To the two posters above. . . what guarantee do we have that the Saudi Arabs wouldn't replace their monarchy with something much more dangerous and evil? Are you really sure you want to risk instability like that? undecided

House of Saud isn't that bad, all things considered.
It is what majority of the Saudi people desire that matters and it is not what favours the west. Mubarak provided 30 years of stability and the expense of development, freedom and prosperity of its people , these stability of 30 years crumbled within 18 days and Egypt is not a somalia now but hopefully is on the right track to reform.

This stability rehtoric is what has been used to con the entire world for 40-50 years.

House of saud is not only bad but complicit in many atoricites going on in the middle east but do it behind closed doors.

Down to the House of Saud !!

PoliticsRe: Saudi Arabia Bans All Protesting - Say's Protesting Is A Violation Of Sharia Law by Lagosboy: 10:13am On Mar 07, 2011
The Saudi scholars saying protesting for reforms in Saudi is aginst the shariah law should simply shut up and ask themselves if the absolute monarchy in Saudi is islamic in the first instance. One family corners the whole country and names it after themselves with the help of the British and this family lords over the whole country´s wealth.

Saud govt IMO is the worst of them all in the middle east and very soon the entire monarchy will run away with their tails in between their legs to their buddies in Washington. Let the will of the people prvail in Saudi. These saudi scholars let us believe consultation and advising is the way according to shariah but have failed to ask themselves if the general pouplace have any say in governance.

May the House of Saud fall very soon , God willing!!!  angry

Sista, Let us shed religous bigotry, let us read and accept the truth, how will a fanatic choose a pastor as his deputy and a fanatic has a christian driver for 12 years. You even accuse all BB suporters as pro islamic fanatics, haba sista !! You have a right not to vote for BB but you dont have a right to accuse all his supporters of being pro islamic fanatics. Rev Kukah is a man of proven integrity and supports Buhari all the time , Pastor Bakare supports Buhari and so many other non muslim religous leaders.

Let us shed our bigotry if we really want change in Nigeria.

Sister Time2think

You really have to think deeply as you have to analyse your post and observe that most of what you posted are the same reasons we all want Buhari back. It is really commendable that in all you posted, there is not a single accusation of looting, embezzeling , illegal acquisition of wealth in there which is something that can not be said of any presidential aspirant today(maybe Ribadu is an exception). Among what you said there is nothing that could be said to be breaking of the law in the which is nothing that could be said of any presidential aspirant today (Even Ribadu subverted the law when Alamco was impeached and GEJ was made governor).

Buhari 4 change!!!! Bakare represents change !!! Two honest men, two men of integrity and two men that could lead us to where we truly deserve to be as a nation.

SAI Buhari!!!

PoliticsRe: Bode George Shocker Tinubu Sent Me To Jail ! by Lagosboy: 9:25am On Mar 07, 2011
Although Bode George is very corrupt and has benefited from ill gotten wealth together with OBJ, he is no less corrupt than Tinubu or other looting politicians. What i can never rule out is Tinubus hand in his predicament, Tinubu has lagos judges in his pockets and same goes for all the press in lagos except thisday but when thisday overstepped its limits they were hounded for tax evasion and ever since then Nduka has tried never to step on Tinubus toes.

Boode George is Tinubus most feared politician in Lagos and the SW and he might have influenced the judge to make the right judgement. This does not erase the fact that they are both looters and I am sure Tinubus time to pay for his sins too will sure come. The only thing i appreciate about Tinubus and co politics is that at least they dont go killing opponents like PDP stalwarts in the SW.

Every politicians will have great jelousy towards Buhari because it is a natural human deisre to be loved by people, especially when you know that love is not based on the money you dole out but based on your uprightness, character and integrity.

PoliticsRe: Gej The Coward Our Phd Debate Dodger by Lagosboy: 9:21am On Mar 04, 2011
It is only in Nigeria an aspirant will try to dodge a debate. OBJ refused to show up in 1999 for a debate with Olu Falae , OBJ refused to debate again in 2003, Yaradua refused to debate in 2007 and now GEJ is looking for ways to run away again. The sad thing is all these rogues were sworn in as presidents even when Yaradua never won the last election.

Shame oh shame, well if GEJ refuses to show up the other aspirants should turn up and tell the poulace their plans.

Money cannot bring 2 million people together for campaign never !! This has to be sheer goodwill, Nigerians are giving a message to the incumbent and that message is CHANGE. We should not forget that the incumbent VP is from Kaduna and during GEJ´s campaign there he was speaking to an empty venue.

IslamRe: Is It Allowed For A Sister To Propose To A Fellow Muslim Brother? by Lagosboy: 1:51pm On Mar 02, 2011
Our sisters should understand that Allah has created us to have partners wherein we could find repose " And among his signs is that he created amongst yourselves mates wherein you find rest(repose, satisfaction) and he put between you Affection and mercy . . . ."

Every woman desrves the company of a man and likewise a man desrves the company of a woman. A woman can propose to a man and even a married man as there are instances women proposed to the Prophet PBUH even one incident happened in public as reported in Bukhari/muslim. The prophet married a woman who proposed to him and the woman requested she just wanted to be among the wives of the prophet on the day of judgement.

We should believe in the whole of the book like uplawal said, we should not apply one rule and dislike the other, polygamy is halal, proposing to a man is halaal and marrying a married man is halaal. In as much as no haraam has been done everything is perfectly alright.

If a sister is chasing your husband, it is your husband that has to turn her down or accept her proposal. The hadith of the prophet said "You would not be a believer till you love for yourself what you love for your fellow muslim". It is a higher level of faith for a woman to even marry a sister in need of a man to her own husband.

We are in the life for a little while and I want some of our sister who are not comfortable with women wanting to marry their husband to think about this scenario. Today you have your husband and tomorrow one could be a young widow and in need of a husband which will put you in the same situation the other sisters are in now. I have heard this happened and the widow herself wants to marry a marrie dmand while she never wanted another woman too marry her husband. Polygamy is not easy for women I accept , but we should understand the spriritual side of marriage and be more flexible so that we are not tested by Allah in a way which we might not like.

And God knows best.
PoliticsRe: I’ll Remove Immunity Clause – Buhari ! by Lagosboy: 10:50am On Mar 01, 2011
The problem with Nigeria is not policies but the lack of political will to implement policies that will lead to meaningful developmental change. Buhari has the political will , he has told u so and we the people have the people power to be able to lead Nigerians to Abuja to demand the lawmakers pass a bill we love.

If people power can remove dictators and make dicatators beg for dialogue , I am sure we can move mountains in Nigeria but we just have to believe. In Obama´s words "Change we can believe".

PoliticsRe: Pdp Moves Against Salami by Lagosboy: 10:12am On Feb 23, 2011
ACN did the same thing thing to PDP before the Osun Tribunal judgement two years ago and printed phone numbers and text messages between Oyinlolas lawyers and the judges. The difference is ACN did not petition but published it using Ojodus The News Magazine. Ojode has been rewarded by a senatorial ticket in Ekiti.

Nigerians let us wake up, although i genuinly believe ACN won the election in Ekiti and Osun both PDP and ACN are gulity of romancing judges to give favourable judgements. Yaradua won at the supreme court by dubious means and a judgement of 4 - 3 votes at the highest court in the land is not to be taken lightly considering the fact that it deals with a presidential election.

The next elections I pray Buhari is not rigged out and wins.

Down to ACN and PDP!!!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Mercenaries In Libya Captured And Beaten By A Mob!--video by Lagosboy: 7:46pm On Feb 22, 2011
@Last page

I did enjoy readin your analysys and i it is thought provoking.

I must confess i admire Ghaddafis personality and bravery but i believe the Libyans genuinly want a change and they desrve it. 42 years is a hell long time to be in power and the country deserves better and on the level of UAE or Kuwait since Libya has tremendous oil reserves and a population of only about 6 million.

However, i do accept there are many opportunitst jumping on hte bandwagon just like Amr Moussa did during the Egyptian revolution so as to position himself to run for Egyptian presidency.

I do also accept the double standard by the west when it comes to international law as a human life is a human life. Bahrain rascals royal family killed peaceful civilians and Ghadaffi has done the same. Ghadaffi´s questions are equally valid about Fallujah, China etc.

I pray the revolution succeeds and a genuine change is acheived. I also know that the west presently feels comfortable with Ghadaffi and have invested shit loads of money in Libya which is at risk if ghaddafi falls. Libya is more essential to the west in terms of economy than Egypt or Tunisia.

Only time will tell!!
PoliticsRe: Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina Top Voter’s List by Lagosboy: 3:58pm On Feb 22, 2011
Wadeoye:
The above allocation is wrong and too shallow. There is no way Ribadu will win Lagos. Do you think people here will vote for party? You will be dissappointed. And how will PDP win in Abuja? All the politicians who are majorly PDP will go to their various state to vote leaving only civil servants and many other people who on a daily basis withness the corruption of the ruling party. PDP will lose Abuja - I am very sure CPC will win there. Lets just pray votes are not rigged.

As for Kogi, go to the stay and see the exodous of people from PDP to CPC - as a matter of fact, CPC is the party to beat there.

Ibadan people have also agreed to vote for Ladoja as governor and CPC as president - go and check these facts. The same thing will happen in Lagos where Fashola will get gov votes and CPC will get presidential votes. Forget about what some ethnic bigot here are saying about Igbo's in Lagos. Who in Lagos does not want a working system? We need light, roads, etc more than any other cities in Nigeria. It is in view of this that nobody should expect blind voting for any party.

How will Ribadu win Ogun? - election at the presidential level is not going to be party based - please wake up. Dont forget Tunde Bakare is from Ogun.
I could not agree more.

Ribadu will be deceiving himself if he thinks Tinubu will win him the entire SW. SW people are too enlighten to be taken for a ride by Tinubu and his gangs. Buhari will perform majic here in the SW and the result will show this after the election. The feelers i am getting from Naija people and politicans on ground is that majority of the people are saying they will not vote for party but personalities. Once they identify a good person they will vote for the person. ACN will be dumbfounded in APril and that might be the begining of Tinubus journey into political irrelevance.

If one is late for prayers , you make the first takbir and join the congrgation/imam in whatever position they are in prayer. IslamRe: Curious About Islam, facts About Islam. by Lagosboy: 11:59am On Feb 21, 2011
I would like to discuss the issue of apostacy and capital punishment in islam as i came across a thread in the politics section regarding this and perhaps we could discuss it here.

In islam any apostate is not to be killed and there is evidence in the time of the Prophet PBUH where someone changed his faith and was not killed in anyway.

The only instance where an apostate is killed is the instance of an islamic state , where someone changes side and begins to work against the state. This act is punishable under all laws of all modern countries. In the US it is called treasonable felony punishable by death or long jail sentence - example is John Walker Lindh who was US citizen and fought against the US in battle. In the UK it as an offence, In Nigerias law Treasonable felony is death sentence.

1400 years ago the Islamic state in Medina was newly established and the same law applied to anyone. Then, the oath of allegiance was to the state and you are free to choose your religion as the quran says in Q2 v 256 "Let there be no compulsion in religion". There were Jews and christians living under the state with full rights and priviledges. Death penalty was only prescribed on someone that switched side and worked with external agressors against the state.

I do accept some muslims dont help matters when they have the opinion that anyone switching sides should be killed. This opinion has no basis in islamic legal theory.

And God knows best!
IslamRe: British Gay Muslims Seek Islamic Wedding(nikah) by Lagosboy: 11:35am On Feb 21, 2011
This issue is so simple and clear. The quran is clear on this gay issue and the people of Shuayb (Sodom and gomora) were destroyed for homosexual activities. These two girls are just deceiving themselves as they could do whatever they want and it is their business but looking for islam to sanction their union is a wild goose chase. Muslims don’t modify islam and the principles of islam are fixed and static not subject to time or place, the application is dynamic though in relation to our social affairs especially

I just don’t understand why people like to make a fuss where there is no fuss. There are numerous verses in the quran discussing the terms on nikkah and in every single verse it is between a man and a woman. This issue is non debatable , it is non negiotiable, it is not subject to interpretation of any kind, it uncompromising.

Anyone is free to do whatever under their roofs and for all I care the lady could have 10 more lesbians to be with as it is her choice but looking for an Islamic rubber stamp to approve her union would forever remain a wild goose chase.

The other sheikh in the US conducting gay marriages is a joke and the reference he is making to Q31 makes him a comedian. As any mufaseer would tell you that the quranice verses complement each other and Allah stated in numerous verses in the quran the contract of marriage between a man and a woman.

And God knows best

The first rule in a debate is to understand the concept being discussed before formulating an opinion or making an allegation.

In islam an apostate is not to be killed and there is evidence in the time of the Prophet PBUH where someone changed his faith and was not killed in anyway.

The only instance where an apostate is killed is the instance of an islamic state , where someone changes side and begins to work against the state. For jornalists to bring this issue into Buhari runnign for presidency means that some Nigerians dont want progress , some Nigerians are bent on dividing us on the basis of religion. Nigerians should acknowledge the fact that a devout muslim is joining hand with a devout christian to move our country foward.

I trust intelligent minds would look beyond this myopic religious politicking.
