In so far as government is involved, either partly or fully, I can assure you that in that time space you mentioned, it will be nothing to write home about. Birdeyeview: |
They should keep it going abeg. Lagos has been overrun by container trucks and all sorts. Makes no sense that a country of 180 million dependent on imports would rely on 1 main port. We need to put aside petty politics and simply do what is best for everyone. sbaks: |
FYI this is not the first time such a measure has been tried. 6 months down the line, things will somehow magically go back to the way they now are. That is Nigeria for you. |
Criticize him all you want, but in case you are unaware those nuclear weapons are the reason he has not been overrun by the purveyors of "western civilisation and democracy". You want world peace today? Give every country nuclear weapons. |
Hahahahahahahaha @ Nigerians posing as experts on American politics. Spot On. dasparrow: |
Is religion not the opium of the masses? Last I checked, some Trimque2k1: |
There are many of them on this platform who really think he is doing God's work and is Jesus sent. Meanwhile he is neither, he is simply a snake oil salesman, a racist scumbag, an orange turd who has no business in the business of politics. Just look at how he has ruined US democracy through his underhanded approach. In my view, he is no different from the person we have as President. Na the same born to rule mentality dey the two of dem head. Trimque2k1: |
I can not blame my man Amaechi, he happens to take after Okotie Eboh dem. No be today our leaders don dey sell us out for personal profit. The biggest joke is on all those fools coming here to praise some of these projects without asking the actual cost. Well if you can read, you are seeing the real cost for a locomotive railroad project. Technology that has been mastered as far back as the early 20th century and has since been confined to museums in first world countries. This is how far we have fallen. |
I am not from Anambra and I do not claim to know what is going on there. With that said and judging from the write-up, it is men like Arthur Eze we ought to get rid of. These self-appointed powers that be are the real problems we have in this country. |
Preach finish for Redeem then go one better shrine go top one idol with some palm oil. |

Naija matter be like person wey get enough money to buy Cow but all the time wey e dey go market na one yeye village fowl e dey see buy. And then instead make him people call am to order, dem go dey hail am say e try say e buy yeye fowl. Dem go tell am say e try oh, say afterall yeye fowl better pass nothing. Naso our matter be for naija. |
This was exactly what Obama saw and knew as he tried to redeem the US image by striking the JCPOA deal with Iran which has been dismissed by Mr know it all, I am always right, action man Trump. Now look at where that has gotten them. They have the strongest military in the world, yes we know. But this is not 1980s, the Iranians know in an all out war they will probably lose but the US will never occupy Iran and they will suffer heavy casualties in such a war. Which is why as you see, they are restrained, they cannot attack Iran. I know the madman Netanyahu wants this scenario, but look at what Iran did to the US military base in Iraq. Look at how precise their weapons are. It tells you one thing, in the event of a war, all US bases in that region will be lit up. Saudi Arabia will be lit up. Israel will be lit up. Yes Iran will suffer too but tell me what the point of a war is if you suffer so much casualties just to win? Wars are'nt fought that way, the US knows this which is why they will never attack Iran head on. A strong Iran is needed in that region to checkmate Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Israel. Let everyone start respecting everyone else. Quelme: |
This is really good news for everyone asides Israel and the US ofcourse. I love how US and Israel keep beating their chests saying there is none equal to them militarily yet they stop at nothing to ensure Iran cannot buy fighter jets and missile defense systems. They continue their wave of sanctions. These two countries have steadily undermined Iran at every single opportunity they could find for no reason whatsoever. They label the Iranians terrorists yet what Israel has continuously done in the West Bank and Gaza strip is nothing short of terrorism itself. The same US overthrew a legal, democratic elected government in Iran in the 50s because he was a communist sympathiser and now look at the monsters they've created an Islamic republic. I have no pity for US in this matter. Iran does not seek to destroy Israel, forget the cannon fodder they feed you in the mass media. Iran only seeks some kind of equity for the Palestinians which the Zionist regime in Israel is firmly against. You give them that, they'll have no claim to fame. Iran may try to exert influence on some of its neighbours (Syria and Iraq) in order to limit the powers of Saudi Arabia and the US, but can you blame them? Who do you think created ISIS? And for what purpose? I know we as Africans do not think beyond our noses as we have been programmed to do by our colonialist overlords through religion and poverty. We do not have any dignity as a people because if we did, over half of the people on this thread would understand who the real oppressor is and the real oppressed is. Do a comparison of Iran and Saudi Arabia (same country Americans will stop at nothing to support). Iranians despite their imperfections are as close to a democracy as you will find in any major islamic country and they are quite liberal too, you cannot say same of the Saudis. Not saying the Iranians are perfect but every nation has the right to arm themselves to the teeth and defend every inch of their territory. I know for a fact that if Iran did not have the mass arsenal of missiles they have at their disposal, the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel would have overrun them by now. If you want world peace today, give every country nuclear weapons and I assure you there will be world peace. The same US is the only country ever that has used nuclear weapons on another country yet they yell and scream whenever others try to get such. Iran does not have any nuclear weapons as of today. But even if they were to have, they have every right to have it as every country in the world should. It is not the job of one country to tell the others who can and who can't have weapons. Enough with the hypocrisy already. You can't have it one way and the other. It's either one way or the other. |
The rebuilding process should start first by shipping off Messi and getting as much as they can for him. He cannot play forever. He has peaked and is now on a slow but somewhat steady decline. A great player nonetheless but every dog has its day. The sooner Barca rebuilds the better for all involved. |
I know. I did not want to mention it but yes I know. But you see what baffles me is this. Our type of corruption is like a virus that seeks to devour everything in its path. I'll explain. So you have a road contract originally worth 1bn naira, say you add another 2bn naira as bribe and kickbacks, why not ensure you build a world class road with that 1bn naira? Why not ensure it is finished on time and schedule? So you can move to other projects that the country desperately needs. You see our leaders are just wicked. They don't use most of this infrastructure so they are not really affected nor concerned. And since their only gain in all of this is the money the siphon so vigorously, they try to ensure they steal alot and are unconcerned about the progress of the project, the same project that enables them to steal. This is what you'll never see in other countries. There is corruption everywhere, but I contend that there is a corruption that works and a corruption that does not work. We are practicing the latter in it's most virulent form. The money is there, the opportunities to impact upon lives and businesses through meaningful projects are there. But doing it, doing it well and within time remains a constant problem. It is sad really. If govt would just focus on creating an enabling environment for people to thrive, no one would care who was from where or what, those would be secondary arguments. But our leaders are so stupid and daft, despite having everything at their disposal, all they do is ask for more with little to no results to show forth. LadySarah: |
Very true Big plus and a much needed project. It is only unfortunate that it may be arriving somewhat late and well overpriced. Remember it was actually Obasanjo, on his way out, that commissioned the kick-off for this rail project. But my main grouse has always been, why we are often fixated on few projects and we are usually slow in executing/implementing. Why spend 20 years on a single project, when you can spend same amount of time on multiple. Nigeria is so underdeveloped that, even if we declare a true state of emergency in all sectors, it will take us not less than 50 years to catch up to an average 2nd world country. I say that with a lot of hope and optimism, others might disagree. delpee: |
Let me add to the list bro No roads No sanity No rule of law No order But please let the Asiwaju beneficiaries not catch us saying these things otherwise na war oh. In the past, I have been heavily criticised for saying Lagos was not a mega city. I am happy someone other than myself has the guts to call it as it is. SocialJustice: |
Incase you haven't noticed DSS, Nigeria is already destabilized and hanging by a thread already. |
Lai Mohammed is just a motherfcuker. in Samuel L Jackson's voice |
So he should retract a statement of fact. We really do deserve all of the evil and woeful things that befall us in this country. |
Honestly, the write-up was a total waste of my 10 mins. Here I was expecting a honest analysis of the man, the closest I got was he has weaknesses same as everyone else. What those two men have is worse than weaknesses. A careful yet stupid attempt to launder the images of these two rogues. So this stupid writer is trying to tell us how Tinubu is good for Nigeria and how he should be allowed to ascend the Presidency. Because he has a lion heart and is a fierce fighter, such big words thrown around for a man who is no different than a common thief or a mafia kingpin. I ask based on what record? Based on what precedence? Let Tinubu himself come and speak to the mass public, specifically the Yorubas. Let him come and tell us how he seeks to replicate the Lagos model on the national scale. Further entrenching the lot of us (not connected to him or his party) in abysmal poverty. A pig is a pig, no matter how much make-up you put on it. Esseite: |
Thank you in advance to Lagos State for ensuring that businesses such as these are killed or permanently chased away. This stuff just reads like the plot from a comedy. It is not enough to steal and pilfer public funds, Lagos state Government just has to come up with the most irrelevant of fees and taxes whilst bringing nothing to the table. Nicely done. Just remember, one day go be one day. |
Loss for the country, Gain for the cabal. The only prayer one needs to pray is for God to run the lives of these people the same way they run the affairs of the country. And some idiots will come here to say we are moving forward all the while praising some overbloated government contract. That is money that can make a big difference in Nigeria. Money that can build some major infrastructure. Money that can add meaningful value to the life of an average citizen. Yet we squander it on refineries we very well know will never work, all because we are a bunch of animals that value human beings less than we should. |
How? How? How? It seems everyone has been affected by Lai Mohammed fever. |
Bros OP, Yoruba guy here. I'll be brief cos I've got a plane to catch, for all of your defence of Tinubu, I'll just wish you a small prayer "May God run your life the way Tinubu has run Lagos State in the last 21 years and plans to run Nigeria." If you say AMEN, then I know you are a good and sincere man who wishes yourself the very same things Lagosians have enjoyed. If you curse me or disregard, then I will know for sure that you are either ignorant, meaning you don't know what is going on or choose to ignore OR just a greedy, callous and wicked animal who wants nothing more than his candidate in power so that you can continue to enjoy the largesse of stolen wealth to the detriment of this entire country. Tinubu typifies the very worst of Nigerian politicians. As a politician, you can choose admire him but I ask to what end? Is it not to enrich his cronies whilst enslaving this and many more generations to come? If he backs a better suited candidate such as Fashola or Osinbajo, he has my support. Yes we will know that he is the puppet master but atleast these candidates are younger, more aware and will be expected to do better than a self-annointed godfather of Lagos politics. |
This First Cardiologist Consultant hospital is a dumping ground for Covid-19 inflicted politicians to go and die. |
