Foreign Affairs / Re: Six-ton Nasa Science Satellite Falls To Earth by kelvin(m): 2:36pm On Sep 24, 2011
IG:

Such mishaps are normal in space operations. There were severe instances when lives are lost like the case of the Challenger in 1986. But the funny thing is that in Nigeria when we had problems with NIGCOMSAT-1, almost everybody started crying foul.

In this case, the satellite is falling to earth, everyone is going to see the evidence. But with the NIGCOMSAT 1, they claimed it drifted out of orbit, Who knows, it might have been true, but until we see the parts falling, it will be hard to believe
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs France: U-20 World Cup Quarter Final @ 9pm by kelvin(m): 11:52pm On Aug 14, 2011
In the end it was a good show, But it doesn't change the fact that the result has made me sad. sad
Celebrities / Re: Sam Loco, Dead Or Alive by kelvin(m): 6:43am On Aug 08, 2011
Is he dead or alive? Who do we believe. The Nigerian press or rumors from individuals? Hmm. I'll take rumors anyday before considering the words of incompetent journalists.
Politics / Re: Why We Barred Females From Wearing Trousers In Offices – Plateau Govt by kelvin(m): 5:42pm On Jul 28, 2011
Whether this decision was made as a result of religion or a false sense of morality, it results from the same thing: gross incompetence and lack of understanding on how to run a state. When our leaders take out time from the jobs they were elected to accomplish and decide to become fashion critics, it spells doom for the citizens. sad sad sad
Crime / Re: Robbers Kill Police Chief In Ondo by kelvin(m): 6:08pm On Jul 21, 2011

Na waoooo, This Naija self

North: Boko Haram

South South: Militant's

South East: Kidnappers

West: Arm Robbers

Where will we run to. Even the law enforcement agents are not safe
I'm glad you asked,
Actually, I hear it's pretty safe in Southern Sudan this time of the year. My folks and I are planning a trip up north.

Its really tragic, the spate of armed robbery in this country. Not just the robbery, but all the problems everywhere in the country. I don't think its because there are too much guns, but rather, not enough. Its obvious the police can no longer protect the citizens, they can't even protect themselves. We deserve the right to bear arms, so each man can protect himself and his family,

Just a suggestion.
Business / Re: How Can I Become A Billionaire At 36! by kelvin(m): 4:51pm On Jul 21, 2011
kulutempa:

The easiest route to wealth in Nigeria is what I call the FPR formula:  Fraud, Politics, and Religion.  Take your pick.
No, I don't think any of that is enough to become a billionaire in that time frame (10 years). Working right, not just working hard might help. The poster really has a tall dream, it might be possible, but still, it will take a good plan, discipline and commitment.

Politics / Re: What Is The Fastest Way To Rise In Rank In The Nigerian Army? by kelvin(m): 4:46pm On Jul 21, 2011
Generally, the fastest way to rise in the armed forces would be by raking in lots of medals, and you can't do that by sitting in an office, only through sweating in trenches and running through mine fields while bullets buzz over your head. My advice: join the air force, then, you only have to fly over battles. And besides, Nigerian Air Force has very few serviceable planes, so I doubt you'll see action much.

This is becoming interesting! I mean how come the so called un educated normads suddenly become URBAN AND REGIONAL BOMBERS, STRATEGIEST, EXPLOSIVE MANUFACTURERS, CHESS PLAYERS E.T.C, almost immediately after the elections ?
Good point. There is definitely some other hands involved in the background, and our government just isn't doing enough to stop them. sad
NYSC / Re: Kidnapped Corpers: NYSC Rejects Ransom Demand, Resorts To Prayers by kelvin(m): 8:34am On Jun 16, 2011
Its a pity, the incompetence of our security agencies is alarming. Well, I guess we really have no choice but to pray for them.
Politics / Re: Enugu Brt To Be Run By Nigeria Made Buses! by kelvin(m): 3:17pm On Jun 15, 2011
tom28:

So nigerian now produces buses?
We cant even produce plastic cups and spoons not to talk of automobiles.

That's where you are wrong. About 90% of plastics used in this country are made right here. Plus I think what Innoson is really doing is assembling the parts.

Still, kudos to the Enugu government and to IVM. I have experienced these buses so I can confirm that its all real,
Politics / Re: Corps Members Drafted For The North To Carry Firearms by kelvin(m): 4:25pm On May 23, 2011
The NYSC was originally created to foster unity among the various tribes of the country, and serve as a means of creating understanding and tolerance among Nigerians, irrespective of the language or religion. Obviously, the program has failed. Instead of uniting, it is tearing asunder and creating the false impression that Nigerians are not capable of living together PEACEFULLY. The program should be scrapped, period. When talk of arming corps members (who are supposed to be at peace with their host communities) arises, joke or not, it only serves to demonstrate the level of failure of the program. angry

Health / Re: Why Do Luth Dr, Nurses, Interns Have Bad Attitudes? by kelvin(m): 6:47am On May 19, 2011
edoyad:

It's not just in Luth, virtually all govt owned hospitals dish out that type of treatment to the public. You haven't met the meanest people on this planet until you've been handled by a Nigerian nurse employed by the FG.
Not just the nurses in govt owned hospitals, but all nurses. Its like they teach them that in nursing school (RUDE 101). Well, I won't be surprised, most nursing schools in the country are govt owned.
Health / Re: Fascinating To Hear That My Baby Has A Bad Breath! by kelvin(m): 3:47pm On May 14, 2011
@poster
I suggest you seek professional advise from someone qualified to give it (most likely a dentist). The only advice you can get here is based on experience, and without exactly knowing the cause of your baby's "problem", it would be wrong to go around experimenting on a 2 YEAR OLD BABY.

Politics / Re: Fashola Strikes Again by kelvin(m): 1:50pm On May 14, 2011
pro01:

I'm afraid that is the only thing the government can do; the alternative is to pass a law banning street begging and perhaps arresting those that publicly solicit for alms. But passing a law that bans people from giving alms is totally obnoxious and impracticable. I agree that these beggars constitute serious public nuisance, but the solution is certainly not in promulgating a draconian law that threatens 'good samaritans' with two years imprisonment. Even people that commit certain serious felonies don't get up to two years imprisonment. The idea is totally idiotic; this can only happen in Nigeria or Africa.

Well said. Fashola obviously knew this would be an unpopular decision, that's why he waited until after the elections to come up with this new development. angry

So what exactly are u trying to say? . . that those pics of "dead" osama were real? . . . or are u saying this pics of obama purportedly watching the execution is really Obama and his cabinet watching the real action?

I concur. For all we know, those guys could be watching the super bowl. smiley

i ask her to give one person who was killed because of usama's death and i sound like a murder and i attack her, oh dear im sorry if that's what you think of nrotherners as nothing but blood thirsty individuals
none of your links work, and even if it were true why should you run for something which happened 10 years ago, and people expect there to be change and trust when there is still paranoia, usama was not our leader

Progress is built on mutual trust. You don't expect the non-northerners up north to go about their business knowing that any trivial thing can cause them to be slaughtered. If you have ever come close to being impaled or decapitated by a suya knife, I'm sure you'll see things differently.
