a simple process of obtaining a passport, all for monetary gain?
What of the Nigerian Customs? What of the NNPC? What of FERMA? FAAN? NCAA? NAMA? CBN? EFCC? BPE? NPA? NERC? NIWA? The f_c_u_k_i_n_g National Assembly? I am sure you can deduce and see the common denominator, Nigeria, Nigeria, Nigeria.

I can go on and on. Nigeria itself is a sham, a scam, a fools paradise. And until we protest against this country and the rotten souls that hold it to ransome, I am afraid to say things will continue the way they are with no real change.
Sanchez01:
There is no denying that heads will roll in an attempt to please the people. As it stands, the systemic corruption in the police force is crazy deep, so much that politicians and some elites who have unjustly used the police to victimised the common people will be caught up in the cross fire.

Knowing this, EndSARS is just the wake up call because the police and those in government might be thinking protests will cease after the announcement but the people will want more. Already, there are calls for the resignation of the IGP and the president. Demands for simple basic things we need for everyday survival will be pushed and the government will have no choice but to heed.

The police force should ensure that officers that have been noted for dismissal should not return as armed robbers. Offa robbery and similar others across the country are case studies.

The rude awakening is needed. Change is the new normal.

I guess you failed to read where it said the project was conceptualized during Fayemi's first tenure and Fayose picked up the project from there.

No need to sow seeds of division, what I think is most important is that the project was completed within budget and on timely. I doubt if this was the case.

No big deal regarding these projects in my estimation. Ekiti was created same 1996 as Ebonyi, go look at what is happening in Ebonyi and I can bet you both states have similar allocations from government. It is a small state with a small population, some issues should not even feature as part of the states problems. Mind you it is my state and I grew up there 10 years so I know exactly what I am talking about.
Rhapsodia:
Okay cheesy

This looks like Fayose's project, at least he should give credits for continuity in governance.

But what do I know cheesy

PoliticsRe: EndSARS: Sowore Deserves Better Than What He Got In Abuja - Opinion by kayjay69(m): 11:04am On Oct 16, 2020
True. But he has the guts to call them out which means not only is he human as the rest of us are, he is not a minion loyal to this administration. If he were, then I would totally fault him but he atleast had the good conscience to speak against this present government.

GEJ had respect for the rule of law, he made good strides in some areas and is a perfect gentleman however he is not the type of leader Nigeria needed at that time neither is the totally inept, nepotist, coward, backward thinker Buhari. One does not make the other look good, both are incompetent leaders, both are bad but then maybe one to a worse degree than the other.

Sowore for all of his errors in judgment has not occupied any real position of power nor is he a politician, he is an activist at best, and as such I do not think he deserved to be treated that way.

Can we just hurry up and split this country?

Is it not as clear as day that the Southern part of the country does not have the same objectives as the North? And it has been this way since before 1960.

I really wish this protest were about the bad state of things in the country and not just about SARS/SWAT. I recognise that Police brutality is a problem but trust me when I say it is not the #1 problem we have. Infact, it is a symptom of the main disease which is this country as it is presently constituted.

Restructure or Split, Nigeria and Nigerians the choice is yours!

You have your head firmly planted on your shoulders, well done.

For a man of his stature to resort to saying this in the media, I can assure you he has definitely said it up to 100 times to past presidents atleast since 1999.

He is not a coward nor is he fearful, he just decides to not criticize these leaders in public (I actually think he should but then who am I to tell one of my role models what to do). I hope other men of God will tow this line and speak up in-line with these two options because these are really our only hope for a better tomorrow.

It will not be rosy neither will it be perfect but it will be way better than what we are at present.
alsudan:
Baba Adeboye speaking out in public now only means he has exhausted all his options of trying to convince the bigot why Nigeria must be restructured.

The North West and North East, who the mistake of a President only represents must accept Restructuring or a ruthless dissolution will be the last option.

Just so you know that nothing really ever changes in Nigeria.

SARS will be dissolved, a couple months or even years down the line when Nigerians will have forgotten totally, another squad with another acronym will be formed.

As sad as it hurts to say this, life will go on.
PoliticsRe: IGP Adamu Announces Dissolution Of SARS by kayjay69(m): 2:18pm On Oct 11, 2020
The ruling elite actually do not want any challenge to their hegemony. Their worst nightmare is not SARS killing the youth, it is these protests snowballing into something else that they cannot control and them losing grip on power.

As I always say, everyday for thief, one day for owner. Their cup is almost full and a time is coming when well meaning individuals will take to the streets across cities in Nigeria (I predict the Middle and Southern cities) to protest the iron grip that the mainly Hausa-Fulani (and other individuals from other tribes) has had on the government of Nigeria since inception. They will stand against corruption, oppression, nepotism and poverty.

That day is coming, That day is almost here.
CelebritiesRe: Obafemi Hamzat Shares How SARS Harassed Him by kayjay69(m): 9:06am On Oct 10, 2020
Hamzat's story is just a story at best. I do not believe one word of it and if you believe then you can believe anything.

This is just a way for the ruling elite to show that they identify with the pains and sorrow of the average Nigerian youth when in reality they do not.

We know who the police have sworn to protect and we know who the police harrass. This is not to say there are no good policemen and women on the Nigerian Police Force, this is just saying we have got systemic issues deeper than meets the eye and I know for certain the government allow these things to be.

Coming to pay lip service regarding some unverified story of how SARS harassed you is in my eyes a tacit ploy at campaigning for governorship before 2023. We don't need lip service, we need real change. And you best believe it is coming, like it or not.

PoliticsRe: Onitsha River Port Becomes Functional After Decades Of Planning by kayjay69(m): 1:18pm On Oct 07, 2020
Can you see that bootlicking Twitter user Oguntoyinbo Ismael or whatever his name is.

That Buhari's administration delivered Onitsha port does not mean he is free from the controversy surrounding his WAEC certificate. These are two separate events that are not interrelated in anyway. Trying to muddy up the water by such comments is one of the main problems we have as Nigerians.

As for the Onitsha port, first of all it is at the very least commendable that this administration delivered it as they promised. However this port, like all government funded projects in Nigeria, is late on arrival and may quickly be irrelevant to the main problem it is meant to address. The slow pace of delivery of this project can be attributed to bureaucracy and politics. I am more than certain that the port would have been executed long ago if the regulatory body was under state or regional government control. Afterall, it is common knowledge that a large portion of the containers that land in Lagos are destined for Onitsha and Aba, taking all these years (a failure of all the past administrations) to prioritise a project of this magnitude is really depressing.

This is why I continue to insist that we restructure Nigeria. A restructured Nigeria would definitely be better run, more competitive and more efficient than the present behemoth we have.
PoliticsRe: Garba Shehu’s ‘Attack’ On Adeboye Was To Rebuke Osinbajo - By Fredrick Nwabufo by kayjay69(m): 12:00pm On Oct 07, 2020
The writer spoke my mind, and the minds of well meaning Nigerians, as I have always maintained on this thread.

Nigeria has two options and it is that simple

(A) Restructure

(B) Break-up

I have always said this, Nigeria as it is presently constituted will never achieve anything meaningful and you do not need a soothsayer or a seer to tell you that. I have been attacked here for saying such in the past, yet I stood my ground and continue to stand my ground. I know people fear what they do not understand, hence I take it upon myself to explain what restructuring means and the expected dividend it will yield for all of us.

The ruling class alone will never restructure Nigeria as it should be (you can see previous attempts like the confab and national conference under Obasanjo and GEJ. I contend that, at worst, even if we simply implement to the letter the resolutions of those two confabs we will be in a much better position today), it is left to us as Nigerians to force their hand and have a say in its restructuring.

We must not sit by idly, offering empty rhetoric while watching those who brought us into this cesspit, praying and expecting them to rescue us. We must be vigilant and we must be consistent. We must never tire out in our call for what is right. Our lives and those of our generation yet unborn is dependent on this. Only a short-sighted fool or a bastard will opine differently or claim otherwise.
